@MelonHead: Before I accept your character sheet, I just have a few quick question about Silence's powers. After reading your sample post, I take it that, when he is not concentrating on his "aura", the "aura" doesn't go very far from Silence, since it didn't affect anyone until he concentrated on it. Is this correct?

Also, from your comment that Silence "will be outmatched", I am assuming you think that his "debilitating aura" will not "even the odds" against much of the RP's cast? I initially had concerns that the power might be a little overpowered, but if you believe that it will cripple the majority of the characters in the roleplay, then my concerns have been taken away. Plus, since you have mentioned that you're not here for "only fights", then I am pretty confident that this power will not be an issue.

Just answer these two questions. :)

@Sep: If you are going with "copying" powers, I would say that it would be best to stay with one power (set) at a time, like the "nerfed" Peter in Heroes. Peter prior to the end of the "Villains" arc was way overpowered.

Or you could go down the Animorphs route, as Fallen mentioned. I wouldn't mind seeing that, either.

IF you go the beast boy route, there's actually at least two ways that can be done:

One- He has to have seen the animal in order to acquire it's shape, abilities, etc. Including using those set abilities or skills.
Two- Doing it similar to the Animorphs, which was acquire the animal through touch and being able to access the animal by focusing on them at any time.

Despite how corny 2 sounds,the books and even the show did it fairly well. Even had a weakness that if they stuck in the morph for up to two hours, they risk being stuck in it and unable to morph out. (though I would suggest in this story it might be better to adjust it that the longer he stays in the animal's shape, the more he becomes like that creature and so might be something of a character struggle or conflict with the power) The morphing also wasn't instant but took seconds or minutes depending on how complicate and radically different the creature was. In the books, morphing humans was complicated (save for Tobias who become trapped in the hawk's body and later regained the ability to morph later in the series) and so was heavily avoided. In addition, just because they had a wide range of animals didn't mean they used them all and some were even re-acquired due to how long ago they gained them... Gods, my inner nerd is seeping. XD

Oh, Animorphs. There was actually an Animorphs roleplay on this site that I was part of a few years ago. I remember watching some of the television series, but not all of it.

Can anyone recommend a good place in the IC to read from to get a gist of the current story arc/arcs?

That does lead me to something I've been meaning to ask, the OP says you have to start with an Origin Arc, what exactly does that entail?

It does not necessarily have to be how they got their powers, but it just needs to be the story that introduces the character to the game. Even if it only a post or two, it just helps give us an idea about how your character will work in the roleplay. Plus, it prevents people from hoping into someone else's story line and then disappearing without a trace.

After looking at that timeline it might be best if Lekh's intro was sometime in the last two months and he's been essentially laying low since then, so I have some time to accommodate for all the craziness kicking off. Also let me know what you think of this character, if there's any problems or whatever. I've read over the OP a few times but I might have missed something. (There's no issues with swearing is there? I do tend to use a pretty course vocab with most characters)

Starting your intro in the past is fine. My first character in this roleplay did that too.

* There should be MINIMAL cussing and swearing in posts.

And @Sep and @Dedonus I know you guys aren't trying to rain on my parade, I just don't think the Marvel MCU is as flawless as a lot of people and that the Spider-Man flicks have way more potential than Sony realizes. Ant Man looked good, but I was disappointed they made Pym an old guy and remade characters and such to avoid any chance of the Pym/Wasp marital abuse thing coming up. I have high hopes for Black Panther though and the Inhumans.

After reading what Sony had planned for Spider-Man, they really needed to let him go because they had no freaking clue how to handle him. And this is coming from someone who liked the Amazing Spider-Man series of films (I have no idea how anyone could rate ASM2 under SM3. That's beyond me). Like I already said, the original Spider-Man trilogy was produced in a very competition-lacking environment. Sony thought that they could just make a Spider-Man movie and it be a smashing success. This really shows itself in ASM2, where Sony tried to market that movie to death.

Sometimes, it takes fresh minds to make something better. You cannot tell me that the Fantastic Four would be in better hands with Marvel than with Fox, especially after the embarrassment that F4 was (although I didn't see it because I already assumed it was going to be a train wreck). I think it is the same with Spider-Man (although definitely not as extreme as a case as Fantastic Four). Spider-Man needed fresh minds on his projects because obviously what Sony was doing with him was not working.

Sure, I would love to see the DC movies do well. This can only bring healthy competition between the two companies. It will keep the "creative" fire going under Marvel so that they don't become lazy and lose their touch. And while it is true that not everything that Marvel makes is "golden", at the same time, except for the Incredible Hulk (which probably is a better movie than the two ones I will list), Marvel hasn't had a movie so bad like Green Lantern or Fantastic Four (the reboot). Even Man of Steel was polarizing. Some liked it, other did not (unfortunately I am one of the latter).
