⚘ A Brief History
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I've been at this a long time and when I say a long time I mean a long long damn time. I started out with table top, ADnD, back in the 80's, then dived into others: Nightlife, Mage the Ascension, Shadow Run, HoL, etc. Moved onto Online in the 90's. I've been running various incarnations of a single RP group for twenty years now. Worked helping setting up, building, and/or admining/modding various RP forums over the years: Adventure Quest, Priston Tales, War Gods, etc. It's been a long road filled with ups and downs. I'm an evil GM, you've been warned.

Outside of RP, I am a mom. Yup, I've reproduced and there are little Lady A's running around plotting their own take over of the world. I am a published author and once upon a time an award winning poet. I've done a lot in my life. I haven't done as much as I would like. I've grown a lot. I have a lot more growing to do. I love to cook, baker by trade currently. I went to university and majored in Mathematics. I've programmed websites, worked as a model, worked as a 3d modeler. Shit, I even used to dance. And have been known to sing a bit. Jack of all trades. Master of like 3, lol.

⚘ Looking Inside
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is where I go into my personality. In the past I would normally make some self deprecating remark about how I am a bitch of a GM, pushing my rpers as hard as I push myself and so forth. Not anymore. People change, or perhaps they just come into their own. This can happen at any age. More than that it can happen several times over the course of your life as you discover and rediscover yourself. Everything happens for a reason, usually that reason is ones owns actions. Or inaction's. Right now, I am in a better place than I can remember being in the longest time. I am happy and at peace. I have no regrets. Maybe I should but I don't. I plan on keeping this peace I have found, I went far too long without it.

Currently I am enjoying several things. Some are things I have enjoyed most of my life: Coffee, chocolate, bacon, M*A*S*H. One isn't something I have enjoyed since I was seventeen: being clean and free of poisons in my system. It is beyond description and I love it: One-hundred and twenty days and counting. Music taste is shifting to more mood oriented than anything, strange I am finding a lot of newer Country I am enjoying and I have NEVER liked country. Watching things like Lark Rise to Candleford and being hooked to the point of reading the trilogy. Recently added yoga to my workouts and all I can say is, "Fuckmaste: the fucked up in me accepts the fucked up in you."

Titian listened and he smiled a bit. "Don't matter to me, I'm good in a bed of dirt," he said with a chuckle. Did nothing get this man down? Apparently not. Bridge blown? Nope. Woman shot to the sky and splattering all over the place. Nope. Man's head bashed in? As far as anyone there knew, nope. Hell he was smiling shortly after it and popping grapes. Seemed the Titian fellow was all smiled and chuckles. Even at the suggestion that they may be housed with the servants, which usually meant some place in the basement with the earth as a floor and bad beds or cots that had rats scurrying around and the smell of the sewage pit wafting in from all angles.

Standing up, he smoothed his pants down a bit and tugged at the bottom of his over-jacket. Leaving his mask on the bench he had been sitting on and taking a look around at everyone as their masks came off. This only made his smile grown even more. "Pity such lovely faces have been covered up for so long," he mused more to himself than to actually voice a compliment to the women in the room. Looking back at Lord Bardolf he smirked a bit. "Might as well put me with the servants. I'm obnoxious," he said with a cheeky grin before following the man towards the door. "Shit, when isn't a good time for a drink. Bottoms up pops!"

Lord Bardolf glanced over towards the tall man who had taken off his mask first and then over towards another as they both seemed to express the same question. Just where would they be put up. "I have not decided as of yet. There are several options. In my guest house, in guest quarters here in the manor, or with the servants. I supposed that will be up to how much you all decide to disrupt my home and my temperament," he stated rather flatly to the question. He had not wanted them from moment one and that was made perfectly clear when they arrived. Though the staff that had met them at the gate didn't make any indication that they were not invited by the Lord of the Manor personally, he made sure that was clear as crystal as soon as they were within his home. "Shall we move on, I could use a drink," the man stated as he turned and headed towards the door.

Over in the Starry Salon, the four men stopped and exchanged a few glances with each other before carrying on and moving into the Central Hall where they started to make their way up the stairs. Jonas followed Walnut into the next room as Quinton stood there waiting for Amaranthine and Swamp to catch up. "Well from what that tall fellow said, the dead man caused the young woman's death by messing with her chair and causing it to sky rocket up. So defenseless or not, he has already killed someone here so he's better off dead. As far as I am concerned, anyone taking a life like for fun and games deserves to be drawn and quartered while being burned alive," Quinton piped in as he eyed Walnut. "So we're better off with him dead. Who knows, he could have targeted you next."

On the second floor landing the short woman nodded. "Oh, no, you are fine ma'am," she said as she stood there. Her eyes darting around constantly. Pulling the door closed behind her, she did follow Blush, coming up beside her. "Hi, I'm Edna. You said you were upstairs? You didn't by chance see a lovely pale young woman with pink eyes up there did you?" she asked in earnest, a bit of a 'oh please god tell me you did' look on her face. Turning the corner she stopped as the four men started coming up the stairs. "Maestro's have you seen the Lady Analia?" she asked quickly. They shook their heads towards her and turned their attention to Blush.

