⚘ A Brief History
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I've been at this a long time and when I say a long time I mean a long long damn time. I started out with table top, ADnD, back in the 80's, then dived into others: Nightlife, Mage the Ascension, Shadow Run, HoL, etc. Moved onto Online in the 90's. I've been running various incarnations of a single RP group for twenty years now. Worked helping setting up, building, and/or admining/modding various RP forums over the years: Adventure Quest, Priston Tales, War Gods, etc. It's been a long road filled with ups and downs. I'm an evil GM, you've been warned.

Outside of RP, I am a mom. Yup, I've reproduced and there are little Lady A's running around plotting their own take over of the world. I am a published author and once upon a time an award winning poet. I've done a lot in my life. I haven't done as much as I would like. I've grown a lot. I have a lot more growing to do. I love to cook, baker by trade currently. I went to university and majored in Mathematics. I've programmed websites, worked as a model, worked as a 3d modeler. Shit, I even used to dance. And have been known to sing a bit. Jack of all trades. Master of like 3, lol.

⚘ Looking Inside
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is where I go into my personality. In the past I would normally make some self deprecating remark about how I am a bitch of a GM, pushing my rpers as hard as I push myself and so forth. Not anymore. People change, or perhaps they just come into their own. This can happen at any age. More than that it can happen several times over the course of your life as you discover and rediscover yourself. Everything happens for a reason, usually that reason is ones owns actions. Or inaction's. Right now, I am in a better place than I can remember being in the longest time. I am happy and at peace. I have no regrets. Maybe I should but I don't. I plan on keeping this peace I have found, I went far too long without it.

Currently I am enjoying several things. Some are things I have enjoyed most of my life: Coffee, chocolate, bacon, M*A*S*H. One isn't something I have enjoyed since I was seventeen: being clean and free of poisons in my system. It is beyond description and I love it: One-hundred and twenty days and counting. Music taste is shifting to more mood oriented than anything, strange I am finding a lot of newer Country I am enjoying and I have NEVER liked country. Watching things like Lark Rise to Candleford and being hooked to the point of reading the trilogy. Recently added yoga to my workouts and all I can say is, "Fuckmaste: the fucked up in me accepts the fucked up in you."

Well it seemed, to her at least, that Dr. Swamp had figured out how the Lord of the Manor had died. She wasn't exactly trying to pay too close of attention to the body but from the sound of things he had done what was asked of him. She didn't know how the man died and frankly right then she was just glad she was in the room with someone that she didn't suspect killed the man. In her mind there was no way he could have. He had been with her most of the evening, that or with Walnut apparently during the other incident. The one that lead up to him getting shot. During those times the Lord of the Manor hadn't been around. She had been around the Lord of the Manor as much as Swamp had and she knew she hadn't killed him. She doubt she would have the stomach to kill someone even if she had to, which she hoped it would never come to that.

Being in the room with an open body was bad enough. As Swamp asked for her signature, she quirked a brow. She had no idea why he needed it but she offered help, if this is what he thought was help so be it. Thing was, she had been trying to keep her distance from the body, for good reason. As she stepped over she couldn't take her eyes off the organs, the open body, the cracked bones, the dead man on the table, the blood, the.. God everything. Amaranthine started to turn green in the face. Trying to push the bubbling in her throat back down she reached out to sign the paper but started gagging. Dry heaving at first. Keep it together woman she thought to herself but it wasn't happening. She barely made it over to an open bucket before planting her head into it and it sounding like she was about to lose any breakfast or lunch she had had that day.

* Remember, roll request can be placed at the bottom of the post and results will be posted in the next update. Those in confinement - remember it is dark, so unless someone says something out loud you don't know what the others are doing. Unless you get a roll, you cannot move. (Seriously, it's dark, you gotta get a roll to take steps to see if you can avoid running into people, the walls, etc. Even those with low light attributes and skills need rolls, that only helps the roll, it doesn't make it an auto success.)

Quinton signed the paper and was about to hand it over to Amaranthine, glad this was over. "Yes, we might be able to arrange something. I will ask the Lady," he said dryly before his head snapped to the side. His brow perking up as as Amaranthine started to dry heave. It wasn't a pleasant sound, especially coming from her. The woman seemed to wear all her emotions and feelings on her sleeve. This included when she didn't feel well. Her dry heaving and gagging was making him gag just out of reflex and he wasn't a weak willed man. He had seen death and things much worse than this but that was how things went sometimes. When one person started, it could start a chain reaction and it didn't matter how well people did normally the lemming mentality took over. Covering his mouth he took a step back.

"You know what, this should do. Stay here, I'll see what I can do about finding something to settle her stomach," Quinton said before making a hasty exit from the room. Picking up a lantern as he went to light his way as he closed the door behind him. He would need the small light to get back to the stairs and make his way to the lower floors. There was a loud click to the door once it was sealed. He had obviously locked it, then there was a second click. He had no only locked the door knob but a second lock above it. He wasn't letting them get out.

