Maybe I'll play Cyberpunk 2077 some more. My brother maxed out my character a year and a half ago. Haven't seen him since. Miss him.

”Mr. Dawson, why don't you have a seat?” He said, gesturing to the brown leather chair he had his hand resting on.

The men behind Adel stepped forward. They each placed a firm hand around his upper arms, half-guiding, half-dragging Adel to the seat. If Adel struggled in any way, their plan would have been quickly subduing him with a blow to the cheek - but besides tensing up, the man didn’t fight.

They shoved Adel into the seat, twisting it so it faced the mirror. Vincent still had that smirk on his face as he picked up a bowl of shaving cream and an applicator brush on the counter.

Slowly, methodically, Vincent applied shaving cream to Adel's face while speaking.

”Now, my men tell me that you and your spies have decided to make it your home in White Pine. Not that I care too much about that.”

He set down the bowl, picking out a barber's blade instead. He opened it, the fresh gleam of a clean, sharp blade within.

“What I really care about, though, is who set you up to do this.”

The blade pressed against Adel's neck as Vincent leaned over, staring at the man through the mirror.

”So, what'll it be, Canary? You gonna sing?”

Nocturnal Memoirs (2024)

"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

Outside Yusei's Domain, The Labyrinth

@Asuras

"It is as though the Labyrinth is breaking down,"
Cygni

"I was right, this is not something achievable by another mage. Not one of our lifetimes. This can only be the work of something on par with Yusei.”
Erina

It was all wrong.

Reina glanced between the two of them. Cygni focused, Erina hot with worry. They made observations that led the mind to a conclusion. A conclusion that, for all intents and purposes, could very well spell the end of Asher as a power house.

Reina's eyes cast up, searching the sky once more as they walked. No sign of Yusei's servants. None of the guards, the patrollers, the ever-watchers. Instead, there was an insidious wind.

Reina's gaze flicked to the cracks around them, the weaving of the fabric of the labyrinth itself bare and naked, marking an unholy act. The labyrinth, the blood and water of mages around the world… crumbling? Was it localized? If it was, and it was growing as they reached the epicenter of Yusei's Domain…

What would the hand of a god look like, if it were to slay a being like Yusei?

Reina's eyes widened, her teeth grinding as she looked up at the collapsed ring of skyscrapers.

What if Yusei…? What if he…? It would explain the pained sense of wrongness, would it not?

Reina's eyes iced over, staring ahead, narrowed.

No, she didn't have the luxury of panic. Or jumping to conclusions. But one thing was for certain. They had to reach Yusei's Domain as quickly as possible.

Reina picked up the pace, breaking into a jog, her ruffled sleeves and cape swishing erratically in the malevolent wind behind her.

“We'll be going at a light run for the rest of our journey. Keep an eye out for the spider lilies. If they're damaged in any way, I'll want you two to return to the portal to gather reinforcements while I pursue ahead.”

The spider lilies that glittered in Yusei's Domain, they were connected to the great being's temperament. Red was a typical color of feeding, death and rebirth enacted on Realspace. Black never boded well, indicating an unholy wrath upon the noble being. And withered gray?

It meant Lord Yusei was dead, or near it.
<Snipped quote by Estylwen>

That's actually a really cool opening that I dig. How resistant to breakouts is Zi's dynasty? If Ken were to attempt summoning a door to the paths of Sage Kai, as is his usual method of interdimensional travel, would if be blocked?
Thanks for taking the info onside, as always you're incredibly graceful!

Thanks! Fights are suppose to be fun, so I'm just trying to make it as enjoyable and fair as possible.

Well, looking at Zi's sheet:

He has a ferryman that can travel across the ‘river Styx’, a network of fourth dimensional pathways that connect all over Shimmer. It should be noted that these pathways are contained in Shimmer, and do not bleed into other dimensions.