"Oh you might as well go back up stairs," the one that had identified himself as Maestro to Creme. "Bridge was blown apparently and you are stuck here. They are coming up for dinner soon," he said before tipping his head and moving passed the women, going up the stairs.

October 31st, 1943 - A Lesson In Family History

Libby looked up towards the sky and shook her head. "Naw, ain't seen that one b'fore but somethang I learned over the years, ain't nothing ever normal so even the abnormal ain't nutin' to be surprised by," she said as she continued to look at the sky now that it had gotten darker. "Didn't know she could do that but shit, doubt I'll ever know what all Management can do." Shrugging a bit to herself she looked over towards Faith and smile a bit. "Hell sure thang girl, happy too, nice to talk to someone other than Carnie folk, we all got the same stories these days, gets real boring if you know what I'm talking about." Hitting the grounds she spotted the main group but stopped and looked back to Bart and Faith. "I'm gonna head to the tent to get my drink and dance on, feel free to come join us later if ya want," she said as she spun around and started to head towards the main tent where the Carnie folk were with a bit of a wave back to them as she went.

Siduri cast a glance towards Libby as she walked towards the main tent before turning her attention back to Gilbert. "Oh my dear, not fallen... Resheph is anything but fallen. He is merely... human now," she said and shrugged a bit as she picked a bit of lint from her dress and let it fall like snow from her fingers to the ground. Then a look of understanding came to her features. "Oh my, you don't know do you? How silly of me. Emendators do not die out right, you are simply given a mortal life, one of which you loved most during your eon of existence. He will live and then yes die eventually but for now he is anything but fallen young one. He is simply on the seas where he wanted to be most," she explained a bit but it probably was not enough detail for those that were there but hopefully it was enough for now.

While James seemed happy to hear the news, Siduri looked at him oddly as manifested a sandwich and offered it too her. There was a tug at the corner of her lips as she reached out and took it. "Oh, well thank you. Few things are more classic than a ham and cheese, the invention of the sandwich was probably one of man's greater contributions to this world though I will admit I am more partial to peanut butter and strawberry jelly," she said before taking a bite of the sandwich and chewing gently.

Glancing over towards Sophia, she lowered the sandwich and sighed. "At this point, she is no where," Siduri said rather vaguely before scrunching up her lips. "Do forgive me, it is rather hard to keep straight what I do and do not need to explain."

"She means that your woman is in limbo right now deciding which way to go," Ben piped in before taking a long drag from his cigarette.

"Yes, Limbo, or as some refer to it as purgatory. I am still trying to figure out just how she was able to breach the barrier but I do suspect it has to do with her ability to create them," she said motioning towards the Paradoxes. "I worry about which path she will take for as we know there are things out there that even our are afraid of, understandably. One never likes seeing the black sheep of a family."

Ben looked over towards Gio and then back towards Siduri. "You people never speak straight do you?"

"When one has spent centuries not even hearing their own voice in their head because of being alone we sometimes forget how to," she said before turning her attention to Gio. "Yes, and no... Oh where to start. You five were created from my consciousness. Each of you taking on certain traits and abilities. Not related persay as your bloodlines come from humans but everything else about you comes from the Alpha through me. There were others though as well before you. Four from me and 2 from another. Those four were birthed, not brought into consciousness, with certain abilities, but nothing as strong as yours and they were well cursed or blessed, depending on how you look at it, with more mortal lives but with the abilities to reproduce. Out of each generation one was given the powers of the Avatari, while the others were not. They had their own ways but were a tad... insane. Ben here is the last Creature of Light. The Prince to line of the Alpha, my creator. The Creatures of Dark are also around but I believe you call them Destruere."

Ben shook her his slightly. "Basically, her mother created her and another. Each could give birth for a time and created the lines of light and dark. We ain't totally powerful like you folk and we can die normally but we can have kids. Then she found a way to pass on more of her through consciousness and chose you five. Like adopted kids given a hell of an inheritance. Each generation of my line had kids. Passing down some powers to the next generation to 1 in that generation. I'm just the latest and the last apparently, that is unless I get some girl knocked up," Ben said rather frankly as he picked at the nail bedding of his thumb.

Kirkpatrick House: "Of course," Millicent said as she went about making sure everything was put back exactly the way she had found it. She obviously didn't want the mans who study this was to find out that she had been in there. As Maeve informed her she was going to try to get the letter sent off she looked over towards her. "And thank you." With mailing something during this time, there were a few methods to go by. In higher homes such as the Kirkpatrick's one could usually just rest the mail near the door and the butler would see to it. For normal people they would have to go the Post and hand it off to the next carrier heading in that general direction. Or one could take it the head of a home and ask if they could hire someone personally to take it with more speed (if one didn't have the initial funds to do so themselves)

The kitchen hadn't exactly been loud but it was noisy as people were working. That was until William broke the news of what had transpired. Everyone stopped suddenly and Cook dropped a spoon. It banged against the counter, flipping slightly before dinging several times on the floor. Had it been a needle it would have been just as loud all things considered. "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph," the Cook said as the girl at the stove lowered her head and sniffled slightly. "It must 'ave been Rory and the Father..." Cook added as she swallowed hard. Slowly sitting down as her hand rested on the counter. "Someone go and check on Lady Kirkpatrick," she managed to get out in a trembling voice. One of the servants nodded and headed out of the kitchen.

