Archer of Lightning

The moment the blade nicked Tesla's hand he knew he was in for a bad time as his head erupted in pain and his arm went completely numb. The usage of Mana Burst only solidified this feeling as he narrowly avoided being bisected by the golden sword the Oni wielded, and she was definitely an Oni judging by the knowledge he was receiving from the Throne of Heroes. 'Master, we're going to be retreating immediately. My opponent is not one to be fought at this current juncture, also I am in immense agony. Meet me at the spot we agreed upon.' He stated factually as he raised his currently useable hand and pointed at the Oni, letting loose a bright flash of lightning within his hand to hopefully blind the Berserker as he Disengaged.

It was a good thing he had set fire to the forest before hand as he dove into the burning trees with no regards for his own safety, barreling through the smoke and flames away from the maddened Oni as he thought upon just what the fuck happened. Hatred for the Minamoto clan, King of Onis, poisonous blade. Judging by what he had from the Throne, this was either Shuten Douji or Ibaraki Douji. At least this wasn't a complete loss, as long as she wasn't chasing after him in an attempt to murder him in a horribly gruesome manner. Tesla looked over his shoulder to confirm if he had escaped or not just in case. As he looked away from his apth the migraine in his head throbbed as he stumbled over a burning branch, but he powered through with the Single-Mindedness that had carried him through his lowest points in life. The flames licked at him from all sides, but ironically they only fueled his escape as he Galvanized the flames into Mana to use. If nothing went terribly wrong he would escape and regroup with his Master near the shopping mall that they had agreed to use as a regrouping point.

Once she's been fixed up and approved would you be okay with her filling in my empty partner slot?

A boom of thunder from up ahead signaled Tesla to be on guard as he narrowed his eyes, it would appear as if something had been thrown at high speeds at the enemy Servant, and it could be nothing but a Servant considering how it caught something thrown so hard with it's bare hands. How funny, such a small girl can wield such immense power. Probably has a higher strength than his own, avoid getting into hand to hand combat with the girl at all costs. When she arrived it was easy to tell how pissed she was, pissed off enough to forgo all reason and attack off the bat. That's why the moment she began to scream obscenities at him he activated his Natural Born Genius and picked out the appropriate skill to use at the moment.

She leapt at Tesla with a giant golden sword, an ornate piece of gold and silver that tempted him to pick out another skill to try and identify it, but there wasn't enough time. So instead he merely threw his hand in an upwards motion and let loose a blast of lightning from below the horned girl right before she reached him, sending her into the sky as he got up from his throne. "I suppose you don't want to talk then. Very well." He said more to himself than the enemy Servant as his throne dissolved, the magical energy comprising it being quickly absorbed back into himself. "Wait a minute... Horned girl?" Tesla had no time to ponder such things though as he prepared his battlefield, snapping his fingers and letting an arc of lightning shoot from his fingertips towards some very flammable trees, beginning the process of setting the forest ablaze. Whenever she began to descend Tesla would leap backwards, aiming upwards and shooting more bolts of lightning at her as she began to descend.

At first it had been the odd sights and sounds Suzaku had gotten from his bird familiar that drew them to the docks, Tesla fully charged up and walking towards the odd boy with the sack with Suzaku following closely behind. Once they were close enough though, the sound of muffled screaming cats had been more than enough warning that something wasn't quite right. Especially since before every scream there was the sound of something heavy hitting the ground at high speeds. Tesla motioned for Suzaku to stay back, confident the dogs would be more than enough to protect his Master while he investigated the strange occurrences. It looks as though Tesla's caution was justified as he ran straight into what appeared to be a Bounded Field, possibly a Noble Phantasm? Either a Caster class Bounded Field or a Noble Phantasm, it was too strong to be a regular Magus's. He shook his head as he turned back to get to his master again. "There is a Bounded Field around the area that gives me pause. Come, we shall find another foe." It was as he said this that his eye wandered over to a path of fallen trees, cut cleanly in half by... something. There was also a curious blood spatter all over along the path.

