Current Just ran a stale yellow. Nobody on this website is doing it like me, sticking it to the man like me, blazing a trail against tyranny like me. the only thing revolutionary about you is your rhetoric

Takeru Segawa is the type of man they made myths out of. Intensely privileged to be able to say I watched him burn so bright as he did before going out with a win. I’ll miss you, hero.

a frayed thread on the colorful tapestry of our existence, begging to be yanked until the whole thing unravels, a suggestive, inviting golden glow around the idea of leaking my buddy's DMs to his wife

Brewing Storm

He should have known.

"Hindsight is 20/20", which you would now recognize as being a common phrase thrown around when talking about this young man's life, applied in an all-too worrisome manner for the latest turn of events.

Of course—
There had to be a reason Priscilla dared to leave the room in the first place after holing up like she did.

They hadn't gone in with this knowledge, and with the sudden quiet after the quick burst of combat, had been lead to believe that the source of the screams they had heard was Priscilla herself.

On the frenetic level that one's mind ran on in an S-Rank mission as a very green freshman, this seemed to be the logical conclusion. They heard screaming, heard the crash from the barrel, saw Priscilla, killed the Grimm that had been mauling her, and then heard nor seen any more, preoccupied by their injured classmate or otherwise.

Even so, it was only after the Faunus freed herself from her silent almost-tomb that the concept he should have immediately considered clicked into place:

Priscilla would leave the safe room only if she had a very good reason to.

A reason like rescuing another person trapped here.

Before he could even debate whether to rise and offer her a steadying hand or continue preliminary care on Priscilla, the entire building shuddered as something very big and heavy landed upon the roof.

"What was—"

His question was pre-emptively answered by a roar loud enough to clearly be heard down in the basement, carried through the building by raw energy.

"...We need to get these people out right now."

As always, Luke proved his mastery of stating the obvious.

He shot to his feet, quickly bounding over to the bespectacled girl and steadying her with a hand, guiding her away from the spilt chemicals.

"Easy..."

He grimaced as he brought her over to his previous spot, well away from any noxious fumes. As it happened, however, it was also close to a now half-attended at best Priscilla.

This was bad. His attention was splitting, to the chagrin of everyone involved. Why couldn't he have learned to properly multitask?

Wait, we have another brain in the room to work with.

He tilted his head over to his leader.

"Jack, how are we going to make this happen?"

A building with something big and nasty walking around, still infested by Grimm, and they had twelve survivors to navigate through it safely as well as a wounded classmate whose only hope for medical attention was far away.

There was the option to have someone run over and grab the medical supplies, but that'd be speeding headfirst into a room full of Grimm alone.

If they went with a pair, that left only one person to either guide 12 people out on their lonesome, or stay behind and bunker down while every footstep from above shook the building.

If everyone left, then that meant they'd lost their minds.

There has to be a better way than this. If we just had one more person...

If we could just get Priscilla well enough to move now!

His jaw clenched. With the winds batting the trio in the face instead of catching their sails, to this degree, anyone would have.

There had to be a way.
