PawnChessmon (Black) A digimon survivor from one of the two fallen chessmon empires. Whereas the white chessmon empire fell to a corruption zone, the black chessmon empire was destroyed by a different threat, although PawnChessmon pretends to have no memory of that, and publicly claims it was either the white chessmon or the corruption zone that destroyed her former home. She intends to play ignorant of the real perpetrator until such time she gains the strength to pay them back with the same coin. She wishes to gain the power to become the next chessmon queen, intending to restore their fallen empire. To do that though, she must save the digital world itself first.
@King Cosmos Yeah, I was thinking single-episode "throwaway" characters would be a good way to experiment with that suits us, and if you like the character, you can make them permanent addition.
What I was hitting at though was that it'd be good if anyone who is OK playing multiple "mains" posted some concepts for the partner humans/digimon, so that there is a larger pool to create the pairs form. By my count we have:
You wanting to play a human Byte with "either or" and with a digimon idea over on discord Rin mentioned playing a digimon, though I didn't see whether partner or wild.
I plan to put up a human and partner digimon bids myself, though I figure I'll act as the 'fallback' in case any partner character is left unmatched.
I should post the partner templates tomorrow, but you can expect more or less a different flavor of the same - The key difference will be that the partner pair only has a single digivolution line available (Taken from the 'mechanics available at the start of the game' point of view, who can tell what the future holds ;) ), but they will not have to hunt for any knowledge or artifacts to obtain them - just get along with their partner. For the humans, I am inclined to use the tamer subtype, with access to the digi-modify mechanic.
Spirit wielder template is up. I've also posted my character as example. You have leeway to get creative, and also to omit sections if it makes sense - If you provide enough images/faceclaim, appearance section is unncecessary etc.
Like with the general rules and setting, holler if you see an issue or if something isn't clear :)
Name: Kita Yuki Nickname: 'Ki' for anyone who doesn't know which of her names is the given and which is the surname, as both contain the syllable. Age: 18 Gender: Female Nationality: Swedish/Japanese Aspect: Ice Digivice appearance: A silver chain from which she hangs her spirit totems. Whatever information a regularly shaped digivice is able to provide, Yuki is given it as if it was something she always knew, but only while she wears her digivice.
Appearance
Height: 180 cm Weight: 65 kg Build: Athletic Skin tone: Pale white Facial structure: A triangular face with a pointy chin, framed by bangs of blonde hair. The hair reaches below her bum and she usually keeps it unbound or in a ponytail. Yuki's eyes are green. Outstanding details: Her totems are literal miniature totem poles that attach to her necklace/digivice. Clothing preferences: Yuki wears comfortable clothing, preferring a skirt and a t-shirt, or a school uniform, actually. Body language: Yuki has two faces. In public, she can appear cheery and laid back, but in private or when things get serious, her posture seems to stiffen up and her facial expression seems to take on an almost sadistic undertone.
Biography
Family situation: Wealthy, but divorced family of mixed nationalities (Swedish mother, Japanese father) Education: Attending a business oriented school in Japan. General world skills: Sewing, orientation sense, planning. Special skills: Figure skating, fencing. Personal history: Yuki comes from parents whose love burned bright, but for a short time, not helped by the fact that they both had commitments in countries half the world apart. Soon after she was born, Yuki's mother left to focus on her modelling career, and never really appeared in Yuki's life for as long as the girl can remember. As such, she grew up quite a daddy's girl.
That however doesn't mean that she was spoiled. In fact, her father, a businessman and investor of some renown, put quite a few expectations into her. He pretty much lined up Yuki's future as his heir, without considering her input too much. Any sort of attempt to deviate from the path was met with scorn and comments of her being 'frivolous like her mother'. That is not to say that she was not given resources when she wanted to partake in a hobby, but even the hobbies were rated, pushing her to excel in them. She stuck with figure skating and fencing, doing quite well even on the national level.
Personality
Positive character traits: Enduring, Responsible, Decisive Negative character traits: Headstrong, morally ambiguous, cold Likes and hobbies: Sculptures, metal and rock music, science fiction and fantasy movies and literature, Indian food. Dislikes and fears: Being told what to do, hot weather, sea and oceans, and anything evolutionary lower than a fish - bugs, worms, jellyfish and such. Digidestined's motivation: She feels rejected by the real world, thrust into a role she did not want, and constantly being measured and evaluated. The Digital world is a chance for her to start fresh, make wheat she wants of herself, build something for herself, and, though she won't admit it, it is her escape. Therefore, she will protect it like the treasure it is to her. General notes: Due to her upbringing, Yuki is well mannered and won't shy from a conversation with anyone once it is initiated. That however doesn't mean that she will come chat you up, or that you are going to like what she says to you. She is downright cold most of the time, but under the ice is a heart. Other people and their problems don't interest her as much, but if you have something special or even unique about you, her curiosity will break the ice.
