I'm having way too much fun with my Legend of Zelda Encylopedia. This is the game that got me into roleplaying so have a lot invested in it's lore and stories. Too bad can't have all the games too.

The Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game Yggdrasil is coming to an end. As the game was reaching its final hours players abandoned its servers in droves. The fantastical world was finally coming to an end for its players but a few players decided to stay for its final moments. One such player was Momonga of Ainz Ooal Gown who, instead of being booted out when the servers shut down, instead found himself inhabiting his avatar, transported along with his entire guild and NPCs to a strange fantasy world.
Momonga was not the only player affected however. A small group of players who had decided to stay till the end, joined an ending celebration guild called Apocalypse Now. This small guild created for the game’s end partied the night away while they waited for the end to come. When the end finally came though, it turned out that while the game did indeed end, a new life had begun for the players.
The small guild was transported into a mountain range just north of the Dragonic Kingdom. Confused, desperate, curious, and all sorts of other emotions swept over the transformed players as they quickly came to realize that the fantasy world was now real. Needed to figure out exactly what had happened, the players start to explore the world around them and learn how to live their new lives in their new bodies.
Rules
2 paragraph minimum per post. Role Play is Casual – Advanced type. If you have a brain freeze, a single paragraph is acceptable if rare.
Spelling and grammar should be good. The occasional mistake is fine but you should try to make your posts mistake free.
Be kind and considerate to your fellow roleplayers.
Obey your Supreme Overlord, IceHeart!
Do not powerplay, meta-game, god-mode, etc. That being said, your characters are way above the new world inhabitants so there is quite a bit you can do to them that could not be done in other fandoms.
We will be exploring parts of the world barely mentioned or not at all in the Overlord series. Contribute to the story and help develop the world around you.
When a PVP situation occurs, talk it out with your combat partner before hand to decide how the fight will play out and then write it. This will help mitigate potential arguments and make the roleplay flow much quicker.
Starting Location
Apocalypse Now is located in the mountain range north of the Dragonic Kingdom. One the New World Map it is located in the bottom right corner. Being in the mountain range the small guild will be well hidden from human eyes.
Important Locations List:
As characters explore the world, cities and important locations will be added to this list to help with world building. Important events associated with the locations will also be added from time to time.
Ruled by Draudillon Oriculus, the great-granddaughter of the Brightness Dragon Lord, the Dragonic Kingdom is human based despite its ruler’s dragon ancestry. Draudillon tends to take on the form of a young girl when dealing with people to receive favorable responses from them. The Beastman Country to the east has started an all out invasion of the kingdom and currently there is little to stop the beastmen on their rampage.
A country made up of beast-type demi-humans, they are quite strong physically especially when compared to humans. These beastmen are largely carnivorous and like to raid human civilization to use as food. As they see humans as merely food negotiations seem to be impossible for human civilizations.
Cities/Towns
In the southern foothills of the Frostfell mountains lies a small village of the Dragonic Kingdom. A very small population of around 50, other than its unique setting and interesting architecture there is little of note here. The Adventure's guild owns a half-way cabin in the town, so adventurers often travel through on their way to their missions. Whiteside
A large city in the heartland of the Dragonic Kingdom, it is governed by Countess Adeline Ghaelane. The city is most noted as a staging ground for troops and conscripts and has several outposts scattered through the area around it. It is easy to tell that a large portion of the kingdom's rather limited military budget has been put here. Thankfully for the city, a rather large branch of the adventurer's guild is present which helps ease the burden on the military.
Woodstop is a town hidden in the forest in the western foothills of the northern mountains. It is a very self-sufficient place that has been extra careful to not let the beastmen know of its location. The brothers Count Ingvar and Niklas Asgierr oversee the town. Adventurer's are often hired to keep an eye on things and of course to hunt down enemies and collect hard to get resources.
The capital of the Dragon Kingdom, this is where the reigning queen, Draudillon Oriculus lives and rules. The city boasts a robust population, has strong stone walls, and good city planning that includes bits of nature inside the city. While the city itself has yet to come under attack there is a cloud of uneasiness that has settled in on the area. People are naturally suspicious of beastmen due to the vicious attacks from the east, especially the carnivorous kind.
