Everything was set in motion. Damien followed behind Kyran as he made his way home from work. The madman had contemplated on how he would do it for hours. It was all about the staging or eas it all about how much he would enjoy this? Kyran walked with a pep to his step, enjoying the crisp sounds of night as opposed to throwing in earphones. Tonight had been an easy night for him as far as work went. He just couldn't wait till he could get home and feed Moham some food he managed to bag up. He definitely loves the pork chops. The little guys is probably waiting right at the door for me.

”Help!” Rose's voice called from a dimly lit garbage filled alleyway. Kyran raised an eyebrow confused as to what his coworker could be doing in such a nasty place, but worry took him away from his thinking.

"Rose?!" Kyran entered the alleyway looking around as he tried to find the young woman he had worked so closely with. The two were not the best of friends, but he wouldn't just leave her helpless.

"Help… me… Holy Saviors… They..." Rose's voice was much more faint, but sounded as if it was coming from the far end of a brown dumpster. Kyran hurried to the dumpster, but before he could round it, he felt excruciating pain pierce his back before being raised up from off the ground. He had let out a yelp as he dropped his plastic bag of food, but it wasn't enough to give attention to his fate. "Surprise!"

Kyran spit up blood while in shock as he felt his legs go limp. Whatever was digging into his back was deliberately crushing his spinal cord. He whimpered and panted as he felt his body get elevated high enough that all he could see was the night sky above him before he started to gurgle and choke on his own blood. CRACK!

His body was violently slammed into the brick wall of the alley. The left side of his body might as well have been hit by a speeding car. The pain was nothing he could comprehend, yet he couldn't scream. All that came out was a disturbing stuttered mess with a wheezing that sounded like it belonged to some feral creature fighting to live. His left arm swung loosely from its dislocation.

A growl escaped his assailant before CRACK! Again his body was slammed, but this time it was the other side. And this time Kyran didn't utter a sound as blood leaked from his wounds.

Kyran did not deserve a death like this, but Damien found pleasure in every moment of it. The body was tossed into the dumpster as Lucy fluttered out from behind the dumpster with a croak. Once it was shut, the Damien scaled the walled of the alley before using the short rooftops to travel into the woods south of Road 69.

This is just the beginning, Rose. I will stand at your side as we watch your world crumble together. Won't that be special?

The brief pushing from Myra was just enough to stir Darius from his slumber. It was not instantaneous, but it broke him away from his "dream" and back to reality. Darius' eyes slowly opened revealing their new deep red hue as he gazed upon both of his female companions in the room with him.

"Why are you looking at me like that…"

"...subtle changes…"

'What did he do?!" Darius sat up quickly and slipped out of the bed covers in a near panic. He immediately went to the mirror on the bedroom dresser. "What?! What the fuck?! My eyes! My hair!" Darius soon sighed before feeling a tingling sensation on his wrist. As he looked down and pulled his sleeve back, he noticed a peculiar mark. "Proof of the covenant…" He whispered to himself. Darius rolled his sleeve back with a look of discomfort. His eyes found Artemis and Myra again as he whipped back around to face then I don't want to worry them, especially Myra.

Darius smiled, trying to ease any worries the two might have. He almost felt like he was explaining how there was no way he was cheating on his girlfriend after being caught with some questionable direct messages in his inbox.

"Okay, don't worry about my face. I… Myra, remember the red crystal?" Darius motioned his hands to mimic how he had smashed the crystal in his palm. "It had this weapon thing inside and now I have it." He tried to go for a simple explanation. Darius looked into the mirror again with an uneasy look before turning back to the ladies. "It makes me look a little weird, but I'm…better. Honestly, I feel good and..." Darius smirked before he flexed his biceps and making that constipated looking face he thought many bodybuilders made while posing. He wasn't even more muscular than he already was.

Even with his goofy antics, he wasn't sure if they would accept his explanation.

"I promise, I'm fine." Darius presented his pinky to Myra, this time with a more serious tone and a look of confidence. He didn't want Myra to worry too much and not lose faith in him. His eyes shifted to Artemis for a moment. He wondered what the mermaid was thinking. She hadn't expressed what she really wanted for herself yet. She seems to like hanging with us, but does she know what that completely entails? I should tell her. I wouldn't want to drag a stranger into this mess I got myself into, especially not after everything she's seems to have already been through.

