That is quite logical.

Other than arranging for at least some of her gear to be taken from the inn to the Thale manor, she won't be doing much, and she certainly expects to be questioned about it.

Seeing how there's been no formal claim by @sundered Echo on Urd yet, she's available for whomever wants to interact with her. As things currently stand, she will probably end up interacting with Lana soon, but that may take time before it can be initiated (a day or so IC, we suppose)

when we do work on posts, we tend to finish them quickly (as you can see from the last post, which was started and finished in a span of a few hours with Echo). Though he did have to push us for a day or so before it got started.

If you've got spare time, we can always work on a collab with pretty much anyone here that is near Urd.

The Morning After Urd Collapsed…

Thale Manor, in the heart of Nyhem, had become somewhat known as a safe haven for young mages in the City. Under Lanaya’s orders, Lord Dominus Thale had been making use of his modest house guard force to keep an eye on the city and peacefully bring stray potential mages to the house, that they might be sent to the Circle for a proper education. Though the events of the previous night did not exactly fall under this briefing, they were sufficient for the older Lord to feel it was worth investigating.

As such, the guards of House Thale had brought the unconscious young mage to the Manor, and when the city guard captain had agitated over not knowing what to do with a criminal iceblock, Lord Thale had ordered his men to take that into their custody as well.

Thus it was, that come the morning, a young mage-girl was asleep in the Manor’s guest room, and a slowly melting block of ice with questionable intent was secured in the small, two-cell dungeon off the Manor’s basement.

The second story guest room was warm, both due to the morning sunlight streaming in through the windows, and the insulated walls that kept the heat in and the sound of the always-busy city out. A maid, a dark haired lass named Mary, was in the room laying out a set of fresh clothes for the guest - simple, utilitarian clothes instead of anything more fitting of nobility. As much as the Lord of the house would’ve liked to treat all such guests as his own children and lavish gifts upon them, he knew most of them were eager to move on to the next destination.

The first thing Urd noticed upon waking up was the fact that this was not her room at the Plucked Hen. The ceiling was not rough, wooden beams. That alone would make it clear. Instead, it was painted the color of the fresh grasses of spring. In between the pounding drums in her head, she slowly took in her surroundings.

The walls had a similar level of opulence. This was definitely far more than an inn. As it was presumably a guest room and not a dungeon, it wasn’t the church. Either it had to be a rich merchant’s house, or a noble one. She didn’t know of any particular rich merchants, and it was far more likely for the guards to associate with the nobles. The choice of color scheme told her next to nothing, so that didn’t help.

After taking in most of her surroundings, she realized that she wasn’t alone. There was a servant in the room. The servant had dark hair and a servant’s dress of white linen marked with a yellow and gold sigil that was not immediately familiar to Urd. From the looks of that, a prosperous but not a rich house. “Where am I?” she asked, her throat dry, so her voice was not altogether clean.

“Oh!” The servant exclaimed in surprise, jumping slightly. “M’lady, you’re awake!” After a moment, she had recovered, and spoke more calmly. “You are in Thale Manor. Lord Dominus Thale rescued you from the city.” Of course she didn’t know with any certainty the means by which their guest had been recovered, but she had heard the usual servants gossip. “I will fetch his Lordship - he can explain better.” She said, moving to leave.

Upon realizing just how sore her throat was, she only listened while looking for some water to drink. Fortunately, there appeared to be some on a side table. She did not stop the servant from leaving. Fortunately, nobody had messed with her clothes. She did not want anyone to see what lay underneath those, both out of shame and fear. Most people did not trust mages, and of those who did, few would ever trust anyone malformed by it. Though there were clothes laid out, she did not move to change, as there was no telling how long the servant would need to fetch this Lord Thale. She did sit up and drink plenty of more water, though. If anything would help with the headache, that would be it.

It took only a minute for the Lord to arrive. He was dressed in green, in tailored clothes that de-accentuated his mildly rotund nature, though anyone familiar with the fashion of the courts would see that he was a little behind the times in that area. “Ah! Young lady, good to see you are awake!” He said boisterously. “You were dreadfully pale when we found you. I was concerned you’d taken ill.” He strode in and took a seat in the largest of the several chairs in the room.

“Forgive the forward and blunt nature of this question, but I must ask.” He adjusted his weight in the chair before continuing, in a serious yet concerned voice. “Are you in any immediate danger? My guards tell me you were found in rather strenuous circumstances.”