Still, the presence of their loli[fake] queen keeps the people's spirits up. Also as a descendant of a dragon, the people believe that if worst comes to worst, their queen will be able to save them with her magic. Even with her around though, the steady increase of refugees from the front keeps the city unsettled.

Quick rundown of race types: Human, Demi-human, or Heteromorphic. 1. Human races include elves and dwarfs and have no racial levels. This makes them able to be more versatile job wise, have the access to most kinds of equipment plus the highest quality equipment, and no overt weaknesses or strengths outside of their build path. 2. Demi-human races include most [insert here] men species like lizard men, rabbit men, etc. They have better base stats than most but equipment types can become limited. 3. Heteromorphic races include species considered very removed from humanity, even if they were originally human like skeletons. These races tend to get the strongest racial benefits but also the worst racial weaknesses as well. Because of their often unique body structures or racial attributes equipment types can be very limited and certain things like armor types nonexistent all together.
Of course things get heated while I'm busy with things. In any event this is still only the interest check people, once I can actually get around to making a good OOC thread that's when things can actually get going. Anyone still interested by that time will have to re-post their characters over there for consideration.
Needless to say there has been a lot more interested people in this then I was ever expecting. If the numbers are even close to what have shown up already I am really going to need a co-gm along with peoples' help in fashioning interesting story lines and NPCs.
I'll be working on this when I can but I am tired and I still have a few things going on that will slow me down. Sit tight and don't murder each other. Please.
So, clear this up for me... Are we all in the same guild or not? What actually is the starting prompt/condition here?
Considering all the bios that have appeared so far, I think the only way to play this is to go with the idea that everyone just joined up with a celebratory guild during the game's final moments. Most people have abandoned the game at this point, knowing it is going the way of the Dodo, so it makes sense that players with no guild mates left around might want to join up with other plays for a final hurrah.
Anyway, I'll be busy for a few days so no OOC for a while.
I was purposefully trying to stay away from the actual classes because it's just a hassle to deal with otherwise. The reason I was talking about a 'main' class, and 'sub' class was to make it easier for people to just pick what they wanted their character to be essentially identified as. I purposefully made it vague in the first place so people wouldn't be sweating over what combination of classes they wanted for their character and instead just give a general picture of who their character is. While it may not seem as true, to the series it simplifies things quite a bit and people don't need to know that much about the other characters anyway.
I want the character sheets to be more of a guideline to plan how your character will play then some big checklist. Although the Karma thing might not be such a bad thing to add. If people want to do the whole dividing the character into the different classes like in the novel sheets that's fine, but it's certainly not needed for just creating your own character.
@IceHeart I hope this is alright I couldn't go into too much specifically about Chad's avatar as the Cs is rather limited in terms of what you want where.
I tried to keep the sheet fairly limited since it is based on an MMORPG world and I don't want people to get dragged down in the details and the millions of things that often go with MMOs. I did notice I kinda forgot an important detail that I shall quickly add, your avatar's level before the big switcher-roo.

Will it be possible to play natives of the new world?
Hmm I mean you could I suppose, although you would be severely under powered when compared to the players. Its something to think about.
Well for now I can get some rough ideas going and kinda help shape up the start; however, I have a dear friend coming over the beginning of next week so I certainly won't be starting any role plays until after they're gone.
So I was thinking the guild, be it one that was just bought for the final hurrah or a more permanent one would be interesting to make as a floating one, maybe equipped with a magical transporter down to the surface. Having a high flying building appear would certainly start some interesting rumors. The other thing of course is where should the starting point be, which country should be our location of origin? No matter what location waves will be made but certainly the reception will be very different depending on the area we start in, especially depending on what type of race your avatar is.
The way I see it, first of all for character interaction sake it would be best to have everyone in the same guild so everyone is spawned in the same area. Now as for the guild itself considering we would want to give players a lot of freedom to choose the guild should not be too specialized. Maybe something along the lines of a dungeon raider guild or a city roleplay guild.
I also had the idea of it just being a random guild that was literally put together for the final day by a player that people could join for the game's last hours, so a bunch of people just transferred all their stuff and NPCs over for a final bash.