Over in Confinement, Moss was trying to get over to a door or to find a way out. Perception can be a hard thing in the dark and one must go off instincts. This ends up being something based off wisdom this time. Now while he is trying to find a door or a way out he is finding it hard to get around the room. The darkness makes it hard. Now he bumps into the edge of the bed in the room but manages to stop himself instead of falling on top of it. Feeling his way around it, he will be able to find the west wall just behind the bed this round.

Darkness is never fun to try to get around in but some people do have a better time of it than others. Thing is, doesn't matter how used to something someone is, it still takes time and thinking. (Something that Titian might not always be the best at.) Then again, sometimes things just become muscle memory. Like taking it slow, not rushing things, having patience. Those things can help. Placing one hand up on the low ceiling, Titian reaches out in front of himself and steps towards slowly. One step at a time, making sure to keep his feet planted fully on the floor with each step and only sliding his boot forward slowly and quietly as he goes. He doesn't want to fall through some hole in the floor that could be there, or make too much noise and have attention being brought to him.

Normally he likes attention but right now, this feels more like work than it does a good time in some tavern with a drink in his hand. So big mouth keeps it quiet this round and keeps pushing forward. He knows he needs to get to the other side of the room, find another door, find a way out, at least from up here. He's figured out he isn't going in the best direction but he does know he is most likely headed in a direction that could help perhaps if he just keeps moving. The journey from one side of the room to the other is slow going but by the end of the round he has managed to find the other side and find a door knob. Turning it slowly, he finds this one is unlocked. They probably didn't bother with this side. Bracing himself he turned the knob some more. Doing what he could to be patient and not make any noise.

Nikki shrugged a bit as she blew a bubble with her gum and let it pop. Sucking the gum back into her mouth she chewed it a few times as she leaned against the pool table. "Mostly just work in supply with Auntie, when I ain't either skateboarding or swimming," she said as she waited for Hunter to finish up his shots or take the game. As he missed the eight ball she grinned. "Oh you done fucked up now," she giggled as she hopped around. Lining up a shot she put the last of her balls into a pocket before eying the eight ball. Yet she didn't take the shot just yet. She had leaned over and lined it up but stopped before looking up at him. "What am I gonna win if I make this shot?" she asked with a sly grin on her face.

Mizrahi wasn't paying attention to the game. He was just sitting there, having finished his meal and relaxing in a chair as he watched the door. Waiting for the other to return. He was pretty sure he knew what was going on. Thana needed rest but he knew she wasn't going to put anything off that she could go ahead and tend to. It was just how she was. Major stood at the door, watching the group. The Frenchman was still just sitting behind the bookshelf and wanting to be left alone. Things seemed to be pretty calm, even Wayne. The movie looked like it was a good idea for now. Tomorrow they would get the run down of what information they could be given and then final decisions would be made.

Once Thana was finished talking, Gunny nodded towards the group and stood back up. "Panama, go ahead and let them get back to the conference room. Commander, I will need you to review some files and give your opinion on final decisions come morning but do take the rest of the evening off to recoop," he said before holding out his hand and waiting for her to turn over her weapon. "I will have the paperwork delivered tomorrow at 0700 hours." After which Panama lead the group back to the conference room. Holding the door open for them when he got there and waiting for all of them to get back in. Panama would be on the overnight crew today since Major and Nikki had day so he was leaving as soon as everyone was back in conference. Gunny carrying out all the files that had been brought into briefing and returning them to admin until morning.

Thana Martin

Location: Camp Mexico Beach: Quarantine (W: Briefing -> Conference Room)
Skills: N/A

Thana looked over to her father and took her side arm, handing it over to him. She was fine with it. She knew she needed to relax a bit and get some rest and some food. She hadn't eaten yet, or in a while. As he told her she would be doing the final review after recommendations were filed she quirked a brow. It made sense, at least in some part. She did know some of these people. Either in passing or having traveled with them for a long time. It would not make sense not to take her opinion into consideration but she knew at the end of the day The General would make the final call. That was how it worked.

Stepping out from behind the table she shook her head towards Ash and leaned in. "Ash, you're a new recruit here and ain't no openin's fer promotions," she said in a whisper where only he could hear her. It was her way of reminding him of the first day in basic training, what happened, what was expected, and more importantly - they weren't needed here, so CMB wouldn't hurt if none of them remained. They had nothing new to offer that this camp didn't already have. Though that should have been clear by now even with the limited amount of the base they had seen. Food was fresh, electricity was there, fuel was enough to do long term runs, clothing was washed daily, in good condition, they had the resources to put people up for a week, enough medical to save her, enough to let her leave to search, to find out what happened to Newnan, to bring back bodies for burial. If anything, it should be more than clear that if the entire group in Quarantine left, the only one affected in CMB would be Thana and that would only be on a personal level. Sure more bodies would be a good thing to keep civilization going but it wasn't needed.

Following Panama, Thana made her way back to the Conference room with the others and looked around. She nodded towards Mizrahi before spotting that most were around the TV. That left another couch open that wasn't near it and she went towards it. Sitting down and letting out a fatigued breath. Looking back towards the door, she watched for Ash, hoping he would just come over and sit down with her. Even if they didn't talk about anything, which honestly she didn't want to do right then after everything, it would just be nice to curl up next to him for a while. There was a tired smile on her lips as she held her hand out him. She wasn't on duty now, so she didn't have to keep distance. No weapon meant she didn't have to have watching the others on her mind. She did need to talk to Thalia about Lola but that could wait a bit. At least until her mind calmed a bit after that large information dump between the two groups.

