Sister Sophia

Location: the Park - Quenched Forest Cinders -> Canyon near the Hidden Settlement
Talking with: Jin Sunrise @floodtalon, expecting drone arrival @Lugubrious

Sophia took a moment to catch her breath and then listened in elation at Sunspot’s enthusiastic response. She’d done it! she had converted someone with her words alone! Together they would sweep this land of the heretics and xenos!
He’s playing you for a fool. Which you are, by the way, for believing that hogwash.

They were of course just words... but she held out hope! She would need to get some kind of proper affirmation of loyalty of course, to ensure he was not simply a man with a serpent's tongue, but this was promising.

"This is excellent new, Emperor bless this day. I shall arrive shortly to cement your new found faith and our holy allegiance."

She continued on her way through the forest and the burnt remains of trees gave way to the same lush forest she had been in yesterday before she had burnt it to the ground. It was nice, the sounds of nature where causing Sophia to relax a little, which was perhaps not the best state to be in when there was an assassin around. In the relative quiet however that little seed of doubt was getting a chance to grow. The faithless where a untrustworthy lot by nature, their meek minds easy pickings for Chaos and xenos influence. Until his mind became an iron bulwark of faith he could not be considered an ally she reminded herself.

He hadn’t answered her question either. What did he really want. For what would a man risk his immortal soul for. Had he held that back deliberately, knowing the answer would give him away as a heretic?

"What was your wish anyway?"

About 10 minutes later, after a pleasant stroll that included briefly stopping to drink from a stream, she arrived at what she assumed was the narrow canyon mentioned by the announcer. It really was about the time that he said he would be sending another drone. At least she guessed that it was. She drew her melta pistol in her working hand and put her helmet back on before she began to carefully make her way down the dead end canyon, a little concerned that she was going to be ambushed within its confines.
@Shoryu

did the change cause similar mutations to people in the same area? or is it extremely sporadic with nobody in the same building getting the same change. is there even any possibility for duplicates?

Also I may be awful at drawing but an mspaint community world map sounds loads of fun

Althea giggled softly at Esther's embarrassment, her comment for people not to look was a little late as she suspected all the men had gotten plenty of an eyeful already. Anyway, It seemed queries about the nature of their presence at the fortress had been raised and the similarity between the wolf attack on them and the animal attack on Viola’s patrol was certainly curious. She made a slight addition to Tzi’s telling.

“The ghost turned out to be a woman with pink hair and hetrocro… differently colored eyes who was.. Petending? To be a ghost. Then she tried to grope me? It was weird. I honestly have no Idea what she was doing up there.”

She thought for a moment and then released

“...Didn’t the captain say not to speak about the events of our excursion?”

Her tone was not accusatory, as that would be hypocritical, but instead was more that of someone hesitantly trying to remember if what they were saying was correct She wasn’t sure if the captain had said not to speak of the enter incident or just the stuff she and Esther had read in the journal.

At any rate it seemed that they were going on a little journey with Viola and someone who was apparently Leon’s brother to the kitchen. She tagged along to keep an eye on the bruised girls injury, which turned out to be a good idea as they soon ran into even more injured people.

In this case they were all centred around Farris, who she imagined was responsible for most of the damages. While she didn’t exactly trust the dangerous woman’s medical analysis of Gradon there were other matters to attend to, namely the sobbing man on the floor.

“I’ll check in on Gradon once I’m done here.”

She informed the hastily leaving girls before she walked towards the wounded soldier.

“Don’t worry sir, I am a doctor and I am here to help”

Farris had definitely done a number on the poor man, on top of the obvious knee injury he had also seems to have received a strong blow to the throat.

She got to work fixing what she could.
@Lugubrious

with floodtalon posted I'll get something up on Monday or Tuesday
@Tessaract

oh well, i'll be on my way then. hope you have fun
I enjoy playing weird stuff so this sounds right up my alley.
if there's still space in this I am thinking of doing Edit: an illusion mage
@Lugubrious

waiting on @floodtalon to respond at the mo

edit: could do the supply dump arrival in a post i guess, but it would be a little screwy timeline wise to have that massive rant just hanging in the air like that.

”You’ll wear them?”

She was rather surprised and confused by the bird in the bear’s backpack’s comment as she was a bird and wasn’t flying what birds did? Then again she had really only ever seen parrots before so maybe that wasn’t the case? The situation was clarified a few moments later by the information that theirs didn't work at the moment.

”oh, then of course you can use them. Just be warned that I kind of threw up last time I put them on as they had the virus Fox mentioned in them when I got them. They might be safe now, they did change color and I never felt sick again after I put them on, but just be aware of that fact that you might feel a little off when you first use them.”

She certainly wasn’t opposed to someone using her stuff, particularly if it helped everyone survive their mission. Hopefully they didn’t grow so attached to the wings that she wouldn't get them back afterwards.
Howlite

Howlite followed after the others to the dyer area, a large cliff face on one of the surrounding hills. The ground in front of it was a much more solid version of the marsh they had landed in, similar green plants growing on a soft, though fortunately this time mostly dry, surface. The cliff itself was side on from the human town and slightly higher up, allowing a good view of the settlement and the ocean byond if you stepped out from the hill's shadow. In the opposite direction from the town was a forest and opposite the cliff and some way off were the marsh and crash site.

”If we are worried about shelter we could always use the drill to bore some tunnels into the cliff face”

She suggested.
