KoL's Test Thread

Ten years have passed since the disappearance of the World's Greatest Detective, the last one to bear the badge of the Meitantei, also known as the Badge of Pallas, during the investigation of his most mysterious case.

A whole decade after this mysterious event, the granddaughter of the previous Meitantei decided to issue a world wide competition to choose who will be the next one to inherit the title of World's Greatest Detective. Those invited to the competition received a letter containing but a riddle and a blank world map, only those who could decipher it would be admitted on the competition, which came to be known as the... Detective Wars.

18xx, Annabel Island, Southern Pacific

Annabel Island, a formerly uninhabited island a few days off of the coast of Southern Australia, that was the stage chosen to hold the competition between the 12 best detectives of the whole world as well as their assistants. The granddaughter of the previous Meitantei spent a fair share of her fortune to built a modern days city as well as other installations on the island, including a Train Station that is the only link between Annabel City and the Docks, which connect the island to the outside world.

Completely cut from the outside world, save for a single phone line on the Granddaughter's Mansion, the competitors will have to solve a series of riddles, until someone claims the ultimate prize, the Badge of Pallas itself, as well as the tittle of Meitantei.

Plot

Welcome all!

As you can see this is my attempt at doing a detective mystery RP (something that's seriously lacking around here), there's not much description because the story should be very straightforward for anyone that's into this genre. To put it simply, 12 -or is it 13?- of the best detectives of the world, each with their own ways of solving mysteries, be it through science, pure intellect, or even alleged paranormal means are stuck on an island in the middle of the South Pacific, competing for the title of World's Best Detective, or Meitantei, since this RP has a lot of inspiration on anime detective fiction.

Whoever wins the competition will be showered with praises and fame, as well as the Badge of Pallas, the Goddess of Wisdom who guides all detectives, believe them or not. While it's not a explicitly supernatural artifact, the Badge is made of solid gold and does give the wearer a world wide jurisdiction to investigate mysteries, certainly a prize worthy the challenge. But, is it just so simple of a game? Well, that's what we are about to find.

Juno

Juno Eclipse

Name: Juno Eclipse.
Age: 17 years.
Gender: Female.
Race: Human.
Kingdom of Origin: Vale.

Personality:
Some would say that Juno is a simpleminded person, which is not very far from the truth. However, it's more like she's good natured and laid-back. She'll rarely get really angry with anyone and holding grudges is way beyond her. Likewise, it's rare for Juno to consider anyone as bad, or evil, at first sight unless they are doing something that can't be excused.

Despite all her carefree attitude, Juno can and will get serious when the situation demands it, such as during combat. Even if she's naive, Juno is not a complete idiot and will eventually realize if people try to take advantage of her in anyway.

History:
Juno's childhood is kind of mysterious, she doesn't have any long lasting memories. She just remembers waking up in a hospital on Vale, a couple years ago. After she completely healed of any wounds she might have had and was sent to an orphanage along with other children who supposedly survived a Grim attack on the kingdom's outskirts. Representatives of Beacon came to Juno with an invitation to join the academy, after conducting tests to measure the aptitude of the orphans to become Huntsmen and Huntresses.

Having nothing to lose, Juno accepted the invitation and went to live on Beacon. After a long and hard training, Juno became a competent fighter, using her Semblance and weapons in a gracious way during battle.

Weapons:
Juno's weapon is called Raison D'être, a sword that can load DUST using it to increase the power behind Juno's swings as well as propelling her at high speeds, allowing a great deal of mobility when used along with her Semblance. The weapon has a secondary form of a DUST powered bow that can produce arrows whose property change based on the type of DUST loaded on the weapon. She can fire at most three arrows at the same time, all of them being able to be aimed at different targets. The recoil from the shots can be used to propel Juno, just like in the sword form.

Semblance:
Juno's Semblance is named Eclipse Shift, which allows Juno to instantly teleport short distances (around 50 meters) at a rapid succession. However, Juno must touch a solid, or liquid, surface, or hit something with a melee attack, between every of her "leaps", effectively forbidding her from clearing large gaps. Though she can use her semblance once during jumps, allowing at least a small deal of aerial maneuverability.

Whenever Juno uses her Semblance she causes a visual effect like ripples in space filled with a soft purple glow on each end of her teleport, these do nothing but look cool, though.

Strengths:
- Laid-back.
- Easy to become friends with.
- A skilled fighter, being both strong, agile and tough.
- Her semblance and weapons give top-notch mobility.

Weaknesses:
- Naive.
- Can be quite lazy sometimes.
- Like wise, can be quite a glutton.
- Prolonged uses of her semblance tire her (comparable to running for endurance purposes).

Other:
Juno likes to spend her time eating snacks and playing games when she has no pressing matters to attend to, oftentimes dragging people into her hobbies.

Just to be 100% certain, her first name comes from the Roman goddess who was spouse of the Jupiter, so being associated with the sky. Her second name, I don't think that needs explanation. The whole association is to favor her purple thematic, which is one of the main points of this character.

No worries about being away; we are glad you're back, though.

Aside from what @Mega Birb said, there's also Queen Eos calling for the Machina players after the battle as well as Bastion, who was captured by the Machina, I think that's pretty much al that happened up to now.

Juno is the second of three children of the Eclipse family, who have a tradition as real estate dealers from Atlas. Given that most of her family's business was set to be inherited by her older brother, Juno had been regarded as a commodity by her parents ever since she was born, with no right to do anything she ever wished to, even though she had all her needs served to her in a silver plate. Juno never thought that she would get out of this cycle for the whole of her life, especially since she had even her marriage arranged for business related reasons.