Tatiana Newnan

Location: Camp Mexico Beach: Quarantine (W: Briefing -> Conference Room)
Skills: N/A

Tatiana stood up and stretched a bit. That was a lot to take in but it was over with now. There was nothing to do about the past, one had to keep moving forward and she would. This place was set up and Jamie was well taken care of here. If she got in, she would do what she could to remain, if she didn't she would do what she had to make sure that Jamie stayed. This place was a better chance for her son than out there, even with her. She wondered if this was how women felt who had to give their children up for adoption. When they knew they couldn't give their child the best chance. Some would say that a child is always better with their mother but Tatiana didn't believe that. A child was always better off in a place they could thrive and this place seemed to be it.

Sure a little more structured than she was used to, especially after Newnan, but so what? Sometimes that was how it had to be.
It worked. Though she had to wonder about the cost. Specially what Thana had mentioned. Yet, once again, it wasn't mentioned that anyone there owed anything and the way this place ran and was about thing she was pretty sure that if the costs were being passed down to the former members of Newnan over all they would have been told. No, someone else had to cover the cost, or something else had to. Maybe they got enough from those runs searching to cover them. Maybe Thana was having to pay. Either way, not her problem. It might have been cold but her son was her only true concern. Her husband was second but he was grown man and could survive.

Walking back into Conference room she looked around. She was about to go get Jamie but Jamie was happily watching the movie with Wayne with others and seemed just fine. In fact Wayne seemed to be doing better. Instead she just wandered over to a chair and had a seat, keeping a loose eye on her son but mostly just letting him be with the crazy scary man that seemed to have a soft spot for kids. Hell, the place was peaceful right then, she wasn't going to upset it. She turned her head and noted that Froggy was still just sitting alone. Something was going on, but she wasn't going to get mixed up in it. If he had shit to work out, she would leave him to it. He could talk to her if he wanted but she wasn't opening that door on her own. Not when Quarantine was almost over.

Wayne Maldonado

Location: Camp Mexico Beach: Quarantine (W: Conference Room)
Skills: N/A

Wayne looked over towards Alexander and chuckled. "Little Kick Ass here is doing just fucking fine," he said as Jamie stood up in his lap and held onto Wayne's shoulders, bouncing his knees. The kid babbled and laughed, drooling a little. "Shit kid, yer fuckin' teething," he said as he pulled his shirt up and wiped the drool away. "Gonna start biting the shit out of people aren't you?" he chuckled as Jamie blew a raspberry and kept jumping. Kid seemed happy to keep doing that until he finally pulled his knees up and just let the full weight of his body crash into Wayne's crotch. It caused Wayne to grunt, his eyes looking like they were going to pop out of his head. "That's fine kid, not like I'm using them right now anyways," he grunted as Jamie laughed.

Jamie clapped his hands and rested back, yawning slightly. Wayne let out a little sigh and just held the kid, patting him slightly as Jamie finally started to calm down as the others came back into the room. Jamie pulled at Waynes shirt slightly, starting to chew on it but Wayne let him be. Kids put shit in their mouth and a clean t-shirt was nothing to worry about. At least it was soaking up all the drool from the kids mouth. That was a good thing as far as he was concerned. And the kid wasn't crying in pain. Though it did make him wonder just what this place would give a teething kid. Would they have children's pain killer or would they just do what parents did for centuries, rub booze on the gums. Not only did that take away the pain but it knocked the kid out for a few hours so it was win win.

New York, New York, USA: November 5th, 1943

Ben nodded. "Fair enough, maybe once we get there if there's time I can teach ya," he offered to her. It was probably a good idea. The roads were not the best in this day and age and it was easy to get stuck even if you knew exactly what you were doing. Narrow tires got stuck in the dirt if it was too worn, there was no power steering so even keeping a truck on the road could be a work out on the arms if you weren't used to it. Not that Ben didn't think Faith could handle it but any new thing caused even the most fit to fatigue just from not being used to the movement. Plus he figured she had enough on her mind and needed to be well rested, not even more stressed when they got there.

Two more days passed and they finally were able to see the skyline for New York. The main part of the Carnivale found a place down by the river to set up by evening. Once night time came Siduri finally came out of her trailer. "Let us go find Miss Babylon," she said as she came over to the truck and looked at Ben and Faith.

"Take it you know where she is," Ben said as he climbed out of the truck and over to the passenger door to open it for her.

"One of two places, we will check her establishment firs but before we do, it would perhaps be best if Miss Masters were to change. How would you feel about putting on a nice dress fitting for today?" she asked Faith as she held out her hand to her. "After five days I would think you would be ready for a change and perhaps the chance to really get cleaned up first."

Babylon Fortress, Cairo, Egypt: October 6th, 1924

Over in Egypt and back in time, things were panning out a bit for Sophia. Trying to sense things was hard but Peter had a certain smell to him now, something burnt. It was like a blood hound tracking a scent with her sense acuity. Closing her eyes she would be able to follow the scent to its origin, the fire where his body was burned. It was like a map of scent, though in colors in her mind. It was hard to weed out the over all smell of the city with so much going on but after a little while she would be pretty sure that if she followed it she could lead them to where Peter was attacked before George had brought him back to the plantation.

