The king of Ancent sat on his throne, his expression looking unusually serious. However, this expression was the one he always wore these days, ever since the capital had been transported into this strange new world. There was no time to be carefree like the old days.

However, when Sonia entered, his expression quickly brightened as he greeted her warmly.

"Ah, Sonia, I've been waiting for you," he said to her. "So, how about the progress of our new farmlands?"

"It's been going well, Your Majesty!" she said with a cheerful smile. "Thanks to the fertility of the surrounding area, we have no problem at all in starting up the farms! And we actually are now about to have our first harvest!"

"Very good! So your fertilizer and seeds really proved effective! We will indeed need all the food we could have as our warehouses are emptying, not to mention the prices rising."

"Yep! Now we could harvest those farms once a month! Our food problems should disappear shortly!"

The conversation between the two had always been this casual. Sonia didn't even kneel down like it was customary for anyone who met with kings in other lands. The king was never big in the whole formality thing. He knew that his subjects respected and loved him and that was enough for him.

"So, moving on to my next question. I hear you wish to depart to the outside world after this whole farm thing had been settled?"

"Yes, Your Majesty! I intend to go look for materials for my synthesis! I've starting to run out, you see!"

"Hmm, you do know that the outside world is terribly dangerous, right, especially when we barely know anything about it?"

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that, Your Majesty! I don't intend to go that far from the capital! And besides, the Guild had scouted the lands all around us and they didn't find anything particularly dangerous!"

"Except for the sightings of a couple of winged humans. Or angels, if you prefer to call them that."

Their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of another person in the throne room. It was Anastasia, dressed in her usual attire and carrying her trusty gun with her over her back.

"Ah, Anastasia! You've returned!" Sonia said brightly to the newly arriving woman.

"I've seen some of them myself near the mountains to our south. We haven't made contact with them yet however. And I'm not sure if we should, truth be told."

"...Angels, hmm?" the king said, looking deep in thought. "Very well. I order surveillance in that area. Simply watch them from afar and try not to engage with them. And if we do, make sure to state that we come in peace."

"Got it. Will pass that over to the folks at the guild," Anastasia replied with a grin. "So..." She then turned to Sonia. "Shall we go today? I'm pretty free today so I thought I'll accompany you."

"That would be great! It's been a while since we've traveled together!" Sonia replied.

"Oh, don't worry king, we'll stay away from those mountains!" She turned back to the king.

And so the two left the throne room, with the king contemplating on what he, and their kingdom, should do next. Sonia had talked about how this "node" thing, the one sitting in the outskirts of the capital, were producing extremely valuable and rare materials for her alchemy. She also postulated that there might be more out there. Should they strive to get more of them, just so Sonia's alchemy could get even better? Their kingdom only survived this long thanks to her alchemy. And thinking about it, ever since she made breakthroughs after breakthroughs in developing the kingdom, they had become quite dependent on her power. No other alchemists could replace her skills.

Well, he'll think about that later on, when they actually discovered another node. For now, he should just focus in establishing their presence in this new world.

Alignment: Neutral Good

Starting Situation: Avoidance. They are situated outside the major conflict and the king has decided to stay out of it as best as they can.
Background:
Before the shift happened, the kingdom went on its business as usual, another day in the business of answering the citizen's needs and developing the kingdom's infrastructure. Even though the kingdom had been peaceful for such a long time that people couldn't remember when the last war happened, the knights still trained as they still had to protect the kingdom from any possible monster invasion.

When the shift happened however, all hell broke loose. People started to panic but right away, the knights' apt response to the situation quickly calmed them down. And now, with the capital being cut off from the rest of the kingdom, a real threat of starvation and other kinds of resource deprivation had appeared. So the first month was mostly spend developing the areas around the capital to act as farms. Thanks to the miraculous power of alchemy, it was made possible.

Of course, the kingdom also sent scouts to look around the new land they had been transported with. With their help, the kingdom found the so-called "node", dubbed by Sonia, since it produces extremely rare ingredients that are absolutely necessary for high level alchemy like creating the homonculi. She postulates that there are other nodes like this in this world and if she can gain access to enough of them, she will be able to synthesize the tool necessary to transport the capital back to their original world. She just has to create a beefed-up version of the warp gate where it has enough range and strength to transport the entire capital through the border between worlds. If they could be brought here, then there must be a way to go back.

Officers:
1. King Ancen the Fourth = A middle-aged man with a gentle heart that truly cares for his subjects. He arranges and guides the development of the country, advising Sofia on what she has to do.
2. Anastasia

She holds the title of the "strongest adventurer", and she can certainly back up that claim. Her skill with her gun is unmatched, as she can perform as both a sniper and a close range combatant with it.
3. Boris
The leader of the Ancen Knights. This man is pretty much the strongest swordsman out there. His leadership capability is also not to be underestimated as he was the one who kept the city under order right away when it was first transported.
4. Gunther
The best blacksmith that the kingdom has. He is the one who forges the steel and metal Sonya provided into weapons and armor. And since some people prefer light armor made out of fabric, he's unexpectedly good at sewing also. He has some homonculus under his command to provide him with the materials he needs.
5. Tanya
The supply master of the kingdom. She distributes the items needed for adventurers and knights on duty, particularly the ones made by Sonya as they are quite limited in amount. She also employs some homonculus under her to synthesize the items that she needs.

Order of Battle:

This is the type of unit typically available for each phase of Mass Combat. Except in special circumstances, battles will be resolved over the course of three phases; Skirmish, Battle, and Climax. You can not deploy units later than your current phase but can freely deploy units from passed phases. This is the only structure attached to Mass Combat. Remember that this is just a framework to make battles more interesting. Mass Combat can end at any phase, even Skirmish if someone is defeated or retreats. Include Magick Users, Infantry, Artillery, Monsters, Vehicles, all that good stuff.

