For sure! I was thinking of keeping it pretty similar to her basic comic backstory, being a child of Shiva and David Cain, raised by Cain to be a mute assassin. Perhaps to theme her historically though, she could have grown up in Hong Kong amidst WW2/Chinese Cultural Revolution, with Cain trying to train her as a tool for taking out contracted targets. Then, she runs away to Gotham, trying to follow Bats' footsteps, and eventually gets taken into the Batfamily. I think I'd also like to avoid the whole "telepath rewriting her brain" idea, emphasizing that while she struggles with language, she's taking formal speech training with help from Alfred and other allies.

Would 17 or 18 be a good age for her?


Yeah, I think that works really well for her. I'm not sure why they had to have a telepath rewire her brain, instead of just having her gradually learn to read and write.

By the way: Dick should be about 20-24 in 1954, with Barbara being 2-3 years older than Dick.

Yes! I'd prefer Barbara Gordon, but Cassandra Cain (and possibly Stephanie Brown) are also possible.

Yeah, i'd imagine that would have been their dynamic. I'm happy to elaborate on it in/add it to the backstory. It just didn't seem super important to the RP


I think the backstory is fine as it is, no need to make any changes unless you just want to.
