RP hunting is like finding the rare toy in the cereal box. Doable, but the time and effort is nearly more than I can bare!

I love being a terrible person by making my PCs' lives miserable, it's art form that never gets old or boring.

In her mind, Helen heard Ignis' complaints and protests as his heat shifted, draining him when he collided with the Ice spirit. It ceased moment later after Nahor's attack made a direct hit and steam filled the bar end, aiding Ignis with some aid. It was little surprise the pair worked well together especially since they had complimentary elements. Helen continued to ignore her spirits, able to battle without her guidance, a trait of good training, while tending to Pierce. She had lifted the boy's legs upright with her thigh to elevate them. Meanwhile, her fingers fumbled at the clasp on her medical bag. They slipped twice in her hasty to get it open thanks to her mind trying to edge into a frenzy panic. Finally, after struggling with it, the clasp clicked open and her hand purged inside to withdraw needed items, including a vial of adrenaline and a syringe. She didn't aim to use them but having them on hand in the worse case scenario was comforting.

Namely if the boy went into extreme shock from unknown factors, something that still happened if rarely in her experience.

Perice's hand clamped over his wounded arm and tried to seep the bleeding, his shirt in a sorry state, as Helen forcefully peeled his fingers away. She hated being extreme in her handling but the boy was in too much pain to listen. And she had to work quickly. She cut away the fabric material to reveal the wound underneath and examined for any shards or foreign material in the injury. Helen felt relief when she noted there wasn't anything inside it. Cleaning it and binding it, she shoved her items into the bag just to close it up tightly. It was little surprise the boy looked paler than sour milk. The doctor had just finished up when the Rider decided to unleash a steam canister causing her to curse under her breath.

“Adonai, the girl,” Helen hissed and spotted Sira padding up, in his wake the child followed closely. Her eyes were widen and terrified at seeing her brother in a sorry state.

However, she couldn't sooth the child now. Not while the room was filling up with fog and everyone was quickly retreating, seeking the outside. Her arms cradled the boy as she snatched up her bag, her gun safely in her waist band of her skirt, before ushering her way out. Nahor's image shimmered and vanished, his spirit being recalled for the moment. Sira on the other hand was kept out should something be attempted that they weren't aware of. A flash spell that only hit enemies was much easier to control than another attack that hit everyone.

“Stick close to Adonai,” Helen stated and pushed the girl's terrified figure toward her husband. Her eyes met his, a slight pleading, then followed his lead outside to the plaza. Her mind whipped to Ignis, easing her worry when she addressed the spirit's condition. Ignis? Your condition? We're heading out to the plaza with the children in toll and I hope you can meet us out there.
You can still autonomously vomit, void, and purge when unconscious.

I'm sure he will throw up, Terminal, as Eli would've when he was younger. :p
I'm writing up an Helen post tomorrow I hope and will get Pierce tended to. He only grazed the kid but I'm sure that made him pass out as it hurt like hell and will allow me to puppet Pierce easier. Hard to play a passed out PC after all.

GM-NPC Eural: Roc mission

Eural watched the two girls, a vampire and the leader, alongside the foxman braiding the plant vines together. Each one made a braid tightly and strengthening it until finally it seemed they had enough rope. Meanwhile he just leaned against wagon, observing until they decided it was ideal to move onward. Time was a key factor as his eyes caught the overhead sun dipping past the noon point and into the western position. It would be dusk and that meant twilight shortly after, something not advisable was to combat Roc in the late hours of the day. Already he had made sure Samson the horse was strapped up to the wagon and secure this time. Last thing he wanted was another escape attempt. Losing the horse meant they couldn't move the overgrown crossbow which made killing the Roc that much harder.

Beside him, perched on the wagon edge, Eural could hear the chatter of the skull ramble on. The click-clacking was slightly nerve racking while he bite back his tongue at snapping at the odd item. He had been just about to tell the skull to shut up when darkness shrouded everyone. The piercing sound of the Roc and her wings flapping, the guide immediately lowered himself just under the cart's side. His mouth let out a soft hiss, head tilting to watch the large thing sweep by without sparing a glance in their direction. Silence drowned the scene until the skull's jaw clicked again, breaking it.

It vouched at what he believed was clutched in the bird's talons. His head snapped at the skull when he heard mention of the Roc having a mate and scoffed, “It's too late in the season for Rocs to be breeding. They mate in summer, not spring else they don't have enough food. In addition the male never stick around when the eggs are laid. I don't know where you're getting your information but you're wrong.”

