NIKO RENZO

Twenty hours had passed, and in that time, Niko had been busy, alongside Wu Han. Let's break it down.

That night, as the fireworks went up, Wu had suggested that they talk and discuss what they knew, pool their respective information. He also needed a chance to dry off from the unfortunate dip in the ocean. As it was Niko's fault that he'd gotten soaked in the first place, he offered use of his tournament competitor quarters. They couldn't leave the island without some private transportation until the morning, anyway, so that seemed like the right move. The assassin agreed, and soon he was taking care of his side of things as they spoke. Wu described the man from their meeting, what he was like and how he reacted to things. All business, without a doubt, which said a great deal to Niko. The soldier soon filled Wu in on what he thought was really going on.

He started with his exact purpose in coming here to the World Martial Arts Tournament, the original one, anyway. He needed the money to fund a thorough investigation of the tragedy that was the RAMI Explorer tragedy, to discover what really happened aboard that ship. Not the accident that every expert would weigh their reputation against the possibility, not when hey had afforded every precaution and taken along experienced safety inspectors. Not with Derek and Ariel Renzo giving their thumbs up... Niko had been looking for information, or trying to find ways to gain it outside of any potential interference from the Martian Mining Corporation, the #1 suspect for the explosion of their rival's ship bound for Mars. They had the right motivation, gambling alot of futures that could make or break a company. So much to win and everything to lose... The possibility was inescapable, but there was just no proof.

That was why, though, that Niko thought this man was an employee of the MMC. He was a suit, a man who didn't indulge in pleasantries or seem interested in any subject except for the matter at hand, which was eliminating Niko Renzo. Even if he wasn't. Even if he was a hired go-between, it didn't matter because regardless of WHO he worked for, this would lead to the true client, and that's what was important. Everything having been explained, the two men would sleep until the morning, eat as necessary before the first boat out, and check the dockmasters to see if the man had left.

The answer, of course, was a definite YES. He left for the mainland in China yesterday, soon after delivering the job and the money. This made things more difficult, but not only was Niko starting to believe he could do it, but it happened that Wu Han knew the country rather well. He may've had a day's head start, but the man in question was still wasn't that nationality, but something a bit more West. They could track him, they could confront him, and they could get the truth out of him. For Niko's part, he suggested to Wu that they try a ploy in the assassin desiring to know more about the client so that they could do continued business for more satisfying targets like that one. If he didn't convince the man, Niko would step in out of nowhere and say that he could tell Wu Han, or that he could spend a few minutes explaining it to HIM, instead!

They would definitely have the information, and soon.

Nero Kayakos

Name: Nero Kayakos

Age: 15-ish

Physical Description: He's kind of the wiry delinquint type, quick to react and seemingly on-guard alot of the time. You can see that he's watching you, studying you, testing to see where the chinks in your armor are. Simultaneously, he's keeping himself at arm's length so you can't do the same to him. So, unless he's alone, he's rarely relaxed for real. There's always that tiny hint that, from a lying position, he could suddenly spring up and attack...and that sometimes he would, because he has been ill-at-ease around everyone his entire life. He prefers to wear dark colors, but in fact will only let off a token grumble about there being otherwise no real choice.

Important items:

Curved Monomolecular Knives - These are fairly-common weapons, but Nero makes more use of them than other weapons.

Ballistic Vest - Again, very common, and notably his doesn't get damaged that much.

Killer Mask - NOT very common. A tactical assistance device in mask form which can change visual input, and serve as both breather and gasmask. Ballistic Vest material quality. Nero's looks like the cross between a welder's mask and a hockey mask.

Galactic Credits - A few thousand credits in digital form given by the former Rau've warden.

Omni-Tool - "Son of a- How the hell do you work this damn thing? Come on, already!"

Short Bio: Oookay.

Nero's disposition about fighting in the war was a little different from most. He was oppositional and confrontational from the start, his attitude taking a "This is what you had to resort to for the win?" sort of stance. He was cynical and judgemental, calling those around him that weren't a part of the program pathetic and weak. He was allowed to do this because they both knew that he was being shipped out to die for their cause, and he didn't have any choice in the matter. You see, Nero's delinquint nature is his own. He was an unwanted child to begin with, thrust into a foster home that didn't care for him, which then later sold him out to the military in order to receive more financial support. Of course, getting a hold of him was tricky. He liked to climb and sneak off places as a hobby to piss people off, so when the time came to grab him, only the army's decent training allowed them to really keep up, and he still injured two men in the process. Said soldiers were actually given the opportunity to watch the experiments on him for their troubles, and then assured that the powers and training he gained would not be used against them. And while this was true, it was only because they didn't stick around. Whole new measures of security procedures had to be put in place to contain Nero, and they had to entice his more vicious side in order to keep him focused on the matter at hand, which was the war.