Her friends she considers family and will do much for them, but if you get on her bad side, you'll find out that revenge is a dish best served cold - Yuki can hold a grudge, and for a loooong time. Her biggest flaw and yet a strength would be her pride, which can be exploited against her and yet she considers it the source of her every success. It also makes her seem stubborn at times.
In her free time, she likes to equally engage both her body and her mind. A bit 'damaged' by her family's wealth, she is slightly above the amusement of the 'peasants', choosing a bit eccentric - and expensive - hobbies. Her version of exercising means going to a winter stadium to practice figure skating, and blowing off steam is best done with a sword in hand. She also likes driving to relax, especially in her father's 911 turbo.
Rookie form: Cutemon, with custom moveset. Mood music:Netflix's Ultraman OST - Marie Details: Cutemon's spirit is inert. The Digimon that formed it was originally supposed to be Yuki's partner Digimon, who met an untimely end before Yuki arrived to the Digital World. It is represented by a pink totem pole with a red scarf wrapped around it.
When using this spirit, some of the Digimon's personality is imprinted onto Yuki and she is meeker than usual. Her abilities reflect this in allowing Yuki to disappear and run, or support other Digimon to do the fighting.
Moveset:
Healing glow (Cooldown: 3 posts) - Envelops the target with an empowering glow that heals injuries.
Overcharge (Duration: 1 post; Cooldown: 2 posts) - Cutemon shares its power with another digimon, increasing their offense and defense.
Instant winter (Diameter: 5 m; Cooldown: 2 posts) - Creates a patch of ice or snow in the area around it.
Concussive wave (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Cutemon screams loud enough to send a shockwave.
Champion:Arctimon - An Ice variant of Agunimon Mood music:XCom 2 WotC OST - Deadeye Dark alternative suggestion:Hyogamon Details: While as Cutemon she was shying away from a fight, Yuki's champion form remedies that. Although, Arctimon isn't a fighter that would rush an opponent head-on, instead preferring to lie in wait and strike from the shadows. When forced to a confrontation, Arctimon is a type of fighter that conserves its strength, waiting to get a decisive attack in rather than overwhelm its opponent with brute force, which it lacks - Arctimon relies on agility and grace. She has a good balance of defensive and offensive abilities.
Agunimon's spirit is a tired warrior that fought in another larger conflict in the ancient times. As such, he has lost any drive to fight for honor, glory, or the thrill of it, and urges Yuki to be strategic in her fights, ideally winning them before they even begin. He is represented by a burning totem pole.
Moveset:
Freezing claw (Duration: Until broken off or 2 posts; Cooldown: 1 post) - Melee attack that covers the place it hits with ice, hindering the opponent's movement.
Ice shield (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Grows a kite shield out of ice to use as a defense.
Ice javelin - Grows a shard of ice and launches it as a ranged attack.
Permafrost barrier (Durability: 1 ultimate attack, 2 champion attacks, 5 rookie attacks; Cooldown: 3 posts) - Arctimon can summon a barrier of ice to protect herself and her allies. It can take the shape of a straight wall or a dome.
Twisting blizzard (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Throws a vortex of freezing cold wind at the opponent, mildly disorienting them.
Avalanche charge (Cooldown: 3 posts) - Conjures two ice blades to perform several cuts at great speed.
Ultimate form:Blizzardramon - An Ice variant of Megadramon Mood music:Ancient Space OST - Ancient Colossus Dark alternative suggestion:Gigadramon - She is so cold, she may as well be a machine. Details: Like Gigadramon, Blizzardramon is further development of Megadramon. It has been updated with better melee attacks as well as modified to be better able to fight on the ground, and Yuki's influence gives its attacks an elemental property. The spirit itself influences Yuki in a different way, making her Ultimate evolution rather aggressive and actually glad for a good fight - Unlike Agunimon, Megadramon is a fighter who seeks nothing but the next challenge, enjoying a battle and the feeling of dominating an opponent. He is represented by a red totem pole with an eel-like dragon wrapped around it.
Moveset:
Polar cannon - Shoots a barrage of freezing energy out of its giga hands. While a relatively low power attack, it doesn't cost much energy and has short cooldown.
Blizzard beam (Cooldown: 2 posts) - An overdriven version of the Polar cannon in the form of a beam weapon. It has longer cooldown, but greater power.
