@FrettzoThat would be fine if not for the fact that you'd be the only player on the enemy's side thus far. I mean, I guess you could do it, if you make two characters (a hero and a villain), but that's mainly because you'd be playing outside of the main focus.

You can always introduce side arcs in your story. They usually take a couple chapters to complete and boost your wordcount by around 5-6k. I know I was worried about where to take my story and I decided to tackle that worry by doing a side arc. Turns out that side arc turned into the perfect continuation of the main arc, so there.

Hello! I'm interested, though I'd like to know if I could play a villain sort of character, who instead of being part of the hero group, was part of the violent entity's cult or part of something else entirely. Having a character trying to screw up the main group could be interesting, and I want to try out some character ideas before putting them in my professional writing!

Well, I made progress today. 1,750 or so more words, which is enough to get me closer to the actual daily goal! My sickness set me back a bit, but with luck, I'll be fully on track by Sunday.


Man, I've been getting so much motivation the last couple of days since you bested my word counts. I just want to get my lead back! Be very careful, for I might recover it today >:)

I got into RPing sometime in 2010. Back then, it was full escapism for me. I'm not gonna delve too deep on that one, but Roleplaying did save my life on more than one occasion, and it possibly helped me avoid (cure?) developing mental illnesses that would've made my life a living hell. After I was free from the shackles of escapism, I actually began to enjoy Roleplaying because of the world and character creation.

Nowadays, I find it hard to settle in any roleplay. I believe I'm growing out of this stage, as I've been increasingly interested in traditional, single-author writing for a while now. Participating in NaNoWriMo and managing to write more on a single novel than I've ever been able to has really made me feel great, so perhaps this is me saying goodbye/see you later to one of the most important activities and stages in my life, the Roleplayer stage.

Well, focusing your time into a large project can be really fun if you settle into a rhythm. Novel writing is not for everyone, though.