I would say an interdimensional door would be blocked, as the River Styx inherently can't support it. It's like... Shimmer is all 2D, and the River Styxx is a 3D overlay. It can go all over the 2D plane from different angles, but can't access anything higher. Ken's doorway would be like going into 4D, but because the River Styx is sealed off from interaction with 4D movement, a door wouldn't manifest. Or it's like River Styx is the fourth time dimension, it's own separate dimension from the fifth or sixth dimension.

I've tried explaining my vision as best I can, but it's possible there may be another interpretation. What do you think, Atomic?

Clancy Liz : Being called small things.

Small things inherently means cute. xD Def a compliment.
Thanks for the clarification! On a second go-through, I have decided to tweak the dragon post a bit. Now it's only affecting Ken. I hope that's a bit more on point! :)
Whoops, looks like I did mix up my words. Thanks, Atrophy. I've changed it to read Doomsday instead. So it's up to Atomic to see if I got it right. Think I did though, as it's more of a gravitational thing, like I was picturing in my head.

Doomsday ⫻ A Joint-Cast between Kenshiro Murakin, and Drake, and their ultimate weapon if cast successfully. It is a potent orb of plasma that is several shades of blue and grows larger and larger as the Joint-Cast goes on. In addition, using both of their Purple-Lux, it telekinetically pulls anything towards it, bypassing Emotional-Fields, like the gravitational pull of a planet. It gets stronger the closer to it an object or person gets, to the point where it will be impossible for the fastest Paranormals to escape.
I read somewhere the phantombane aspect is less promiment in big fights. However, if Ghost opts for an adjustment, I can make it.
@Herald Sounds good! No rush!

"That is no excuse. You've done nothing more other than debase yourself,"
Chunji

"I'm such a damned fool…”
Iraleth

Ciara glanced blerily in either direction - towards the curtain where Chunji's voice emanated, and up at Iraleth. Darkness clouded her face. Heaviness that would be too much to bear settled on her chest, mixing with the euphoria. The firing of serotonin in her skull offset the roughest parts of it, soon easing and disposing of whatever semblance of depression had overcome her.

There was a long silence as Ciara's thoughts scattered and unraveled again.

“It was the right thing to do-

“Little Hunger, we are so proud of you-

“You listen so well-

“The darkness will win-

“The blood on your hands will never be washed away- You can never disappear- You will never be rid of it- The Darkness calls you- Succumb and die-”

A low, pained groan left Ciara's lips.

“I… I want the Principal.”

She tried to lift her head. There was crazed eagerness in her eyes. She was wholly unaware of what she was saying.

“She has to know- It's the Voices-”

She only managed a half of a centimeter before her head flopped back down and her muscles relaxed, deadened. Her eyes blinked slowly, groggily, and she mumbled slurred incoherents under her breath. Her eyes tried to focus on Iraleth, but continued to unfocus, unravel, and drift away…
Oh wonderful, sounds good!

The Dragon

Elysium Island, The Sky

Interactions: Ken (@AtomicEmperor).

The dragon stared triumphantly, teeth bared as it watched the flames near wipe out its target.

“That was their healer. Well done.” Came the voice of Jin in the dragon's mind.

The dragon continued to watch, his snarling smirk faltering slightly. Aid was coming to the healer. Aid in the form of two persons. Perhaps he could make short work of them…

He circled in the sky once more, before realizing the doomsday… well, it was on its way to him. There was a small samurai man behind it, yelling. But the dragon couldn't hear him over the sound of the wind.

Shame.

Already feeling the cosmic forces within the sphere pulling at him, flying out of range was out of the question. The heat of it was already melting some of his scales.

That meant there was only one thing he could do.

His maw opened, and he screamed.

Over the sounds of an ear-piercing screech, his thoughts were begging of his lord, Jin. To save him. He was resistant to physical attacks, yes. But not to a miniature sun.

Jin, being connected with his dragon's eyes, ears, sensations, and thoughts, already had communicated with Zi, and set something up in place.

As the wild ball of plasma came rolling towards the dragon, a tear appeared in the space between them. Hovering for a moment, before it cracked open, revealing silvery waters and a gray, sunless sky. The River Styx dimension. Open, waiting, to devour and capture both the orb and the samurai welding it.

