That moment you've got too many rp ideas floating in your head, but you don't want to overwhelm yourself? Yeah... I'm right there, suffering in silence.

RP hunting is like finding the rare toy in the cereal box. Doable, but the time and effort is nearly more than I can bare!

That amazing high when you realized how far you've come in improving your writing. It's impossible to describe, but drowns you in a positive glow.

I love being a terrible person by making my PCs' lives miserable, it's art form that never gets old or boring.

Eh, Bioshock...it's a nice quote, but ultimately the series has turned into "Why centralism is the only option / Why the horseshoe horseshit theory is true, probably".

I mean, I enjoy the characters and sci-fi concepts they employ, but I'm never going to forgive them for how the presented the Vox Populi in Bioshock: Infinite. Like, why set up the most reactionary, racist, classist, theocratic regime you could think of, but then make the anarchists revolting against the regime the bad guys?!

You never did mention if your PC's apartment was within the same building as Racheli and Justine... Both are in Sherman's square.
How do you guys wanna start off the next year?

With a clean sweep of the points, letting the system inplemented by Mahz be the 'global' points, and I handle the actual points. We'd have to do away with wagers.

Or simply just keep going from where we are now, rolling over the points?

Personally, as a newbie, it would be nice to start off with clean sweep of points. Though the global points would still class fighters for over all determining ranks (aka, vet, newbie, etc), the fresh start might make it seem less discouraging to someone who might not do so well with fighting and over time add up as they start to get the handle on the basics, technique and such of the actual workings of the arena. Though that's just my thoughts. >_>
Mawahahahahahaha! Writing this is going to be fun. I'm a bit swamped currently, though. I'll get to it when I can.

Do I want to know so I can brace?
Cool, never expected I'd get past round one with no battle. Usually I have good luck during the first round for these tournaments.

Also why is this chat so dead. We need a new convo to liven things up! Who will face who next you think guys? Also who would you believe has a chance of winning these hypothetical battles?

Better questions:

Who do you think will end up making a good match up, for your PC or others? What battles would be interesting and why, what aspects would make them interesting? Is it because of their abilities, or mainly character development?

:P

Alright, can't wait to see how that plays out!

It can be... Cause it if is, she's now got a skylight.
<Snipped quote by Dedonus>

Cool, can't wait to read what you have in store! :D

By the way, I've got Charlotte and T running through the rioting crowd. If anyone still in the riots wants to interact/observe/interfere/etc. with them, feel free.

Well, slowly wrapping up the collab with Hero and Tear, though can't say the apartment will ever be the same again. Namely the floor. XD
<Snipped quote by Fallenreaper>

I figured out what is wrong with the quote there. It thinks that {s} is bbcode while I intended it to be an edit to a quote I was quoting so that there was proper noun-verb agreement. :D

<Snipped quote by Dedonus>

Edit: If you quote this quote, you need to change the brackets (the thing around the s) with either parentheses () or braces {}.

I just liked the explanation that you broke it! It's more fun that way. :p

Sadly, they became slaves in a sense which lead to the 2 decade war during the 18-19th cen. Mages, and sympathizers, fought for freedom resulting in lose of many lives until freedom was finally gained. Up until this point, the scientist were only learning about how mages were created, which is to encase a human in magik springs (planet's concentrated energy) and held unless you were of a key bloodline held a 1 out of 50 survival chance. Aka, you were born into slavery, you would in the end become a mage no matter what. Freedom was gained afterwards but rights didn't come until after the 21st cen. in a similar fashion as African Americans and women gained legal rights.

By the 22nd cen. Massive advancements in tech, modern/scifi mix, had progressed thanks to the appearance of mages. Sadly a lot of damage had already been done from deforestation, wildlife extinction that only a few known species remained and those alive were caged away in preserves (fancy zoos) or genetically spliced together (show displays, Jacer's and his brother's-name still pending- pet was an otter with wings, but crippled so it's got steampunk type prosthetics). Planetary resources have been depleted to almost been used up which is affecting the world, until they discovered a solution: it turns out the planet, to renew its resources, needs memories from living beings.

To gain this, she uses both the life and death cycle as well as her connection to mages, which is how they are able to use magik. Mages are exposed to the life 'blood' of the planet and end up infected with a symbiotic parasite made of pure energy. It alters any type of energy into a source the mage can use, becoming an unlimited resource, though mage's body can only conduct so much before it starts to tear it apart. Like overloading a circuit which is the mage in this case. When the mage finally dies, all those memories, experiences, and strength the parasite gained while attached to the mage helps the planet be able to renew her resources a bit faster. It's because the magik was used and strengthen through direct experience as opposed to hitching a ride, see humans in this world all have a little bit of magik but need to bath in the lifeblood to gain that parasite. Some don't survive it.