His hand reached for the skull, minding that it didn't get a chance to bite him, and tossed it at Liam, “Take him, I'm going to gather what rope we have done and load it up.”

Power level already has an effect on combat, as does strength. They don't have the final judgement on how things go of course, but they have an effect.

True, but that's not the first thing that comes to mind all the time. Namely the reason I mention my thoughts then again, I know at least some that find the challenge exciting and fun to take on a larger tier compared to their own or smaller. Even if one blow would cripple their PC. >_> Some arena fighters are blood thirsty beasts.
It would likely work in such a way that given categories (yet to be defined) would be figured for the character's skills and various traits, then averaged out and/or added up so as to gauge their overall/general power rating. This should be discussed as to whether or not this system should be necessary for everyone, or just for those who choose to opt in.

So each area is assigned a number based on the mention of the traits, their strength/weakness in battle, and finally totaled up would be assigned a tier level? Here's some thoughts for that which aren't meant to discourage it, mainly cause to be honest, I would like some clear classification to compare power level though I don't think strength and high tier should influence how a battle plays out. However for players who are struggling to figure out the actual difference between power levels in combat, this could help quite a bit to understand and determine how badly one's ass will/should get whipped. Also helps to determine who I need to call when I want someone to wrangle in a PC without killing him. >_<

I'd be cool with that. I mean, I'd need help filling it out because I'm derp like that. But I'd be cool with it. People couldn't really argue about their character losing if that became a thing.

I can help if you need some. Namely it's a higher and less vague system of the arena system for tiers, though these might need examples of types that belong in each tier and examples why which would help explain the reason a PC was set in that tier.Though that's just my thinking.

Also, Celaira, keep in mind just because someone's a higher level doesn't mean they will automatically win or the other person will lose in a horrible instant type way. I personally think arena fights in any way is all about give and take: if you want to draw blood, than you better be willing to even it out by taking some yourself. Namely the same amount or it could be seen as insulting. Usually in a battle that doesn't have a predetermined winner (or I know the PC I'm battling won't kill my PC should they win- Big factor there for me as I need them alive...some times...), the more creative you are and more I'm enjoying the fight, than more likely I'll be letting to take the lost though it won't be given easily. Though that's more of a ramble and how I think sorry about that as I know not everyone thinks that way.

Another thought to keep in mind is everyone sees things different and while some of us might see one thing as an advantage or key trait, others (including GMs) might not. So how do you determine the worth of one set of traits over another? Do you take the approach of flexibility vs specialization where the being with the multiple talent has less strength over all due the fact they can do more than a PC with say only talent in one area or what? What's the scale, 1-10 or less? How many tier levels? I know normal humans would've been the lowest as they are basically at level 0 without magics, enhance equipment, skills, etc. Usually NPC fodder. :P

However, how detailed or vague should the tiers be? What happens when two PCs of the same level end up battling, would the result be a tie all the time or flip of the coin type deal? Where one wins this time and next time the other one wins, or which ever works best with the situation?

Damn it! I got carried away...AGAIN!!!!!
Eden's Wrathe

His fangs lounged and buried into the ground, sending flowers fluttering up on his impact. The man already moving forward into a roll as the beast expected, his tendrils accounting for the path. His tendrils already shifted to counter. Right didn't care his attack was blocked, his intentions still another step ahead, and reacted. The tendrils went up into ashes not yet strong enough to withstand the flame. However instead of it turning to complete ashes, the flame lingered and crumbled from his body as the attack stalled just a foot short of his body. Rage whipped his souls causing the beast to roar in fury and pain, both emotions mingling in perfect union.

Not bothered by his tendrils, his head retracted while his right limp tossed back. It backhanded the human and tossed him in the direction of the acid as his eyes shifted, following the creature. Right didn't seem to care the human had changed. It meant little to the beast within as Middle was the logical and sensible part. Only that mattered was the human's extinction.

His body rushed forward and teeth flashed a snarl, his muscles coiled to reach the man's present location. One of the last two tendrils reached for the man's shoulder, intended to pin him in place. Meanwhile, if his tendril hit, his left claws went for the man's lower leg where it was bent on gripping and ripping it free. Destruction meant little to Right as he could revive as long as he was here. Without Middle to restrain him, there was little reason to held back and right relished in the freedom.