Amas: Spent 4500 amas

Skar slammed her sack of amas down onto the slave market counter after she had made a decision on what slaves she was interested in. The dark elf merchant raised an eyebrow at the sack and smiled. He didn't care if Skar was a three-eyed troll with six arms. Amas was amas.

"4,500 amas. Skar want troll slave, ogre slave, and spend rest on goblin slaves." Skar demanded as she pointed at the cages that held the slaves she wanted. "Deal?" Skar said, mimicking Darius with a playful smirk.

"You got it." The slaver said after he had counted the amas out. "You can go pick out the ones you want…. Oh and I assume you'll need some way to transport your slaves. We might-"

"We swim across. First test of strength. Skar will not have weak slaves." Skar stared fiercely into each cage at the creatures that heard her words. She chose the ones that appeared to be the least discouraged by her proclamation. Once the slaves were chosen Skar spoke "I am Skar! Skar free you from chains! Skar is your chief! You will follow Skar to food, amas, and what we take from raids! If not, I kill you and feed to rest… Deal?" Skar raised an eyebrow when she didn't get the reply she wanted from the misfit group of green skins. "When Skar say deal! You say deal back! Deal?!"

Most of the goblins managed to let out a bit of a shriek that sounded more like "deee" while the troll and ogre did the same in more of a grunt.

"Deal!" A single goblin shouted clearly before putting on a proud, but creepy smile. Skar nodded to the goblin and pointed at him.

"Clever goblin! Stupid smile! Your name is Dari! You lead other goblins! Goblin Boss Dari!" Skar shouted before motioning for the group to follow her to the shallowest part of the channel.

Meanwhile, the dark elf slave market merchants chuckled at the crazy event that had just occurred.

"We either witnessed the oddest band of creatures marching to their death or the beginning of a deadly combination of creatures… They'll be put down before they even reach the Illuminata Kingdom.

After dropping off the old man to the Operation Humanity base, Sean remained at the base while trying to work on an operation for tomorrow night.

"It's steak time!" Sean said with a big smile as he got up from his work desk shifted towards a George Foreman grill on the far end of his desk. He pulled the freshly cooked steak from the grill with a fork and placed it onto a cheap orange plastic plate. Sean took a deep inhale as he smelled the deliciously cooked meat. He couldn't be any happier at this moment. Work and steak were the two women in his life he couldn't choose between, but the grill let the man have both at the same time. It was a blissful dream. If only he had a grill that he could install in his truck.

There were nights where it was better to not hit the streets. This was one of them. Operation Humanity had many resources when it came to either murdering or capturing the supernatural. As Sean saw it especially tonight, the night clubs were the biggest problem in Ember Grove. The nightclubs were like ice cream socials for the vampires and a safe-haven for their activities. There was too much risk and collateral for a guy like him.

Niko and Angel can match up with vampires fairly well, but I can't. They get their hands on me, and I'm in trouble. He needed a way to get them out of the clubs, and he had thought of a nice trick for the monsters that preyed on the humans inside. Tomorrow would be Friday night, possibly the best time to catch all the fish in his net.

He cut a portion from his tenderloin grinning before taking a bite. It was probable the man would spend the entire night. He eyed the sleeping bag rolled up under his desk. Nevermind it was obvious he would be spending the entire night there.

Instead of traveling around the castle to reach Edena, Kol found it quicker to walk through the front of Morteum traverse through the castle to reach Edena. As he carried Darius over his shoulder, he contemplated on the next training session.

He will be tougher and won't allow himself to end up in this sorry state again. I am sure he will give in to Malgormuun. The cooperation will become dependence. Then the dependence will lead to the human's assimilation. For now, I will report his progress to Aklenroth.