The driver sat there and sighed a bit. "Take it you knew the two well? You have me condolences ma'am," he said quietly.

"Mmm, yes, thank you. Yes, known them for a long time. Rory 'as been with the house since he was a wee one. The Father was one of the Lady's underwings, she made sure he would be trained..." Cook said quietly before sniffling a bit and standing up. "They been family you know." Finishing preparing the trays quickly with a sad face before settling them down in front of both William and the Driver.
Port Annan: Now the Post was not only where one would send of the mail and wait for it to be delivered but it was for carriages. It was quiet literally a post in the ground where horses would be tied up, waiting for riders and drivers to head out this way and that to deliver not only mail and parcels but people from point A to point B. It was not hard to find, each small town had one towards the edge of town. Now the smaller ones there was a high chance no one would be there but in the larger ones and in ports there tended to be people waiting around on tree stumps or stools or just sitting around on the ground or even on top of their carriage or horse.

Nigel smiled over towards the lady before she left. "Of course miss, good luck on yer journey," he said before he had left the room. It wasn't long before Nigel came out of the kitchen with a portly but kind faced woman following him. He carried a couple of small boxes and she carried several plates of food. On held fish and chips and he directed the woman to place it in front of Vlad. The others were a roast with root vegetables and they were placed in front of the other two. "Here we go, something good for the belly and a long journey and here we have," Nigel said holding up the boxes. "Some of my wife's famous sweets. Shortbreads and berry tarts. These will surely tingle yer tastebuds," he said proudly as the woman smiled.

"I promise you be liking them," she said in a happy voice as Nigel walked off to go clean some tables and tend to other customers. "Anything else I can do for ya?" she asked before her eyes went to the German fellow who had Dieter, the ferret not the brother, on his shoulder and was feeding the small rodent food while making the oddest of faces towards the animal.

England

Carlisle: The carriage sped down the road but while the pace was fast it was smooth as it could be. The older man seemed to know his way around a carriage and was ensuring they kept moving but were not in as much danger as they would have been if they had been going at a break neck speed. The carriage bounced slightly but it was a nothing that would send either of them spilling out on the floor of the carriage or against the wall either.

Ny looked over towards Virginia and flapped his gums a few times with a chuckle. "Oh my my, what a question. What a question. I wonder if I would be able to ever come up with something that would surprise a Crypt. Let me see, let me see." He looked off for a moment, thinking. He seemed to be mumbling to himself and then shaking his head, dismissing whatever event or little tid bit of his life came to mind as not being shocking or surprising enough about himself. Every so often he would chuckle and then shake his head again. "Oh my, hard one this is. Yes indeed."

After a few more long moments he finally slapped his knee and nodded to himself. "Hrm, yes, perhaps not so much about me persay but about you. Yes, well not about you personally but your family. Did you know there is a das Grabgewölbe in Germany? Distant, very distant. Whom broke off centuries ago so they could pursue the sun instead of the night? Yes, very different from the people you know but still of the same root beds. Was such a scandal. Tan skinned and dark eyes, quiet normal in the eyes of so many but so very strange to those that would have been blood elsewhere. Oh yes, truly a strange sect they are. Went quiet mad going against their nature."

While Amaranthine waited for Dr. Swamp to answer her, she heard Quinton speak up. Telling her to catch up with them as soon as she was done. There was a small nod of understanding from her before she spoke. "Yes, of course," she said in a soft and kind voice. She doubted they were really worried about her, considering her small stature and the amount of things she was carrying. And she doubted even more that they were worried about what Dr. Swamp would do as it seemed that the man was having problems even walking due to the fact he had been shot. Granted from what she had seen thus far he had a hard time walking in general, since he did use a cane and all. It wasn't like it was a fashion statement. Right?

Turning her attention back to Dr. Swamp, she waited for an answer. Her fingers started to curl in, figuring he was going to tell her no but in the end he surprised her and that surprise was worn clearly on her features as her eyes widened a bit. As he lowered his head she reached up gingerly and undid the mask. It took a little time as she didn't know exactly how it was on or if there was any method to secure it that she couldn't clearly see. Finally, she started to lift it away from his face. What was under there? Had he picked one that covered so much of his face because what was under there wasn't pleasant to look at? Was that why he seemed so odd at dealing with her from time to time?

Yet, apparently, at least to her, this was not a face that she thought was ugly as the mask came off. Pulling the mask off and setting it on the table she smiled a bit. "It is very nice to meet you as well Sir," she said with a bit of a nervous chuckle. He was handsome to look at, while not stunning, there was something sharp about his features that pleased her. Yet the smile faded as Walnut spoke. Her head turning sharply. "From what has been said that defenseless man has already caused the death of one, so I doubt it was without provocation," she said quickly before looking back towards Dr. Swamp. "Right?" she asked, needing some sort of confirmation.