"Stay behind me Master. The crack of thunder means lightning is sure to follow." What he was trying to say was that a battle was to begin soon, in his own unique way of course. And so Tesla began to walk down the path of fallen trees, stopping once the saw the enemy Master and his Servant. Of course Tesla saw them long before they saw him thanks to his Archer class, so Tesla simply decided to wait in place for them as he created a throne of lightning for himself, sitting in place as he waited for the drunken duo to arrive.

Vlado passively observed Caster as he explained his Noble Phantasm, the spark of life that so many Magus sought to claim, yet only one family has seemed to grasp. How would Caster feel if he knew that the peak of his work, his greatest achievement, was mass produced by the Einzberns. Probably not well. It wasn't relevant information regardless, so there's no need to bring it up. Not yet anyways. Caster's face contorted into a twisted smile as lightning burst forth from the lantern, entering the empty cadaver and... filling it. "Yes! YES!! It's ALIVE!! IT'S ALIVE!!" Vlado did his best to hold back from laughing, perhaps the book got more right than Caster would like to admit.

Vlado let out a small chuckle despite his efforts, nodding to himself as he looked at all the corpses in the room. "If you're going to yell that every time than this is going to be a long night Sir Victor."

Mourningstar scanned each monster one by one, noticing that one of them was also a human like Digbie. She made sure to commit that one's face to memory, since right now was not the best time for recruitment. She also gained a new skill in the process of all the Magic Analysis she was performing, Monster Analysis would be very useful for the future. She was about to use that on everyone as well when suddenly a burst of pain shot through her skull as she leveled up for the first time. Well that basically confirms that this is a game world, so she can let everyone know that. She focused with all of her strength on pouring her skill points into Mana Blade, because she had the feeling she was about to need that in a moment when everything went south.

'Alright, do or die. Hopefully not die.' And then the madness began as she tuned back into the world, Crispy was on the ground curled up in the fetal position with Orochi latched to his leg, and another Goblin on the ground covered in what appeared to be poison. Good job Lizard whose name I don't know yet. As she thought that the second Goblin smashed Rain into the air with a large stick, making her cringe internally. That looked painful. She began her speech in an attempt to intimidate the Goblins, but it was too little too late as the third goblin screamed at her and smashed her into the ground with a rock. Heh, the Lizard was in the air and the Wisp was on the floor. That doesn't seem right.

She was uninjured thankfully, good thing she had the foresight to ask Oberon for a shield, but she was on the ground and vulnerable now. By her estimate she had enough mana for one Mana Shot but she was unsure if that would be enough to kill the Goblin who loomed over her. Good thing she just leveled up. "EAT SHIT CABBAGE FUCKER!" Cabbage fucker? What? It was the first thing to come to mind due to the Goblin's green skin, but it worked as a quickfire insult. Not like he would remember it in two seconds as she formed a Mana Blade and fired it at the Goblin's very vulnerable neck.

Regardless of whether it hit or not, Mourningstar got back up as fast as possible and tried to dash into the Goblin who had attacked Rain with all of her weight. "I'M GOING TO TEAR YOU LIMP DICKED BITCHES LIMB FROM LIMB!" 'I'm going to die I'm going to die I'm going to die I'm going to die-' Hopefully this would be enough to knock him into the bonfire, if not she was probably about to get pummeled. She probably had enough in her for one hit right? "FOR THE DEMON LORD! FOR HUMANITY! FOR ME!" Really trying to hammer home the point that she's a human for everyone in the vicinity. Hopefully it would get through to someone.

The light that blinded Suzaku faded to reveal a tall man, over six feet tall if Suzaku was to do a quick estimation, clothed from head to toe in blue including his hair. A persistent glow emanated from his eyes as they darted all over the room, carefully observing the conditions of his summoning grounds. "How curious..." He muttered as lightning arced off of his body and onto the floor persistently, flexing his left fist which was covered by a strange metallic gauntlet that hummed with energy. "To be summoned here of all places. What an anomaly." His lips formed a smile as his eyebrow quirked up in surprise. Finally he took note of his Master, a stern looking fellow with something to prove. That's good, he was much the same in life.

