Callie made a fair point. The changes were probably strange. Would they feel it immediately? Probably. Callie hinted at that so far. Alexis, right now, felt an equal amount of relief and worry. She was still very worried for her classmates. That feeling wouldn’t go away easy. But she also felt relieved, deep inside. It was a feeling she was a little ashamed of. Callie made her feel good about being a warlock. But in school, she didn’t have Callie around. In fact, in the last few months she felt like a true outcast. Completely alone because of who she was. Now that was changing. An entire group, no a pack, had changed. She wouldn’t be alone anymore. But for that to happen, people had to suffer. That was why she was a little ashamed of the thought. Which she wasn’t about to share with Callie. She trusted the Witch, but she still didn’t want to be judged.

The girl was rather happy Callie would be there with her when she introduced herself as a warlock. She wondered how that would come over to the others. Some would be surprised, right? Then again, maybe not? If werewolves and mermaids exist, they’d probably guess there is a whole lot more out there. Still, a warlock was kind of a big step. Of course, she’d have to prove it. Maybe the light orb she summoned last night would work? But that magic only worked with lunar energy. Either stored in her crystals, which were now empty, or from the moon directly. Maybe some leyline magic? But what spell?

“Defense spells?” the little warlock began to ponder upon those kind of spells. She had a few offensive spells. Like the wind-blast infused in the hawk’s skull. She had a few other things. For a moment she wanted to tell Callie about her other bone-pendants. They weren’t like the hawk skull. Some were just small bones bound and engraved with certain markings. Dominating the leaves and small branches. “Can you teach me to control my air blast?” she asked carefully. The hawk skull spell felt like a rather dangerous topic. Considering that it was apparently very close to black magic. But as she asked, she realized something.

She wasn’t very good at casting offensive spells. The light orb at night was easy enough. In fact, it almost came instinctively to her. Like she always knew how to make it. She didn’t have to think when it concerned the moon. She just waved her hands and channeled the pale magic. But with charms, things were so much different. The signs had to be exactly right, the channeling took effort and even then she was clearly missing something. “Actually.. can you teach me how to fight with spells? It’s just that… well I never really had much chance to practice that kind of spells. Actually, aside from that wind spell, I don’t really have anything to fight with.” The prospect of finally learning how to fight with magic did excite her. But at the same time, it was violence. So she tried to hide her excitement the best an eighteen year old girl could.

"Excuse me, my lady, I...you reminded me of someone..."

Hope burst up as William’s brother was noticing Amaryllis. Of course, it would have been preferable if he immediately recognized her. But so many years had passed now. But still, Maddox could see through the foreign dress and mask and almost recognized her. If that was not proof that the two shared some bond, then he didn’t know what ever could be. Still, William was literally on the brink of introducing Amaryllis. As even his mouth stood open ready to form the name. But then the prince of Slibah butted his ugly head in.

No, we haven’t met yet. But here I was, hoping to keep it like that. Those were his thoughts. Those thoughts of pure malice he wanted to utter. Not only was it a horrible time, William simply could not stand the mere, close presence of his counter-part. The two could not be more different. As William had to grow and fight on his own, this sorry excuse of a prince was given every single thing he desired. He lived with nobles and William had lived in the forests. Could he even shoot a deer? Probably not. He was probably too busy writing poetry or pretending to fight. From the depth of his heart, William wanted nothing more than to insult the prince and send him away to annoy someone else. The only one who saved the young Slibah from that fate was Amaryllis. As a fight between Maddox and William, which undoubtable would break lose, would ruin her chances to reconnect completely. So he kept quiet. But he did not return the bow. Instead he stared down Slibah's prince with fire in his eyes. That was the best he could do.

In his rather self-absorbed hate, he failed to notice Amaryllis’ slight distress. In fact, as she talked, he thought she was holding up alright. With carefully chosen words, he thought, she was summoning up old memories. Maybe he was biased but he hoped his brother would realize the truth sooner rather than later. Now he should give the right example and give the two some privacy. “I must excuse myself." He began, only then realizing that he actually had no reason to leave the conversation without looking suspiciously unoccupied. His eyes darted left and right, trying to find a reason. Until he found one: a beautiful lady, dressed in purple. He turned to Maddox with a rather mischievous grin. “The Stewards have been harassing me for weeks now. So I guess I should go appease them.” With that, he left and went towards Keir. Even though he didn’t know who she was. But not before he threw daggers with his eyes at Prince Antoine.

“Greetings, my lady.” He said as he made a small bow before Keir. “A interesting night, is it not?” he said, not particular paying much attention to her. In fact, the very words themselves didn’t sound sincere. They had William’s distinct sarcasm in it. To him, Keir was but a decoy. Best case scenario: nothing happens. The worst? Some gossips would form about him and some unknown woman. Which would get the stewards off his back at least for a little while. So instead of focusing on Keir, he was letting his eyes dart behind her, at Julianna.

“I apologize for Lady Alice’s… remark.” William said as he watched her storm off. He didn’t like her. Not as he liked Amaryllis. And he did not like his hunt being used to insult his own acquaintances. As well as being required to apologize for someone else’s rudeness. Though then again, he had no intention of greeting Julianna with much honor either. It made him a bit of a hypocrite maybe but he took that as his right. Besides, he was smarter to outright insult the next queen. “It would seem that she, indeed, needs to grow up a little more I suppose.” Which was rather ironic coming from William.