Deeper Than The Sands

Date: October 6th, 1924

Notes: As a reminder this is the direction you need to go to hit the 3 main areas of the town -
To the left they would find the market and bazaar.
Straight ahead they would find the rose gardens and perfume dealers.
To the right there was a sign for Tours to Athribis and Leontopolis. Leontopolis was known for it's ancient tiles. Athribis was known as the birth place of Amenhotep and many artifacts in the museum back in Cairo held pieces from many a dig that had happened there, transported on rails by trains funded by a George Jay Gould. This is also where you will find the main train depot in the area.

*You should be able to reach each place by the end of this round if you should so chose.

J.C. shook his head. "Your guess is good as mine Lord Major, I ain't be knowing a lot about this area. More of an old west man myself. I like to have some tumbleweeds mixed in with me sand," he said with a chuckle before looking to Gene. "Shit, anyone got a sled? I bet them damn sand dunes would work like snow," he said with a cheeky grin before he started looking over the crowds again. "Where day hell is that woman," he muttered to himself before placing his fingers at the corner of his mouth and giving a piercing whistle in different directions.

Slowly walking against the crowds, long fingers laced together around the shaft of a black umbrella that was carried high over a dark haired womans head. She was dressing in long flowing black linens, much in her usual style but obviously not her usual fit. She seemed to glide across the ground. "Oh darling do desist with such piercing whistles before you spook a camel, I do not wish to be spit on today," she said as she came over to him and laced an arm through his. Taking the umbrella from her, J.C. held it over her head to keep the sun off her face. "Are you doing to introduce me?" she asked, her eyes moving towards Gene and giving the slightest of smiles before looking towards the man who seemed to be in charge.

"Oh right, Lord Major, this is me girl Bella. Bella, this is the Lord Major Keystone," he said and she quirked a brow as she looked over towards J.C. "Yes, he is Peters uncle," he confirmed her unspoken thought. Nodding she turned back to the Lord Major. "George asked for some help today, they needin' a tour guide of sorts."

Reaching out her long painted fingers to the Lord Major she gave a nod of understanding. "Tis a pleasure Lord Major, I have heard much of your nephews bravery from George. If you are indeed in need of someone to show you the sights I would be honored to do as much. I do so have a certain level of obsession when it comes to the crypts in the area and have studied them to some degree. By no means do I know all their secrets but then again if I did, what fun would it be to return?"

Market/Bazaar: The market and bazaar are crowded, it seemed that the majority of those from the boat decided to go here first. Like to many such places there are many a table set up under make-shift tents. It doesn't seem as if anyone has a permanent set up. Each easily able to be disassembled and moved when needed. A traveling market if you would so people can set up, sell for a time, and then move on to the next city. From clothing to silks to honey to flowers and more is all set up. There doesn't seem to be a system of how things are set up. Food and drink vendors dot the area and people are standing around trading and bartering prices in various languages. It seems nothing is actually priced and one must negotiated and hope to get a good deal without insulting the vendor.

Rose Garden/Perfume Dealers: The rose gardens are set up in long rectangles of different varieties of roses. Some long stem, some smaller bush like ones, and in so many colors and varieties. It looks like a rainbow if one were to look from one side to the other once they entered. There are people set up along them to sell freshly cut ones or to follow you as you pick what you would like. Some are much more fragrant than the others. Perfume dealers line the outside far end of the gardens where people can chose from already created fragrances or chose different notes in which to create their own.

Tours/Train Depot: Where the tours are located there is a smaller train depot that has a schedule for trains going to both Athribis and Leontopolis. There are also camel tours but those are full day that leave in the morning. They have already set out for the day. The Train depot can compensate for an hour to hour schedule to each place and bring a tourist back in a much shorter amount of time for those that just wish to make a quick viewing of places. There are two sets of tracks set up, one to go to Athribis and one to go to Leontopolis. There is a map that shows it is actually just one long continuous loop of a track that makes four stops over the course of an hour. The main depot, Athribis, the main depot track 2, Leontopolis, and then back to the main depot. It seems that four trains run constantly from morning until evening circling to each place and having a stop every half an hour.

Road To Grimm: Roy smirked a bit as he turned off the I-65 and onto Grimm Highway. It wouldn't be long now until they got to what was referred to as Murder Town USA, which was something considering how many people died in Justice everyday. "You know, then I would need a power set. How do you think I would look with Adamantium claws?" he asked as he put hit fist up. He laughed a bit as he rolled down the window a bit and lit up his cigar. Once it was settled between his teeth he growled a bit. "Oh yeah, harnessing that inner animal. Though I don't know if I can get my veins to bulge that much. Or that cut. I like pizza too much."

He shrugged a bit and ashed the cigar out the window. Driving towards town he sighed as it came into sight. The town had a thin haze over it from the crash sight and Roy quirked a brow. "Well fuck, makes this play look like Sleepy Hollow..." he said as he started to slow down from highway speed to city speed. "Let's get to the station and find out what the hell happened while I was gone," he added as he turned through town making their way towards the small government section of town and the police station.

Chicago, Illinois: Atticus nodded and picked up the business card. Taking a look at it he flipped it over in his fingers before looking back over to the man. "Understood, if there is a war I know who to call," he said with a slight laugh before opening a drawer and placing the card into it. He nodded as Caesar said he had to take it and went silent to deal with the phone. Pushing his chair back he stood up and picked up the box on his desk, carrying it back over to the shelf and placing it back where he had retrieved it from. His hand ran over it before he turned back to Caesar, waiting for the man to be done with the phone.