"I am servant Archer, a man who has grasped the power of the gods in his hands. If it pleases you, you may call me Nikola Tesla. Now then, there is much work to be done if we are to grasp the Holy Grail." And with that, Nikola Tesla took his first step into the Second Holy Grail War, the Holy Grail War of 1888. The same year he crystallized his legend.

Tesla stared out at the sky with a smile, taking in a deep breath as he turned the iron rod in his hands over and over. An arc of electricity shot from his shoulder, immediately being drawn to the rod in his hands. A rainbow appeared in the sky, Tesla's smile fading as he stared at the lights with a neutral expression. The rod was tossed to the side, crumbling into dust as he headed back into the church to alert his Master of the new development. He headed to the mausoleum quickly, calling out to Suzaku with an urgent tone. "Master! Are you ready to head out for the night?" He turned the corner to find his Master handling any preparation for the night, stopping as he stared at Suzaku.

"The signal has been sent out, the Holy Grail War begins now. Are you ready to claim the Holy Grail?"

Francizka would not need to send Vlado over, for he was already entering the room with a loud yawn. He bumped into Francizka as she left to go get him, knocking him over while she remained firmly rooted in place. Vlado yelped in surprise as he hit the floor, landing on his butt with a thud and a small groan of pain. "Ah, my apologies Franziska. I am not used to such cramped spaces, there is usually much more room to move around in my family home." The european got up quickly with a sheepish smile, rubbing his back end as he mumbled about his tail bone. "Now then, what's this I hear about starting? Has the war already begun?" As he asked this he moved around Francizka, letting her go patrol as he stared at Caster's current project.

"My my, not afraid to get your hands dirty I see. Not like Magus nowadays, so afraid to get a little dirt under their fingernails. They only care about theory, it's so boring." As he looked up he noticed corpses all around, blinking in surprise. "You're quite the busy bee aren't you Sir Victor? Makes me feel lazy in comparison." In truth, he probably was. He had spent the day reading a book on Curse Theory, one he was writing no less. He wanted to look over it one more time before he sent it to the Clock Tower for publishing, nothing less than perfect would be accepted when it came to Curses after all. "I do hope you have a plan for these corpses and you're not just collecting them as decorations." Vlado teased lightly as he sat down in a nearby chair overlooking Caster's work.

Mourningstar stopped as she ran into the lizard who had attacked the goblins, giving off her best smile as she looked at the newly identified human. "Don't worry, I'm here to help fellow humans. Just play along." She whispered as she cleared her throat, using Magic Analysis on each Goblin that lay before her. On the outside she looked cool and composed, formulating a plan to deal with the Goblins swiftly and without worry. On the inside however... 'Oh god what the fuck am I doing, I have one Mana Shot left and I'm facing down five different Goblins who are all armed. I'm so fucked, I'm so incredibly fucked, why did I come here. Alright, time to pull yourself out of this hole.' After doing so she looked at each one with the most intimidating aura she could muster, using Mana Shape to impose a vicious looking grin with sharp teeth on her face as she glared at each Goblin. "Greetings pathetic whelps. As you can see, I am no ordinary Wisp nor is this any ordinary Lizard. We are Generals sent from the Demon Lord himself to create an army fit to march on the pathetic humans who hunt us day in and day out." 'Oh man I really hope Monsters and Humans don't get along in this world or I'm fucked.' "Thus I have come to recruit all in this cave for the conquest to come."