“Drained only, milord. Not ill.” Her tone now that she’d woken up completely and drunk sufficient water was perfectly polite, giving some hint to her having been educated at least somewhat. “I should not be in any immediate danger, though.” at that point, her stomach made clear its lack of satisfaction with its lack of things to digest.

Dominus nodded as she spoke, his face lightening somewhat at the reassurance. “Where are my good manners?” He said when her stomach rumbled. “How long is it since you ate?” He asked, not expecting an answer, as he continued to speak, springing to his feet. “Are you in a mind to dine with me at the table or would you prefer to eat here? The kitchens are quite efficient, and will happily prepare a full meal as well should you desire, despite the early hour.”

“Your manners are impeccable. I merely burned a lot of energy yesterday. Dining at a table is certainly more proper than eating here. My manners are certainly not as good as they should be.” She got to her feet and managed to not stumble or do anything else improper. Curtsying properly as befit her rank, she presented herself. “My name is Lady Urd Raudhfell.”

“Lady Raudhfell?” He said, looking as if he was trying to recognise the name. “It is a pleasure to meet you.” He said with a half bow. “It will take a short time for the kitchens to prepare a meal, so you will have time to change if you wish. Ring the bell” He said, motioning to a thick velvet rope hanging from the roof - “If you wish a servant to assist you, or when you wish to have them show you to the dining hall. In the meantime, I implore you to treat my house as you would your own. You are our honored guest.” He bowed slightly again, then turned on his heel and left the room, giving her some space.

She thanked the Lord Thale before he left, then stood there in silence for a few minutes to think. She did not feel comfortable replacing her own clothes, stained though they were. She certainly appreciated the offer, though. This place was still far too unfamiliar. After looking herself over again, she rang the bell and asked a servant to show her to the dining hall.

Mary returned swiftly, acknowledging the request to be shown to the hall. They descended down an elegant flight of stairs to the ground floor, where the large room was, passing by various paintings of the previous Lords and Ladies Thale. Mary gave brief summaries of them as they passed them by, with the name and a their most prominent deed. She was clearly fairly proud of the House she served.

The table was much larger than necessary for two people. It would easily have hosted fifteen, maybe twenty people, but it was set only for two. Several other servants were just bringing out bread and various cheeses, though the smell of something more substantial wafted from the nearby kitchens.

“Lady Raudhfell.” Dominus said, acknowledging her as she entered the room. “Clothes not to your liking? I can have my servants fetch something more fitting for your station if you wish?”

“Lord Thale.” She smiled at the sight of food. “I prefer more spartan clothes, but there is no need to send a servant for any of that. I got plenty at the Inn where my family stays the rare times we visit Nyhem. These clothes suit me admirably for now.” When it was appropriate, she seated herself at the table, a bit unused to having a servant push the chair in as she sat down. She did suppose she should get used to such now that she truly was at court.

Dominus tore a piece off the loaf of bread in front of him and took a slice of cheese, taking a mouthful and chewing before speaking at a fairly leisurely pace. “If I might indulge in a question… What brings a noble of Cawanor” - he had guessed her place of origin by her name “And a mage no less, to this fair city, and then places her in such an unusual circumstance as did occur last night?”

As the Lord Thale spoke, Urd ate a few pieces of bread, waiting a little with the cheese. “There is no simple answer. On one hand, there is the brooding war and getting to know the lay of things, on the other is some family business.” she took a bite out of a piece of hole-riddled cheese, then continued. “As for how I came to be where I was yesterday? That was purely accidental. I saw a pair of assassins strike at a woman. I think there was something familiar about her, but I am not sure what. As is only proper, I tried to protect her, but I don’t know if I succeeded, for they struck her first. I did take down one of them though. The other ran off.” She then continued eating, waiting to see what Lord Thale would say.

“Very noble of you. Ahhh…. I remember the days when I would’ve done just the same, leaping into the fray mace in hand to save a fair damsel! Alas, time has not been kind to me.” He motioned slightly to his body - he was clearly not in fighting shape anymore. “I presume that the frozen individual downstairs is the one you took down. The captain of the guard was quite unsure what to do with that… And only too eager to hand the whole situation over to me. My house has become somewhat specialised in dealing with magical affairs you see. Magister Lanaya has taught us a great deal about how to properly approach the most unusual situations.” He stopped himself then, seeming to realise he was beginning to ramble, and moved onto a more relevant topic.

