Ami Murota

A cheerful whistling filled the night as Ami waltzed to Miso City Park, a lollipop sticking out her mouth and a bag filled with candy in the other. Opened already of course, but the fact that it wasn't already empty should be a sign that something was different tonight. She was transformed into her Magical Girl form already of course, no need to have some random adult asking what a kid was doing out this late. And of course the first thing she noticed when she got to the Park was Kanbaru tapping away at her phone, with Touka and Chie nearby. "Hey guys! I brought something special for tonight!" Ami sped over to them, stopping near the trio quickly as she showed off the nearly full bag of candy. Indeed, something was very off.

"I figured I should bring something for tonight, it's the first time we've sparred in a while after all! So I brought a bag of candy for the winners!" A sly smile crossed her face immediately after saying this, placing the bag of candy on the bench and placing one hand on her hip. "I figured I could use some sugar after kicking your butts after all." The statement was filled with smug, she was so confident of her victory. Speaking of victory, where was her partner. Her eyes darted around wildly, she usually was late to these kinds of things. Social gatherings of all kinds that is.

Chen was so, so, bored. He sat up straight, didn't yawn, all the respectful things people expected you to do in society when important people were talking. But this speech was so boring! He said things that everyone knew, just getting accepted didn't guarantee his place, being a hero was about blah blah blah, no hand holding, did this guy like the sound of his own voice or what? He found much more interest in the girl who kept glaring over at him and tentacle girl, winking the moment their eyes met with a cocky smirk before focusing back on the dean. Now Chen didn't know much about this guy other than that he used to be a big shot hero before retiring, but damn did he strike an impression. If not with his words than with his mere presence, this was a guy that Chen did not want to ever disrespect.

The speech ran on for a few more minutes about basic stuff, dorms and the like. He briefly noted the glint of reflection off of the dean's glass, smiling at the thought of using a Quirk for something so mundane as chilling your drink. Not that he had never done it before whenever he needed to cut up an apple really quickly, might as well use the cutting Quirk for something right? Finally the speech began to wrap up, with the dean saying something somewhat interesting at the end.

“At the end of the day, whether you are a new student here or have been selected to return you need to remember one thing. Give your best – not for yourself, but for the world. Soar Skyward.”

Not for yourself but for the world huh? Chen almost felt tempted to snort at the statement. Why not give your best for yourself, you're the one making money off of your work, not the world. Although in a very roundabout manner you were making money for the world, but that was besides the point. The speech ended and people began to shuffle out with their pamphlets, Chen knew where his dorm was so there was really no need for them. Regardless, he took one and looked it over, not expecting much and not getting much. He passed by Yoshiba quietly, before stopping suddenly and looking over his shoulder at her with a blank expression. "You know Yoshi-tan, if you don't learn to loosen up you're not gonna last long as a person, let alone a Hero." It was said in a rather neutral tone, partly to tease her, but also as some friendly advice. No person could remain so stiff for so long, it wore down on you. Not that he knew anything about that, his life was pretty much dedicated to his amusement.

"Welp, I'll be seeing you around! Have fun!" And just like that Chen was back to his usual cocky self, whistling as he headed out the building and towards his dorm. What a fun year this was gonna be, fun fun fun. He was no longer looking at Yoshiba, instead focused on his pamphlet. Well, maybe he could get away with just a little more teasing.

"And don't forget! Soar Skyward!"
I'll post tonight, been kinda busy recently

No, there was simply no time. Tesla stopped his preparations immediately, staring at Achilles as he saved his Master and the Whitehall. He truly was the fastest man alive, there would be no chance to hit him unless the conditions were perfect. Yes, he would have to catch the man off guard if he were to eliminate him from the war, in the middle of battle. Something to talk to his alliance about. For now though, he would defend his home. Tesla snapped his fingers, nothing happening for a moment as the electrical devices around him continued to buzz. The mortar cannons shook the air around him, the Tesla coils mounted onto the Church continued to buzz, the fence around him stood tall. Until the fence began to move. In an instant, a dome of pure electricity formed around the entire Church, what had once been a simple fence to keep intruders out was now a fortress of the storm. But it would not withstand an B+ ranked attack, Tesla knew that. So he did something peculiar. He weakened the fence's output just a tad.

