Suggested Tags

• Supernatural: Undead, Werewolves, Demons, Myths, and Legends
• Magic: Spells, Wands, Cults, Miracles, etc.
• Mystery: Solving crimes, conspiracies, puzzles, etc.
• Character Death: Chance of character deaths in RP
• Mentoring: GM is open to teaching new comers

Suggested Forum Improvements:

• Better Clarification between Free/Casual/Advanced - since so many arguments break out over this.
• Word Counter for post that display both while typing and when the post is posted - this will help Gms better set posting limits than vague para requirements. Not a big deal for free of course, but in casual and advanced could help with posting requirements. Characters are nice but that counts all the BB Code as well.
• "Whoa!" or "Feels" Upvote - There are plenty of great posts out there that don't fit the like/laugh/thank you but evoke some emotion whether it be anger or love or even face planting.
• Gm ability to hide posts - to cut down on the amount of times GM's have to get a mod to request it. (Not a big thing but would be nice)
• Co-Gm ability to edit topic.
• Ability to transfer Gm-ship to another Rper in case a GM needs to bail or goes AWOL for an extended amount of time - that way someone can take over, edit as needed, and keep the RP going without having the whole ~reboot~ issue and losing months if not years worth of posting.
• A 4th Miscellaneous Tab in RP for various things or even GM ability to move out dropped/dead PC's from the character tab elsewhere. Not a big deal for some RP's but for others would be a god send!

can we get an option to PERMANENTLY hide a post i.e. a shitposter posted in my thread saying 'first' and now i have an ugly ass 'hidden post' thing there that i'd like to just get rid of, it's just not relevant to me to 'hide' and only the mods should be able to see it. i'd rather have 19 posts per page and no ugly box, than 20 posts of which one is an ugly 'post hidden' box.

@Mahz conclusion was arrived to due to several reasons:

First, at the time of writing I believe Hank was in the process of being made co-admin but as of yet had only the title, none of the powers. That was my first piece of info to go off of.
Second, many of the problems the site has are inherent to this site and this site only (in my opinion) and like you said, many of the problem areas of the guild, while comparable to commercial analogues, are still problem areas that have yet to be changed. The delete button on PM's was a function that we literally had to request, whereas other commercial analogues have this function built in even on free-to-host forums, and for which the code is afaik freely available online for the most basic of functions. It's only recently that you updated us on, for example, the fact that you'd been trying to get some in-text editor to work. If I'd known that earlier, I wouldn't have made the comment I made, which leads to my next point:
And third, getting any piece of information from you generally takes (as this post has illustrated) upwards of a year or more. So my conclusion was probably wrong, but really, it was based on the only things I was aware of at the time. ;)

I'm unaware of your technical knowhow, nor do I really care. You've given us the guild and tbh that's about as much as I would want or could reasonably ask for, so don't take this as a critique of your technical knowledge or your ability to overcome the challenges. That post was just how I saw things at that time and now that you've been back a bit more consistently than at the time of writing that post, I'd agree that my opinion/view has changed.

And for what it's worth, I think one of the things that has kept me here despite some of RPG's glaring (to me) issues is the (G)UI. So imo that timesink has paid me off and kept me roleplaying here.

EDIT: yes and pls RPGC moved to the top of the board like I PMed you about a month or so ago. Also a hundred times yes to the suggestion of having background images (customizable pls, I want to be able to put furry porn there without anyone being able to see ;))))

Even Sasuke a prodigy only had Fireball jutsu as a new genin. Lee and Neji were already well into their genin years before they beat the shit out of Sasuke.

There is one advantage in this taking place during a Shinobi World War; A Genin team could be formed across allied countries as a ad hoc group, for military needs. That may be a bit sub optimal compared to being a group purely composed from one nation, but it is possibly a valid option for those on the same side I think.

Yeah, probably wise from a GM standpoint, although I reckon that'd be more something for a mission-by-mission basis because even allies didn't really trust each other from what I remember. They're shinobi after all.

@slackpack problem is you'd need at least three others in a given country to have a team (or so I suppose, not sure what the GM's are planning) so the decision to have 5 open villages probably means people are gonna need to run a multitude of characters to fill teams in each village.

@Red Alice Sadako will be in the leaf because her personality will match it best. Sakana will depend entirely on whether he's accepted because he's young, a jonin, and his kit is pretty strong, so I'll likely tone it down to be a bit more specific to him given the setting of this RP. I'm still unsure where, so if he's accepted by the GM's I'll probably use him to fill a hole in a team that needs a sensei. If he's not, I might transform him into a genin in whatever village needs a genin to fill a team.
