I'd like to think I've matured with age but then on weekends I watch cartoons and eat too much sugar cereal in my pajamas so if anything I've stayed the same.

I watched You People and I know the year just started but that's a real front runner for the worst shit I'll see all year
I want to trust Bethesda again. But Fallout 4. Let alone 76.

Good thing Redfall is by Arkane who only put out bangers and games that are fun but are forgotten in two months like Deathloop!
High On Life is free if you have Game Pass
I said it had more jokes that land, that doesn't mean I said it was good.

Both games also have options to turn down the chatter.
High On Life is probably a better game but it is also way unfunnier and more annoying and has worse writing. Forspoken is just so bland that people have to latch onto 30 second clips from the first hour because that's the only thing of note. Both games have jokes that land and Forspoken is probably funnier but it all depends on if you think subpar Joss Whedon writing (who is already a shit writer) is funnier than rambling improv shotgun approach style.

Both are emblematic of why video game writing is pretty universally reviled and for good reason but neither are like so bad because of the writing alone
<Snipped quote by SleepingSilence> I still have no idea what that game is supposed to be about. The only thing I've even heard about it is people meming the part about a talking gun to death in regards to writing/comparing it to High On Life.

It's an isekai that had an unfortunate trailer a couple months ago that has now saddled the game with a reputation of being 'cringe Marvel humor' (even though that says nothing) which is a weird talking point in a game that is ostensibly a bland open world rpg with moderately fun magic based combat and traversal mechanics. It's the kind of game that a couple generations ago would come out to little fanfare and be forgotten but then a couple years later would have people calling it a hidden gem.

The comparisons to High on Life is that, much like High on Life, the talking companions don't ever shut the fuck up. It's worse in High on Life because the guns, knife, and enemies all create a maddening dirge of Justin Roiland humor but in Forspoken it's a lot of quippy jabs between the protag and her haughty magic bracelet. So pick your poison, really.
Hi-Fi RUSH, which came out today after being announced today, is fucking awesome. It's a rhythm character action game where all your hits attack on beat but if you time your attacks on beat they do more damage and heavy attacks use the off beat. Everything in the world moves to the beat of the song so you can use that or just feel it to know the timing. It's got a great aesthetic and also the first boss is set to a fuckin Nine Inch Nails song and is the hypest shit since Rules of Nature
I love that a movie where a dude shoves a buttplug trophy up his ass and a dog is used as a flail weapon has the most Oscar nominations of the year including Best Picture

Movies are fucking dumb I love them
i heard i could be a genetically enhanced catgirl
We've talked about worse to be fair