Mourningstar actually had the audacity to even float slightly in front of Rain, shielding her from any possible attacks that may come and looking directly into the eyes of Orchid, then Crispy as he formed his fireball. As this happened Mourningstar began stared at Crispy with the best demonic glare she could muster with Mana Shape, intensifying the sharpness of the teeth and reddening her eyes as she stared into his soul. Or pretended to anyways. "Now cease your assault immediately, we have work to do!" 'This is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever done.'

Ritual Successful?

@EnterTheHero

It took a few moments to sink in for Vlado, but he was not alone with the Servant he had summoned. No, behind the tall gentleman with the brown hair was a beauty unlike anything Vlado had seen in his lifetime. Pink flowing hair, hiding eyes of azure and gold behind the curtains as she looked around in curiosity. Clothed in flowing bridal wear, her veil covering... electrodes? It was as he observed what appeared to be massive screws sticking out of her head that he began to fully comprehend what he was seeing as the girl scurried away with her oversized mace. His attention turned back to the man scowling at him, the one he had summoned along with the beautiful wraith who was currently looking over the large boxes of metal that Vlado had stored throughout the warehouse. The man scowled at the book used to summon him, vaporizing it with a flash of lightning. "Allow me to clarify, then. While I am Servant Caster for the purposes of this war, I also am Frankenstein. Dr. Victor Frankenstein, to be precise. The charming young lady who will be thoroughly inspecting the abode you have for whether it suits our purpose is my creation, my Firstborn daughter. The... 'monster' that you were told such lies about. And if you are to be so caught off guard by the mere act of summoning your Servant, Master- ...well. I think, perhaps, you are in for a very unfortunate experience with this war." Caster finished with a vile look on his face as Vlado forced himself onto his feet. Well now. That was quite the earful he had just received.

Now most mages in this position would probably do something horribly regretful and hasty due to their prideful nature and ever constant need for respect. Something stupid like striking their Servant despite seeing the very dangerous bodyguard who was less then 20 feet away. Or maybe using a Command Seal to try and force their Servant to respect them. Luckily, Vlado was not most mages. Instead he began to laugh. It took a few seconds for him to stop and catch his breath, but he quietly waved in apology as he straightened up and dusted off his clothes. "My apologies Sir Victor. I do not mean to insult you in anyway, I am just very surprised. The story does you no justice, I came here prepared for the worst. Instead I find myself confronted by a rude doctor and his beautiful daughter, it would catch anyone off guard no?" Vlado let out a warm smile as he forcefully grabbed Caster's hand and shook it vigorously, letting go quickly and turning towards Franziska with a grin. "As for accommodations, I have spared no expense in preparing for the Holy Grail War. As you can see I have gathered many metals, originally for repair purposes in case Frankenst- pardon, your daughter was injured." After correcting himself he walked towards Franziska with a large smile on his face, grabbing her hands and shaking them as best as he could, despite the large mace that was in her grasp. "But I suppose you can do much more with this Sir Victor. We are also located near the local graveyard, so you will have all you can work with and more. Very good am I right?" Vlado clapped his hands together as he turned back to Caster with a smile, walking towards the man and wrapping his arm around his shoulders with no regards for personal space or boundaries.

"As for sleeping arrangements, I have procured many houses for us, plenty of space for everyone. I do hope we can all get along despite a bad first impression! This Holy Grail War is ours for the taking, no doubts in my mind! Now come, let us eat dinner early! I feel we have a long night ahead of us." With that Vlado dragged Victor off towards his house, motioning vigorously for Franziska to follow as they exited the warehouse.

Mourningstar could hear the battle beginning at the bonfire and groaned internally, this was going to make it five times harder to recruit people at the least. Then the Dire Rat came out of nowhere. "Oh come on!" She cried out as she dodged away from Digbie and threw the mana crystal she had been waving about up into the air, firing off two Mana Shots in rapid succession at the rat, catching the mana crystal as it fell back towards her and absorbing as much mana as she could out of it, refilling her mana to full. "Alright new plan! I'm going to run towards the monsters hoping there are humans who can help us! Do your best to lead the dire rat after us, hopefully we can start a brawl!" She slipped into her natural voice out of panic, not bothering to take the time to go for the intimidating voice as she scrambled for a plan. It was a terrible plan, but there was absolutely no time to think about plans, now was the time for action.

