DBZ: The Sagas of The Z Warrior

@Reflection the problem is that the limit was put at 800 so people put theirs at 800. I'd make my guy weaker but not many people are going to want to make their character half as strong as everyone else, especially in a DBZ RP where fighting power is your main contribution.

It is a bit much for everyone to be twice as strong as Goku/Piccolo. Raditz is going to be absolutely crushed at this rate.

I still need to write up his history, but here's my character so far.

It's not listed under his technique, but can we assume that all of these character can use basic Ki projectiles the same way we assume they can all fly?

Aleksandar “Alex” Mistreski

Name: Aleksandar “Alex” Mistreski

Appearance:


Personality: An easy going person with a confident attitude, Alex walks through life with a relaxed self-assuredness that is at times frustrating. He is not the kind of person to get worked up about the small things in life, or the large things for that matter. He does not worry when things go wrong, or agitated when the unexpected happens; on the one hand this means he is able to keep a level head when others would panic but it also means that problems tend to spiral out of control because he overestimated his ability to deal with them or he just didn’t think it was worth acting about them.

He is someone who dislikes complications. He has simple tastes, a simple lifestyle and a simple, straight forward approach to problem solving. He has confidence in his strength above all else and isn’t one to think too hard about a situation, instead preferring to charge ahead and trust that he is strong enough to succeed; some would call him decisive, others an idiot.

One thing Alex loves above all else is a good challenge. For someone so easy going he can be surprisingly riled up by a strong opponent and he’ll never pass up an opportunity to find out just how strong he really is.

Power Level: 700

Abilities:
Baji Quan – Alex is a master of the martial art Kai Men Baji Quan, known for its explosive power over short ranges and the fact that it makes extensive use of those parts of the body that are naturally the hardest. Because of this Alex’s fighting style is based around the idea of alternating offence and defence, closing the distance between him and his opponent and striking with sudden, deadly force, before falling back.

Overdrive – As part of his training Alex has learned a technique which further boosts his offensive power and speed for very short durations. Similar to the Kaioken, this ability allows Alex to momentarily push past his normal limits to move faster and hit harder than he would normally be able to; this is achieved by supressing his Ki and internalising it for a few moments before releasing all of that stored power in one burst and delivering it to his muscles. The downsides of this ability are that he is weakened in the moments before he releases his power as he devotes all of his energy to building up for the next attack as well as the backlash that comes after pushing himself so hard.

Techniques:
Ki Guard/Ki Armoured Strike – By strengthening and condensing the Ki around certain parts of his body Alex is able to create a kind of temporary armour around himself. This armoured Ki can be used either as a defence to strengthen his guard or to add some extra power to his next attack. A relatively cheap and simple technique than is nonetheless quite effective at close range.

Piercing Ki Strike – By gathering Ki energy in the palm of his hand Alex releases a focused narrow beam of Ki. While potent this beam dissipates quickly so the range is limited, but it is strong enough to pierce through armour as well as the person wearing it.

Ki Explosion –By releasing a wave of Ki in all directions Alex is able to harm and push back his opponent. While rarely lethal, most who have been hit by it describe it as feeling like being hit by a truck, or hitting the ground after falling for a great height; in other words, a solid impact which hits the entire body at once. If timed right it could also potentially be used to deflect Ki attacks.

Transformations: None

History: There is not much to say about Aleksandar’s past, nothing of note anyway. The son of a shopkeeper, he spent a lot of his youth working in the store alongside his mother and father and the rest of it getting into trouble. Being naturally energetic, confident and also somewhat lacking in concern for consequences let to Alex being somewhat of a handful for his parents, eventually leading them to enrolling him in a martial arts school to hopefully give him an outlet for his excess energy as well as teach him some discipline.

This was probably the worst idea they had ever had.

Being a young boy and obviously finding martial arts very cool, Alex threw himself into his training eagerly and to the surprise of his trainers and his fellow students showed an amazing capacity to learn. It was not that he picked things up quicker than anyone else, or had a particular talent for it, but rather that he trained harder and longer than anyone else; he would spend all day, every day practising the techniques or strengthening his body with a simple minded focus, long after anyone else would have quit, and showed rapid growth because of it.

Eventually his master decided that Alex had outgrown his ability to teach him and offered Alex and his parents the opportunity for him to train with his own master, though this would require sending him away. His parents were reluctant at first but Alex was able to convince them to let his go, eager to grab at any opportunity to grow stronger or learn more.