“You said you had family business? And an Inn where you were staying? I do hope I haven’t whisked you away from family in my desire to aid you. The guard said you had muttered something about a place to say, but they ignored you. They were quite unsure what to do with you, I heard some were considering locking you up.”

Urd smiled at the idea of the almost portly Lord Thale jumping into combat, then quickly realized that he was probably quite a different man in his youth. He could easily have been the warrior he claimed to have been. “The block of ice is the one assassin, yes.” She thought a bit on the mention of this ‘magister Lanaya’. She knew that mage, and had even studied under her at one point, but years have passed since they last met. “I travel alone, without the rest of my small family. My mother and my grandparents manage the lands and I have yet to meet my father.”

“That is a relief.” Dominus began, eating another chunk of bread with cheese. “I suppose it is a good thing I have the block of Ice in a cell then. Perhaps I shall assign another guard just to be safe though. Assassins are often more skilled than typical thugs… Do you think he survived? Lanaya will likely have questions for him if he did.”

“Not really sure. He might be alive, though he will probably die if a healer isn’t present as he thaws.” At that point, servants came in carrying several platters with more filling food. After they put them down and took away the cheese, Urd waited a moment before helping herself to some meat.

“I shall have a healer fetched then. It would not do for a killer with possibly interesting or valuable information to die in the Thale dungeon. The Magister would not be pleased at all.” With that, he began to dig into his own serving of meat, telling various tales of his younger years in between mouthfuls.

Once they had finished, he returned to the present, saying “My Lady, though you of course are free to leave whenever you desire, I must once again offer my hospitality to you. As a mage and fellow noble, you are welcome in this house any time, for as long as you wish. We have rooms aplenty, and, not to disparage your traditional Inn, we can provide more than any Inn in this city.”

If she was to fit in at court, it might be better to stay with a noble, and from what she did remember about the magister was that she had a sensible head on her shoulders. Any noble that could get along with her was probably as safe as the inn, if not safer. “What’s in it for you if I should stay here?” she asked, politely asking to be sure she would not be a burden.

Dominus chuckled lightly at that. “Your pleasant company of course. And when Lanaya returns from abroad, I’m sure she will want to speak with you - on magical theory most likely. It's all above my head but i’m sure you will find it most interesting.”

We assume the reference to Force Sight here is a low level one, simply using it to augment his natural sight (with things like being able to understand writing that is otherwise blurred because the Force tells him its meaning). This low level application would make sense not being listed in the powers section. If you intended him to have more of the unique attributes of Force Sight though, I’d expect it in the powers section...

The choice of wearing optical devices is naturally voluntary.
Otherwise, fairly good.
Hair or eye color, even normal wear type? Currently, there’s only his height and built that is mostly described which doesn’t give people a whole lot to work with when they go to form their own opinion of your PC.

A Sith knows the ways of the Force. How do you prefer to use it?

How good is he with these Force powers?
Crucitorn is not a power that is used upon others, it is used inwardly to change one’s own perceptions.
From where is he learning Sith alchemy? A holocron or another Sith?

Considering his natural aptitude for medical stuff, why was he not initiated into the arts of Sith Alchemy earlier?

All obstacles have to be removed or overcome, so what skills do you possess to aid you?

Some more elaboration on other skills would be nice. It’s a nice start so far.
Does he have any hobbies/interests unrelated to “medical” fields?

Everyone has a past. What brought you here and what challenges did you have overcome to reach your current situation?

So the empire found his home system two years into the war. Was it a spoil of war? Or was it outside both republic and empire?

It might not be ill-advised to note that being trained as a Sith was not a choice. Imperial law dictates that all Force-sensitives must be trained as Sith.

As he was in his teens, he was old enough to have true feelings on the matter. How did he feel about this turn of events?

It might make sense for Nyiss to have requested him as apprentice simply for his aptitude with medical and alchemical arts. Being her apprentice does not mean much direct training or even contact though.

Were there any parts of his training that failed? What sufferings did his instructors heap upon him?

It doesn’t state clearly he went to the academy (we’re assuming that based on the rest of the bio) or what conflicts he had to deal with and overcome during his training. The sith, as stated in the guide, start off purely learning and engaging in activities with low level danger. However as they progress that grows while rivalry and even conflict is encouraged, especially those favored by the overseers. In addition, they would’ve try to strengthen his weaknesses to a point or make him suffer for them to a point so how did he deal with those events? Also, it’s unlikely the academy would’ve sent him to Nyiss unless she asked for him specifically, but rather just showed him the door and let him do as he pleased.

