Shoot! I just realized I left my laptop at home, but hopefully I can get a post up today at work. (Reason that's a problem is I'm spending the night at a friends and not going home tonight)

@TheHangedMan Mary would be like "Nope. Nope. not friends with her, we are good." And she would do her best the entire time they are at school to avoid the hell out of Karen. And if confronted about it would probably shake like a leaf unable to talk.

This Power of Mine

Appearance: Looks like a female version of the guy from jumanji, mustache and pith hat and all. (I'll find a picture eventually)

Name: Alex Johnson

Age: 25 years old

Gender: Female (DO NOT SAY OTHERWISE SHE WILL SHOOT YOU)

Powers: Tracking. Nothing can outsmart her (<not technically true)

Personality: To call Alex a tom boy is to do her and the term tom boy a disservice. There is pictorial proof of her as a young girl smoking a cigar with the ease of a 50 year old man who's been smoking since he was 18. When she discovered her ability to track she learned how to hunt to hone the ability. Her favorite weapon is the blunderbuss, who wouldn't like it! It is really hard to miss with it. She is not a physical person and has little body strength.

Bio: Born to two rather mundane powered people Alex has always been used to being looked down upon. That does not mean she's okay with it. From a young age she looked... masculine, and has often been mistaken as a boy. She doesn't appreciate that and wears dresses quite often. She taught herself how to hunt from about the age of 6. She works in a taxidermy office to earn money and has an assortment of animals that she killed.

Age: 47

Gender: Male

Power: The ability to summon fish. He has to use a fishing rod and line to do this. He has to cast it as if fishing and when he reals it back he has a fish, usually large tuna. (after about 30 seconds the fish disappears)

Personality: John loves fishing, always has, but to be honest he's not that good at it and that makes him sad.

Bio: John owns a small fishing boat. He can't catch anything though because whenever he casts his line he summons a fish. Do you know what that does to a man? He has no family, and no fish. He is a lonely man. He takes people deep sea fishing though and their joy is what keeps him doing okay, also their money.

Name: Mary Winthrop

Appearance:

Short bio: Mary was born to a backwaters hick of a mother who believed God had punished her with Mary. Mary's father was unknown to Mary, and the source of Mary's abilities seen as the worst possibility of a deal between Satan and God. Mary's mother believed she was suffering as Job had, and to free herself of the curse she must cleanse Mary. The woman's definition of cleanse grew worse as Mary's abilities grew. These abilities were never quite under control though.

Somehow word got to Mary's father, Andrew Winthrop, about her situation. How word got to him was never something he told Mary, but late in the night he took the small 8 year old from her home and freed her. It took Mary sometime before she realized she had side-along apparated.

The next few years Mary and her father learned from each other. Mary on how to trust people again, Andrew on how the simplest thing can bring joy. Mary was grossly undereducated so Andrew lost no time in catching the girl up in general education. When the letter for Hogwarts came he beamed.

Personality: Mary is a quite girl, though very curious. One would not expect her to know the things that she knows. Unless they saw her library research history. She is not quick to trust people. It is very unlikely that anyone knows her full history. She does not talk about her mother. Due to her undereducated early in her life Mary feels like she is always trying to catch up. Her wit can be particularly scathing at times.

Wand: 8 9/10 in, stiff, Fir, Unicorn hair

Patronus: Dove

Hobbies: Reading. She never got into quidditch really. Ice skating (She loves winter near the lake and always checks to make sure the ice is thick enough and has been known to spell it to be safer). A small love for movies.

Pets: A grey cat named Perry. Perry walks funny as when he was only a few months old he fell from a stair case and broke his back, even with magical help it did not heal properly.

Personal possessions: Standard things for school at Hogwarts, and a few extra books, some muggle, most adventure novels.

NPCs: Emma Tate, A muggle born Ravencalw same year as Mary. Emma started their friendship in their first year by discussing horror movies.

Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor

Name: Kyle McCarthy

Appearance:


Age: 29

House: was in Slytherin

Short bio: Kyle was raised in a family that touted the pure-blood belief, and he believed it. That is until his first year of school, that year he met his wife to be. They became great friends and it wasn't until the next year that everything went wrong. Voldemort's hold on the school shocked the young Kyle and he distanced himself from his family. His mother dying of natural causes, his father in the war, and his sister disappearing after the fall of Voldemort. Kyle decided, since no one else could, that he would find her. He pushed himself until he became an Auror. It took him several years after that to find Maggie, but when he did he was able to defeat her and bring her in. He retired after that, and became a teacher at Hogwarts for DADA.

Personality: Kyle is protective. He is especially protective of those he cares about, a very small group of people. He's reserved with people he doesn't know well.

If anyone wants to pm me relationship ideas feel free. I'm open for friendships from just about anyone. I have a feeling a couple people wouldn't get along with Mary that well, but we can talk about it either way.

My opinion for progression: We skip the car ride, it will devolve into speed posting and I'm good on that. I'd rather just get to the plot.
