No offense intended. But there's a sweet spot on the sliding scale of realism, and most of the interest checks I usually see skew too far to the realism end for me.

Can't describe how quickly I go from excited to sad when a mecha premise turns out to be realism wankery.

"Lot of fuss about nothing, huh?"

The question was more rhetorical than not, and was mostly to announce Umeko's presence to her comrade. The Atlesian had elected, apparently, to go for her signature style rather than something flashier. Not that she was ever exactly understated. Tsunami's all-ranger regarded the scene over sunglasses that looked suspiciously expensive, pushing them back up her nose once she'd had her fill of the view. Not very much was happening before the fights, but whether that was good or bad depended on your view. Regardless of her own, she seemed to have acquired two more bags on top of the one slung over her shoulders; nondescript, generic, in other words exactly what every vendor at the Festival was using to pack their sales. Apparently 'nothing' was enough to merit at least a little shopping.

She gestured vaguely towards the commotion at the noodle stand, rolling her eyes with exaggerated exasperation. Not everyone could wait for the fights to throw their temper tantrums. Looked like someone with a bad case of chronic meddler syndrome had decided to step in, too, probably to give Mr. Tantrum a stern warning to not do that again. There was a frustrated customer, too. Pretty standard, frankly. Whoever thought gathering the most competitive, hot-headed, and violent collection of do-gooders and thrillseekers Remnant had ever seen in one place on a regular basis was a good idea was an idiot. Wasn't even worth thinking about, honestly. It'd be pretty minor compared to what competitor and fan alike would do before the Festival was done.

Anyone who thought it was for the Grimm clearly had never seen a pissed off fan.

"None of the real vendors arrive til at least tomorrow." She complained, leaning against the back of Tear's seat. "They've all gotta wait for the first few rounds to be done. They only bother making merch for the favorites. Wonder what they'll make for me?"

"Did you see? There's a team DEVL? Swear to God, they're biting my style."

Haha, I'd go ahead and post, @Cherry_Shield. I think Kaithas was letting people know so they could try and wrap up whatever they wanted to get done before the timeskip. You should have enough time to post.
Well,it took a lot longer than I intended, but the U for @Crimmy's TSUN has arrived.

Cyare Staunton: In the City

(@Raijinslayer, he is but he hasn't gotten around to posting yet.)

"Respectfully," The Tactical Mage said, her previously civil tone taking on a faintly cooler edge. "I am not inclined to divulge much information on the subject to someone I just met. My Magic is my edge, and I do not like giving up my ace up the sleeve. Nothing personal. Rei, on the other hand, is just arrogant enough to love talking about it. So he might be more inclined to answer."

"Speaking of, Rei, we need to decide on a job."

United really wasn't being very helpful, so Sparr gave up on getting an answer from it pretty quickly. She was focused mostly on the MECH, anyway, not the Spirit's interest in it. She couldn't tell too much more from an external examination of the frame, and she reeeally wanted to get a look at the cockpit, but she figured that probably wouldn't be very appreciated. She'd finished looking over most of the machines in the hangar, too, so she wasn't going to accomplish much more.

She stepped away from the interesting MECH with a little reluctance, spared the Titan a glance to make sure no one was meddling with it, and headed for the hangar's exit. She hadn't explored the facility much, not yet, so she figured it'd be best to get to know the Institute.

Maybe meet some people. That'd be good.

Rebekah Cross

Location: Diner, Academy Campus
Interacting With: Dana Harada @Plank Sinatra

Rebekah looked up, very briefly, from her keyboard with an expression akin to surprise. Very faint, only discernible to the very astute, but present nonetheless. It was exceptionally rare that anyone express even the vaguest hint of interest in her work, let alone actually inquire as to what her work was. Her expression normalized a second later, and her eyes returned to her keyboard so she could continue working. Her silence did not last for very long, however, as she spoke up within a few moments to provide an answer to the Japanese demigoddess' question.

"This is a summary of my theories regarding gods and demigods throughout history. Our divine progenitors, obviously, dropped off of the map after the fall of the Roman Empire, but they did not cease to exist. So I have been doing research to determine where their influence might have been felt throughout history. Mother has been one of my better sources, but she is not always... Forthcoming." She paused again a moment, typing a few words rapidly, then stopping and directing her attention fully towards Dana. "I appreciate the interest in my work. Not many are curious."

"Fewer still actually find it interesting, so I will refrain from, as they say, talking your ear off."
it objectively was not my fault

team generation back in beacon's light rising was handled by staff

and plank's replacement for trad was developed without any input from me
