And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

His companions seemed to have reached an agreement with the outsider. Good. Ceraun had an impeccable façade as per usual. The only thing that worried Creft about this was that he now needed to account for one extra traveller among them. And that would mean the General would need to file out the paperwork unless Ceraun, Chayyliel or Drekavac was suddenly hit by inspiration to get them their required entry documents. Or alternatively they would not lift off with the stranger still on board. He'd have to check what they had in mind for him in the end.

But for now worrying about any of that was too early as they had finally reached the mansion of the three leaders of this planet. It was the fastest way to reach the supreme leader of the UFP, the president as they called them if Creft's memory served. He had heard that about three times, so there was little chance that he'd misremember at this point. In the mansion, he was quick to state the return of his entourage to the official that rushed to greet them and given they had already been here, most of them were allowed in without a second thought. Gavin wasn't quite as lucky. "If either of you have the patience, could you explain the situation to these people? I'll need to see if our friend has made any progress", Creft told the others and continued on with the bodyguards.

He was not surprised to find Drekavac pacing around the room impatiently, them having grown bored of waiting for the others even with their singular underling as their company. Creft nodded, sharing the annoyance at the situation. "I see no progress has been made thus far. I am not surprised. These people seem horribly inefficient. Do they even realise how much a space wide travel ban is going to hurt them?" He didn't say much more, but sat down and began waiting once again. The officials would eventually have to meet with them.

Will have the opportunity to post tomorrow.
Out on the streets of Wesville, Grug the Oracle continued his daily routine without much care in the world. Sure, travel between greater realms had just been banned, but he was not one to really bother himself with the concept of travelling. Certainly enough, the Oracle of Gruumsian had been on the road once in his life and while that had been the very trip that brought his powers as an Oracle to his knowledge, he would rather avoid heading out there again. He stopped for a moment and leaned his cane against his side as he used his good hand to adjust his hood. The sun was woefully bright to the man who usually preferred the shade of his wagon and he couldn't even use his shrivelled arm for protection.

His way eventually led him to the nearest well, where he as per usual employed the aid of anyone who happened to be willing to help. This time it happened to be some young man of unknown status, but judging by the fact he was not wearing shoes, yet did not appear to be too poor, Grug deduced he might well be the cobbler's son. They helped him raise water out of the well and as they saw the orc couldn't really carry it either, they spontaneously offered to help him with it further. A good lad, this one.

Back at Grug's wagon, he instructed the boy to leave the bucket next to the wheel and wait a second while he climbed into the wagon for a moment. Here in the relative darkness the naturally nocturnal orc's eyes could see much better and it did not take him too long to fetch a deck of cards half the size of what it had been before this moment. He shuffled them all over his little desk before picking one up and pocketing it into his palm without looking at it. As he entered the glaring outside again, he was pleasantly surprised to see the boy had not ran away while he had been fetching his gift. Yet even if he had, Grug would not have blamed him. Not all were comfortable around the Oracle.

He flipped the card around in his hand, revealing the four of wands, reversed. "Here, this is what I have for you. While I would not put too much thought into it, they say this card, as it is in my hand right now, symbolises transition", he explained, deliberately leaving the part of 'breakdown in communication' out of his explanation. "Now I wouldn't know where you would be going, perhaps you are just getting older? Hard to tell with you other folk... can't blame a half-blind orc about it now, though, can you? Thank you for your help again." With that, he properly handed the card over and waved goodbye to the boy who headed back towards whence they had come from. Grug watched after them for a moment before turning back around, flipping the sign that had said "Closed" back to "Open" and retreated back into his little home with the bucket of water.
The ship touched down on the sea that had just a moment ago been in the sky. As soon as the fine vessel was far enough from the waterspout as to not be crushed by the water once it was left to its own devices, the Beholder known as Dyn'yer'zhead finally released his concentration and the spout returned to the form it had been in before his tampering. He smiled, but did not speak. While he would never admit it out loud, that had been just a little bit on the exhausting side.

The appearance of the now suddenly red Tabaxi snapped him out of it, and Dyn was quickly back to his usual self. "But not surprised, I reckon? We've been travelling together for a while Nemiea", he replied to her compliment, as dismissive as ever. Beneath his exterior, he was pleased to receive praise for his efforts though. What would a Beholder be if not a giant balloon of ego with an exterior full of eyes?

Dyn glanced at the theullai out of the corners of a few of his eyes, an uneasy expression appearing on his alien features. "I don't like this one bit. Who is to say it won't attack us now?" he murmured, but kept it mostly to himself. Things had gone well enough until now, even if he did get a little bit blinded by his own might as he had realised how they could reach this realm. It was likely not an ambush. The wolf would have attacked them on the deck when their guards were down if it had wanted to harm them. Or perhaps it had wanted all these serpents to aid it so it wouldn't risk dying to a fluke attack when out there alone? Dyn ground his teeth together, unsure whether to remain pleased or raise his guard again.

I would like to see some activity from you people, especially from Orchid or Kyra since they have not really participated for a while.
@HekazuIf you'd like. But I more or less moved on from Expanding Horizons. That is to say I don't post here anymore.

Very well. That would mean there would be no idea to appear there, so I'll figure out something else. Thanks for the info!

Would you mind Grug stumbling into the establishment Bogart is currently in?
Theodore didn't take long to notice the situation on the streets. While usually one of the fastest on the draw, this time he dropped his mask on the ground accidentally and wasted a precious half-second to get it back, noticing everybody else had already had a moment to move forward. Darn. It felt bad to be the last, but at least the shadows were even slower. The mask was snapped onto the side of his bolt case with routine and another bolt was drawn and prepared as he rushed for cover. The others had chosen much more open locations. Good for the shock value for sure, but Theodore preferred to rely on his tactics.

While others used their time to taunt the shadows and otherwise get themselves further to position, Cesar giving him a few words of instruction and motivation as he dashed by. Theodore smiled. To wait for a good shot? He had one from right here. Before committing to his attack, he gauged his enemy from afar, the divines themselves granting him knowledge a lesser hunter could never hope to achieve with such a brief look. To him, it was clear as day that these enemies were resistant to the darkness they were built of, giving them resistance against necrotic forces in magic. In other ways, they were much like common bandits, unremarkable.

"Companions, they don't seem to have any weakness to the radiance our hearts carry. Let us put the fear of Light into them, since they do not understand it in their nature which only fortifies them against the darkness they have built themselves of!" Having shouted those words into the air, he readied his crossbow and prepared to act on his own words. "Steadyyy...", he muttered as he took careful aim. Happy with what he had before him, he let the bolt loose, the projectile happily delivering death to its target. And this bolt struck true, as in a mere second after impact the Shadow vanished from this realm. "The bigger they are, the easier they fall", Theodore said with a smirk, satisfied at his strong start.

The situation is looking pretty grim, I won't lie.
