Kress Alstein

15 y/o | Male | 5'1 | 109 lbs

Personal Information
Date of Birth: July 13
Hobbies: Studying Magic, Clothes Shopping, Fine Dining, Water Painting, Learning
Personality
Kress is happy and sheltered, someone who doesn’t really mind or care about the Class C curse at all. After all, while others may be at Avalice to graduate (never mind that the chances of graduating is 5%), he’s just happy to be in school at all. Friends to study and play with, teachers to learn from, and the most fascinating subject of all to study. Who could ask for any more, really? So long as he didn’t fail, Kress was pretty much fine with everything else; after all, he’s set for life just based off interest and inheritance alone!

History
Third son of the illustrious Alstein family, a lineage of aristocrat-mages who distinguished themselves seven generations past and had been granted lands and prestige that they cared for and made prosperous ever since, Kress Alstein was the baby of the family, sheltered and cared for by all his older siblings. An adorable, if sickly, kid growing up, Kress’s frail constitution and penchant for getting into trouble had pretty much ended with him never once leaving his family’s estate. Which, to be fair, was 100 acres of orchards, old-growth forests, rivers, and a white sand beach, but to him, accustomed to it all as he was, it still felt confining. His brothers and sisters would head off to Genelogia every week and come back with armloads of new stuff, from good food to fine clothing, and all Kress could do was watch them!

So he resolved himself. He studied hard. He exercised where he could. He made it his first conviction to convince his parents to let him out of the estate, away from all those familiar faces and into the great unknown of Genelogia! A boarding school, perhaps? An academy? No, even better…how about the Academy?

With persistence and results of the magical kind, Kress, after much trouble, got his parents to agree to send him to Avalice. It was the greatest school on the continent, after all, and every one of the professors was a wizard or warrior of some fame. Where else could be safer than the Alstein Estate, if not the school that pumped out Legends every year? A generous donation and five letters of recommendations later, and Kress was finally off on his own!

He didn’t even mind being placed in Class C; he was just happy to be here.

Combat Information
Classification: Magic
Mana Color: A blue akin to ocean water, in that it’s not really a blue after all.
Mana Characteristic: Comforting and peaceful, the ebb and flow of the tides, the soft seeping of the spring, the gurgling of the stream.
Equipment
Abacus – A silvered frame, with nine rods, each containing seven beads. The frame can be altered, lengthened both width-wise and length wise to insert more beads or more rods, but for Kress, his current configuration is what he’s comfortable with. Each individual rod contains beads that represent the same element, and by moderating the separation and grouping up of the beads, one can cast a variety of magic in a manner more flexible than with book-bound grimoires. The elements Kress currently has are Earth, Fire, Wood, Metal, Water, and Aether.

Magic: Abacus Magic – Creation Calculation
Spells:
Make Chair (3 Wood) Makes a wooden chair, fit for Kress’s size.
Make Clean (2 Aether, 1 Water, 1 Fire, 2 Wood) Makes a sphere of soapy water that floats in the air, rotating at fast speeds.
Make Tea (1 Wood, 1 Earth, 1 Water, 1 Fire) Makes hot tea where Kress designates a location.
Make Shield (3 Aether, 2 Metal) Makes a translucent barrier, suspended and locked in space.
Make Spear (4 Metal, 2 Aether) Makes a sharpened stake of metal, before launching it at a designated target.

Techniques:
The Kress Alstein Special Runs away.

When Raime begins to do chest compressions on Krizantemë, Krizantemë will take single digit amounts of damage per single chest compression.

This is actually comedy gold and I love it.
Probably gonna make an enchanter mage or something. We'll see how things fall.

To confirm, Blu, is there a plot you've got in mind, or is it more slice-of-life, character development-y stuff?
@Ariamis Eyo, thought that this would probably be a better way of contacting you when you're offline.

In Evira's room, are there screens showing what's going on in the room that Hyun Long and Eden are in?

Is Hyun Long actually a famous person with some reputation, or are they just some random monster queen that no one should know of?
Locked out for 24 hours.
@Versa Don't forget to edit your character sheet to include the new sheets n all.

Immediately upon respawning, Krizantemë collapses and can not get up. He has a lot of difficulty breathing; it feels like something is pressing down against his lungs. Red Lightning is in pain. It feels as if the skin of his body is being rubbed raw every time he twitches, and the heat of the sun sears into his senses. Calace and Amulak both feel like they're two times as heavy as they actually are, and it takes focused effort to move; they fatigue very easily.

Everyone else is fine.

With character creation completed and user experience selected, Minerva presents you with one final option, perhaps the only option that had no input in. You all decided upon Horogi, after all, whether you were outvoted or were ambivalent. Though it’d be pretty funny if you picked another nation and then sent your friends on a wild goose chase to search for you, that’d get old fast enough, and you’d be the one who was screwed.

After all, Cacophony Concord’s death penalty was a nasty one, and its infamously lethal difficulty had social media influencers all over the globe calling it ‘the Animal Crossing of VRMMOs’.

So Horogi it was.

Minerva bowed their head one more time.

“Through trial and tribulation, may you find what it is you seek.”

You open your eyes, and find that you are standing.

The City-State of Nyu-Taro was as lively as always.

Though ostensibly meant to be a neutral ground for new players to acclimate to their situation safely, its position as a neutral ground also meant that buddies who aligned with different clans could, within the walls of the city, chat and party and start shit with each other, all without earning any demerits with their own clans. Nation-wide rankings could also be seen here, and Nyu-Taro’s fighting pits were almost always open, both for associations, businesses, and aristocratic families to settle their disputes through ‘non-lethal’ mortal combat, as well as for those who simply wanted to show off their strength for some cash. The Rinkan Annihilation Tournament had just recently concluded, and the feverish excitement that it had stoked up was still present. Many people, NPCs and PCs alike, were still basking in the afterglow of the gloriously badass finals.

Paper lanterns, adorned with the fighters’ faces, were strung up and laced between tiled roofs. Business-minded merchants were hawking wares of embarrassing, but novel quality, while the members of the Ryoku-Jo clan took it upon themselves to parade through Nyu-Taro’s wide streets. It was a fighter aligned with them, the Flamebringer Princess, who won first place in that bloody affair, and the hoisting of their banners, the beating of their drums, ensured that no one else forgot that either. Through it all, adventurers of all shapes and sizes pushed through the teeming crowds, in search of monsters to slay and quests to take. Some would rush for the Goldspun Fields to strike down on the universally prolific mob monster in Cacophony Concord: goblins. Others would go farther, perhaps exploring the length of the Pearl Bloom River in search of kappas and other water-bound creatures. There was the Thunder Split Grove too, of course; for those confident and competent, they could test their skill against the oni tribes lingering within that lightning-struck forest.

For those who have respawned, however, and for those who have just appeared for the first time, what they would first see would be one of Horogi’s many Keystones. The size of a three-story building, the Keystone was a boulder wrapped in braided rope and plastered with pulsating talismans, both a tool for resetting one’s level and swapping one’s available classes, as well as point in which they could establish their respawn location.

It was there, in the very center of Nyu-Taro, on a bright and festive day, that nine new players manifested…

…and immediately encountered some problems.
So there's no underlying system behind magic? It's more like superpowers?
But does he have a Patreon? And a G Fuel sponsorship?

Also, understandable, RC3. Peace.