Once he was Atticus cleared his throat. "On second thought, I want to cash in that favor now," he said before turning back to the box and opening it up. Pulling out something from it and palming it in his hand. "Did you know that many of our religious traditions actually comes from much older religions. That we adopted them in an effort to make it easier for Pagans to convert?" he said as he closed the box slowly. "That even the Zodiac can be found within the bible as we know it, but it goes back much further than that?" he added as he walked back over to his desk slowly. "In fact, the zodiac is found in medieval stained glass as at Angers Cathedral." Sitting down he looked at his hand and shook his head. "Nothing in this world comes without a price, unfortunately." Opening his hand he held up a dice looking metal object. "Twelve sides, for 12 of their gods and yet they were over ruled by two." Pausing he set the item down on his desk and looked back at Caesar. "Ever heard of the Goddess Juno?"

Claire looked over towards Keystone and nodded. "Yeah, take a nuke," she snickered before waiving it off. "Knives, blades, a sixth sense. I did a read up of the place when I got the job here since it was close. It seems to be a house for bad juju. Got a cross? Holy water? Ever seen Buffy? Figure that place if a fucking hell mouth. Granted it could be a one time just bad egg fucking everything over but then again, small towns are good at covering shit up and any place with an Insane Asylum can't be fun unless you want a jacket that can make you hug yourself because your someone special too."

Shrugging she looked around the room and her lips pursed. "Honestly, other than the usual, I'd try to get a priest to bless me going there or to Justice, so you might want a double." Reaching into her pocket she pulled out something and then let it slowly fall from her fingers. It was a pendant on a chain, catching the chain just before she let it fully go. "Shit, keep this," she said as she handed it over. It was just a St. Christopher's medal. Checking her watch she looked at the time. "Fuck, okay, we gotta book. Caesar will need you and I gotta get to the airport."

Adelaide looked over towards Robert. "Yeah, let's do this in the vault," she said before setting down her coffee and slipping her phone into her back pocket. "Come on." Walking to the front door she locked it once Zoie and Mali were out the door and pulled down the blinds, turning the open sign to closed. Whenever their contact with the security company got there, there was a box he could ring them with. Heading to the stairs she made her way downstairs and towards the vault. Going trough the usual security procedures before opening the door. Pulling it open she stepped into the vault and waited for Robert. Once he was in she closed it up and started looking around. "Now where did I stick that," she muttered to herself. "I gotta admit it was weird but it wasn't the first time he had sent me something to pass on to Marc. Just after Marc got transferred to Justice I didn't get anymore. Didn't open the others but now that they..." she stopped there. Clearing her throat she kept looking around. "It's around here somewhere."

Zoie looked over towards Mali and nodded. "Sure as soon as we hit the I-65 outside of Gary we'll stop for a'bite to eat and can switch from there," she said as she wove through the streets of Chicago and headed east towards Gary. It wouldn't be a long drive to get them outside of Gary, maybe an hour at most if the traffic was bad. Hopefully it wouldn't be. Granted even bad traffic out here was nothing compared to Justice. Thankfully the traffic wasn't so bad and they were making some good time. "Funny, I moved out to Justice because I ain't be wantin' a borin' life in south Georgia. Now I'd give anythang fer a borin' life," she said in passing with a bit of a sigh. "Beginnin' to think that a zombie apocalypse wouldn't be a bad idea fer this world, then maybe then at least we'd know who the hell to look out fer. The ones not tryin' to eat our fuckin' brains."

Grimm, Indiana (Grimaldi Manor): Back when Riley and Adelaide were in high school, things were calm around Grimm. This was before the whole murder at prom thing happened. There had been whispers about bad things happening hundreds of years ago but for the most part if anything bad happened in town people didn't talk about it and it was forgotten the next generation. Only the older folks in town mentioning weird things in passing from time to time that the younger crowd would just blow off as people getting old and senile. It was a small town, where people knew everyone, you didn't bother locking your doors at night. You didn't worry about it. Especially in the richer part of town as the houses were so far apart and if anything was stolen it was easy to find the kid who got a hair up their ass to try to spice things up around town.

It was back when Adelaide was young that her parents had put in a music sound system for their pool and tennis courts. Adelaide loved singing and when she started dating Kai they would sit out in the garden and singing around a camp fire. Or when they had parties Riley could entertain the group of friends. It was all so wholesome back then. Very Americana. Yet, right then, those speakers weren't playing anything nice, in fact it went from silence to creepy really damn fast when music started playing over them. It was the creepy kids music that got played when the ice cream trucks would come around town. The controls for the stereo system were in the houses basement.

Gunny didn't say anything but gave a slight nod and smile towards the thanks that Riley gave. Auntie huffed a bit. "Of course girl, wouldn't be right to take you folks in and no make sure you gots clean," she said towards Riley and then gave the girl a wink before she left. Then came Erica, another nod from Gunny at the thanks and Auntie gave a "yer welcome," to her. Turning she looked over at Gunny. "Wouldn't hurt if you actually spoke. you do got a tongue you know," she said poking a bit of a fun at the man. He just smiled a bit and crossed his arms over his chest. Auntie rolled her eyes and turned her attention towards Ash as he came up. When he spoke she chuckled. "Well I'll be damned, didn't think any hill folk were left. Should've guessed some of you were around, though yours is only one of a couple I've heard since the outbreak," she said as she handed over his things. When he spoke to Gunny, Auntie took in a breath and bit the back of her knuckles for a second before clearing her throat and turning her attention back to those that were coming up to get their things.