The spear struck the fence, instantly breaking through with little effort. But the spear wobbled, it's course had ever so slightly been changed. Tesla had perfectly calculated where the spear would strike and weakened the fence in such a way that the spear would be directed to the left rather than straight at Tesla. But it wouldn't be enough of course, now instead of impaling Tesla it would just blow off the left half of his body. Yet still he was not done. The Tesla coils around him hummed to life, sparking and flashing as Tesla identified their target. An arc of electricity blasted out of them, striking at the spear's right side in an attempt to push it to the left just ever so slightly more. It was still not enough, Tesla would not be able to dodge it. He stepped to the right, calmly watching the spear fly towards him as the mortar cannon to his right fired one last time. The shockwave from the firing was the last push it needed, the spear missed Tesla and flew straight through the other side of the electric dome.

"That could have been bad." An understatement if there ever had been one. Tesla astralized immediately, reappearing in the Church near the Persian Master and the German Master with little fanfare. "You may want to recall your Servants, Achilles just attempted to attack the Church. I have driven off the first assault but we will need all hands on deck if he attempts to attack again more directly. I am not at one hundred percent yet." No time was given for a response as Tesla disappeared into his workshop, ready to work on his latest project. It was time to build the System Keuranos.

Tesla watched the battle between Yamato and Achilles with interest, only because he was morbidly curious as to how the Greek hero would kill her. She dashed into Achilles guard to try and tackle him and Tesla sighed, it was over. And so Tesla began his preparations for the most daring shot any Archer in a Holy Grail War could ever make. He was about to try and hit a man in the middle of teleportation. Every possible route was calculated, every possible speed accounted for, Marksmanship activated, Quick Draw activated, Single Mindedness activated, any skill that could push Tesla's accuracy and speed just a little further, yet still this was going to be within the realm of the impossible. But Tesla was the man who brought Energy to the World, who gave the power of the Gods to Mankind, he was a Voyager of the Stars. Nothing was impossible for the Modern Prometheus.

But it wouldn't be enough, Tesla wouldn't be able to throw hard enough to reach Achilles in time. So he activated his latest invention. Energy hummed to life under his clothes, a faint outline of what appeared to be a metal suit glowing beneath his ornate suit. Tesla's clothes dematerialized, revealing what could only be described as a tuxedo made of metal and lightning. A glowing power core pulsed over his heart, he could feel the suit strengthening everything in him. His bones were sturdier, his legs could move faster, his arms could swing harder, every ligament, tendon, bone, everything in his body instantly becoming greater, every one of his physical parameters had been raised by a full rank at least. But still he continued, drawing upon the Leyline underneath him with his Galvanism as quickly as possible, flooding his body with as much as Mana as possible before he made his attack. All of this preparation took two seconds at most, Achilles was in the process of breaking Yamato's spine as Tesla finally came upon the perfect shot. It would have to be there, right before he reached his Master, every possible path converged there and only there. He would snipe Achilles in his heel, striking at the legendary hero's only weakpoint.

Lightning formed in his hand instantly, compressing itself further and further as Tesla tried to reduce it's drag, making it faster and faster. Every bit of speed would be needed if he were to outpace Achilles even with a headstart. Further, further, the bolt of lightning was the size of a 2 foot long needle. Another thing that should not be reached out for Yamato, now was the time.

Tesla swung as hard as he could, the bolt leaving his fingers with a sonic boom as it instantly reached mach speeds.

It was halfway there, Achilles was now nagging the thing as he looked towards his Master.

Seven eights of the way there, Achilles's foot touched the ground as he began his sprint.

Ninety nine one hundredths of the way there, Achilles was already halfway to his Master.

Tesla wasn't sure if he believed in God, but he prayed to every known deity that this shot land, Zeus especially.

Nine hundred and ninety nine thousand and nine hundred and ninety nine millionths of the way there, Achilles was but ten yards yards from from his Master, a mortar shot exactly two feet above her head.

Against all odds.

Despite being the fastest target to ever exist.

Despite the fact that he had effectively teleported directly to his Master.

The Archer of Zeus hit his shot.

Achilles fell to the ground instantly, forced to watch his Master be blown into chunks of flesh and blood right in front of him. Tesla held back the urge to fall to his knees, letting out a gasp of air he hadn't realized he had been holding. He had just struck down the fastest man to ever live.

Tesla stared out into the distance with sleepy eyes and a somewhat grumpy expression on his face, quickly glancing at the battle between Achilles and the unknown Servant with intrigue as he waited for the mortar cannons to annihilate the three Masters. The Persian Master had woken him up to get him to fire upon the three Masters, dragging him from his desk in the middle of his nap to show the sisters fighting amongst themselves in his strange cup thing. Tesla recognized the opportunity, but bemoaned the situation. Couldn't they have waited for him to finish his nap before becoming targets?

