Hey, you know what's annoying? Being self-centered. Getting mad at people for doing something instead of something else when they're just having fun sucks. Gotta love self-loathing, too.

I'm not dead, I'm just dead.

I feel like I tried to warn you, do.
Ah, Storm. Now once again reminding me why "I" married her.

*Goes inside* Thanks, by the way.
Violet

Just as she finished tying the wire, a SWAT member revealed himself behind her. "Get-" he began, before Violet slammed her bracer against his head, knocking him unconscious. She quickly grabbed the pistol he had and tied the end of another 20 meter line of metal wire around the trigger, giving it enough slack that it didn't pull it but knotted so that additional tension on the wire would instantly fire the gun. ... a laptop in my back pocket... She picked up a brick and quickly ran to the Lamborghini, unlocking it and getting inside. It took a few moments for her to figure out how to adjust her power correctly, and finally activated the ignition and set the car in drive. She noted that there was a fire hydrant directly across the street in the direction the car was facing, and tied the brick to the gas pedal, as well as the steering wheel to keep it from pushing down on it.

Satisfied, she popped the hood and got out, tying the end of the wire that connected to the drainage pipe to the car's battery output, electrifying it. To finish her plan, she put the pistol into the gas canister and turned the safety off. Now she just needed to wait for the others to escape. With the SWAT vehicles blocking the road to the east, she was confident that her plan would work.
Small post, but just in case we don't do the skip for a little bit, I went with my original plan to show off.
Here. Got a post in the making but stuff has been putting it off.

Life sucks.

But you run into the issue of the government "actively" doing anything. If they should be "actively" pursuing any goal, it's getting less involved.

We don't live in a world where that is a feasible philosophy. Unfortunately.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>

That's the problem though; inevitably, getting the government involved is actively harming yourself. It would take very few bills to restore the ISP free market. However, actively protecting net neutrality and preventing government interference would take many. It's a short term solution that takes a long time to implement.

Not actively protecting net neutrality takes just as long to make right and isn't a solution at all.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>

The problem is that once the government has their hands somewhere, it's extremely hard to get them out. I'd say it's more akin to going ahead and amputating a hand so you can get a prosthetic replacement rather than bleed for a while to try to get some stitches. I fear that as soon as the government starts regulating what can and can't be done regarding the internet, things will go downhill very quickly.

But it's already regulating it by maintaining net neutrality on a legal basis. And for your analogy it'd be like amputating when you're thirty minutes from a way to seal the wound because you couldn't seal it right away and were afraid it would get infected. Amputating will be worse because it'll still take the same time to fix it except now you're actively harming yourself.
