Hi team,

@Dead Cruiser, @Darkmatter, @Pepperm1nts, @Gorgenmast, @Chairman Stein, @Arawak Just checking in to say sorry for not being around, had a crazy weekend. Please, if you're approved, post ICly! Let's not let this die? If it does die, I'm going to recreate a version of it as a fantasy RP in the Advanced section.

@Raptorman sorry for not replying to your PM, will try to do so today

@Milkman sorry again for the continued delay, will look over your sheet shortly.

@Sigma & @Rhymer: still with us?
Don't mind me, I'm just here to shake the dust offa this OOC with some questions for my best super pals. That's you guys. You guys are my pals; sorry you had to find out like this.

Question 1!

How are the posts going? Anyone in need of some inspiration, motivation, collaboration, or further aggravation? Because I am good at all of the above.

Question 2!

Since it has already been established that we are now super pals, I feel like I kinda sorta need to know things about you so I can quietly judge you from behind the safety of my computer screen become closer buds with ya. So, since this is a website about writing shit, let's talk about reading shit.

What books ya been reading? How are they? If you aren't reading something, why?

1) Just waitin on the lovely @Rockette to finish our collab. I'm still around and alive and may make a second, less completely one dimensional character for this RP if that's allowed.

2) just started reading North American Lake Monsters: Stories, which is one of the more disturbing and elegantly written collections of short stories I've read in awhile. I also just finished Fools, Frauds and Firebrands: Thinkers of the New Left, which is very enjoyable if you enjoy erudite polemics tearing academic charlatans to shreds. Which I do.

@Dead Cruiser Dratha's in the mountains near where the blue, orange and green all touch.
So... do I need to edit this new map or do I still use mine for my stuff?

Use yours. I will have the 'official' map up sooner or later.
Yeah, that's true. Still, I think it's worth marking "borders" for the sake of helping people make their claims. And even if the environment means that most people will be in the cities, there is likely still an area these cities consider "theirs" and enforce their jurisdiction in. I think the more important thing to emphasize and remember is that just because you are laying claim to an area doesn't mean it's highly populated or secured, since the environment is harsh and uninhabitable. Nations like Azar might be the exception because they are on fertile ground and have the numbers to populate and secure their territory.

Exactly. 100% agreed.

@Raptorman, @Dead Cruiser, @Chairman Stein, @Darkmatter, @Arawak: lets see some intro posts, folks.

@Rhymer, @clocktowerechos, @Chapatrap still with us?

@Milkman my apologies for not reviewing your sheet yet, I will try to do so tomorrow when I have a spare moment.

@Pepperm1nts Stop procrastinating :) your faction is badass. A brief NS is fine. Jump in.
Feel free to edit the map to match what you're visualizing. If not, I'll go ahead and expand Azari claims further east down the river the next time I update the map, which should be whenever the other sheets are accepted, and/or when I get around to marking my own claim.

Maps look pretty good! I think most factions will have settlements outside of their 'borders' but borders in this game are not super important, as long as the settlements are marked.

A perimeter mountain? It doesn't hugely matter to me as long it's isolated a little.

great!
@Raptorman @Flagg
Stupid question time, what info directly do you need for me to be on the map?

Also I'll post IC tomorrow at some stage, I just want to have another double take over all the nation stuff and decide where to go!

I just need you to draw in and/or tell me where you want to be.

A quick note, seeing something in Flagg's post (now, again, you don't have to edit anything but just be aware): basically no one worships the Old Gods. They're called the Old Gods because basically nothing else is remembered about them.

The "Dark Gods of the Northmen" are thoroughly different, as we'll be learning as the game goes on. They went rarely worshipped, or paid mild lip service to, for much of the Age of Steel, but now their cults are coming back with a vengeance.

It's pretty hard to establish this kinda stuff without giving too much away!

Dark gods it is! will change that!
And here is the first of them. This map shows the rough borders for the Dominion's protective zone and the actual area controlled by the Dominion directly. The Dominion exercises no direct power over the areas not designated as such but has pledged to defend the inhabitants who actually control the land from outside aggression.

I would say since this RP is about vast deserts and wildernesses, both your actual territory (eg, the entire mountains) and your protectorate zone are a bit much. I would just note where your cities are, since its unlikely you actually control much territory beyond them, esp since your faction is mostly underground.

In short, and this applies not just to you, territorial borders are not very meaningful when most territory is mutant-infested wasteland.