We all learn about lightsaber combat, so what form(s) and skills in fighting have you found reasonable to learn?

How skilled is he with the lightsaber and the forms? Does he practice something close to “pure” Makashi, or does he use a mix of multiple forms?

How do you relate to the other characters and how do you see them?

“Republicans” is an earth term, in particular USA. “Citizens of the galactic republic” or such is more appropriate. Or simply use “the republic”.
Aside from that, this section isn’t half-bad.

With peers in the Empire, keep in mind that rivalry and competition was highly encouraged and even accepted. In addition, Sith were considered pretty much superstars or highly valued that with normal civilians, they could nearly get whatever they wanted by merely pulling rank. While it’s possible he could consider polite, some might actually take advantage of this behavior to pull in above him or make him look weak. Some might just put a target on him mainly because he’s got some power and push him underneath them.

How powerful is (s)he in the Force?

Good enough.

Has your character encountered members of the other factions before?

In other words, he has not encountered any of them yet, but he’s looking forward to it?

That sounds a bit off, especially since the Sith and Jedi were locked in a 28 year war. While he might’ve not been on the frontlines, the odds of not at last briefly encountering a Jedi or so is very slim when he’s patching up those Empire troopers coming from the frontlines. One thing to consider is that the closer you are to the frontlines, the more dangerous and likely that the war will directly affect your PC. People directly in the fighting risk harm and death, those on the sideline risk their position being over run or capture by their enemy, and those farthest often risk reputation and resources to the aftermath. Each affecting the individual, but at different levels and fashions. With his medical ability, I would say the middle one would be the most likely.

What is your character’s personality like? What motivates him/her?

Does such pain and suffering encourage him? Or is he utterly oblivious?

If he should be the victim of such himself, how would he take it?

All sith are of the highest class in imperial society. Is he among the highest tier of society among sith (of his rank)

Nobody with any sort of wisdom wants to speak of their flaws. Especially not to their enemies, so what are your character’s flaws?

Sith tend to be loners who don’t seek to interact with other Sith except when it is business. What will cause your character to initiate interactions with the other Sith?

At sixteen years of age, having any real skill in more than one form is pretty rare. Basic knowledge about other forms and a rough idea about how to counter them is perfectly fine, though. “Skilled” implies having spent considerable time studying a form.

Are there any skills other than lightsaber, investigation/study, piloting and navigation she possesses? They need not be altogether “useful”.

It wouldn’t hurt to break this up into two-three paragraphs.

Use of the Force

While the skills are presented, spotting individual skills takes a bit of extra time. You specify that he’s primarily training in skills that affect him personally. How much training does he have in other uses of the force, like telekinesis, mind tricks, etc.?

What can he do with his talent for using the Force upon animals? Is he better at dealing with carnivores/herbivores, birds/lizards, large/small beasts or anything like that, or is it universal for most animals? Why did his master start teaching him crucitorn? It’s a rather specialized skill, not one typically taught to all jedi.

Other skills

Again, break it up into paragraphs, please. Currently, it’s all bundled together, making it somewhat difficult to spot individual skills. Having that easier will be useful for others later in the IC. You don’t need much more elaboration on the existing skills, though. They’re pretty well-defined. You could split them up into types of skills. Those related to combat probably won’t naturally be grouped with things like cooking or piloting, just as social skills probably won’t be with meditation. Just some ideas, mind you.

History

The bio is especially prone to paragraphs with a bit excessive length, which makes it more difficult to read. That in turn makes it harder to pick out individual moments of relevance. A paragraph tends on average to have 3-5 sentences, but that can flex based on the sentence lengths. Shorter sentences tends to mean more per paragraph (and visa versa), but it's not a universal rule. The guild tends to have longer lines than a typical book would, so a paragraph that ends up at above eight lines can be tough to read.

Echani have such a nice and direct way to learn about others… How did he feel about being conscripted into the Jedi Order? Did his mother approve? At some point, Padawans are allowed to go back and reconnected-through few ever do because it’s discouraged- so with that in mind, did he ever want to? And if he didn’t, why?

