Marathon training started today, and it's just as painful as I expected. Wahh. But I do feel a bit better than I do on my normal run. Pain - Bad. Runners high from a long run? Great.

The BBY system is just used by fans to lay out the Skywalker era timeline. It's just how many years before the battle of Yavin the story is set.

@Alfhedil I mostly meant that setting a character in that time would be difficult since it was so far in the past. And Mandalorians reforge their armor every generation. Every existing clan and new clan also has their own armor (example: The subtle differences between Clan Wren and Clan Kryze aka the Nite Owls). So the old republic armor wouldn't still be relevant or even depicted in the new generation of Mandos.
However, I made that statement after making a reading mistake. But those are the two things I was trying to say. Setting the character a thousand years before all other characters would make it difficult for any of the characters to interact, and Mando armor would be many, many generations past that era.
As far as the species and families from that era, while they would have evolved quite a bit, I'm sure they would still be around to some degree.

I must have missed that part of it. I've been pouring through so much information today, that some things might slip through the cracks, I apologize. I do want this to be a civil RP, though. My RP's are always chill. So, I think we should take things down just a couple of notches, because things seem pretty tense.

@Burning Kitty The only reason I'm weary about old republic stuff is that it happened THOUSANDS of years before the battle of Yavin. So, the armor from the old republic wouldn't still exist. It's hard to bring in things from that game, when it's set so far in the past.
I'm trying to reign things in a bit, because the general consensus is that we need a common goal. I have half the RP that wants to play in the Old Republic days and half that wants to do a more modern time frame. I for one would rather stick with something close to the original trilogy and the half as decent prequel material (rebels, clone wars, and rogue one). So, I'm not sure where to go with giving advice on old republic era characters.

@Alfhedil That sounds fine. :) We can have a basic interest at heart, considering that the Empire is about to start harvesting crystals for the Death Star within the next few months. So I would say a common knowledge of that could drive the characters to a common place, somewhere down the line.
@Burning Kitty That's where it's going to be tough to separate old canon from new canon. The old Darkhorse comics, and everything to do with them, is no longer canon. Same with the sentient kybers. They are a relatively new canon thing, but they are recognized as part of the canon for Star Wars as far back as episode 1.
Boba nor Jango were actually Mandalorians, in the canon, unfortunately. Jango primarily worked with deathwatch. However, he was never respected by the Mandalorians. He was simply a bounty hunter who stole Mandalorian armor. They directly say that he is scum, and that he is not welcome on Mandalore at all. That wasn't a Disney thing. That was a George Lucas thing, pre-Disney. He has stated that the Fett's were not Mandalorians, and never were.
It gets hairy trying to keep from breaking canon, but I'm not too strict on it.