And so Mourningstar shot a Mana Shot at the Dire Rat hopefully getting it's attention as she ran for the bonfire. Or floated very quickly at the least. "HEY, ANY HUMANS AROUND?! WE NEED HELP DEALING WITH A REALLY BIG RAT!" Mourningstar shouted as she ran right towards the bonfire, hopefully with everyone following her.

"Now let's see here. Silver and Steel, color of the catalyst... eyes clouded in chaos? That doesn't sound good, I can probably just get rid of that verse. Alright, I think I have everything settled." Vlado threw his notebook onto his bed nonchalantly as he rolled up his sleeves, looking over his magical circle one last time to make sure everything was perfect. The warehouse he resided in at the moment was filled to the brim with all types of metal his family had been able to procure, the perfect material for the Servant he had decided to summon.

It was just a week ago that Vlado had read the fascinating story by the recently deceased author, a story about a mad man who had grasped the spark of life and created a living being! A horrifying living being sure, but a very strong one too! Vlado thought to himself after finishing that book, 'That will be my servant! I shall summon the monster so I may judge it for myself. If it is strong as the book says it is, we shall crush our enemies beneath it's heel with ease!" He laughed boisterously as he closed the book with a mighty slam, before abruptly pausing as he realized he had no idea how he would summon the beast.

Of course he would need a catalyst if he was to summon Frankenstein, but there was no time left to find a suitable object linked to the monster. All his time would need to be dedicated to setting up in Fuyuki and establishing his workshop. This was quite the conundrum indeed, so Vlado did what he would always do when stumped. He began to drum his fingers together with a book in between them. An hour passed like this as he thought, before his eyes settled on the book between his hands. Of course! So Vlado just decided to use the book itself, an hefty novel with a white cover. With that decision hastily made, Vlado made the rest of his preparations for his stay in the small town of Fuyuki. Quite curious that such an important magical ritual would take place in the east, Vlado knew how much the Association despised easterners. It didn't matter to him though, everyone is equal in the eyes of Gaia. He purchased a house near the local graveyard, he also purchased all the houses around the house he was staying in as well. It's amazing how easy it was to convince non-magi to do whatever you want with a little bit of money. Well, except for that one stubborn old man. He needed to be dealt with a bit more permanently, luckily they were right by a graveyard. It was all worth it though, you can't put a price on privacy. Also the empty houses made for good backups in case this one was destroyed.

That brings us to here and now, with Vlado rubbing the red command seals on his hand as he nodded to himself with a confident smile. The circle was complete, the catalyst was in place, and there was definitely nobody around to interrupt him. "All right, time to get started." Vlado held out his hand and gathered his Od, waiting for the exact moment in which his magical energies were at their strongest. Then he began the ritual. His eyes narrowed, a sharp determination resting within them as he recited the words to summon his Servant.

"Let silver and steel be the essence.
Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation.
Let white be the color I pay tribute to.
Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall.
Let the four cardinal gates close.
Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate.

Let it be declared now;
your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be with your sword.
Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail.
Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth.

An oath shall be sworn here.
I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven;
I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell.

From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power,
come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance!

And with a bright flash of light, blinding Vlado as he felt his Od drain from his body, his Servant appeared. Vlado dropped to one knee, panting heavily from both exhaustion and pure excitement. This was the beginning of his path to victory, he just knew it. He had summoned Frankenstein's Monster, a powerful beast who would tear about the weaker heroes summoned like wet paper. Funny how life works though, if he had just kept in the verse he had taken out, he definitely would have gotten the Servant he wanted. Instead as he looked up to the man he had actually summoned, his face morphed into one of confusion. "...You're not Frankenstein." And with that, Vlado's began his Holy Grail War.