It would not be unlikely for him to be grouped with other echani younglings/initiates. Or at least with those from other cultures of somewhat martial natures. At least one of his instructors as an initiate would probably be echani, simply because they would understand him best. They Jedi Order is actually fairly practical like that. Then they would start to branch off to introducing different races, like starting with some that were less like them (Zabraks communicate through body language for example, but also depend on scents and words a bit more than Echani) and steadily increasing the exposure to include more and more species. Khan could’ve had trouble with the adjustments which could still lead to his alienated feelings and create a whole emotional experience for him not to easily succeed over something he was tasked with.

How recently did he become Denso’s apprentice? How did his initiate trials go? Which of them was he most worried about and why?

calmness in captivity

Jedi also teach moving meditation. Through the two forms might clash with Echani having little issue with aggressive, and attacking movements compared to the Jedi’s likely slower, and more controlled movements. Fallen: I often think of Tai-chi when it comes to Jedi’s style of moving meditation because that form fits well with their beliefs and comes off as peaceful and in control compared to others.

Resistance

This section is ok.

Lightsaber

This section looks ok, but the last paragraph feels rather large and chunky. We’d recommend you break it down into two paragraphs or so for easier reading.

prisoner/sith encounters

It would be nice if you could fill something in here, even if it is that he’s not met any of the other PCs prior to the day of the sacking. Other than Denso, that is.

Strike team/rescuers

There is no requirement for having met any, but if you haven’t met any of them, you could always add a bit about how you think he’ll react to meeting a couple of them. For example, the Rescuer leader, Gar Halcorr, has probably had a lot to do with various initiates and younglings over the years, and he does tend to leave an impression.

He can have difficulty in learning things outside combat, his attention is hard to retain over a topic he finds boring, etc. Maybe he’s a mischievous or likes to fight his fellow Jedi when he’s feeling upset, mainly to work out the emotions and does it without warning against the one he disagrees with or a friend. Show a bit of the child within him despite his maturity as it’s possible many of those habits haven’t fully left him yet. That’s why he’s assigned to Denso after all.

It still feels like you’ve got it written as if he wasn’t aware of his work at rebuilding his lightsaber. Though he might not be aware of the why of the work, he is aware of exactly what he is doing in this process. At best, it might be that he is only inspired to make the sabers capable of interlocking towards the end of the crafting. As he is an artisan, it would make sense to cover the process of going through inspired artisanry in some detail. How he thinks during such. What stimuli he tunes out, what he needs/wants, etc.

Hmm… Would he use inspirational music for this? Or does he prefer silence? Is it an art practiced in solitude, or something he’d do in a communal workshop?

Could you add a couple of line breaks between the sections below relations? Right now they’re pretty bunched-together.

“Beskab” We presume you mean “Beskad” as in the Mandalorian blade?

Why are the vials limited to 5m in range? Does it shoot a vial? A needle? A spray of gas? Something else?

As Jedi/sith are very difficult to knock out, the serum is presumably stronger than it would be for a “mundane”, what would happen if he hits one of those instead? Oh and how would they affect him if he somehow got hit with it instead of an enemy?

There’s still a few spelling errors, but its far better than it was before.

As he went for his pistol I grabbed his helmet and smashed his head with it. As the dazed soldier tried to regain his bearings Vebra kept hitting him.

Here’s an instance where you forgot to change from third to first person.

Tips for beginning GMs/Content creators

Take what time you need to plan things out. Waiting a week or a month extra with launch is worth it if it means the RP will survive longer.

Oh, and get a good co-GM or two to help you plot things, or at least someone to discuss (or argue) with. That'll help find flaws you yourself won't easily spot.

Don't be afraid to start an RP over. Sometimes, flaws that snuck in during planning cannot be solved any other way. Its better for all to start it over as a new version than to keep going with something broken.

Pretty sure the redundancy on google's systems is better than anything we can set up ourselves. (mind you, it also helps that we can edit texts from wherever we're on net too)

Have we been writing Character Sheets wrong?

We personally think about these things when formulating a CS template. Our current RP (linked in signature) has three separate templates for characters belonging to different factions and rather than merely have a point labeled "Appearance" the relevant point on each template has a full question.

Each template approaches it in different ways. Most players tend to either go for one set of clothes or go all-out into a wide wardrobe. To give an example from one of the templates:

As a prisoner, your wardrobe is limited. When you were captured, how do you look and what clothes do you have on now?