Gunny's eyes went over to Ash, his head turning in the mans direction but that was tall the movement he made at first. That was until Ash mentioned Thana and Gunny's eyes dropped. He listened and nodded once before looking back at Ash. He drew a breath in, but it wasn't obvious if he was contemplating how to answer the man or if he was just not going to answer him at all. His eyes were a blank sheet, like how Thana's got when she was in thought. Not revealing what she was thinking about. It seemed it was a family trait, one she had inherited from her father who was sitting there. If only Ash knew what was going on through his mind right then, then maybe it would have been easier to deliver the news....

The sun had not yet fully risen but its morning light cast hues of red and orange and gold against the horizon. Golden beams cascaded through the trees lining the less traveled road. A haze hung in the air. One that clung to the skin and whispered of heat coming later that day. All was quiet, save the gentle hum of an engine rumbling as tires turned on the asphalt. Despite the humidity the driver had a smile on her lips. The night had been long but well worth the near sixty mile trek. A stash of medical supplies that was her reward for the journey could mean a much easier recovery for a friend whom had just lost part of herself. It was worth it and she would be back to them soon. Or so she thought.

There was a slow squeak to the brakes as the truck rolled to a stop. Hands tensing on the wheel for a moment before the gear shift was thrown into park. Pulling off the sunglasses, she reached out the window and pulled herself up and out of the window halfway to get a better look. This wasn't what anyone wanted to see and yet there it was. Hundreds of them, shuffling slowly down the highway in the distance. Far enough ahead not to be a direct threat, close enough to make ones blood run cold. Their backs to the truck, they kept walking, they hadn't noticed her. Every step would bring them closer to the house. Sliding back into the seat she pondered her options. Maybe she could find another way around. Maybe she could get back in time to get them out. Maybe. Maybe's weren't good enough. Like a carrot on a stick, it was time to play bait.

Throwing the truck into drive, one foot on the break and one on the gas. The tires smoked as the engine revved. RPM's shot up before the boot left the horizontal peddle and the machine tore towards the horde. The horn blared and she shouted. It got their attention. Closer and closer they got until it was close enough and the wheel cut hard. The truck spinning around until the bed flung around 180 degrees. Then she waited. Seconds ticked by so slowly until she let up on the break once again and gradually gave the machine gas. It would be a slow trek but she had to get them to follow her. Away from her destination. As far away as possible until it was safe enough to get back to them. Minutes would tick by like hours and hours would tick by like days. Gas was running low, and eventually, it was time to break off. It was the best she could do but at least now the house and those she was with would be safe. Hit the gas and get out of there. The distance between them grew rapidly. After the bridge, she would find a place to turn around and another route back. What was that sound? Something beating like a humming bird.

Crossing a bridge was never fun in this day and age, no matter how well constructed it was. This one probably wasn't safe before the world collapsed. Now, it was surprising that it even still stood. It creaked and cried out as she drove slowly over it. The horde still in the rear view mirror. Just get across, just get across. If it collapsed under the weight of the horde, so be it. They would be washed away with the splintered wood and things would be better off for the group in general. If it didn't at least they would still be moving away from the house. In the end, that was all that mattered. Just a few more yards and she would be in the clear.

Something ripped through the truck, or at least it felt like it had. How it happened she didn't know. Maybe there was something in the road unseen. Maybe it was wear and tear. Maybe it was just age. Did it really matter? No, not really. All this time afraid that the bridge would give out from under her and it ended up being the truck itself that turned against her and flipped her world upside down. Careening as knuckles went white and breaks were pressed, the truck spun out of control and collided with the side of the bridge. Age makes all things brittle. Even concrete. If only the bridge had been made of concrete, then maybe she would have stood a chance of recovering. Worn wood and rusted beams were hardly as durable.

There was little time to brace, arms locking against the steering wheel, back pressed against the seat. It didn't matter. Once the grill hit the water, it was like slamming against a brick wall. It was like getting hit in the chest with a sledge hammer. No airbag deployed. Her elbows and wrists buckled under the force, her shoulders screamed. The wind rushing out of her as her chest collided against the steering wheel and her face went into the windshield. Everything burned white hot with pain. It was cold and wet and rushing around her as the water poured in and the trunk began to sink. The cabin filled quickly and she was not even able to grab one last breath.

We like to think in situations like this we would know what to do. Maybe we have played it out time and time again in our heads. We might have even been taught what to do, instructed, or run drills. Perhaps all of the above and then some. The thing is, we never know how we are going to react to a situation until we are actually living in it. There is no preparing when one is face to face with Lady Luck and the dice have been tossed. Panic sets in and you struggle, wasting precious moments doing everything you swore you would never do as you watched some idiot on the screen. Turns out we're all idiots in the end.