Wing blizzard (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Summons a chilling snowstorm by beating its wings, obscuring the target's vision.
Slithering charge (Cooldown: 1 post) - Charges the opponent and rams them at high speed.
Glacier cutter - Uses its giga hands to snip at the opponent.
Wing razor (Cooldown: 1 post) - Blizzardramon spins and slashes with its razor sharp wing.
Tail strike (Cooldown: 1 post) - A powerful aerial melee attack. Blizzardramon flips and strikes the opponent with its massive whip-like tail.
Mega digivolution method: Fusion evolution - Yuki must demonstrate strong enough will over her two spirits, whose personalities are butting heads and can seemingly never agree on anything due to being polar opposites. Mood music:Power Rangers Wild Force - Predazord Theme Dark alternative suggestion:Cryodramon, and Ice variant of Chaosdramon Details: A very different digimon than Wargreymon, using Blue digizoid to change how she operates. It makes Eisgreymnon less durable, but for her size she has agility and speed outclassing most others. Her wings double as a shield, allowing her to tank harder strikes. Unlike previous forms, Yuki is in full control and the personalities of her spirits are suppressed, as that is the only way she can get them to cooperate in this form. That makes it extremely mentally taxing for her though, and it is easy to slip out of control and either lose this form, or have it change into something worse.
Moveset:
Kelvinforce (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Removes all of the energy within a concentrated spot in the atmosphere, then launches the supercooled singularity at the target.
Shiverslash (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Moves at great speed to the target's blind or weak spot to strike at them with the Dramon Killers.
Dramon Killer - Uses both claws to do a slashing attack that covers the target with ice if it fails to do damage.
Great Blizzard (Duration: 3 posts; range: 100m; Cooldown: 5 posts) - Creates a huge tornado of snow and sleet, hindering movement, filling the area with noise and reducing visibility to zero in the area around her.
Cosmic ice barrier (Durability: 1 mega or ultimate attacks, 3 champion attacks, impregnable by rookies; Cooldown: 3 posts) - Creates a barrier in a shape it desires out of the densest phase of ice.
Avalanche detonation (Diameter: 250 m) - Yuki detonates her spirit totems and releases their power as her aspect, turning a large area into a glacier, trapping anyone present under tons of ice. This will release the spirits in question.
Mood music:Christian Reindl - Claim Your Weapons Details: Only if Yuki and her two conflicting spirits achieve true alignment on purpose can they digivolve into SquallGreymon, the icy variant of EmperorGreymon. The personality of this Digimon though depends on the journey the human and her two spirits took to get there.
Moveset:
Chilling word (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Breathes raw ice elemental energy over the target, freezing them in place.
Verdict (Cooldown: 2 posts) - Slashes at the target with its sword, the Judgement.
Heat death (Duration: 1 post; range: 100m; Cooldown: 5 posts) - Drops the temperature in the area to extremely low levels, sapping energy out of everyone around.
Divine ice barrier (Durability: 1 super mega or mega attacks, 3 ultimate attacks, impregnable by champions; Cooldown: 3 posts) - Creates a barrier in a shape it desires out of the ice imbued with divine power.
Pocket ice age (Channeling: 3 posts; Diameter: 500m; Degenerates afterwards) - Unleashes its peak elemental powers, covering a very large area in snow and ice.
Nuclear winter - Yuki detonates her spirit totems to cause nuclear winter on the entire continent she is based at. This permanently destroys the involved spirits, and also permanently alters the continent's climate to that of Antarctica.

Positive character traits: At least three Negative character traits: At least three Likes and hobbies: From the view of the night sky, or the feeling of air rushing by when they fly... Dislikes and fears: ...to heights, or having to speak in public. Motivation: Why did the Digital World choose *this Digimon* as a Digidestined? What is it that makes them think they have what it takes to save the world where stronger Digimon failed, or why do they want to try regardless, even knowing the odds aren't in their favor? Survival instinct, ambition, altruism, vengeance, … so long as they are driven to act. General notes: Any extra flavor details.
Champion: Regular Champion evolution. (Example: Angemon) This will take longer to attain than other character types, due to Wild Digimon drawing no power from a human, but unlike other character types, it is a permanent form. This will be guaranteed at the start of chapter 2 at the latest.