Gilbert isn't doing too bad either. He knows this fortress, it would have been where he first met Miss Babylon many centuries ago. He would know this fort, its strengths and weaknesses, and even where a few places were that were hidden from the modern world. Ways to get under the city perhaps if certain tunnels were still intact. Cities like Egypt didn't destroy what used to be, the sands filled in the cracks and they built on top of it, so there was a good chance that perhaps if they were to find a tunnel intact they could use it to traverse the city without being in the middle of crowds.

Peter agreed. "There was a time when I found many things in this world strange, now the normal seems out of place and the strange seems comforting." Moving as quickly as he could, they made their way away from the Fort itself and into Cairo proper. James had a good eye but nothing seemed really out of place for the place or the time they were in. "The bazaar will be the best place," he said as he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his wallet. Thankfully it was still intact and there was local currency in it. If they had to steal they would but it would make things simpler if he could just pay for what they needed. Granted, weapons, that would take theft most likely and he knew just where to rob. He just hoped his uncle would forgive him.
>TMW you know some just refuse to listen.

Boat (Infirmary): "Yeah, I am seeing it as well and I wish we would get a break, this is getting more than odd," the Captain said. Well while one person is crapping out when it comes to observation, Mosi is nailing it. This haze is odd but there is remembrance from the occult that there was talk of those being able to bring others back from the dead and it creating a haze in the area where the dead were being raised. It is the veil between this life and the next blending together. But it is only supposed to be in a small area, just where the spell is cast and takes many artifacts to do it. Yet, this is just a room and no one is trying to cast any black magic obviously. This has to be something different, or at least on a much grander scale.

Boat (Thief's? Room): As Reddish is looking around, he spots something shiny under the back side of the basin. Reaching under it, he will feel something taped to the bottom. Pulling it away, there is a pocket watch there. Oh yes, Reddish just found Josephine's Grandfathers pocket watch! Jackpot! Sadly as he stands back up he hits the back of his head against the basin and knocks himself cold. Reddish is out for this round, will awaken at the end of the round.

Vera sat there and leaned back against the wall, holding her head a bit and trying to listen to anything happening in the hallway. It seemed quiet out there. When she heard the banging sound, her head turned sharply and she spotted Reddish out cold on the floor. "Oh dear!" she yelled as she scrambled on the floor, staying on all fours as she crawled over to the man. He seemed okay, other than being knocked out cold. A little bump on his head but he was alive and breathing. She started to try to shake him, hoping he would wake up. While Josephine isn't having any luck finding her grandfathers watch (as Reddish just found it), looking around and searching, she does find Vera's journal. That's good.

Athribis (Underground): Sadly Mahendra isn't able to get any more information at this time from what he is looking at or able to add to it. As far as Richard goes, I just don't have it in me to have him set his arm back on fire with that crit fail roll. But yeah, his stealth is shit and he trips and falls, nearly falling into the hole that opened up and took Belladonna - he is able to keep from falling into it but everyone down in the underground just heard that and can see him now. Nora is having a lot of luck when it comes to figuring this out. The Ancient Egyptians used math a lot to plan out their tombs and she is pretty sure she knows a good route to take that will lead them further into the tomb and place them under where Belladonna went into the hole that opened up in the ground. She is also figuring out where there could be a few traps, with a little more luck they should be able to avoid them. While Faye cannot hear what the others are saying, she is able to stay hidden in the shadows and out of sight. It will be up to her if she wants to reveal her presence now that Richard as gotten their attention on them.

Scotland

On The Road (Heading Towards Gretna Green): Things for the girls in the carriage are going as smooth as one could hope for right now. The driver does not like the fact that there is a haze going on but once they hit the open road outside of town and are actually heading towards Gretna Green, he is a bit better. If only for the fact he isn't having to dodge people in the street. The road is bumpy of course, a little bit more since the driver seems to be pushing the horses a bit, trying to get there as quickly as possible. Hopefully things will stay in tact until the girls get there. Both girls are bouncing around a lot in the carriage.

Gretna Green: Veta wrapped her arm around Constantin's waist and nodded. "Da, center of town. Find Vlad," she said as she drew her sword with her free hand. She didn't know what was going on but she did't like it. Granted neither did anyone from the way the people in the streets were panicking. She couldn't blame them. Most people these days were not trained for Soulless. That is if this was Soulless causing this. Even if it wasn't, being trained was a good thing in any day and age in her book. It meant you were prepared to defend yourself at least in some way. At least the streets were starting to clear as people were trying to get into businesses and houses.

Ny looked over towards Vlad and grinned. "I am Ny," he said before looking at poor Ludwig. "Oh poor child, his mentor will weep," he added and started towards the church. Using his walking cane to push people out of the way as to clear a path for the Russian. "You Russians, so colorful, really very delightful," he said as he kept moving forward.