He then turned to Amaryllis after she asked how he and his brother was. “I’m great, actually. Thank you.” He said with a sincere smile. He truly had not expected Lady Amaryllis to return. At least he did not expect her to return so early. Still, he was happy with her arrival. “And yes, it has been an awfully long time. I’m sorry I could not come to visit.” The reason though, was obvious and left unsaid. “As for my brother.” He turned his gaze towards Maddox and Julianna. The image still made him rather sick. “He’s good… great even. Until now I’m afraid. It seems like some odd sickness took over. I prefer to think it is duty. As the peace was the desire of our father. But for it to be anything else…” he hated that thought. The idea that Maddox would love Julianna. They had never met. If anything, it could be a plot of the mad king Jack. William was a prince but not fit to be king. If Maddox fell, Abhainn would suffer greatly.

“Celebrations?” he was not prepared. Not at all. He knew it would be held soon after the arrival. But the very same day? He must have missed the information when he went hunting. The event completely blindsided him. But he let Lady Amaryllis speak. For it appeared she had a certain desire. A silent request. Obviously, as she only recently arrived as well it would appear that she didn’t have anyone for the celebration. “No, no gesture of romance.” William agreed quite happily. But taking Amaryllis would get the stewards off his back at least. And furthermore, it was clear what Lady Amaryllis wanted. “Ah yes. I do feel that my brother should meet you again. He will be ever so delighted. You carry so many old memories of my brother. How could he ignore you?” William returned with a smile. Only to swallow rather harshly when Amaryllis mentioned dancing. He danced in the arenas. That much was true. His footwork was rather good. But in a marble-clad ballroom he’d be lost. “Yes… dancing. I suppose so.” He had to take his mind off of things.

Then the ideas started to form. One night with Amaryllis, and surely his brother would start doubting the marriage. If it was love, of course. If it was duty… He’d have to find another way to remove the Slibah nobles from their position. Either way, having Amaryllis around would be a great boon to any of his endeavors. So, hoping he read her right, he asked her: “I must ask you though. Lady Amaryllis, would you remain a few days with us as our guest? You must be exhausted after your long trip. And furthermore, I am sure there are dozens of people you would want to reconnect with.” With that, he’d be able to keep Amaryllis around and give everyone an excuse for it.
@Bishop Jack wouldn't dare kill anyone significant in Abhainn... would he? I mean that's just handing the anti-marriage faction the guns to shoot down the whole peace.
I'll be working on a post answering Amaryllis! But that's just between me and Mudblood so I'm guessing you're waiting for someone else.

Small things, that was alright for Alexis. Though deep inside she really wanted to see if she could ever be a panther. Or rather, just an oversized black cat. But apparently that was considered demonic and she wasn’t about to try anything that sounded that bad. But she did notice a small detail. The enzymes. She thought it told her two things: one, that certain enzymes somehow control the magic and that there might be something that does have those enzymes. Or there was a more biological explanation. Something to do about body mass. Alexis knew that there had to be, at the very least, some correlation between magic and science. Still, she was happy. “I do hope someday I can soar in the sky.” She mumbled, with a smile, looking up through the window into the blue sky.

“But was it sentient?” an odd question, but so far everyone talked about it like it was a monster. Like some feral wolf that just wanted to kill. Or turn, apparently. But it was a werewolf. Meaning that at some point it had to shift back to its human form, no? “Like, did it make a choice to bite them? Or was it like, an involuntary need?” That sounded a lot more frightening. The more she now thought about it, the more she realized. It didn’t eat them, so she felt that biting them was a conscious choice. He wanted to make more werewolves. “What if it’s his plan, you know? To turn them all? Maybe he wants to use them… Can it?” The question droned through her. It felt like a clever plan. Instead of raising them cub by cub just bite a handful and see which ones survive. Or maybe it was to distract Zoe? Alexis didn’t know terribily much about magic yet, but she knew about lunar magic. The moon itself was a powerful source of power. Maybe the werewolf wants to do something that night? She’d have to ask Callie that soon. But right then, another thing came up.

Her friends. Or rather acquaintances. She was going to help them. Or at least, try to. But how could she do that if they didn’t know they could trust her? Even now she knew she was just the weird girl in the group. A bit of a loner, a bit of a weirdo. She couldn’t just walk up to them in school and say: ‘hey, I’m a witch, which is a supernatural just like you guys! Mind if we hang?’ No, she had to talk to them. In private. And when would they be more private and more together than now? In the hospital? “Callie… I appreciate that you want to teach me how to fight. I really do and maybe we could do that later today?” she started off, hoping she didn’t sound too rude. “Instead… I feel like I first should visit my friends.” But then she swallowed. No they weren’t her friends. Not yet. “I mean, classmates. We probably should talk about the whole… me being a witch thing and… I’d feel a lot better if you were there with me.”

Going to post something soon! (I hope...)
@The Valkyrie Oh no no no, no toes stepped on mate! Not at all, no worries. Now that I think of it, William really would act hostile against Julianna so what you said makes sense.
@Fabricant451 Of course, not saying that she is an enemy or that anyone especially is for that matter--except maybe her rivals and the Prince of Abhainn, haha--but that doesn't make them friends either. But she does seem to plenty of motivations for the moment to play to Julianna's side.

If I may, why the prince of Abhainn?
Probably going to make some sort of elder vampire.
