𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 To protect women where ever and who ever they are... she has latched herself onto a particular group of strippers in Seattle. However, she feels limited without the full extent of her power and wishes to break the seal that limits her power so she can preform her task. 𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬
The patron saint of the ocean (particularly the Ogun River) and protector of women, Yemoja was a decorated deity in the Yoruba patreon. She was one of the primordial entities tasked by Olofi, the supreme being, to assist in preparing the world for the arrival of mankind. And the task that she took initiative in was creating the waterways and the oceans, most importantly the sacred Ogun River. After it's creation her next task was to watch over the mortal women under the Yoruban patreon's care and it was not a task that Yemoja faltered in for not even a second. Mothers had births without a hitch, infertility was cured, and not a child was harmed under her care. However, at the end of the day, anyone who called the Ogun River home was under her protection. While she never had biological children of her own, she raised young Gods without parents, including Shango.
𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬
When she lost her power, the golden age of women and the Ogun River was over. Women and children everywhere began to suffer and Yemoja was powerless to do not a thing about it. It was horrifying that they were the ones being punished for the actions of fools. Yemoja held her tongue as she was forced to leave her homeland and going from place to place... and felt powerless as no Goddess like herself should ever bring herself to be at the mercy of humans. They're too powerful and wise... but it was that damn colossus that meant that she couldn't do anything about it.
Yemoja took the name Heidi Thomas in a bid to appear somewhat American. And she, recently, had to settle in Seattle (Geddit?) and tried to do something to help out fellow women. This is why she became a social worker... and she felt disappointed that she had to watch the ocean fall to ruin but with big companies dumping waste, she couldn't do a thing about it as a human. Though Yemoja was a pretty damn good at her job, she didn't get paid a whole lot and Seattle was expensive as shit. So it wasn't working so she ended up taking a side gig as a stripper at a local strip joint... even though she ended up taking a motherly role, much to the other strippers dismay.