While Ny was smiling, Millicent was doing anything but. Her face was contorted in horror as she moved over towards William and was finally able to get to him. "Yes, holy ground," she said as her hand came down and her fingers laced with his. With the crowds, the way things were going, and her own fear she didn't want to make it easy to get separated from him. Rutherford was standing there, reaching up and touching his face. He could feel it.

"Milli, I won't hurt you, I promise!" he called out as he took a step towards her, the crowds seeing him and trying to get away from him and the haze at the same time. Millicent was not believing him. Pulling herself closer to William and tugging on William to move with her away from the man. She didn't know where the church was, but anywhere was better than in the direction of the monster that was forming in front of her. Her head spinning around, she spotted Vlad taking the man off the horse and started tugging William in that direction. Sooner they could get over towards someone that didn't look like a creature from the depths of hell the better.

Grimm, Indiana (Entering Grimm): Adelaide looked over towards Robert and shook her head. "Don't think it's the coffee, I ain't ever had enough to do this to my vision," she admitted as they entered the town. The haze was everywhere and people were panicking the streets and running off. This was not good. For once she was glad she grew up in a small town. If this was happening everywhere, people were going to be really fucking things up in big towns like Chicago or Justice. There was also smoke in the town, not thick but looked like it blew in from somewhere else close. And the smell of smoke hung in the air. "Let's just get to the Tinders, maybe they know something," she added as she turned and dodge a family in the street. "Fuck!" she yelled as she kept going, just glad she didn't hit anyone.

Grimm, Indiana (Tinder House): Updating next round.

Grimm, Indiana (Asylum Sub-basement): Alicia stopped dead in her tracks and looked at Riley wide eyed. "I don't know you so I should trust ya? Wow, never raise kids. Gonna tell them to get in the black van with stranger handing out candy," she laughed before she kept on her way. Going over to Priya she took a deep breath. "Fuck it, let me try," she said. She tried giving it a good hard kick just below the door knob. the first time, it didn't budge. "Aww hell no, open you fucking dick weed door," she yelled as she kicked it again and it slammed open. The door knob on the back side of the door embedding in the cinder block wall of the stair well. "Come on," she added as she kept moving and started running up the stairs. They were worn and rickety. Hold a rail, this shit looks like it'll give," she yelled as she sprinted up the stairs. The woman's eyes half glazed over as she ran. "Papi, stairs," she muttered to herself, hoping she could connect to him again while she was moving.

Grimm, Indiana (The Asylum - Main Floor): Roy looked over towards Cecily and nodded. "Yeah, I ain't getting into any elevator in this fuckin' joint even if I did think they worked," he said. This place was too much. "All this shit, yeah, I'm just picturing getting sawed in half trying to get out of an elevator stuck between floors," he added. With the way things were going, that couldn't have been far from the truth. Hell, this place probably once held a girl that was locked away and tortured by two women for shits and giggles. Okay, maybe not shits and giggles but to knock some sense into her only to knock some sense out of her before she was taken to the end of the universe. Nah, shit like that didn't really happen. Did it?

Cecily is able to read the map no problem and locate a stairwell just off to the right a few doors down. Sadly the door is jammed right now. How, not sure. Could be locked, could just be stuck due to age. Ain't opening right now though.

Grimm, Indiana (On Way To Asylum): Caesar and Keystone will arrive at the asylum this round. The haze is still going strong. Caesar is going to hear in his head Alicia telling him stairs. Inside the Asylum it looks run down like it hasn't been used in years and when they get there they will hear Cecily and Roy - mostly Roy yelling about avoiding the fucking elevator.

Whatever she was doing, it seemed to be working for the man. At least it seemed to be in her eyes. What he was really doing was a guess to her. This wasn't something that she really knew anything about. The human body wasn't exactly something that got her attention, at least not the insides. Though the playing seemed to help her as well. It was at least keeping her focused on something other than the cracking of bones and slicing of flesh, and organs. Oh god, organs. Sure she had seen bodies before, sure she had seen animals before but this was different. This was a body on a table being cut open to figure things out, not an animal being cleaned to eat. This was a person. Okay, keep playing, don't throw up. Focus on the music. Was she going green in the face?

Gasping as the lights went out the music stopped suddenly. She both scared that the lights suddenly went dark and relieved that she could no longer see the body. She followed the instructions of Quinton and didn't move, just waiting. Him lighting a lamp helped but the shadows did make things look a bit off, at least it wasn't bright anymore so the details weren't as obvious from where she was standing. She hoped that it was enough for the doctor to continue what he was doing. From the sounds of it, he was making progress or figuring something out. She stayed where she was, letting him do his work and really not wanting to trip over something and perhaps taking a nose dive into the open carcass of the Lord Of The Manor. That would NOT have been a good time, not that any of this evening minus a very select moments had been. She was starting to a feel a bit sick and turning a tad green in her face.

* Okay, this has been working well in other Rps, so if you need a roll you can place it at the end of your post or your can PM me the roll request. Only 1 or the other for now until we establish if this helps and works here.

With the lights out, the heat they were giving is no more. Now there is still some heat rising from the floors below but as neither the Confinement Room or the Laboratory have fireplaces, it is starting to cool quickly in the rooms. A few more rounds and it is going to get cold, at least the characters will figure this at the rate the temperature is dropping so far.

