Current No point posting your writing online if you don't care about praise.

Is the rioting and BLM brought up yet?

Honestly, I don't get the grief given to SAO when there's stuff like Mushoku Tensei where the MC actively lusts for underaged girls. And it's the most popular isekai in Japan.

Also, it's kinda annoying going back and forth writing short replies since I got other stuff to do and that just interrupts my rythm.

Kanako, you smell nice.

Kanako's heart skipped a beat once she heard those words.

She had to pause and rethink whether or not she had heard him right. But she perfectly knew what she heard was true, and now she could feel her face reddening as well. Jideh being this close to her certainly didn't help.

"I think the fountain's up ahead. See where the trees thin out?" the boy suddenly said. She glanced at him and saw how he was blushing as well. Perhaps he had realized how embarrassing what he had just said.

"Y-yeah, l-let's go!" Kanako quickly replied, wanting to change the subject just as badly as him.

In the end however, they arrived too late, as the Headmaster had ended the night run before they could get there, signalled by the fog clearing up and the seniors coming out from the trees to show themselves to their juniors.

Kanako didn't meet with the seniors that she had fought before however. Instead, she went straight back to her room, wanting to rest and forget that she had spent hours of her time on something so useless. She could feel her entire body aching. And once she got there, once again, she threw her entire body to her bed, only taking off her shoes. She slept soundly wearing her full uniform.

The next day, she woke up almost at noon.

The first thing she noticed was the notice under her door. So the classes would start after lunch. Perfect. She had an hour to clean up before heading to lunch.

At lunch, she was fully refreshed. After taking a nice and long bath, she felt like she could do anything. She felt really energized and she ate a lot on lunch, more than her usual portion.

After that, she immediately went to the appointed wind elementalist training grounds. Just like yesterday, she had to climb so many stairs to get to the rooftops.

Halfway there however, she realized that her outfit wasn't exactly the optimal one for her training. She wore a similar school uniform skirt from yesterday, and it was as short, if not a little bit shorter.

She just hoped that no perverts would try to peek at her underwear when she was manipulating her winds, because she was still not good enough to keep her skirt from rising up.

Lydia Evangeline

Lydia's strolls throughout the city abruptly ended when rain poured from above.

The rain, in a sense, woke her up from her stupor. Only now she realized how much time had passed.

I really should've returned by now... she thought to herself.

And now, she was stuck waiting for the rain to stop before she could go home. And who knew how long that could take? She could be forced to stand here in front of a closed shop in the middle of the city all night.

She didn't think she would be able to handle that.

But if she rushed home through the rain, her camera would be the one to suffer. It was not waterproof at all.

In the end, she settled for a compromise. If the heavy rain turned into a light drizzle, she would run for it as she covered the more sensitive parts of the camera with her hands and body.

In the end, she had to stand there until the evening, where the rain finally let up somewhat. Not entirely, unfortunately.

She didn't show it in her usual calm expression, but her legs were now terribly tired. She now had to rethink her plan to go straight home. She couldn't imagine running all the way there with her current condition.

Thus, when she came by a restaurant as she ran under the rain, she immediately decided to enter it, just so she could rest her legs.

And she was pretty hungry as well, so eating here could definitely work.

Once she was inside, she realized that she had stepped into an oriental-themed restaurant. She rarely, if ever, ate in places like this so it somewhat made her nervous. But she decided to order anyways. It would be shameful to just sit without ordering anything.

"Excuse me, Miss, I think I'll have some steak," she said to the nearby waitress after she sat down in a corner table. She was lucky that this restaurant also sold some western dishes.

Selena

"Then we will be in your care, Sir Lessig!" Selena replied cheerfully once the man gave them his permission to ride on his carriage. It wasn't because she was tired that she was glad to have a carriage to ride on, since she now had superhuman strength and endurance after all, but it was because it's a nice change of pace. She always wanted to hitch a ride on a carriage just like a real adventurer would.

