Also, if you want Reathos to mass annihilate Galbar, you just need to do 2 very important things: 1. Show that Slough's life is too naturally flawed, and life must start over again 2. Show the the Hain, despite being sentient, have no place in Fate's plan. Thus they must be removed.
Give arguments for both things, and you will have yourself a very angry Death God willing to sweep life from Galbar.

But as official explination, Reathos sees the world rather bleak as you may imagine. He also doesn't fully 'understand' the cycle and each little detail. Though publicly he will claim he does. Maybe he could be proven wrong. But as of now he is bend on the preservation of the last part of the cycle. And a flower, if it's red or yellow, dies when winter comes.
Reathos calmly watched as the goddess of stories started looking unwell. But inwards, he was thinking. Was it his deadly presence that was having this effect on her? Would other gods react in the same way? So many questions the events generated. Yet despite the fact that he started questioning the consequences of his existence, he did listen to what she said. And what she said, was almost educational to him. What if indeed one day he would have to take the life of all his Heraktati? He was their Alpha. But could he truly be their complete Omega? They were his creations, but a balance had to remain. Maybe he should intervene when the Heraktati grew weak. But wouldn’t that break their fated path? Maybe the divine intervention in the species’ path could be Fated too. These thoughts made him ponder greatly upon the question when something was Fated and when it was not.
“Your…master, nor you, have answered my question.” Reathos stated, in a rather cold, factual way. “Appreciation is for beings that no longer need to survive. The color of a flower has no impact on its survival. It is purely aesthetic. It doesn’t impact their cycle.” But he pondered upon the counter question from the white Avatar. “Your…creator seemed ill of a sudden. I have a fear that it might be my presence. I tend to sap creatures from their life force, unwillingly though. I do not know if this affects you, or Illunabar.” In his crow form, he flew up to a nearby tree. “All trees, and all plants wither and die when the nights are long, the days short and the cold has come. But not this tree. I bless it, that they may forever remain green. Through time.”
And thus it came to pass. The Eenal Tree was made. Its leaves had a long midrib but with small side veins. Both the bark and the inner wood became nearly unnaturally dark. The tree would keep its leaves for the entire year around, yet sometimes some would fall and almost immediately rot away. Though what Reathos, as a child-god, did not realize he did, was making the leaves deadly. The way it survived was by turning its nutrient into a kind of substance that had a very low freeze point. Thus it could easily flow even during the winter. But the substance was also extremely poisonous, and stored in the leaves.
But then, an unexpected ‘wave’ of energy flowed through Reathos. Suddenly all colors seemed brighter, all smells sharper and he could feel the very texture of the now dying bark of the Evergreen Tree below him. “Forgive me, White One. But I sense an event fated, and I have been waiting very long for it.” With that, the murder of crows flew up and circled above the Deepwoods. More and more crows gathered. Not all crows in existence though. About 1 out of 50 crows each heeded the shrieking call of Reathos’ bird form. When the murder was sufficiently large, Reathos cursed each and every crow. He cursed them with the Lesser Sight of Reathos. Which served a dual purpose. The every eyes themselves would see the True Name of all sentient, living beings. No matter what magic one would use, or physical shifting one would dare, their True Name could never be changed. For it is part of their very essence: their soul. The second part of the curse was far more invasive. Reathos could ‘enter’ the bird’s mind and see what it saw, fly where he wanted and stay where he desired to remain.
After casting the curse, which was visually seen as a bright green flash coming from the middle of the murder, all birds spread over the land. The curse did one more thing. The birds would search death till they met their end. Then their children would take on the curse and so on. From that day forward, almost always a crow would be nearby when a being dies.

I see nothing wrong with the tree idea. Some ambitious mortals might appreciate having poison growing on trees, just waiting to be used.
As in for the crows, has any god even made carrion birds yet? If not, Reathos could and I see no problem with the crows being his spies. It would be interesting for necromancers and the like to fear crows and try to avoid gaining the birds' attention at all costs, and maybe for normal people to keep the birds in cages so as to ward off the undead.
*Tree, as in singular, growing actually near the rose bush of Illunabar. It would be a little to exploitable if there were an entire breed of it. But still it would be the most potent poison ever so I still think certain heroes might want to go ahead and still take advantage of it.
@Legion02Do you mean you'd level up as a result of the Hain dying, or do you mean you'd spend might to level up because the Hain will now be dying?
Also I love your poison idea. Do you mind if the leaves are tied with occult magic? I could see them being specialised herbs for death-magic.
Reathos will feel the first sentient creatures dying, and level up because of it. But it will still cost him 4 Might to level up. Don't worry, I'm not planning to break any rules. But I just thought that it would be fitting moment to level.
I guess, concidering the nature of the Occult magic, that it would be okay to use them. Just don't do any ridiculous things with it please. (The leaves for example cannot bring people back from the dead. Just like all things Reathos, they are meant for dead and killing and do that and only that very good)
Would you mind that I made 1 really tree that NEVER fully withers and dies (IE it's forever green) but its leaves are highly poisonous (not Reathos' intend but he's still a child god). It would be a gift to Illunabar cause he thinks she fell sick because of his deadly aura. (would cost 1 FP I guess)
Also he would level up (because the first sentient beings would start dying (The Hain)) and use 1 might to curse 1/50th of the crow population. The curse would be rather simple, crows' eyes see the True Name (a part from the Soul) from every sentient being. Reathos would also be able to invade the mind of a crow (making them his little spy 'birdies') and finally the curse would mean that these crows would search dying and death. Thus almost always when a sentient being dies, a crow would be getting closer to it or it is very nearby.
Any thoughts? I don't want to do anything overpowered or anything. I just thought that the idea of a poison tree gift and death's witness birds would be cool.
Was picture-huntign and stumbled across something that you might really like for Reathos. It doesn't match your description quite perfectly, but this is one of the best paintings I've ever seen.

To add on this martial skill would reasonably be an important skill given their warlike neighbors. In fact, the proximity of warlike pagans would even attract the faithful of other lands (See Knights/Kuman) so you're not wrong on the better fighters thing. (Hell chapter houses for Knight orders springing up would not be out of place, similar to the tectonic knights origins)
Anyway, the Border states would be most experienced in dealing with the northern tribes yes.
I'm alright with weapons and armor be exports, though given you proximity to the tribes one might think you'd still want those as imports. (Unless you plan on mostly trading those to your neighbours on either side.)
If no other player get's around to it, I'll be making an NPC Merchant guild that would be happy to set up shop in your nation to secure the ore trade there. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Just to keep stuff interesting, and fueled by the trade between Growi, GreviousKhan and Abefroeman, my guys could do some trading in the northern lands. Probably mostly very small shops in major Nothern Cities.