In battle, Nero directed all of his anger into fighting, to the point where he pretty much revolved around being vicious and chaotic. It was his nature to stir up trouble in an area, force the enemy to slow down and try to deal with the problem, picking them off, one by one. When he and the others were captured, he was either the least afraid or overriding his fear with his anger, getting rather vocal that he wasn't given any fucking choice in his being a part of the war. Naturally, the Rau've needed to figure out why he kept mentioning procreation in such a manner, or made references to the posterior. They DID catch on once he called someone "Shit for brains!", though. He only really quieted down once it was properly explained that he wasn't going to be harmed, just contained to prevent damage to any other being. In short, it was just a holding cell. That calmed him a little, but like always, he was ill-at-ease. He didn't know how to really cool down entirely. There was alot of need to get out and do what he pleased because of people trying to confine him. Unfortunately, the Rau've were better at it, and quickly learned from all of his tricks.

The war ended and Nero almost didn't care. He never knew who to belong to, anyway, but that included this so-called peaceful life on an alien world. Nero didn't know what he wanted, but he knew what he didn't want, and that was this. It just didn't mesh with him. Maybe he didn't belong anywhere, to anything or anyone. Maybe he was just a frigging asteroid thrown out of its galaxy with nowhere to go. Well...someone proposed somewhere to go, and he...kinda' liked the idea. Killing the fuckers who started this mess? Sure, why not? Smack into the Earth! That's where the asteroid goes! He was in, and while the alien plant-boys didn't like it, he said, "Well, look. You were worried I'd shiv someone. Now you don't gotta worry anymore, right? Right.". He didn't care about the danger because nobody cared about him, anyway. So, hell with it! Why did it matter? Go teach those fuckers a lesson...

Spell List:

Shadow Charge (Netherworld) - The ability to charge an object with dense shadowy energies to increase its strength. Armor becomes effectively thicker and more difficult to damage, blades slash and stab deeper, bullets have more penetration, and so on. The limits of a Level-1 ability is that you must cast upon things effectively one at a time. Weapons in hand, armor on body, and some things on person would count as three separate castings. (A stronger field for more objects at once would happen later.) Take note, howwever, that in a pinch, one can charge the extremities of one's body similarly for extra directed impact force, and the same follows for anything thrown or otherwise in motion, or to make nearby cover more durable.

Shadow Step (Netherworld) - The ability to become a silent shadowy form, one which meshes perfectly with the darkness and appears as a near-indistinguishable shade in the light. You cannot be heard, even if you speak out loud, though you can pull people in to your immediate vicinity and THEN speak to them. They become obscured as well, if you do so. The limits of this spell at Level-1 is that you are still physically there and can be hurt, but obviously you're more difficult to hit and near-impossible to recognize in the light. (Later levels could see exceptions to that rule, though, such as intangiability, shape-changing, and certainly transportation from shadow to shadow.)

Exceptional Skill List:

Exceptional Knifework x2 - In fact, it's practically all he did in the war, making use of any slashing/stabbing weapon smaller than a sword, including the quick-throwing of such devices. He is especially good at finding the weakspot and using it like Richard B. Riddick.

Exceptional Acrobatics x2 - At Level-1, you would have the abilities of Claire Statfield from Baccano, which is to say being exceptionally balanced and able to move around even dangerous locations with great ease and control. At Level-2, you're probably close to Samurai Jack.

In the year 2500, the world has become modernized with new technology to reach into outer space, cure disease and injury with relative ease, and keep the Earth in good living condition. At this time, the 50th World Martial Arts Tournament has begun and ended. Many fighters saw fierce compeition in the ring, with surprising and unusual outcomes along the way. In the end, however, the last rounds saw four particular combatants standing above all others.

Angela - A Fist-Fighter
Bakuto - A Swift Warrior
Niko - A Trained Soldier
Lee - A Pure Martial Artist

In the semi-finals, Bakuto unexpectedly took down Lee with ease, despite the fact that Lee had taken down the reigning champion, Michael Miocic. And although Niko had trained well and reached this point, he was defeated by Angela, who then went on to fight agained Bakuto in a tense and exciting final match. Bakuto's technique was flawless, but after dealing damage to Angela, she hunkered down and took all that he had in a strong defense that wore the warrior's strength down to the point where he could barely move, and he had to admit defeat, making Angela Piers the World Martial Arts Champion of the 50th Competition!

The aftermath of the competition saw the inclusion of a special guest, the grand-daughter of Hercule Satan, Pan, who had been a champion at one time, herself. The four strongest fighters were invited to a party, though Lee and Niko declined for their own reasons. And while Lee disappeared to parts unknown, Niko found himself on a beach, thinking about his time at the Tournament and what to do next in life. But then, as the Champion and runner-up in the competition attended the afterparty, Niko was suddenly confronted by a man who wished to fight him, the mysterious Wu Han. He was, in reality, an assassin, and after they fought, he revealed such and explained that someone had hired him to kill Niko using false information to paint him as a bad guy. But looking now, he could see that this was not the case, so he could not act upon the order. Niko then asked for his assistance to find out who had done this, and the assassin agreed.