After that was settled, Selena became the first to climb the carriage on the back. Like the man had said, there was indeed plenty of room in the back, though there were no seats so they had to sit on the floor of the wagon. Selena took the spot nearest to the exit, just so she could feel the breezes.

So we're heading to Arcos, huh? It should be a while until we arrive at Wolf's Run. I could take a little nap now.

And so she did eventually, sleeping in a sitting position as the breezes slowly but surely carried her to dreamland. Unfortunately for her however, without her knowing, she lifted her legs and brought it closer to her chest. And with her skirt's hem being above her knee, she ended up displaying her pink panties to whomever was sitting opposite of her.

Indeed. This habit came from her former self in the real world. She just couldn't stop moving around while sleeping.

Suwako Makiyoshi

"She dodged it," was Suwako's short reply on her attack failing to hit its target. She couldn't see it directly with her eyes but she could sense it from the root she was controlling. She thought she would catch her by surprise to compensate with the less than ideal control of her root, but it seemed to not have worked that well. It did distract her though so Alicia's attack (she assumed it was hers since it was a bunch of arrows made of light) could land.

But now, the monster girl would know that another new girl was targeting her, and there would always be a chance for her to retaliate back.

And indeed she did.

A mortar made out of darkness suddenly appeared in the skies above her. Quickly, she ran away from her hiding spot. She dodged the mortar easily enough, but after it exploded, it unexpectedly covered the entire area in a dome of darkness. Before Suwako could do anything, she was already caught inside of it.

And she immediately felt the effect.

"Ugh!" Suwako groaned. The sudden loss of strength made her turn into a kneeling pose as she tried to hold herself together. She could feel it, the mana going out of her body.

This was a curse. A curse designed to weaken a magic-oriented magical girl.

She had fell for it. Her counterattack had definitely succeeded.

Now she was in precarious spot. She had to retreat as she was extremely vulnerable at this state.

And so she ran towards the edge of the dome, making sure to stay away from the open sky as much as she could. She must not be ambushed by another magical girl now as she wouldn't be able to cast her spells at all.

@BrokenPromise
How long does the dome last and does the curse still work outside of the dome?
@BrokenPromise
Question, can you block the mortar's effect by covering yourself up with something before the darkness reaches you?
Selena

"Aaaaahhh... The pleasant smell of the forest... This kind of thing is really rare on the real world and here we can enjoy it in abundance..."
The three were walking down the mountain trail; Selena being in the lead. She didn't really care where her feet took her, as long as it was towards their general destination. Even when there was a fork, with a faded sign that couldn't tell anything, she just merrily chose one road over the other, just by her whim. No sense in worrying about it. Getting lost for a little would only mean that they got to enjoy this natural beauty more.

However, the serenity they enjoyed was soon interrupted when a caravan approached them from behind. Serena turned to look at it, waving cheerfully at the driver.

"Hello! Nice morning, isn't it?"

Serena could tell that the man was anxious, especially after he asked whether or not they came from the guild.

"Yes, we are! We're now going back after finishing a quest actually!"

A white lie. There was no way he would accept the truth.
"Hmm?" Illia paused her steps once she heard someone calling to her. She turned around to see a blue-skinned woman calling to her. Her skin color reminded her of a dark elf, but the blue was certainly different. Not to mention her red hair who looked oddly thick.

"Oh, hello there. Apologies. I didn't see you there," she said to her with a smile. "Your name is... Mable, right? I'm Illia. Illia Anastasia," she introduced herself.

They then was joined with a woman with a lower body of a spider. Now this kind of demi-human she recognized. An arachne.

Mable's attention now seemed to have turned 100% to the arachne as she gushed about how she looked so cool.

And then another one arrived, this time a foxgirl. This one Mable dubbed as "cute". Well, she herself knew some people back home with that kind of taste.

"Yes, we're going into the cave. Or at least, I am," she answered her question. "I have to investigate the source of the magic that had trapped us all here."