"Did you see that shit?" The sun hit the glass and cast a moving shadow along the ground. It cut over the land far slower than it was truly moving. High above the land below it glided through the air coming south from a far out trek the day before. They had had to land and stay grounded the night before, taking refuge on the rooftop of an old Wal-Mart. Overnight trips were not uncommon for them. Each year that passed they had to go further and further out from home. It just was how things were now. Supplies weren't replenished by deliveries made by semi's crossing the country from point A to point B anymore. If you wanted something you had to search for it and pray you struck gold. Last night they had struck out. It was time to go home.

"Bring it back around." His eyes swam with the colors of the sky and sea, worn lids hung heavy. They had seen and experienced far too much over the years. Seeing that truck careen over the bridge was one more in a long line of tragedies. The steady whump whump of the helicopters blades matched the thump thump of his heart as he moved to the edge between steel and nothingness. Ripples in the water turning to small breaks and waves as it got closer and closer to the surface. "Steady." All he had to do was step now and he would be weightless for a brief moment of time, a moment that would both hang forever and was gone in a nanosecond.

"Dude, no one could survive that. Hey! Seriously!" His eyes were focused on the waters surface, it was torn and bubbling as air from below escaped to the surface. The voices grew around him but he didn't hear them. Each one trying to get him to listen to reason. To not bother. It was a waste of time. Especially when the water started to turn pale pink and then trails of bright crimson. "It ain't worth it!" The crew was screaming at this point but he only heard the thumping of the blades cutting through the air above. Taking a leap of faith, a simple step from cold hard steel to oblivion, he fell from the flying machine and plummeted towards the blood stained waters below.

Like a bullet he broke the surface and blazed towards the darkness below. Coming around and pushing deeper he swam, the suns light could only break so far through the murkiness of the water, a single headlight flickered near the river bed. It was his only guiding light at this point. It was so hard to move in the chilled waters, an icy shock to any system but even more so to aged joints. He kept going, following the trail of blood that grew thicker and darker the further he went, flowing out from the side window. A pale limp wrist just floating there and a crushed face as he finally caught a glimpse of the true tragedy to this wreckage. Maybe they were right? What was the point?

"Where is he?"

"I don't know. You see anything?"

"No, do you?"

"He's been down there too long!"

Gasping for air as he broke the surface, a limp body held close as he waved above him. It wasn't long but still too long before they were on their way, flying south over a hoard that was still trying to follow. "Why the fuck did you do that? For a corpse!?"

Gunny blinked and finally spoke after a long silence. "She was found and brought here. She isn't here now," he said as he looked straight ahead. Auntie cleared her throat and handed over a pack to Hank.

"Yer welcome," she said to him before looking back over at Ash. Gunny was simply sitting there, looking at nothing. "Why don't you go sit down son, ain't really a good time ya know," she said before turning her attention back forward and called out another name. Beatrice made two trips, one for her and one for the one armed girl. "I'm gatherin' that girl. Clothing's good and all but ain't like this is a trip to Belks on Clearance day," she said with a smirk before moving on to the next one. "Happy to, that boy is the spittin' image of ya," she said to Jack. Gunny was still just sitting there, he hadn't moved an inch since he spoke.

Aunite looked at Alexander and smirked. "Oh don't be worryin', ain't a stain I can't get out," she said as she stood there and handed him over his pack. "Yeah, that's what they call me. Ain't be knowin' why, I am not exactly the cuddly type," she said to Nigel before moving on to the next. When Amelia came over she put the things in the girls pack. "Yer welcome," she said. She was almost done handing things out. There were only a few others left. When Manny came up, her brow quirked. "Shit, ain't no one wanting to have a rotting tooth right now. Ain't like getting an appointment for the dentist is a cake walk anymore," she said before the last one was called for and came up. "Sure thing," she told Hunter. As he returned to his seat she went over the list. "Alright, that's it," she said as she started to gather her things.

Tesla checked the molds and his watch. Glancing over towards Thalia. "Well I won't be able to get you to be able to thread a needle with it but yeah, I got ya. Good place for the cut, higher up would have been a problem but I've done more with worse," he said as he looked satisfied with the setting of the goop. "Okay, just gonna get you out of there now, sorry if I gotta be a bit handsy but easier if I do it," he said before getting closer to her and bracing the bucket against his hip. Using his hands on her arm just above where it solidified he moved it around. It was like a large suction cup against her and made a popping sound as he finally got the her stump pulled out. Peaking in to the bucket he grinned. "Oh yeah, that's a good one. So, what do you prefer? Silvers or bronze look?" he asked. It was then Alexanders turn and he went through the same process. "Yeah, ain't exactly fun but hey could be worse. We used to have to use plaster. That shit took hours to dry and was such a mess," he said before pulling out Alexanders leg and checking the mold. "Okay, looks good. Give me a few days, should have the basics done then," he said before putting the buckets back on the cart and pushing it towards the door. "Heading to the shop to get started," he called back to Gunny and Auntie.

"Looks like he's ready to go, figures. Man prefers making shit than anything else, other than food," Auntie said before glancing over towards Gunny. He still hadn't moved. "Hey, Macsen?" she said quietly as she knelt down next to him and rested her hand on his shoulder. "You okay?" she asked. Gunny slowly turned his head and looked at her. He didn't say anything, just standing up and gathering his folder. Auntie sighed as she stood back up and grabbed her cart, pushing it out of the room as Major held the door open for her.

