If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

I drink coffee black.

Today I was called into the High School to be a gym teacher. I readily put on T-shirt, shorts, sweats and sweatshirt. When I arrived, the secretary said, "I know you were called to be a gym teacher, but I need you to be a science teacher today." Bonus! It is better to come prepared for gym and do science then come prepared for science and end up as the gym teacher.
I am perhaps one of the few players of Dungeons and Dragons who is more partial to the psionics subsystem and its associated rules than traditional Vancian spellcasting, particularly that of its arcane spellcasting incarnation.

I hate bacon.

Let's just agree to disagree.
I found this on a veteran's website I frequent. I find it quite humorous. The individual in the middle might offend a few.

In the field with my bros!

It would not be racist. Both characters are warriors. Who cares if they both have dark colored flesh.

Tonight on the way home from Krav Maga class, I was thinking that Kato might not recognize Malik with his helmet on. Then I remembered being on a reconnaissance patrol up in Canada about 30 years ago. We had about 5% illumination after the hours of darkness; moon light with overcast skies. I knew my platoon sergeant was kneeling next to me because of the smell of his breath. He was a smoker and it was horrendous. So, Malik's would be the only shape he would not recognize. There is always something about people you work with all the time that renders recognition. Even in MOPP-4 I could still recognize friends.
Kato Okoye

Every ship in the galaxy had a weight room. It was one of the general norms for ships that carried stormtroopers or other infantry type formations aboard. The Generals and Colonels desired their troopers to be a solid mass of muscle. Maintaining that strength required a plethora of heavy weights being raised and lowered repeatedly several times a day. Today, was leg, back and shoulder day for Trooper Okoye. He had been physically fit since his days working his father’s farm and playing sports on Haruun Kal, but now, aboard ship, his duties required him to stay physically and mentally sharp.

The Platoon Leader, Lieutenant Quee and his Squad leader, Sergeant Vytuia trained the members of first squad as well as the rest of first platoon on various collective tasks including assault, defense, moving as a member of a rifle squad, react to ambush, react to contact and several other mission specific tasks.

After safely lowering the stack of weights, Kato stood up from the lat pulldown machine, reaching for his towel. He wiped the sweat off himself and the machine, then grabbed for his water bottle. He drank a long tug on the aluminum bottle and headed to the head. Aboard ship, it was called the head and on garrison assignments, the latrine.

After the workout, he took a quick shower and dressed in his duty uniform. He secured each piece of armor insuring it was meticulously white in appearance. His armor would be the whitest most brilliant armor in formation. Just as he was attaching his helmet to his head he heard the clicks and saw the lights flashing indicating a message was forthcoming. It may have been held up in a queue for a bit but was available for him to listen to now. He recognized his squad leader’s voice utter, “alright troopers, I need you each ready and willing, then assembled in the hangar, we have a mission.”

A sense of urgency lit a fire under Trooper Okoye. He rushed to the arms room to pick up his T-21 light repeating blaster, SE-14r light repeating blaster, four Thermal detonators and an ammo bandoleer containing additional energy cells for his LRB. He pulled the heavy weapon, which wasn’t exactly light over his left shoulder so it hung under his right arm. He stowed the bandoleer under the LRB and the thermal detonators in a butt pack. His pistol had a tactical holster on his right thigh. He then made his way to the hangar.

Upon arriving he could see the four platoons forming up. His First platoon, with Lieutenant Quee standing in front were slowly gathering together. There were just over two hundred soldiers in the company with roughly fifty soldiers in each of the four platoons. Each platoon numbered five squads with eight to ten men per squad. First Squad had eight soldiers after losing troopers in their previous operation. As he approached the platoon formation he recognized Sergeant Vytuia giving a quick bow of his head as he uttered a curt greeting, “Sergeant.” He then stood next to Callus Orson, “Hey Docter Fix It! What kind of mess are we getting into this time?” He spoke quietly so as not to draw too much attention to himself. Then looked at the other member of First squad who had arrived. “Hi! I am Kato. What’s your name?” He was addressing Malik Skaya who apparently, he was meeting for the first time. “You must be one of the new replacements?”
I have finally completed Kato's perceptions of the squad and will begin work on my opening post.

Be warned, as you're all member of the same squad this RP is going to be interaction heavy.
I wanted to post some sort of relationship information about my character and the others due to this statement right here. These guys know one another and are probably very tight. They will die for one another. The only character who may not fit in right away is @Superboy's character, Malik Skaya (KY-9914) simply because he is the FNG to the squad. but since he is the squad medic, trust will be assumed unless he does something to betray that trust. Everyone's life is in Doc's hands.
i euh may have fallen asleep during history class and not get caught :p

I do that too occasionally, and I'm the teacher. LOL
@HaleyTheRandom are you ok? Do you require an intervention?

I have a copy of almost every Role Play I have been in, in the past seven years or more.
Barbarossa

Darin had fallen in with a group headed to Barak Varr. They climbed the road, making their way around the rocks to enter the hold. It was the same architecture he had grown accustomed to in every other Dawi city; one complacency denied him appreciation. It was Dawi, something he had grown accustomed to throughout his life; familiar and bland. He needed excitement in his life. Everything around him was bland.

Upon entering the hold, the group split up with Darin heading to seek out Malgrim Copperbeard. It had been a few years since he’d stepped foot in the Dwarven stronghold, but he remembered the way. He made his way through the vast cavern within Barak Varr, remarking the merchants and store fronts. They were fascinating. He heard the familiar din of hammers working at the forge, accompanied by the usual hiss of hot steel being cooled in water. Eventually, Darin found other Dawi preceded him to the the merchant thane, propped upon a throne with his reddish blonde beard. A beard he admired giving off a copper colored hue.

Upon inspection of the other adventurers who arrived ahead of him, Darin felt self-conscious about his own attire. The others were more immaculate in appearance. Their armor was beautiful, well maintained and brilliantly adorned. Darin’s was spotted with mud. His feet were covered in dust from the road. Places remained in disrepair from an attack along the road. But he was here to fulfill his quest to the Slayers of Karak Kadrin.

When it was Darin’s turn to speak he stepped in front of the Thane of Barak Varr known as Copperbeard. Darin also wore red hair, but much darker than Copperbeard. It was a fiery red that would normally be wild and crazy representing his personality, but today held tightly in four braids descending down over his shoulders. His dusty and worn banded armor made of leather with iron bands and studs spoke of someone who has spent much time in the field. His banded leather and iron armor covered his chest, legs, shins and arms. Even covered in armor, the sinews of his overworked body were rippled and evident. He wore a steel helm adorned with horns, he removed before stepping in front of the Thane of Barak Varr. Upon his back was strapped the two-and-a-half-foot battle axe, yet to be named. It had been blooded but remained nameless for the time being. Strapped to his belt were a hand axe and dagger. Around his neck he wore a necklace in honor of Grungni and a clasp pinned to his cloak in honor of Grungni’s brother, Grimnir.

Darin bowed when he stopped in front of the Thane, “I am known as Barbarossa of Clan Holzheim of Karak Kadrin, me lord. I am also known as Darin Torblad, son of Doldrun, son of Londrec, son of Fodrunn, son of Thurrik currently setting on the mining council of elders at Karak Kadrin. I have made a personal vow to the Slayers. This quest to the lost hold of Ekrund is me personal quest before taking th’ next step and swearing me pilgrimage to the Shrine of Grimnir. Consider meeself an apprentice Slayer, me lord.”