Space travel, limited, is possible, and a nearby planet, Wyvian, like Mars but more Earth version, has been terraformed for habitations. All soldiers are converted as mages at usually 18, as too young and you won't survive, mainly since before puberty the body is still changing and that alters the parasite since it needs a mature host (usually) to survive. At least that was the original belief. New power source has been created, thanks to a research lab on Wyvian and medical care, food care, and more is enhanced as well. Though yet to determine levels. Transport is a mixed between modern and hover cars, mainly as the cities are very scifi based with high tech and latest conveniences available but the country side are more like our modern era with a few high tech alterations.

In the late end of the 22nd cen. around 2203 SED (Standard Ebium-planet name- Date) was the Undyne invaded. They came fast and hard, knocking out communications, hitting military bases (most the mages are required to house in key approved areas as unlike civilians they can be dangerous unintentionally. Especially new recruits.), taking out massive capital cities, finally hunting down, enslaving, or killing remaining humans that resist. They ended up using the same tactics as they have on multiple other planets by infecting any captured or spotted humans with a meta virus that alters organics into cybernetics over a period of months to a year depending. There's no cure yet found, but the process can be delayed with a mage's own energy filtering out the virus in regard treatments daily. Those infected and fallen to the virus' influence are called the Enslaved, their own purpose is to serve their masters as soldiers or labor force.

The Undyne attack force is a mix bag since most of the soldiers are made from enslaved races so the only distinct feature is the metallic and cybernetic look of their old forms. They like a lot like alien mechas.

I'm still working on Jacer's history, but I do have his abilities semi worked out in my head.

People/Soldiers

Government

There are four main world powers within Ebium, each from a continent within the planet and cultural similarities to our own. However, since Jacer is from Mercisana that is the nationality that will be focused on in his sheet. The other three are listed due to reference:

Brythean- A republic government known as the Bresian Empire. Influence from Britain culture and mannerism, alrighty less technology setting than most which creates a more modern England setting.
Casathea- A People's Republic (dictatorship) ruled by a monarch called the Yeoshea Kingdom.The cultural influence taken are from Africa and Brazil with low technology and Magik resources.
Japageos- Asian influence and highest technology level, its government has a ruling empress who presides over a set number of councillors. This ensures a mix between dictatorship and republic government style.
Mercisana- A Democracy to a fair degree where there’s a president, followed by two different councils where laws, national affairs, and much more are settled. Currently the government is in shambles as thanks to the Undyne invasion though they have been slowly trying to organize for over a decade.

I just prefer not to use them often. Kei'taro being the exception, and DG, so far. But never in a situation where, I'm just about dead, then I use my transformation/ultrapowerfulmove to make a miraculous comback , ala @Fallenreaper's mention of Anime.

I've seen it done tastefully once. My only issue with upping levels (transforming) is that you seem to eliminate your limitations rather than either add/alter/etc new ones into the mix sadly.

For example what I did with mine, Iron's Werecoyote form uses magic yet at the price of being unable to use his primary weapons due to his paws being too large to hold them properly. He also lacks knowledge of anything other weapons useage so using another is out of the question. And his two spells, Illusions and Inanimation is limited and unless the latter is attached to a weapon, it's lethal status ranges on the item itself. Still haven't figured out his feather magic yet, however those are easily dealt with and likely need recharging with x amount posts/rounds/time/before being able to used again or require time to actually active which allow my partner to interrupt it.

So it's possible to check and balance a transforming PC, but it has more to do with altering the weaknesses fairly. Though I will admit, the notion I have to start again from scratch to put a PC down when my PC isn't healed is not endearing in the least.
because they almost always end up as asspulls and bullshit. "Oh, you're beating me? One more hit and I die. care to meet my new form? it'll heal me, and make me three times stronger. oh, and much like Frieza... it isn't even my final form.'

Ah... the joys of BSing in Anime. Ironically, Iron has a transformation ability but it's more scene related than actual damage or willing. It had to be during moonlight though in later versions he could learn to it by will, but that didn't auto heal him and he couldn't use his weapons really. Come to think of it, if I ever use it in mid battle, I'll likely nerf it.