Right now, in the Confinement room, it is dark. No light coming in at first. Now that your eyes are having time to adjust - those who have low light associated skills are being able to pick up a little - thanks to the tiniest bit of light coming in from under the north door where Titian had been standing by earlier. (This is not seen by anyone without a low light type skill as of yet. Their eyes adjust faster. So most are in total darkness currently still.) The music that was coming in from elsewhere is gone. As people are speaking and such, you are unable to hear anything else right now outside of the room. Yet, as of right now, no one has come to check on those of you in confinement.

Over in the Laboratory, you have some light thanks to Quinton lighting a lamp. He is making his way around the room, lighting more. He doesn't look like he is going to leave Swamp and Amaranthine alone in the room even with the lights and gas going out. Lighting more lamps and bringing one over to the table where Swamp was working. He tilted his head to the side. "Yeah, go ahead, find out whatever you can," he said to the man before looking over at Amaranthine, she wasn't looking too good to him. "You alright?" he asked.

Whatever plans that Titian had, well they went out the window. Granted, it really like he had a plan. He was more of the type to just act before thinking. Then again, thinking half the time didn't really help him. Just roll with it, rollability. That was what he had to do. People were getting hostile in the other room, pulling weapons, getting worked up: including him. Yeah, exit, stage left when the chance presented itself and that was what he did. Stepping over to the windows he looked out and spotted the Grand Balcony. That must have been where he spotted that pale thing above when they first pulled up to the front. How the hell did whoever it was get the hell out there on the balcony? The windows were sealed and there was no door from what he could tell.

Looking left and looking right, he needed to keep moving. Sure, it would have been a great idea to go find Swamp and Amaranthine but apparently his sense of direction wasn't working right then and he headed towards Abandoned Wing side of the Attic floor instead of the Laboratory Side. The door was open to the next room and he walked in. Empty it looked like, no windows, no light save for what was coming in from the windows in the room he just exited. He had to duck down, like he had in the confinement room, as the ceiling was only 6' and he was taller than that. Stopping he waited to see if his eyes would adjust some so he could see. Reaching into his pocket he pulled something out of it and listened.

Nikki looked over towards Hunter and chuckled, it seemed she wasn't the only one that had a nickname for a specific reason but then again, she knew the back story to most of CMB's call signs, so it made sense. Yet she had no idea who Greyjoy was or what book the guy was talking about. "Yeah, no clue what that ones about. Maybe you'll get something new here," she said as she leaned against the edge of the pool table. As far as the food went she couldn't remember. MRE's weren't eaten alot anymore around CMB. They had a good food supply and so real food was the day to day around here. They had moved past a lot of old canned goods anymore, finding ways to survive and eat without having to rely on what the world had left behind.

Watching him, he seemed nervous but she couldn't be sure about that. She hadn't really spent a lot of time around Gunny or Major so hadn't learned the art of reading people. Those two, they could ready people like a book just by looking at them. They were like walking human lie detectors. Most of her time since getting to CMB had been around Maddog. That was until Thana showed up. She had spent a lot of time watching that woman and then talking to her once she started training to leave to go search for people. She liked the woman, seemed that Thana was a bit of a problem child when she was younger. It was hard for her to believe at first but as Thana opened up and spoke about her past it made sense.

"Oh I see, well seems your charms aren't working on the table right now. Or maybe it just thinks I'm cuter than you," she said before sticking her tongue out at him. Walking around the pool table she looked for a shot. Leaning over she took a shot and sank a ball. She only had one left but didn't make the next shot. "Fuck me!" she grumbled before giving a shrug. Looking over towards the door, she noticed Panama coming in and changing out people. Some came back, some left. Didn't seem to concern her much, other than taking note of who left and who remained. The mood at least seemed to be improving, well safe for the Frenchman in the corner avoiding everyone and everything.

Back in briefing, Panama just leaned back against the wall and Gunny sat there, waiting for Thana to take control of this part. This was not something that had been CMB's doing. Well they had carried it out but it was because of her that they did, so it was fitting for her to be the one to deliver the information to them. Hopefully it would do some good, especially after everything that had happened to make this soon to be briefing possible. Macsen kept watching Ash from time to time. Yeah, he might have been the second in command and a Marine, but he was also a father. Thana hadn't spoken a lot about Ash to her father, her grandfather knew the whole story. All he knew was that Ash was important to her and well, any father worth his salt kept an eye on the man looking all goo-goo eyed at his daughter.

Thana stood up slowly and took a deep breath. While Panama was changing out who was there, Gunny left the room and returned with a beaten up file box and set it on the table, sliding it over to his daughter before taking a seat once again. This was going to be a hell of an information dump on the former residents of Newnan and she knew it. She was tired, it had already been a long day and it was only gearing up to be even longer. The woman wanted to and needed to sleep. It had been days. Yet, work came first. Clearing her throat she opened the box of files and pulled out a stack. Rubber-banded together. They didn't look like the clean crisp ones that had been seen in the hands of others in CMB. They looked more worn.