In this instance, all the momentum Ken had created would work against him, with little reaction time to swerve out of the way of the open portal. The ideal outcome was, of course, for both wielder and orb to be caught. However, if only the orb was caught, that would be okay as well.

Elysium Island, In the Tunnels

Interactions: Cyrus (@NoriWasHere), Adora and Greenwood (@Mixtape Ghost N), Amara's Clone (@Blizz), Clancy, (@Zombiedude101), Artifact Group.

“But you forgot to check if anyone was laying a trap for you,”
A Bespecled Man

Alexander smirked, half-turning behind him. ”Well that's unexpected.”

His stance lowered, hands splaying as he anticipated an attack. And right he was. The speed at which Cyrus came at Alexander wasn't an issue. Alexander moved at faster-than-sound speeds too, and had the sight to see it. Nay, the issue was when, slowly under him, roots broke through the ground to twist over and entrap his limbs.

He rolled his eyes slightly, before spitting out the crumpled cigarette from his mouth. Instantly, rings of black lightning arced over his body, frying the roots and causing them to crack, brittle as they became. So it was only a matter of stepping back and leaning out of range at the same speed as Cyrus as his revving chainsaw came into range. To the outsider's eye, both were moving at blurring, dizzying speeds.

At the same moment, the Undead King watched as Adora flew at him. A shield of ice was formed in an attempt to lessen the blow. However, Adora smashed right through that and connected her hit with the Undead King. It was sent flying back, before winds surrounded it, slowly and surely righting itself back on the ground. It was evident, through the tattered cloak it wore, its ribs had spider-like cracks along them.

”Destroy their ranks, fill them with fear.” Zi whispered in the Undead King's mind, to which its hollow eyes flashed in response.

Phalanges splayed out, wisps of wind coalescing into a small twister in its hand, sparks of ice peeking through the threads. A light toss, and the twister, seeded with frost began rolling across the floor. It skirted past Alexander, growing in size. As it tore through the vines, it became large enough to encompass most of the tunnel. Frost and ice began to grow along the floor and walls - anything the twister consumed would begin to feel ice form on their bodies. It tore down the corridor, hoping to devour Adora, the Greenwood members, and Amara's clone, with enough force to ragdoll them.

Alexander watched the twister barrel past him, causing frost to coat his dark hair. It was this slight head turn that allowed him to catch the glint of a gun being raised in his direction. It was fine work, between dodging the chainsaw, that Alexander pulled a move from the Matrix, and slid his body out of the way in the blink of an eye, narrowly avoiding each bullet.

”... MAYBE SHE WOULD STILL BE HERE!
Adora

Alexander turned and smirked, about to speak, before a shadow came leaping towards him. A small boy, nay, a small thing, steaming from taking a direct electrical hit, went and sunk its teeth into his arm. His bone. Had it severed…?

He hissed, sucking in a breath, but managed to beat down the pain. The boy was in direct contact with his body. That meant the same electricity he had used to fry the vines around him was currently electrocuting the ever-living hell out of the boy. But Alexander had a feeling that wouldn't be enough.

A hard glance at the boy, before Alexander gave a wincing smirk.

Yes... this is no boy. He's an apparition...

His free hand made a unique hand sign. In the next instant, a speck on the floor at Alexander's feet tore open, revealing Zi's portal. Alexander had a dark smirk on his face as he held on tight to Clancy, still electrocuting him, as the two began to freefall into the silvery, watery depths of the Styx river dimension.

If the boy wanted to sever his arm with his teeth so badly, then he'd face the consequences…

As a parting gift, looking up from where his body half-sunk into the ground, and was rapidly descending, Alexander caused electricity to pool in front of him, and it shot out in a wild display of black bolts directly at Cyrus, aimed for every part of him. Enough to give Alexander the fraction of a second he needed to escape. The others behind Alexander would be busy with the twister, making his escape all the more easy.