It was his new master who first taught him about Ki and trained him in its use. It was after learning Ki that he first began entering tournaments, sometimes winning and sometimes losing to someone stronger, but always happy just to be able to face new challenges.

A question about the spirit abilities. You say each player gets a unique ability "based on their own profile as a character"; does this mean the ability is based on what the person is like in real life, or is it based on the profile they create for their character in game?

@Reflection I have a question about how his magecraft works. All he is doing is transferring his knowledge to a new body right? Essentially making a copy of himself with all of his memories. This means that magic circuits and his crest are not transferred to the new host right? Would any host he picks have to already be a Magus themselves? Would he then transfer his magic crest to the new host, or at least the host he chooses to the the 'main' one?

Also, you mention there are 15 copies of Akshamsaddin around the world right now. Is this just backstory fluff or do you intend on having the other copies show up and assist in the Grail War?

There are still only two of the Frieza race compared to one of the others. I think talk of deleting a character just to balance things a little more is a bit premature, unless you really want to replace your characters.

I'll try and get a character up tomorrow. They'll be human.

The interest check mentioned that hopefully everyone would play both a Master and a Servant just to keep the numbers even, but I don't think there an obligation to do both. But basically you play both Master and Servant, though you don't necessarily have to play Master to your own Servant; me and Reflection are probably going to create Master's for each others Servants for example.

@Weird Tales I'm interested in joining this, if you don't mind another having another person. I've never been in a DBZ RP before and I might have a character in mind for this.

A couple questions though. I saw in the interest thread that the basic idea for this is that Goku does not exist in this world; does this include all other canon characters as well? No Roshi, no Bulma or any of the Z fighters? Our characters can replace the Z fighters easily enough but I think the plot might get a little messed up if we exclude some of the canon characters.

@vancexentan those are fair requests. I've removed the buff from Goddess's Favour so that it just restores his luck to a B, the idea being that his luck is lowered due to Aphrodite cursing him in revenge for being injured and that skill just counters that when active.

I've bumped his strength and endurance down to B+ and I'll make endurance lower if need be. I'll admit A's where too high, I should have looked at other Servants for a benchmark; he's supposed to be a slightly second-rate Achilles so giving him higher strength was a bit much. I'm hesitant to make them any lower just due to Diomedes feats of lifting a boulder one handed and throwing it at his opponent and also for taking an arrow through the shoulder without really caring. I would have made his agility C normally, but the Rider class ups it to B by itself.

- Riding B: Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill, even vehicles that did not exist in the time period one was alive in, for they are no exception. However, cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beast.
- Magic Resistance C: Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals.

Personal Skills:
- True Sight A: The Goddess Athena granted her champion the ability to see through the illusory disguises used by the other Gods as they manipulated the events of the Trojan War to suit their own desires. Illusions crafted through magecraft, especially those intended to be used as a disguise are nothing to his eyes.
- Goddesses Favour (Athena) EX: Diomedes was Athena’s chosen champion. She aided him many times during the Trojan War, even driving his chariot for him in a charge against her rival Ares, and at times was able to count on and receive her blessed even when he did not request it. This skill activates during times of dire need and temporarily grants Rider the skill “Protection of the Goddess” at rank A; at this level the skill offers Diomedes protection from his enemies and guides his weapons to strike true almost as if Athena herself was diverting attacks or guiding his hand, as well as restoring his Luck stat to its true value of B.

Description: During the Trojan War Diomedes fought and defeated the Trojan hero Aeneas, but was unable to kill him; during this battle his friend Sthenelus managed to steal two of Aeneas’ horses, horses which were descended from Zeus’ immortal horses, thereby giving Diomedes the second best pair of horses among the Greek army, second only to Achilles own immortal ones. Later that same day Diomedes rode his chariot, led by these horses, in a charge against the Olympian God of War Ares, with the invisible Goddess Athena holding the reigns making it appear as if Diomedes only was riding the chariot. With Athena's assistance on the chariot, Diomedes was able to injure Ares with the very same spear that wounded Aphrodite.

While not as powerful or as fast as Achilles chariot, Diomedes chariot is still formidable. Requiring no driver, Diomedes is able to focus all of his efforts on attacking while riding while the chariot guides itself charges across the battlefield, mowing down everything in its path at blinding speed.