After several minutes, Kol delivered Darius to his room and laid him on the bed. Kol remained mindful of Darius' comfort despite being the reason he was in this predicament in the first place. Kol removed Darius' tattered leather armor and boots before covering him with the bed covers. With that done, Kol took his leave in order to meet with Aklenroth and leave Darius to his own personal demon…

"Finally." A deep but strained voice echoed. Darius opened his eyes, finding himself standing on the beach facing the sea. He could see people enjoying the sun, the sand, and the water. The only odd thing was, he couldn't hear them. It was as if someone hit the mute button on… just the people. The waves and the light breeze were clear and crisp to his ears. The last thing he remembered was falling asleep, Darius figured this was all just some dream or that Kol had murdered him and this was just some weird afterlife. That is until the voice he had initially heard spoke from beside him. "This is the world you want to get everyone back to? That's quite a goal." A black humanoid figure stood to Darius' right, or rather it floated. Darius flinched, taking a single step back. The figure's head turned to him, and that's when he realized the figure sort of looked like himself, except it was like shadow come to life. "You're calmer than I thought you'd be. Then again, you've seen a lot today… That thing you did to protect yourself from the dark elf… That was me and this right here is my introduction so to speak."

"And now you're going to protect me from danger here on out, right? If you agree, I agree. Good talk. Now put me in a better dream than this. You could've conjure up a party in Ibiza or a women's volleyball match at least." Darius really didn't want to talk to this thing, let alone acknowledge it. He didn't ask for it, but then again, it came in clutch when he needed it.

"It's not that simple. I will not assist you if you do not aid Aklenroth in the eradication of the rebellion."

"Uh no, that's not what I agreed to. All I need to do is get the humans out of here so you guys can kill each other. I don't care about this war."

"But I do! And you should care as well. What do you think the rebels will do if you even manage to gather up your kind and send them back? How about I show you!" The figure looked to the muted people enjoying the beach, then a tear opened up between two people, a mother and a child, before pulling them into it. Then another opened sucking in a third person. The tears continued to open throughout the beach with Darius watching with a scowl. "The DROMs and those who seek to use them will not let you take their prized weapons from them! And every day you fail to separate your kind from these desperate rebels, the less likely they are to leave. I don't know what kind of life they led on your world, but the power to bend the elements at your fingertips is enticing. Mix that with their belief of saving this world from Aklenroth! You want to bring people to their world… but I know you're not naive enough to assume that this represents everyone's world" He spoke harshly, but his words bore truth. Darius just listened as he looked at the now empty beach. The silence now matched the scenery before him. Darius thought about people who may have lived miserable or lackluster lives before coming to Avalia, knowing that those kinds of people would want a fresh start.

"Then how do I…" Darius more so said this to himself rather than the entity. He was wondering if this is what Kol had meant about his goal being a difficult path.

"You've seen the horrors those of your world and those of mine have experienced due to the presence of humans when you smashed that red gem. You need to save the humans that need saving and prevent anymore from being pulled in by the DROMs. Those that choose to stay… I'll leave that up to you, but they will continue to fight if there is a rebellion to fight for. So now I ask of you… Aid me in the eradication of the rebellion, and I will assist you in accomplishing your goal, Darius."

"And the catch? There's always a catch with this stuff."

"Of course. Being transparent helps us both. I require mana from you in order to be of assistance. The same mana you use to perform your elemental magic."

"Water… I can still use it though, right?"

"Of course. Your pool of mana is small now, but it will become vast with time… Versatility will be your weapon. I, Malgormuun will be your weapon." Malgormuun

"Hmm." Darius still wasn't completely sold, but it wasn't his elemental magic that helped him today.

"You should also expect some subtle changes in your appearance. Think of it as proof of our covenant."

"Subtle changes to my appearance???" Darius looked upon the shadowed figure nervously before sighing. Uncertainty nearly overpowered him before his eyes scanned the empty beach. It had once been filled with people enjoying the world that was no longer his own... At least until he could return… "You got a deal." He said without looking at Malgormuun. His eyes focused on the beach. He'd try to save them, and he'd crush the rebellion to do it.

Meanwhile as he lay in bed, the hair on his began to darken at the roots before slowly spreading up. A subtle change.

This elf woman… Elusive and covers her tracks well. First the burning of the home and then the false name given to both Zelginn and Lord Norkas. Umber floated through the poorer districts of Roshmi City, bothered by what had occurred today.

The brothel had been a wonderful buffet of emotions, but since leaving, he only found disappointment. Lord Norkas lacked any honor and gave away Lady Tsarra after four of his fingers were broken. The rest of the fingers that were broken provided Umber with clarity. The hate born in Lord Norkas through his torture for Lady Tsarra provided Umber with a clear image of the elf woman. And as Umber surmised, she matched the elven woman who Soruklithbaal had seen in the woods with humans a week ago. Confirmation is good, but I will find you Lady Tsarra… As darkness falls on the city, I rise in power.