The mortar cannons had been going full force for a few minutes now, in reality he had activated them remotely the moment he had confirmed their location from the roof of the Church. The sisters fought amongst themselves, summoning amalgamates of curses and flinging runes in an attempt to preserve their own lives. What they did not know, was that they had already been penetrated by lines of death, invisible to all eyes but his own as he watched the rain of death fall upon their position with the wrath of god. What they didn't know was that they had been dead since the moment Tesla gazed upon them. A loud yawn escaped his mouth as he rubbed his eyes, feeling the mortar cannons shake his bones as they continued to fire.

There was little warning for the trio, a distant boom reached their ears from the direction of the Church, bright flashes of light emanating from the roof as they had been earlier in the day. Whether or not they would be smart enough to figure out it's target was of little consequence, for they had not the speed to move from their place of death. The first to be struck down was Sophia, she simply wasn't fast enough to escape from the rain of plasma and death that fell from the sky like so many raindrops. She was turned into chunks of meat and blood from a shell of plasma landing a few feet to her left, the shockwave instantly killing her. Those chunks of meat and blood then turned into mere atoms that composed a human body when the next strike hit a moment later, annihilating any trace of her existence from the world. Benita was the next to fall, having been knocked over by Sophia in her mad dash to escape she had not even the time to pray as as she witnessed the wrath of god fall upon her and annihilate her with a single blow. Serafina would witness all of this transpire over the course of but two seconds, before being annihilated herself by a mortar strike from behind, the shockwave turning her body into a substance resembling thick soup. Tesla did not turn off the mortar cannons for another five minutes, just to make absolutely sure that the three sisters were absolutely dead. There would be no recourse, no survival, only the decimation of three humans who thought they could stand among gods without protection.

As Mourningstar stared at Oberon delivering his own apology, she suddenly felt even worse than before. Of course this was just her blowing it all out of proportion, nobody hated her. The only one who really hated her was, well... her. So she projected that onto everyone else, assuming that everyone hated her just as much as she hated herself. She was silent for a while as she noted Digbie heading over just as Oberon gave his advice. Just be herself? No, she can't be herself. Herself is weak, herself locked herself away from the world in an attempt to cope with her myriad issues. "I know what you're saying sounds good but... I can't be myself. I don't like myself, that's why I'm trying to be someone different. Mourningstar is bold, she tries to lead others and protect her friends. I'm sorry if I came off as bossy, I'm just trying to figure out who the new me is. I can try to be nicer, but I can't be myself anymore. If I do that then I'm definitely going to die. That's a fact." It was a weak argument, but it was all she had. Digbie finally made it over, asking if she was going to be leaving. Mourningstar shook her head as best she could, looking towards the Wisps she had located with what appeared to be confidence. Only Oberon knew the truth now, hopefully he would be able to keep a secret.

"Don't worry, I have a plan. You know how every single species seems to have a progenitor in the cave? The Mother Slime, the Momma Rat, the big goblin that's getting all the other goblins together to attack us? Well I think there's probably a Mother Wisp too, I might know where to find her as well. I'll be back quickly, but for now I need you guys to get ready for war. It's gonna be a tough fight, but we'll all make it through this." Mourningstar began to float up towards the Wisps, but stopped and looked back at Oberon. "And to clarify. I'm not the Demon King's General. We all are. We were all chosen by him for this second life, so we must have some importance. Just saying." Perhaps it was something to reassure herself, perhaps it was something to try and make her look a little nicer. Regardless, Mourningstar flew for the wisps in hopes of finding her mother.
Draugr

Beaten to the punch, unfortunate but it was a fact of life. The thing was an unidentifiable existence, completely unknown to it's Master despite his vast knowledge. But it didn't matter what it was, Tesla would send another familiar to collect the corpse later. Now all that mattered was getting the spear back from that which sought to claim it first. The draugr opened it's mouth, wider than any human jaw could ever unhinge, a metal barrel peeking out from behind it's rotting gums as it aimed directly at the familiar. Not even a moment later it fired, blasting a bolt of lightning at the thing with such force that the few remaining teeth it had rattled loose.

Two more draugr jumped from the Church towards the Railyard, eager to backup their brother from the following familiars that Tesla had spotted from afar. Let the battle begin.