Clearing his throat Gunny addressed the group again. "The Padre will be in shortly to follow up and assign you to your rooms," he said before making his way out of the room. He cast a glance towards Ash before he exited. The Major holding the door open for him and it swinging shut as he left. The Major gave Panama a look and Panama blew out what felt like a long held in breath. The air was thick right then.

*Okay, have a round to let all that sink in. Rooms will be taken care of next round. The food is still laid out, what remains of it that is.

Tatiana Newnan

Location: Camp Mexico Beach: Quarantine (W: Conference Room)
Skills: Psychology, Survival

Tatiana sat there. Jamie seemed to be done eating. She wasn't going to wait any longer to get him out of that small dressing gown. Pulling his pack over to her she pulled out some clothing and laid him down on the couch. She seemed to focus on the child as Jack came back over from getting his things. She looked over to him and forced a slight smile. That smile faded as her attention looked over towards Gunny after his long silence. She caught what he said and she bit her bottom lip. Her eyes sharply going over to Jack. She hadn't known the woman really at all. Only spoken to her slightly during the reception to her and Jack's wedding. Thana had been Ash's guest that evening. It was a surprise to the entire safezone known as Newnan.

Ash hadn't been really close to anyone since Alicia, even in passing. Yet some how Thana had managed to get through to him in a way others hadn't. Last she had seen of the woman was the day James was kicked out for murdering Richard. It had been a hard day for everyone. It was also the day Newnan fell. After that, she didn't know what happened. She hadn't seen any of them until that fateful night, in the rain, when she had spotted the Hordebuster on the road. Since then they had been pressing for this very location, Thana telling Ash to come here. Now they were there, and she wasn't.

Getting Jamie dressed quickly she handed him over to Jack and spoke quietly. "Я должен проверить Эша, это то, к чему меня готовил Виктор." She gave her husband a knowing look before kissing him lightly on the lips. Straightening up, she bit her bottom lip as she picked at hew nail bed. Walking over to Ash, the man that was like a brother to her after all these years and probably her husbands best friend. Not to mention he was Jamies god father. She gave him a look of understanding and sympathy. She was there to give him some comfort, but the look on her face was that she needed it to for some reason. "Ve talk?" It was a question but the look she gave him with her back to the rest of the group spoke volumes more.

Wayne Maldonado

Location: Camp Mexico Beach: Quarantine (W: Conference Room)
Skills: N/A

Wayne leaned back in his recliner and smirked towards Hank. Resting his hands behind his head he whistled to himself a bit as he waited for his bud to get back and then nodded. "Fuck yeah I did. No reason not to. I mean sure I could try to hide it but fuck man, you really think I could cover his ass up?" he asked as he pointed to nothing in the air before swatting again. "Stand a better fucking chance of keeping this chair and a full belly by just laying it all out on the table," he said as he motioned his hand across the air. Wayne was nuts, there was no denying that. He knew he was nuts. He had been told for years that the little blue fluffy unicorn he spoke to and saw constantly wasn't there. Part of him wanted to believe that but then again it was so real he didn't know what to believe. Maybe he was seeing things or maybe they just couldn't see enough.

Looking over as the three started to leave Wayne sat up slowly. Seemed something had gone down that he hadn't been paying attention to but the look on Gunny's face, or lack thereof really, made things in the room seem a lot heavier than they had been a few moments before. He watched as the red head with the baby kissed her man and walked over another guy. Her back was him and he couldn't hear what they were saying but hey the room was theirs now. At least as much as it could be with two armed guards standing post. "Fuck, I'm getting some coffee," he said as he slipped out of his recliner and wandered over to the remains of the food table. Pouring a cup of coffee he went over what was left. Not much and he had already grabbed some extra rolls earlier but it didn't seem that anyone else was rushing over so he grabbed some fritters and started walking around slowly as he sipped on his coffee. Popping one into his mouth and chewing some as he looked at Erica. Grinning at her and then Hadrian. "Hey there Sport," he said with a chuckle.

Titian sat there, rubbing the back of his head where the mask had been held in place, halfway listening to what was going on, halfway in his own little world. One could say he was thinking but then again his eyes didn't seem to relate that he was really doing anything but sitting there. Legs sprawled out before him, back resting against the wall. Dropping his hands into his lap he chuckled a bit. "Well ain't this a shit show," he mused. Granted his voice carried but it wasn't as if he was trying to be heard, or trying not to be heard either. He was just making a comment.

Looking over at Lord Bardolf when he asked Titian nodded slowly with a slight grin. "Shit I am. Why I came. Fucking invite said something about taking care of this shit. I was hoping to get this fuck moment over with but it seems ain't nothing easy. Should have stayed in the pub and got a drink," he said before glancing towards the four men who arrived after him. He watched them leave the room and then turned his attention back over to the man of the house. "I could do with some food though, so a meal sounds good. What happens after that? You got a cot for us? Or should I just find a spot on the floor? Not that it matters, I'm like a dog in that manner. I can pretty much lay down anywhere and get a dirt nap," he said with a bit of a chuckle.
