It took me 10 years to finally fill one of these out, but I finally did it. Welcome, stranger.

Cèad mìle fàilte

I'm Drache. I'm a millenial leftist from Scotland living in the US deep south. I'm a queer polyamorous kinkster. You can find me at PRIDE, at Ren Fair, at the local farmer's market, and the monthly dark party. I play D&D, I play Skyrim, and I play with gags and blindfolds. I'm your elder femdom, even though my bones hurt.

During the day I'm an emergency animal medical professional with 20 years in the field. On my off time I'm a dog show enthusiast, a karaoke singer, a baker, and a volunteer wildlife rehabilitator. I'm a collector of rare houseplants, of rescued exotic birds, of books, of tattoos. I'm the most feral spouse with the most domestic skills. I'm perpetually exhausted but endlessly impulsive.

If you're looking for a partner to share in your high fantasy, in your dark themes, in your deranged kinky monsterfucking, send me a PM.

What else is there to say?

- When you join an RP that is listed in the Advanced section but then it turns out that almost everyone else, including the GM, seems incapable of posting more than a paragraph at a time.

- How about when people passive-aggressively start picking apart another person's character in the OOC tab even after it's been approved by the GM. Bonus points for opinion-based attacks rather than actual legitimate concerns over that character's lore/mechanics. Suggestion: Take it to PM you asshats!

- The sheer number of RPers who can't play anything other than a human their own gender. I can't be the only person who has noticed the overwhelming number of "Female looking for male" interest checks. Ladies, why? You can't play a dude once in a while? What about someone with no gender? What about an alien? What about an intersex/hermaphrodite character? Branch out! I want to play with you but boy do I get sick of always having to play a guy (especially some young hunk that you have basically already designed before I got there) because you just won't. I can't tell if this is just a case of lack of confidence or just poor RP skill but if I see anyone with "I only play (insert gender)" then I don't think very highly of you. Sorry, not sorry.

Tromping over the bonnet of the jeep and bouncing down to the deck of the ferry with ease, Max moved to meet the others. It almost seemed a little ridiculous to have a military representative with them and she shook her head slightly at the sight of Elena's excessive baggage. Damn yank would have no idea how to handle inhuman insurgents. Max almost spoke up when Elena claimed she was on "the last dinosaur tour". Maybe they didn't know that feral populations of genetically recreated dinos had already been established on the mainland. And maybe they were dumb enough to think that this little party would actually be "the last". At any rate, she was just a veterinarian and it wasn't her job to correct them.

She missed it when the redhead attempted to shake her hand, or perhaps she was simply too busy eyeing Meryl's silver bracelets. But it wasn't a frown of contempt she displayed for the anti-outdoorsy young woman, but a slight grin. Whatever Meryl had done, if Masrani was willing to spring her from prison for this little escapade she must be good at her job.

After that, Tuvya started throwing his weight around as leader of their little pack so Max leaned back against the tail-end of her Jeep and crossed her arms over her bust. The full-sleeve tattoos down her arms almost made the limbs blend into each other with a semi-abstract impression of scales.

It seemed to Max that the others weren't expecting to run into any survivors but the veterinarian wasn't so sure. One thing she'd learned from so many field missions into the bush was that life was fairly tenacious, even human life. If indigeneous tribes could survive undiscovered in the bush for centuries alongside the predators of the modern world Max was sure a few people could have survived the relatively small number of days since the Jurassic World incident.

"We dunny seem to have a doctor with us but I did a tour with a RAF medical unit so if we come across anyone who's right crook or hurt I have a lot of the right equipment in here to deal with it." She slapped the metal side of the med-trailer.

When Tuvya indicated her, Max nodded with a bright grin and fluttered her eyelashes. "I am lovely. But in all seriousness, this isn't going to be like most surveying expeditions. These animals won't be available for any follow-up. Anything we find that is too injured to be fixed in one go will have to be euthed. Better that than letting it suffer." Something about the way she said it suggested the pretty vet would hold to the same standards when dealing with people.

She didn't comment about the Mosasaur. It should be easy enough for her to judge the viability of the containment system when she saw it. If it was anything like American cetecean enclosures it would probably fail long before the creature died of old age. She would also have to determine if the huge animal would be able to feed itself in such an environment. If not, they might as well kill it. If she agreed whole-heartedly with Tuvya on any particular point, it was on this one. The Mosasaur should not be allowed to roam wild in the world's ocean.

But that didn't stop her from smirking a little at his threats. Her intentions were her own. The two main objectives here were to look for survivors and assess the animals roaming loose on the island. She would be directly involved in both of those tasks with the others largely present to help make sure she could do her job. Typical.

The ride was not long and gave Max plenty of opportunity to check on her gear, making sure that the batteries and solar cell systems that would power her equipment in the trailer were all functioning. The supplies were wonderful but she ran her hands over virgin surgical packs and priceless medications with a her lips pressed in a thin line. The amount of money being thrown around here was criminal. What she wouldn't have given for access to this kind of gear while working with endangered croccodilians.

When they were getting closer and she could hear Tuvya over the grainy PA, she came out and spotted Meryl sitting in front of her Jeep. It appeared that the girl's stuff was already in the back seat too. Might as well make the invitation a formal one.

