Don't lie, @Dedonus.

You liked that post because of my correct use of "ergo", didn't you?

Well, since I prefer ancient Greek over Latin, there's still room for improvement.
@Natty@Blue Demon@Defacto@GreenGrenade

I believe you all showed interest in this thread but wanted to wait until Season 2 to jump in. See Hound's post above (the first one). If you still want to wait, that is still fine, too.
Pfft. I don't really mind S2. I'm just saying that because it's funny. To me, at least.

Let me put it in another way. I just checked all the Advanced forum threads. Create-A-Hero is the largest thread in this forum. The closest threads are about half our size.

<Snipped quote by Dedonus>

Yeah... the forum only counts posts for pages, not amount really.

I think the 3 GMs were intending, from the sound of it, on going into S2 at some point. At least that's the sensation I got from when they mentioned a while back about starting another thread for it. So at some point, S2 was about to happen and they chose after the incident with raptorman to do it. Allowing us to move with a fresh start.

In addition, we have about 3-4 players holding off on their PCs entrance because they assume there's going to be a new thread as the GMS, and some of us players already felt it was good idea. Unlike Blood Act, which is actually divided into 3 segments storywise, CAH doesn't have strict or predetermined places to cut off so this thread could technically go on forever without ever having to change into 'S2'.

This

The downside of a big broad sandbox game where virtually anything is possible, is accessibility.

It's one thing for those of us who have been soaking in this tub for a while... we're used to the temperature, newcomers though? Not so easy.

So it's good to have clear accessible entry points for new players to jump on.

I get that it's a bit of a disruption/distraction for those of us in here (although we try to give enough warning that players not only are not put out, but can even take the opportunity and thrive from the break and brief time-skip) but it needn't be a negative.

Comics and tv get that point of accessibility as well... its why they tend to have clearer points for these breaks where plot elements can easily be described for newcomers to get up to speed.

And this

I, personally (not sure about others), feel going into S2 makes introducing and adding cities like NY and Grant as bigger elements in the world easier since they are mentioned at the start. I'm even going to ask the GMs if I can help with the OP editing and addition of playable cities being listed there so players know their options. Namely as I know a few of us are going to fleshing out and playing in NYC, while I'm keeping Rach in Lost Haven so I can have multiple things I'm involve with. The New Season starts a few months after the current arc which likely means nothing extreme will be happening between the PCs as the cities are recovering from the Pax Arc results with new metahumans population levels. I'm sure NYC will be full of issues, and corrupted order to fix things since then.

You know by saying that you asked.

While I agree that it might be useful to have a list of cities where there are player characters, we would also have to mention that they are not limited to those cities.

Welcome true believers; welcome to All-Star Marvel, an intoxicating land where creativity for creativity's sake can take priority and enable you to render stories and events you could only have dreamed of in all of your previous mundanity. We welcome you to a unique narrative opportunity to take any Marvel character character and re-imagine them in a way that makes them pleasurable for you to write unique and original stories with. In this universe no events in the main Marvel comics continuity are considered canon. It is entirely contained within the forum and within your imagination. Am I over-egging it? Perhaps. It's still pretty cool to see.

Whether you're one for emotional drama or a sucker for physical trauma, the vast range of characters available could fit any genre or any purpose you could reasonably imagine. Is your interest piqued by a fresh interpretation of Bruce Banner that you really wanna try out? Own it. Love Thor but hate that darned old hammer? Sling it. Think that The Whizzer is in need of a drastic revival? That's good too. No-one is off limits here. Not even Doop. As long as they have appeared in a canonical Marvel tale on either the page or the screen they're free for refurbishment. Here, the MARVEL UNIVERSE is yours to mold.

Q&A

Q: 150+ IC posts already? This feels so intimidating!

A: Don't worry! We got your back. We don't expect you to have read every single IC post in the thread. It might be useful to read back a couple pages to see where everyone is at, but the current players can give you a brief summary of current events so that we can easily integrate you into the game.

Q: Um, I looked at the roster and it seems like a lot of characters have been taken. What do I do?

A: Don't worry. The Marvel Universe has an almost inexhaustible number of characters that can be used. Sure, some of the "big names" have already been taken, but there are plenty of characters to go around!

Q: Do you need anyone specific?

A: First of all, I would prefer that you play a character that you are interested in, not a character that we "need". However, knowing what characters you like can help narrow down the choices! Do you love the X-Men? You're in luck, because the X-Men have not been developed much in this roleplay. Do you adore the Marvel Netflix series? These characters are just waiting to be played! Do you desire to be a king? Black Panther and Namor are at your command! And this is just a sample of the characters that you can pick from!

Q: There is a Origin/Backstory section to the character sheet. Can I copy and paste the information there from [insert whatever wiki here]?

A: We have a specific word for that type of behavior: plagiarism. Plagiarism is NOT acceptable, whether here or in your academic papers (if you are in school). Sure, you can consult with these sources to write your character sheet, but you cannot copy them word for word. I am a bit more lenient on the powers section because there is only so many ways you can say "super strong, super fast, can fly".

Q: Hey, can I use my sample post as my first post in the IC?

A Yes.

Q: Are original characters allowed?
A No. However, you are free to reimagine existing Marvel characters so that they seem like an original character. If you want to use original characters, see the Create-A-Hero RPG here.

@FallenreaperBah, there's only 349 pages OOC, and 34 IC. That's shorter than most books I read in less than a day. Long is about half of the Wheel of Time series condensed into a single thread.

I think you underestimate how long each page of IC is. Between my three word documents for my characters, I almost have 300 pages in Micorsoft Word (single spaced with an additional space between paragraphs).
@Dedonus Well played. I'm trying to behave so I won't press the issue. Although I'm sure Arachne could do a lot of pressing..

Hey, keep best girl Arachne out of this.
<Snipped quote by Hound55>

I'm sure he'd love to be rushed by Arachne.. Hehe.

I doubt it. He doesn't want to be punched in the face for the second time (especially since he doesn't have his armor suit on at the moment).
<Snipped quote by Dedonus>

RUSH HIM!

That would make them not very good house guests.

And one who can destroy magic with a touch. But. Bollocks. I had thought Lyger was human. So does that make Eva the only normal one out of this meeting? I mean yeah she has a magic sword but she can leave it at home and be human with the exception that she can't bleed.

Um. I double quoted. I must have pressed it twice by accident or something. Sorry Hound.

Chris is technically normal. Sure, hes' rich, but at the moment technically everyone could gang up on him and he could do nothing about it.