Alternate Champion(s): Starting from champion level, Wild digimon have access to temporary alternate forms. 1-2 possible evolutions of the rookie form using non-standard evolution methods, such as armor, available earlier than their regular form. (Example: Pegasusmon). Alternatively, a weaker version of the regular champion form. (Example: Season 2's Gatomon without her tail ring) Like Spirit wielders having to hunt for new spirits, Wild Digimon will have to learn this evolution method, like finding armor eggs, IC. The only free alternative is a mode change of the standard form, which however requires access to the standard form to begin with. Dark Champion suggestion: Optional. If omitted, GM will assign this if and when the time comes. This is a suggestion to the GM, but GM has the final decision how a dark form manifests. Details: Optional unless custom Digimon. Moveset required for custom Digimon.
Alternate Ultimate: A variant of their regular Champion line "flavored" through the use of the selected non-standard evolution methods (e.g. Angemon + Darkness armor-egg = Myotismon). Dark Ultimate suggestion: Same as for the champion level. Details: Optional unless custom Digimon. Moveset required for custom Digimon.
Mega: Regular Mega evolution.
Alternate Mega: A mega level achieved by using a high level alternative method, like a golden armor egg. This method would have to be learned IC. The only exception is a mode change of the standard form, which however requires access to the standard form to begin with. Dark Mega: Same as for the champion level. Details: Optional unless custom Digimon. Moveset required for custom Digimon.
Super Mega: Only possible if the Digimon acquires an additional Digicore and survives the process. This becomes their "true" apex form.
Details: Optional unless custom Digimon. Moveset required for custom Digimon.

Whatever: Relationships with others, theme music, voice actor, small quirks—anything that adds flavor but does not change abilities.
Name: Nickname: If they have any Age: Consider these characters are humans that actively engage in battle as hybrid digimon before you make them a 10 year old. Make sure you are OK writing that. Gender: Nationality: Aspect: A Spirit Wielder has something about them that can be defined in one or two words that influences how they affect their hybrid Digivolution. This could be an element (Fire), a character trait (Honor), a hobby (Fishing), a fascination with an animal or mythological beast (Dragon), or something similar. Their Digivolution line should reflect this trait, as this is what will draw the spirits to them (e.g. Sword wielding digimon drawn to a Fencing hobbyist), or what will influence the digivolution (A character with an Ice aspect using Greymon spirit results in SnowGreymon). Bonus points if it is tied deeply into your character. Digivice appearance: Customize to your heart's content. It has to be a physical item.

Digivolution line
α-Hybrid spirit: The Digimon spirit you use to Digivolve into a rookie form. Spirit wielders start with this spirit in their possession.
Rookie: The Digimon that actually emerges from the Digivolution. Either the same as the spirit, or influenced by the Spirit Wielder's aspect. Details: Optional for canon Digimon. This can also include personality and history, if you wish for the Digimon spirit to be a sentient entity. This section is mandatory for customized Digimon, and must include a moveset for those.
H-Hybrid spirit: The Digimon spirit you use to Digivolve into a champion form. Must be humanoid in appearance. The spirit totem of this Digimon must either be found IC or gained by defeating a champion or greater Digimon that would be drawn by your character's aspect.
Champion: Same as in the α-Hybrid spirit section. Dark alternative suggestion: Same as above, but a result of dark Digivolution. Optional. If omitted, GM will assign this if and when the time comes. This is a suggestion to the GM, but GM has the final decision how a dark form manifests. Details: Same as in the α-Hybrid spirit section.
B-Hybrid spirit: The Digimon spirit you use to Digivolve into an ultimate form. Must be a beast in appearance. The spirit totem of this Digimon must either be found IC or gained by defeating an ultimate or greater Digimon that would be drawn by your character's defining trait.
Ultimate: Same as in the α-Hybrid spirit section. Dark alternative suggestion: Same as in the H-Hybrid spirit section. Details: Same as in the α-Hybrid spirit section.
Mega: Depending on your method of attaining a mega level. As before, this can be influenced by the character's aspect.
Mega digivolution method: Customizable. This can be a different kind of shape-themed spirit (V-Vehicular, D-Demonic, A-Angelic and the like), spirit fusion (The character willing, ordering or forcing the spirits to cooperate), or something else, but not a unified spirit evolution. Modify this section accordingly. Dark alternative suggestion: Same as in the H-Hybrid spirit section. Details: Same as in the α-Hybrid spirit section.
Super Mega: This form is exclusively a unified spirit evolution - When the character manages to utilize all of their spirits with such skill that it supersedes fusion evolution. This is extremely hard to attain, especially if your spirits are sentient and have conflicting characters. As this is a perfectly aligned form, a dark alternative does not exist - You must be unified and in control, even if you agree on joining the dark side.
Details: Same as in the α-Hybrid spirit section.
