The Encyclopaedia of Hell

Hell Itself

Hell is composed of 73 districts, each with multiple layers to accommodate for a population of human spirits that rarely, if ever, decreases. These layers are separated by time frame, with one layer for every decade. Needless to say, there are a lot of layers.

A single river, perhaps known as the Styx, runs through the top layer of these districts, depositing dead people randomly to the shores, after they have fallen into said river and gotten knocked out by the impact. It isn't uncommon for districts to have organizations dedicated wholly to the collection of washed-up dead people, helping them adjust to life in hell.

Hell has no sun, only a sky that goes from day to night while pretending that there's a sun in the air.

Academia Abyssus is located on the 73rd District, managed by Headmistress Luu DeSeras.

Resurrection

People don't die when they're killed in hell. Immediately after they are killed, their body automatically begins to heal up any injuries or abnormalities that have occurred. Bullets are pushed out, viruses are eradicated, bones are knit back together, severed body parts will be magnetically drawn to each other once more, all that good stuff. Resurrection time correlates with how severe the injuries are. Someone who died from a headshot would resurrect faster than someone who got their body torn to shreds and then eaten.

When people die, they usually resurrect on spot. However, there exists 'totems' that can be set so that, when someone dies, their body is transported to the location of the totem, before they begin resurrecting. It's magical though, meaning that there are still counter-measures to that.

The Purging ability that Lucifer and a few select individuals have will permanently destroy a body, making resurrection impossible.

Funny story, Sakuya, is that the Guild was dead to me till yesterday, when I got bored enough that I decided to reuse a concept and see how it goes.

That's what they always say. But sure, whatever, throw something up. Thankfully, it's really easy to get rid of people in a setting where death is a common occurrence.

Also...why DID he save the girl? Seeing how his nihilistic views would be something like "she's going to die eventually regardless, so why bother?"