"Durin' the course of searchin' for Thalia Carmichael, Alexander Polawski, Beatrice Decker, and Emmanuel Newman, what will be henceforth known as the Eden Squad, a plan was made. Startin' at their last known location and move South towards here. After which they were to move North, retracin' our steps back to Peachtree City and eventually Newnan in case it was deemed a safer direction of travel by Ms. Decker, who was left in charge." Sadly, over the course of their they had never found the others but even knowing where someone had been rarely meant they would find them. In the dense woods of Georgia and Florida it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Even when the world was right, it was not uncommon for someone to go missing and not be found until after they were long dead, only miles from home, and to be identified with dental records.

"While CMB is well staffed and equipped, there is a cost for such an extensive search. Arrangements were made to offset these." No one did anything for free, not when there was a community to take care of and Thana knew this. Thana did not explain what the arrangements were. "When Extraction Team 1 reached Newnan, it was sufficiently abandoned. The amount of destruction was absolute." Reaching into the box she pulled out another file and stepped out from behind the table. Walking over to Ash, she handed it over to him. "Within this folder is photographic evidence. While they are there for your inspection, the images are hard to view. Even for one such as me that was a member of the community for only a short period of time." Inside was images of Newnan taken from above and on the ground, so many were dead in the streets and turned, many pinned down by rubble. It would not be easy for any former member of Newnan to see those they lived along side to see. Walking back to the table she continued. "Only a few houses remained and part of what was known as the Franklin Section."

Taking a breath she looked down at the reports in front of her, still not touching the stack she had originally taken out. "Supplies from this location were few and far between but what we did acquire was knowledge. Captain Holloway's home was only partially destroyed and within it we were able to recover records of Newnan: includin' agricultural notes left behind by James Grady, self written engineerin' records of the Hordebuster, personnel records, duty rosters, prisoner treatment, new member detainment, procedures, incident reports, and Lt. Col. McCormick's records," she informed the group. Thana looked at the stack of older files and then looked to Ash. CMB knew Newnan now. Newnan's past was now CMB's past as well. "Yet, to obtain these, took time. The air was polluted and causin' issues. Why? We did not know at the time but samples were taken and brought back. Air. Soil. Combined with records from a local library, analysis was done." Thana's background was in Botany this was part of what she did whens he was in the Navy before the world fell.

Pulling out a sheet of paper from a file before her Thana double checked what she was about to say before she continued. "We now know why Newnan fell." Thana looked towards Ash. "The air and soil was contaminated. The air was heavy with natural gas that was not only highly explosive but also caused such side effects as headaches, nausea, and hallucinations." Thana stopped and took a breath. She had heard things that she did not think she should have while in Newnan. Ash himself had spoken of seeing things that were not there. When the results came in, they made sense to her on many levels. "Soil samples revealed high levels limestone. And examination of the pipes below Newnan that were exposed due to the destruction revealed heavy wear that was brought on by years of use. It was concluded after heavy analysis that the Safezone formerly known as Newnan came to an end because of the limestone below the city finally givin' away. Leaks of natural gas from cracks in pipes caused other issues. The sudden onset of the large sink whole that took the town was inevitable. Even if the world had never incurred a breakout, Newnan would still have fallen to time. The winter storm of 2011 was just a catalyst. It was, for lack of a better term, an act of god. A natural disaster."

Thana paused for a moment before continuing. "There was nothin' that could have been done to prevent or minimize the damage and loss of life that was incurred. This was no one's fault."

Swallowing slightly she turned her attention back to the rest in the room. "Extraction Team 1, alongside Supply Team Alpha, did what they could to put to rest the resident of Newnan that were still trapped." In other words, those that had died and turned were finished off so they would no longer be Walkers. "During the time in and around Newnan and Peachtree City, CMB recovered as many supplies as possible, usin' a Newnan Bugout Map and my personal knowledge. Four bodies were recovered on the second trip to these locations on my request. James Grady, Ryan O'Reily, Gavin Comfort, and Lola Holler. They were laid to rest with honors in the CMB cemetery outside of our walls here and you may visit them at the end of Quarantine if you should wish to pay your respects." While Thalia had to be lead out and back to Conference, Thana would make sure she knew that Lola was close, she figured her friend would want to say good bye to the Crazy Tank Lady. They had seemed close.

Letting out a long breath, Thana sat back down and let that all sink in for now. She couldn't bring Newnan back, or the lives that were lost. No one could. Her eyes trailed over to Ash, she hoped at least now they would get some closure. It was the best she could do for them.

Tatiana Newnan

Tatiana looked over towards Jack and giggled, dancing along with him. He was a goofball and there was nothing that was ever going to change that. Sure he was a bit more, for lack of a better term, dark these days but who wasn't? They all had been through some shit over the past years. Yet, at least now, he was starting to show a bit more of the old Jack that had drawn her to him in the first place, it was his silliness that was a large part of why she had fallen in love with the man in the first place. His ability to smile and just be happy even during the bad times. It seemed naive at first but it was sweet and she came to find out that it was very needed. Sure, if everyone was like Jack people would go nuts, but a person here or there like that was good for everyone.