If we're talking about the literal lay of the land there is at least a map to generally go off of, but aside from that we'll just have to make up places, people ect and not worry about any new information that may pop up. If you're going by say classes, there are some interesting character sheets in the light novel which don't give much information but show a general idea of how the Yggdrasil system was suppose to work.
That said while interesting, in our character bios we won't bother with hard stats, exact levels[except maybe what level you reached in the game], and so on; maybe just a general say about where most of your stats are allocated and what class you are. As for classes themselves, you are pretty much just make it up and just say what it is your character specializes in.
Now as for the locations themselves I can at least give some information on the locations but since the novels themselves don't have much it'll be pretty basic.
Re-Estize Kingdom: Ruled by a King and Lords, pretty classic feudalism type overall. Has a Royal faction and Noble faction which keeps things interesting. A human run kingdom that relies on conscriptions for most fighting.
Baharuth Empire: Ruled by an Emperor with a quality standing army. A human civilization as well though occasionally employ non-humans, mostly in slave type positions but even that seems rather rare.
Katze Plains: Basically just a massive undead playground since a lot of battles were fought there.
Dragonic Kingdom: Human based kingdom ruled by a queen who is a descendant of a dragon lord, giving her the ability to use Wild Magic aka Soul Based magic. Currently they are being attacked by the Beastman country to the east who view them as a food source.
Slane Theocracy: A nation of human supremacists who excel at faith based magics divided among six sects. Have quite a few special operative groups for various purposes. Also one of the only known countries to have godkins, basically the descendant of a player character so they are much stronger than anyone else. Also the higher ups know about the "Advent of the Gods" event that happens every 100 years.
Holy Roble Kingdom: Human based nation, that has a great wall separating them from the Wilderness, an area full of demi-human tribes that are constantly at war.
Argland Council Alliance: A demi-human land that is controlled by a parliament and Five Dragon Councillors. Each demi-human race has their own representative in the parliament but the five dragons have the final say in anything.
Trying to keep the information as bare bones as possible so I don't have to worry about it that much. Also there is just not that information on a lot of these places to begin with.
Problem is, I really don't know about the setting for Overlord.
Very basic premise is that a player from the MMO Yggdrasil stayed in the game while it was shut down but for some reason he was essentially transferred over to another world while keeping his Avatar body and transporting his entire guild space over there. The big thing is though, all the NPCs got transferred over as well but became 'real' along with whatever backstory their creators gave them which created some interesting results. The biggest difference from the normal MMO becomes real world troupe is that Momonga [An Undead Elder Lich with the advanced class of Overlord as well as the one player transferred over] is at the level cap of 100 but most of the fantasy world is like, level 10 and below with the strongest beings getting into maybe the 60s.
Basically he and most of his NPCs are just way too high level for the world so except for some special items there is pretty much nothing that can be considered a danger to him or his NPCs.
I would never go for hard stats, besides it is technically no longer a game world even if many of the mechanics kind of slipped over with the players, not not being able to equip items not suited for your class.
So from what I gather from those who expressed interest, all want to be players and don't necessarily want to have a 'single' goal. I had originally thought maybe some people would want to try being NPCs for example so just putting that out there.
So if everyone was a player, you would have a level cap of 100, which is Momonga's level, but could be lower if you wanted. Now of interest to remember is that Momonga did not make his build PvP oriented but roleplay oriented instead so he doesn't have the best battle stats but was always very good at using strategy and helped his guildmates win in PvP by getting information on the enemy in his first battle then exploiting it in the next. Of course since it is now a real world his more roleplay oriented build turns out to be pretty good for the environment and he can't help being so over-leveled in a low-level populated world.
One of the most interesting aspects of Overlord is how your Racial status and passive skills can have a substantial effect on your real world persona, like how Momonga as an undead hardly feels at all anymore for people, but since he was originally a person he still maintains some of his humanity. Something to think about in character creation.
As for the Great Tomb of Nazarik and all that that implies, if we keep it there could be some interesting interactions down the road, or have it not be. I would kind of prefer to keep it though as it sets the stage pretty well. If we did get rid of it, then we would either have to make it an alternate universe where it was our guild that got sucked in, or just make it a different timeline of a group that entered either before or after Momonga's era. Either way would be a lot more work though.