"G'Day. You don't seem too chuffed to be on this bodgy old tour. Can't blame you. Never got along with standover types like that Tuvya, myself. You're the techy type, yeah? Maybe you should ride with me until we find some research to destroy. I'll need someone to take the wheel if I have to drop a dino through the window."

She offered Meryl her bronzed and somewhat weathered hand to pull the girl to her feet and then glanced over the railing to see what Tuvya was talking about. She had a map of the park open across the dashboard in the vehicle and slid into the driver's seat to compare.

The day had been full of challanges for the pale-scaled dragonkin. Abandoning her usual routine out of the small temple in Mitrongi to answer Gladios Magnus' summons was different enough, but accepting the assignment to a rather rag-tag band of scaleless fighters on a poorly-planned errand to oust some scoundrels from their stronghold was, frankly, vastly removed from the cleric's usual pursuits.

Yet even as she struggled to remain upright on the sandy-coloured light horse that had been chosen for her by the others, her legs sore and her sharp teeth clacking inside her snout at every harsh trot, Rhindani felt a subtle push, a nearly imperceptible impression that this path had been laid out to her by Draconis Rex himself. Rhindani had felt this mysterious wordless reassurance several times in her life, and it hadn't proved to be false yet.

Regardless, by the time the seasoned fighters reigned their mounts in for the evening and sought out a place to make camp off the road, the dragonkin was highly tempted to use the divinity of Draconis Rex on her own aching limbs. Even her horse seemed exhausted, likely from being forced to carry such a novice rider, and Rhindani was convinced that it was only the beast's instinct to remain close to its fellows that had kept it moving over the miles they had passed through the day.

Clutching her blue shawl at her breast as she slid down from the saddle, the healer took a few moments to lean against's the creature's side, whispering an apology for her own ineptitude in her native language and giving it a few guilty pats on the withers.

"I'll get better," she promised.

It was fortunate that the stablehand who'd handed the palfrey over to her back in Mitrongi had been interested enough in the rare sight of a lizardfolk to find an excuse to talk with her and pass on a few basic tips, which was the only reason Rhin knew to loosen the cinch under the horse's belly to offer it some comfort through the night. She dragged her saddlebags down from the gelding's rump and set it down just long enough to tie the creature up with the others before heading to where the soldier types had started a fire.

The thick leather saddlebags and her satchel both landed with a thump in the dirt next to her bare talons and the dragonkin heaved a sigh. Both hungry and tired she wasn't sure which to address first.
The dragonkin stood serenely by while the others quibbled among themselves, arguing the merits of her plan. Rhindani's tail weaved slowly back and forth under the hem of her robe. She was nodding her hooded head agreeably at Hiroden's naysaying, having expected to be contested, but by the time Nicholas had ended his overly long-winded and not-quite-sensical diatribe she was sharing an incredulous and somewhat exasperated look with the female elf.

"The risk of my plan was only to myself, Nicholas. If I were to be captured or killed it would hardly be any detriment to the rest of you. I have faced the same risk many times on my pilgrimage from Metal City. I have treated patients who are more dangerous by themselves than an entire garrison of hired swords. But rest assured, I am perfectly content to remain here while you rush in." The horses would be better company, it seemed. It was difficult to suppress a smirk as the human stalked off, having played directly into her hands. Oh, she would have gone in if they'd agreed, but she never thought for a moment that they would. She could hear the dwarf's exuberant voice as he move to join the taller fighter but they were already out of earshot by then.

Preparing to spend a boring couple of moments waiting for the rest of them to smash their way into the guarded manor, she only wished it would be safe to meditate.

To Saida she smiled warmly, daring to clasp the other woman's bicep briefly. "Thank you for the protections of your patron, friend. At least it will be a comfort while I wait here. Trust a bunch of males to stir into action only after a female has elected to step forward first, hm?" She chuckled, a rather gravely sound in her inhuman throat. Assuming she remained behind alone, the healer settled herself in the shadow of a tree where she could see the gaggle of horses and the manor at the same time. Her heart pounded at the thought of having to be called upon to restore a life today, and she hoped that the rest of the group would find some manner of unity during the skirmish ahead to possibly minimize the need for her services.
I like how the least combative character is taking the most initiative here.
@Drache

You reminded me of this guy I used to know in wow...He was creepy as hell

Thanks, I think.
@OfWindAndRain Starting off your comment with "I have no problem with your character besides the fact..." implies that this character has been submitted for your approval rather than the GMs. Maybe you meant this as constructive but it does not come off that way. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if you have a problem with someone's char or not, all that matters is how the GM feels about it.

This is by no means an attempt to pick a fight, just giving YOU some constructive criticism about how to phrase things in a less rude way.
@OfWindAndRain No, criticising someone's character when you're not the GM is being an arse. If you have an issue you should take it to the GM and/or the player privately. It's not like your character's premise is perfect. If @Hysoka wants a character who discovered dino fossils in a slightly unconventional way, why can't he? In the real world dinosaur fossils are found by non-paleontologists all the time.
@OfWindAndRain
Good thing you're not the GM.