Umber had been across town at the docks, but he was quickly floating towards hos bext destination. "It's a place for people like her go to on occasion. Full of lowlife scum and aaaaaaah!" Umber chuckled as remembered Lord Norkas. He missed his cherished Azriel, but was glad she had been absent. He was the worst thing she could come across. A squealing pompous light elf… The elf may have faired better with the angel of death. Lord Norkas was alive, and his physical injuries minor, but Umber had broken the man into a muted stupor. He would no longer squeal and he would no longer find the ability to speak or feel praise. All Lord Norkas was capable of was trembling with his body curled into a tight ball while whispering the same thing over and over to himself.

"Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber… Umber…"

So Lady Tsarra, will you be of worth to me or will I break you as easily as that fool? The demon's eyes glowed menacingly in the dark of night.

Of all the witch hunters Damien had met, Xavier hands down was the scariest. The man shot the nun dead from just an accusation. Sure, Damien knew the woman was a witch, but Xavier just took his word for it.

Damien shook his head as he walked the streets of Ember Grove once more. This time he was headed for Alexie’s to grab a bite and scope out the place before he actually had to go in with Nathalie the following night. Lucy had informed Damien of her suspicion on the dive bar being a supernatural hub. Every city had something similar, except this one was much more inclusive.

Violet won't let me anywhere near Rose… so a chance meeting at Alexei's will have to do. Damien winced as he picked up the scent of… everything. He stopped in place as he looked around at the parking lot outside of Alexei's. Mutts and bloodsuckers. And you work here, Rose? Damien furrowed his brows, but proceeded towards the bar. Lucy, who had been fluttering from light pole to light pole flew away, going south to scout some more.

Upon entry, Damien was given a hard look by the doorman before he was deliberately given a wristband. He found it to be an odd instance, but shrugged off his suspicions, paid his cover and entered.

"Another new face? Damn we must be popular tonight! Name's Kyran. What can I start you off with?" The young man working the bar greeted with a smile as Damien took a seat. He kept his composure as not to draw too much attention to how odd he found this establishment to be

"A shot of tequila. I love a good punch in the face to start things out. No salt, no lime." Damien joked lightly. Why the fuck are all the scents gone? Well not gone, just so dull… Witchcraft? That or they have the best odor blockers on the market.

"Hey, go big or go home is what I say. You new in town? I've never seen you here before." Kyran said as Damien handed him his credit card.

"Yeah, I'm actually visiting a friend who works here, but I think I got here too late… I told her I'd check it out before she got off. Oh well..." Damien lied.

"Rose?"

"Yeah. Not known by any other name." He joked again before eyeing the shot of tequila he ordered. Damien found it disgusting to have to go back to being candid with people. He quickly downed the shot before letting out a sharp exhale. "Consider me punched in the face."

Kyran couldn't help but chuckle. He loved talking to newcomers. They were like a new mystery to uncover. Damien was no different and his relation to Rose piqued his interest. Rose hadn't mentioned a friend coming from out of town. He figured she'd mention someone like him.

"Next up, Long Island Iced Tea." Damien kept up a charming smile as he spoke to Kyran for the rest of the night. He found out much from the young witch through a bit of elicitation. He and Rose's work schedule, the magic of the wristbands, the history of Alexei's, the current owners, the best thing to order on the menu, and even his solo status as a witch. Damien had to flirt a bit, but the lead on was necessary. They exchanged numbers before Damien left the bar. "Text me!" Damien said with a wave farewell. This place turned out to be more interesting than expected. Thanks for the info Kyran. Too bad I have to murder you.

Once Kyran had a moment to do so, he texted Rose.

Just met Damien!

Darius panted heavily as sweat poured down his face. Kol had him on the move ever since they started the training session with breaks only consisting of further instruction or the one time where Darius snorted a bump of flarus to get himself going at what felt like 200%. Darius was positive it was a drug judging by how he had to administer it, but he barely showed any reluctance. He felt the need to push himself, and the flarus was just a means to that end.

"Again?" He let out between heavy breaths. The air was thick with the mana filled blue fog which made it a bit harder to breathe when one was gasping for air to catch their breath. Kol stood before Darius with his arms folded over his chest, his expression as cold as always.