Skirmish:
This phase is usually for adventurers as they are more used in travelling in uncharted lands and retreating when they realize they're outmached. Your typical adventurers consist of small groups of frontline fighters (swordsman), backline fighters (archers), and some support in healers. Seeing how they don't have magic, healers will usually use pre-made potions and the like.

Anastasia may join in as she can fulfill the role of a scout and sniper well.

Battle:
This phase is where the knights would join in. They are more suited in direct combat, with their heavy swordsmen and lancers. Their support consists of alchemists that can synthesize medicines and use bombs, lightning rods, poison smog, and other attack items. Boris will be the one leading their charge.

Of course, the adventurers would join in too. Anastasia will switch into her combat mode where she will take the front line. Anastasia prefers fighting head on. The adventurers would still take the role of ambushers however.

Climax:
Here, everything the kingdom has would be unleashed. Homonculi would join the fight as they will utilize the strongest items they have. Sonia would not hesitate to utilitize things like Tera Bomb to wipe out entire forces by herself.

Her plan was to leave the scene and retreat with the wounded Penny in tow.

But of course, just like her other plans today, it immediately got derailed, when the enraged monster girl fired off her flames towards her and her vine. She couldn't do anything when her first flame pretty much cut her vine that carried Penny, as the other flames were all aimed towards her. She prepared herself to defend, intending to summon a wall of wood to block the flames, but before she could do that, she was dragged away by another tree root not under her control.

Another magical girl with the capability to manipulate wood? So she must be the unknown presence I detected earlier.

She had no time to think about it much as they were still being assaulted by Thalia's flames. She had to hide herself in the debris the new magical girl had brought with her.

And then, she watched the new girl walking right towards the enraged beast. That fool, she thought. It seemed she intended to calm the beast down.

And Penny herself seemed to have the same idea as well.

Suwako sighed. "I suppose it couldn't be helped..." she said to herself.

For now, she would stay on standby, readying her vines to pull the two girls away from Thalia in case she decided to attack once more.

Objectives:
Her long-term goal is to find a way to transport her people back to their homeworld. But for now, they had to survive in this alien world first and to do that, she had to gather as much materials as she could with her alchemy. This new world had a lot of new materials she never encountered before and with that, perhaps she could produce new items that would help their survival greatly.

Of course, like any great alchemists, she also has a natural desire to learn more about the new world and the materials available. She doesn't do alchemy just to help others. She also does it to fulfill her own natural curiosity.

Temperament: Not personality, as you should define that in the actual RP. This is just how they typically interact with others.

Affiliation: She will interact kindly and politely to anyone she meets.

Alignment: Neutral Good

Background:
Before she and the rest of the capital were transported to this world, they were on the brink of the so-called "alchemical revolution". warp gates were set up that could take you from the capital to the frontier villages. The development of the land was helped greatly with the creation of self-moving hoes. Not to mention the miraculous seeds and fertilizers that could allow barren terrains to be used as farmlands.

However, her ultimate creation was the creation of artificial life, homonculus, as alchemists called them. They looked just like a human being, except for their elven-like sharp ears. She hadn't created many of them, as they were terribly difficult to make, but the ones she made helped the kingdom in their development by synthesizing items via alchemy. They couldn't help with researching the creation of new items however. They could only imitate her own synthesis process. Basically, they were used to help mass-producing alchemical items. Their personality was that of devoted servants. Originally, they seemed to be emotionless but with prolonged human contact, they started to show emotions of their own.

And then, one day, a great light appeared in the sky, just when Sonia was in the middle of her synthesis. Before she even realized it, the entire capital had been transported here to this world.

Skills:
Her skill and talent in understanding alchemy are beyond any other alchemists. It's not wrong when some people call her a genius. This also makes her really good as cooking as well, though she cooks using alchemy instead of the normal way cooks do, obviously.

Abilities:
Alchemy is a special talent that only few people have. Without it, you wouldn't be able to create even the simplest potions. The ingredients would simply refuse to mix properly. That is why there aren't a horde of alchemists out there, since teaching alchemy to someone with no talent in it is absolutely useless.

Equipment:
1. The Staff of Fate
This staff carries a staggering amount of enchanments, to the point that it can hurt a dragon through its tough scales even if it is swung with minimal force. It can also create powerful shockwaves with its swings. It is also enhanced with the four elements. Its wielder could switch between enhancements or even use all four of them in the same time. And last but not least, every time you get hit with it, you will receive a curse that will weaken you. The curse only compounds the more she hits you with her staff.

2. The Alchemist's Dress
The outfit she wears might look flimsy and exposing, but it grants her protection far beyond that of your ordinary armor. It makes her skin as tough as that of a dragon.

3. The Philosopher's Stone
This stone, which she hangs above her breasts, emits a barrier that protects her from all sorts of damage. It also wards off illness and curses.

4. Boots of Hermes
These boots grant her extraordinary speed and agility. Once she made these boots, she never bothered to take the carriage anymore.

5. Elixir
This potion is the ultimate healing potion, able to heal everyone in a certain radius around it if sprinkled to the air. Its healing is so strong that it can regenerate lost tissue and even organs near instantly. It can even revive the dead back to a perfect living condition, though it has its limitations, mainly the condition of the body and how long the person has died.

6. Tera Bomb
This is the most powerful bomb she ever makes so far. The curious thing is how she can actually control for how big the explosion would be before throwing the bomb. When the explosion is concentrated in a small space, she managed to take down a dragon with just one bomb.

Of course, these are not everything she had in her disposal. But these items are the most powerful and the most used items that she will always carry with her everytime she goes out to search for materials in the monster-infested wilderness.