As Panama came in and called their names, she nodded. She was going to ask Wayne to watch Jamie but it seemed that Jack was ahead of her on this one. Worked for her. She smiled slightly and left with the others and headed over towards Briefing. Taking a seat by Jack and looking up at the front of the room where Thana was. Then came the information dump. That was a lot to take in. A lot. Tatiana heard there was a cost for this but it didn't seem that Thana was telling them they were going to have to pay for this. It did make her feel a bit better that the ones that had died had been put down and that at least some of them were here. A grave was good. It at least gave some people a chance to say goodbye. Three she either didn't know or hadn't bee close to but James. That one hit home. She would go say goodbye to him. Looking out of the corner of her eye towards Ash, she figured he would as well. They had been close, like brothers.

Wayne let Jamie curl up to him and grinned. "I got the little ass kicker, no worries," he said towards Jack as him and Tatiana left for whatever the hell was going on. He wasn't really thinking if another group would be taken. All these people seemed to have some connection to Thana. He didn't. Other than thinking she was hot when he saw the video tape but after Ash's coming back from his interview, yeah, she was claimed. His head rolled slightly as he looked over towards Hank and shrugged. "Hey, gonna have to teach the kid how to fish," he said with a broad smile. He actually wasn't swatting at anything with Jamie in his lap. Normally he was a lot but when he was focused on the kid, it seemed to go away. Not that his eyes didn't dart to places in the room where no one was but that was about it.

Turning his attention back to Jamie, he watched the kid. Making sure he was in his lap. Jamie was cool just sitting there snuggled up to his Uncle Wayne. It worked for Wayne. He too had been a dad at one point in his life. He knew how to take care of a kid and Jamie seemed to have a calming effect on deranged man. The movie played on and Wayne would sit there pointing things out to him while Jamie babbled and grinned, giggling from time to time. It was odd to see a man who usually ran right into a fight with walkers or off into the woods to have private time being this oddly calm fatherly figure but hey, babies could turn the biggest brutes into babbling morons. Old saying went - If a two year old hands you a toy phone, you say hello! NO matter how badass you were.

Destrehan, Louisiana, USA: November 3rd, 1943

Ben nodded as he drove. He wasn't going to push her, the girl seemed to have a lot going on and he couldn't blame her for not just opening up like a book. He was very much the same way. Saying the bare minimal that was needed without much more. At least until he really got to know someone but even then he could be rather closed off. It was just who he was and it was added to by the fact of what he had already been through in his life since he joined the Carnivale. Not that the Carnivale was to blame. With or without them, he would have gone through much of what he had. Without them, he most likely would not have made it this far.

It was going to be a slow trek to New York but all things considered, Siduri had decided they would take the mortal route. The Haze was still there. Each day they would drive from early morning until the sun started to set. Setting up for over night and letting people eat and sleep. Ben let Faith have the cab of the truck and he would crawl under the truck and lay on the ground to sleep. It was odd for someone that wasn't used to it but it seemed that many of the Carnivale folk did this, it was quick, kept them out of the elements, and they were used to no or minimal mattresses. By the end of the third day they were at least up in Kentucky, over halfway there and closing in on New York. They could be there as early as tomorrow, but most likely it would be two more days.

"Holding up alright?" Ben asked as he turned off the truck and rubbed the back of his neck. "Hey, you want drive some tomorrow? I mean, if you know how to drive," he said. He wasn't poking fun or anything at the woman. An older truck with a stick shift was something very different than even modern stick transmissions.

Babylon Fortress, Cairo, Egypt: October 6th, 1924

Once everyone was through the portal did close. It wouldn't be maintained as a constant portal. This was different. Usually Gio was able to set a portal and close it when he was ready. Did this mean that the rest of the Enumerators powers were more limited? A temporary thing instead of a constant one? Either way, it did at least mean that they might not want to depend on their powers as much and not risk as much as one might normally would. At least until they really needed it. The sun was still in the sky. It was probably early afternoon, or mid morning. It was hard to tell and watches were not set. Hopefully Gio could determine. The Emendators would be able to feel the pull of one of theirs. She wasn't exactly close but she was in this time and within the country at least. It was a start. Andromeda, trying to figure things out, is going to remember an old tale from lore, one she can't remember which story but something about the resurrection of the dead, pulling souls from the midway and altering their courses. There are many tales like that in history and it is never a good thing. The number 12 coming into play a lot as she thinks on it but not sure why that number is important right now.

Peter looked over towards Sophia at the suggestion that she use her powers to determine if she could hear anything. It was a good idea. He nodded towards it. "Right smashing idea, if anything, no news might be good news," he said before glancing over towards James. The man wasn't wrong. His clothing would be close enough for now. At least for a servant, even if he didn't like the idea of playing the indentured servants or slaves master but they really didn't have many options and Peter did need to see what he could do about finding attire that wouldn't attract attention to the others so they could move freely among the locals.

"Yes, let us go, quickly. I know there were strange things happening here before I died. A small group was being branded by some force and they were going to be going north to a dig site. I wonder if they are connected. Anything is possible at this time," he said before motioning towards James. "We will be as quick as possible. If you must leave, do leave word, anything happens, let this be where we meet back up," he said before starting to walk off. The cane was doing the job allowing him to move quicker. Peter wasn't helpless but he wasn't up to full game. He hadn't been since the first time he died.