"Now we may proceed to magic. The goal was to completely fill your mana reserves, while training your agility and endurance. We have met that goal." Kol said as a dark aura surrounded him. "You know how to gather your element, shape it, and direct it already… Now you will use it to combat another element. Prepare yourself, human!" The sun set allowing darkness and its dwellers to reign across Avalia.

Later…

Darius found it almost impossible to pick himself up off the ground as darkness sizzled off of his leather armor tattered with holes. He managed to kneel, but his body ached and felt almost too heavy to budge.

Kol seemed to have shown the human little restraint. Whenever Darius didn't deflect or dodge, he felt the brunt of Kol's darkness. The feeling of it seem to hurt him beyond just physically. Each strike seemed to demoralize him as he was given taste after taste of despair. Despite Darius' protests to end the training session, Kol continued. Even now the dark elf approached Darius with his cold silver eyes. The only source of light was the ominous blue glow coming off of the castle. Primal demons howled and screeched in the distance, only adding to the grim experience.

Darius fought with himself to move. The depressant effects of the dark magic blended with his own self doubt. He grit his teeth as tears began to roll down his face in his struggle against himself and his inability. Kol had showed him just how weak he was, with elf having not taking a sliver damage from anything Darius had thrown at him.

"Do not fret Darius. It is not easy facing your own weakness, but it is necessary. So don't be afraid child. Face me with whatever you have left." A tendril of darkness coiled around Kol's right arm as he raised it towards Darius. Darius held up a hand, not in defense, but in an effort to attack. He grunted as his arm trembled from its own weight. As Darius felt himself faltering, his vision blurred before hearing Kol sigh.

"No… Come on!" Darius shouted as he tried to force his magic to activate. He inhaled the mana filled air deeply, but no water was summoned. "Fuck!" On one knee Darius watched Kol fired coiling darkness at him. Failing to build up an attack, Darius threw both his arms up as if his forearms would protect him and block the oncoming darkness. In this moment, he lost faith in his own magic and something sinister surfaced in its stead.

Kol's attack met resistance against a large shield of what appeared to be twisted black steel. As the shield blocked Kol's magic a smirked etched his face. Darius was left unharmed, but his body collapsed as he passed out onto his side. The last thing he saw was the mysterious shield that had protected him slowly shrink and re-enter the skin of his arms. Once he was out, Kol spoke.

"You could have come out sooner Malgormuun." Kol said with disdain as he approached Darius. He picked him up and slung the young man over his shoulder in order to carry him back to Edena.

Kol was a loyal subject of Aklenroth through and through. The Lich King ordered him to forge a weapon against the growing rebellion and Kol would ensure it happened at all costs. Even if it meant that this human would risk eventually losing himself.

The moment the old man ran for it, Sean reached for one of his concealed holsters. Werewolf. Sean concluded before watching Angel outpace and cut him off from his front. Her speed was something to envy at times, but Sean didn't see experimentation as worth the risk. His potions presented their own danger, but he could stop at any time, or so he thought.

"You made this so much easier…" Sean drew and immediately fired a tranquilizer pistol right into the old man's ass. "Direct hit!" Sean Sean watched as the old man turned to face him after being shot, but the tranquilizer was already setting in. He holstered his weapon as he watched the man's eyes glaze over as he stumbled towards Sean and Niko. "Hey man I think you had a little too much to drink. Let's get you out of here." Sean said before he let Lupin collapse onto the sidewalk.

Sean looked to Niko, clearly the strongest amongst the three of them due to his enhancements and the most obvious candidate for carrying Lupin. But Sean proceeded to grab Lupin off of the ground and lift him with a fireman's carry himself.

"Come on grandpa, we're taking you home." Sean said as he walked across the street with the man on his shoulders and to the truck "Have a good night you two. I'll be roaming around here after I get this guy back home." He opened his backseat door and placed the man inside. Once he seated Lupin inside, Sean placed wrist and ankle cuffs on him just in case the tranquilizer worn off too soon. The does he used could keep a lycan out for about 2 hours, but better safe than dead. Once Sean shut Lupin inside, he turned to his colleagues with a smile. "There's still the other one if you want to wait around for her. Anyway, I'll see you two around… Oh, and Angel, I'd try to put a cold spoon on that hickey you got."
