If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

I will put up a post tomorrow. This should extend the date a bit further. I intended to put A company in reserve for the opening salvos of Operation Cobra.
Private First Class Phong was scared out of his wits. His comrades were laying down a heavy base of fire. As soon as he heard the sergeant’s whistle and initial shots, he knew it was time to shoot. Everyone else in the platoon knew it was time to shoot. It took a moment’s hesitation before he caught on to what was going on. The Noise was more than boisterous. He scanned down the sights of his Kalashnikov rifle placing an enemy combatant on the business end of his rifle. The distance could have been more than a hundred meters. Nga slowly pulled the trigger to the rear, feeling the weapon discharge its first round. He eyeballed his intended target who was in a kneeling position atop a building. The man held an American built Garand Rifle, but Nga did not know what it was. He did not move, but kept firing his rifle in the direction of his platoon. Nga aimed again and squeezed off a second round. The kneeling soldier winced to the right, but continued to fire. Each time he squeezed the trigger Nga was overwhelmed by feelings of anxiety. Just as the explosion of the bullet erupted, the anxiety was depleted. Then it returned as he adjusted his aim to take a third shot. This time, he hit his mark, the man falling backward onto the roof of the building he was kneeling on.

Once he achieved his first kill, Nga felt both satisfied with himself and grief for the death he caused. He successfully quelled his foreboding thoughts, continuing to aim and engage targets. Bullets splintered the tree he laid behind causing him to recede back out of sight. He was in no hurry to die; at least not today. Nga then shifted to the left side of the tree, scanning for targets on the left. He found three more and attempted to engage each in succession. After firing the third round, he felt a stinging sensation in his left buttocks. He didn’t think much of it continuing to shoot.

Phong Nga’s adrenaline surged through his veins, making him feel like a Vietnamese superman. A .30 caliber projectile skinned the flesh of his ass and he did not know it. He continued to provide fire for the platoon until told to cease fire. As soon as he dispatched a Southern dog, he would find another and begin shooting. A second bullet knocked his dark green sun helmet off his head. The helmet was completely shattered with a hole in the middle and a crack to permanently make it unusable. Fortunately, the bullet that shattered his helmet missed his skull.
The hunting lodge had become somewhat dilapidated over the years. Ben recalled when it looked like a home. He still called it the lodge, regardless of its current state. It was badly in need of repairs.

Ben and Preston’s dad, Paul bought the cabin in the late 1970s. It had two bunk rooms containing four beds each and a smaller room with two beds. Adjacent to the smaller bunk room, was a room with hasp and padlock used to contain firearms, cleaning supplies, ammunition and other necessary equipment for their survival. In the center room was a large oaken table, as the center piece of the room. The back wall housed a massive stone fireplace with windows flanking each side. A wood stove vented into the chimney to the right, used to prepare meals. The kitchen consisted of a small countertop, maybe four feet long by two and a half feet deep and a single basin sink with water fed from an underground well. Kitchen cabinets held various pots and pans as well as other utensils and a small supply of non-perishable foodstuff. A large cooler filled with ice kept what few perishable items cold in a corner.

Ben walked into the center room, pulled open the cooler and retrieved a can of Budweiser Beer. There were only ten cans left. He popped the top and dropped into an oversized stuffed chair that had seen a better day. It was tattered and stained over years of use and neglect. He guzzled the beer down, keeping quiet. Preston placed his rifle on the center table, then retrieved a cleaning kit and rag. He diligently began to clean the bolt and barrel of his Remington bolt action rifle. It was the way, their father taught them; always clean your weapons after you use them.

“Hey Ben!” Preston called over his shoulder. “Finish that beer and clean your pistol.” The younger brother appeared to handle the deaths easier than his 33-year old brother.

Ben glanced at Preston’s back. The 30-year old ran a bore patch through the rifle while closely eye balling the parts. He knew his brother was right. But didn’t he feel the least bit of remorse for what they just did? They had never killed anyone before. Ben was surprised at how well Preston took this. Ben stood up, sucked down the last of the can and tossed it toward the galvanized trash can near the sink. “I’ll get to it later. I need to go take a walk.”

Preston looked up at Ben as he headed for the door. He said nothing, but could tell he wasn’t handling their murders well. He made a mental note to chat with him later about it. But for now, let the man think it over on his own. Preston admitted it was a tragic thing to take a man’s life, but he was able to manage the morality by comparing it to killing deer. Doing the deed from 300 yards did make it easier for him. The distance allowed him to pull the trigger without seeing the man’s eyes or hear his dying sounds.
@Apollosarcher Dasaen could be a possible sparring partner for Mokra Tem.

I should have a post up today.
Here's a book I am interested in reading...Hue 1968. This is an interview with Mark Bowden, author of the novel. He also wrote Black Hawk Down.
The miltary/survival stuff isn't really my forte but I imagine the cellar is a good idea. The more ramshackle it looks the better off they are.

This makes sense, although, many hunters shop at Army/Navy surplus stores in the area. More than likely, they go for the older woodland camouflage than the more recent ACU stuff.
@Pundii I just read your bio. Very well done.
As a side note, I've split the 'Characters' tab into two sections. 'The Crew', where as expected I'll paste in the sheets of our cast, and 'NPCs' where I will post some basic information on the wide variety of characters our crew will inevitably encounter. The 'NPC' section should for all intents and purposes be taken as generally known, IC, information to our cast of characters. Consider it an easy point to refresh your memory of any characters we encounter along the way without having to go to the log contained in the 'Act One' hider!

I truly hope you allow us to post our own Sheets in the Characters tab. I like to update mine as events change in character. I also add in a section on how my character perceives the other characters in the RP; as long as they are known to him. You can always link them to your "split" OP in the Characters tab. I ran into a moderator who asked the authors not to post our own CS.
