Bio

Greetings,

I am Jb; Briton by birth, roleplayer by my own hand, and lover of literature. I am also an amateur historian, a receiver of a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History - quite a useless degree, actually - and would like to think that I'm a fair, honest and open guy.

As far as RP'ing goes, I'm pretty open to most things really, all you need to do is ask! :)

So, if you've ever any questions for me, wish to speak about RP's involving myself or run by myself, or simply feel like a chat, don't be afraid to get in touch.

When is it appropriate to call it quits?

Whenever you'd like, really, although I'd ask you to endure just a little longer if possible. Believe me, I'm going to get round to this, scouts honour, but things are not panning out atm. So, you may quit if you wish, or not.

Then again, it does seem that most people have bailed already...perhaps it is time after all.
@Andreyich There are ice mages...just saying.
@Andreyich@Ollumhammersong Well, he is a Dwarf and a gyro is Dwarf tech, and therein lies the difference. However I'm going to say no, at present, as we really just need boots on the ground at this point. Could make him an engineer by all means though, as we will/do need one of them.
@Drunken Conquistador Both sound good, and nice username btw.

@Andreyich Be a Runesmith if you like, as for being a special snowflake - yeah, perhaps think differently from that.

@Ollumhammersong Fair enough, pistols be cool, yo.

@GingerBaron Yes please, a PM would be grand.
@GingerBaron In Warhammer it's "Dwarfish", 'Dwarves' are Tolkien's linguistics. Also, I'd need to get a sample of writing off you first - I'm not massively elitist or anything, but I do require a decent grasp of spelling and grammar. As for the idea, that's reasonably sound.

@mifune Fair one and thank you, I'm honoured.
If I got time, then definitely.

Noice.

Runesmith or the Ironbreaker from that other RP good? Or a Kislevite Ice Witch?

I'd prefer the Ironbreaker (of the Dwarfs), but an Ice Witch is just as good - although I'll be keeping an especially close watch on any and all magic users.

@ClocktowerEchos No Jezzail (which are generally two-Skaven weapons anyway, as well as the warping warp stone), a Hochland Long Rifle would be alright, but I fail to see what a sniper adds to the group other than the obvious. They could be in charge of the Guild's 'black powder company', I suppose...but yea, that's my say on it.

All rights to this image go to Skor2d, check him out.

Hail and well met,

If you know anything about my RPing history on this site, then you well know what to expect from this RP; that being gritty sell-sword adventuring in the world of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. In a similar vein to "Let Loose the Dogs of War!" and Treasure Hunt by CelticSoldier, as well as games such as Warhammer: Dark Omen and its sequel Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, we shall once more be delving into the world of mercenary work within the WHFB spectrum.

In this incarnation I have decided to go with an already established company of my own devising - The Guild of Esteemed Sellswords - much the The Grudgebringers of Morgan Bernhardt and those members of Glen Cook's Black Company, I am looking for pre-defined roles (a medic, a cook, a hardened veteran and so on) to constitute the core and iron backbone of the Guild.

You may then be wondering where the Hell does Morrslieb come into this then? Well, it is no obscure knowledge that the 'demon moon' is a sign of bad omens, daemonic interventions and all manner of mishaps and disasters in the Warhammer world - the fact it is ascending is probably bad enough. There are other things beside, but I'd not want to spoil potential plot lines in the interest thread.

I'm looking for writers of a good standard, as well as folks who are able to think for themselves when I'm not about (including just how far you can go without dismantling the entire RP in my abscence!), people who can post at least once a week/round or possibly twice.

Most WHFB races (of a lawful/neutral alignment) are allowed - no Beastmen, Skaven, sentient zombies or generally anything that would be knifed as soon as they entered a civilised settlement. In fact, as far as possible, I'd rather keep it to Men, Dwarfs and Elves, that going from the most common to the least common. Where such men (or women) may be from is up to the player.

So, all I can say now is thank you for reading all of that (assuming you did read it all) and, should you be interested, then pop a post up with interest, any questions you might have, and any potential character concepts you see yourself indulging in.
Yeah, let's not worry about draw weight too much in a universe where a race of scrawny elves are the best archers of all time.

Which I'm not sure actually has anything to do with draw weight, I'd say being the best archers has more to do with practise and repetition a la the Welsh/English long bowmen. :P

Then again...

@Lady Selune You get a sheet to me and we'll have a look see. :)
Day 748

Still no signs of starting, but I hold on to hope.

Indeed, and I know.

I'll be completely honest here - between work and my own mind, I am having a hard time trying to come up with a beginning post for this which, as GM, really puts a brake on the entire thing. I have written up several drafts and then deleted them again, as I just can't decide where I will take it once it gets going. In many of my RPs 'viewer participation' seems to get very limited (although I'm not really sure why) and it then ends up falling to me as the GM to pretty much manhandle it back onto a course of action; this turns out, as one may expect, to be very labour intensive.

Combined with my line of work (fast food :(), the hours, and the fact its the Easter holidays...well...it all gets bit much.

You may be thinking "but JB, I've seen you post in other RP without any trouble, so what the Hell gives?!" And this would simply be because those RPs are part of an established setting/fandom where everything is already laid out for me - as opposed to one that isn't.

Yes, this can be seen as a list of excuses (which in a way it is), but I'd prefer to to be seen more as an update and to say that I've no actually abandoned this RP but am certainly having a bit of a blip at the moment.

@Za Warudo@Mach2@Big Dread@Dogematix

If you do have any ideas for a line of narrative to follow, anything interesting or a direction, then please feel free to PM me with them. I'm open to the participation of all, and an intro post is incoming. If the worst comes to the worst, I'll sit my arse down and hammer one out by next week (at the latest).

Once again, apologies for the lack of going anywhere, and for this long post.
