• (Semi) Indomitable Pride: Dexter possesses a strong sense of pride albeit mostly as an effect of his ego. However it isn't unshakable in any sense of the word, as the boy is highly emotional and quite susceptible to other emotions.
• Emotion Manipulation: Dexter can sense pride and happiness in people and animals, and can instill positive emotions within people by increasing their brains dopamine. However he can only really use his ability for focusing on one individual at a time.

Before he was brought to this world Dexter was a being from a place known as the Void where his kind lived, but it wasn't an easy way of life for most of it's inhabitants. If you were weak, you were consumed for your mana and the only escape from such brutality was a fate worse than death. The only way of leaving this way of life is by giving up one form for that of a fallen body, and in the end Dexter decided to sacrifice everything to escape being consumed for his mana...

Formal Cloths: Dexter wears a nice white long-sleeved dress shirt underneath a black woollen vest that hangs down slightly over his lower body. He also is wearing a pair of black shorts, and a pair of black leather dress shoes.

I think a punished Voidspawn would be more likely in this setting. The Horde is bent on consuming as many living souls as possible; if you're too weak, or take the mortals' side, they'll devour you so as not to waste mana. So Dexter may be a weak Voidspawn who escaped his gruesome fate and took a fallen body on his way out.

^ I like that suggestion a lot, it feels more cohesive than my original plan. Plus my inspiration for Dex was character archetypes like Zim and Moxie voiced by the same guy who voiced Zim.

@Conejitoooo I was wondering, instead of Dexter being a reincarnated human turned demon or native to the Isekai could he be a Demon being punished and sent to the world because he was a demonic failure?

Character-wise, I'm looking at an eccentric, maybe a little paranoid, but quite cocky and witty 'magical engineer'. Basically he incorporates magic into equipment and machineries, or the other way around, creating all sorts of weird but practical stuffs like magic sensors or magic-powered automations. Power-wise, he's nowhere near the magic power of the strongest witch/wizard/magician of the world, but his pragmatism can bridge that gap. I'm considering between him being a native or a computer-programmer isekaied, but just throwing it out there for now.

I feel like Newt would be your characters A) Best Friend or B) Biggest Pain in the Ass, because your magical and he would constantly be "O great wizzy magiker, how cast boom magic?"
