Current Two days ago, Noble Arms is indisputably four years old, spread out across three threads, and the third thread is still ongoing and about to reach the endgame...

Can't believe that I actually got an RP close to its endgame, btw...

Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

@Letter Bee Not at all, I did ask. When I said "dark", though, I meant more on a sort of Lovecraftian broken reality indescribable galactic horror sort of thing, existential stuff. I'm not particularly interested in gore/rape/insanity (maybe a bit of that last one though) for this one. If that changes your mind, great, if not, no big, I was just curious on your thoughts.

@deadpixel101 No worries, if you're out of the game for a while and wanna come back you can always shoot me a PM to get caught up.

Ah, not really interested in Lovecraftian stuff unless those can be beaten.
@IcePezz, thank you, will be making a proper character now.
@Letter Bee There's always room for new players. What part of "dark fantasy" doesn't agree with you? My own interpretation of it might vary from yours.

@LetMeDoStuff Thank you for coming back! <3

Well, let me see; my problems with Dark Fantasy are:

- Reliance on shock factors, such as gratuitous Blood, Gore, Death, and Rape. I've used that last one a lot in my earlier days, and all that resulted in was me getting called shallow and cheap. Not saying you would use those kinds of things, it's just that Dark Fantasy rings alarm bells inside my head, making me think of those factors.

- The 'Big Good/The Gods' turning out to be Evil, or at least morally dubious, with only a bit of foreshadowing. The Good Guys' organization turns out to be hiding skeletons in its closet, and the party is now being hunted down by their former allies. It can be done well, like in Generator Rex, but stuff like in Evangelion or 'Insert Anime X', well...

- The Universe singling out specific individuals to 'break', instead of distributing the suffering 'more realistically'. While there are good reasons for idealistic characters to suffer more than more cynical ones, sometimes, it seems as though the story goes out of its way to make the idealists suffer for their beliefs, even when said idealists have actually done something like prepare for defeat or actually come up with a smart plan.

Sorry if I seem to be griping.

That's an interesting setting. Perhaps grounds for a later adventure of intrigue and everyone getting tans? Assuming it's a sunny land where your character is from

Either way, you should tag @IcePezz into all of your posts

Will do. Anyway, I have a character meant for a 5e game that I'm planning on redoing for this one:

@IcePezz
@The Fated Fallen, used the Search Topic, and it seemed that no one is barred from using Gunpowder, but the strongest gunpowder weapons so far are flintlock pistols. So, okay, I can have those, as well as a sword.

Also, here's the Worldbuilding I want to do (It's my character's homeland):

@IcePezz
Okay...first up, I have a habit of vacillating whether or not to join an RP, and I'm dithering on whether to join this one. So, in order to make sure that I don't announce my intention of joining, then leave once I find out that, say, this RP is going to be darker in tone than what I wanted, I have to ask:

1.) What tone is this RP? High Fantasy, or Dark Fantasy?

2.) Are Gunpowder and Gunpowder Weapons allowed?

3.) What is the required length for posts? I can write five five-line paragraphs, just not all the time.

4.) Is there a posting order?

5.) How much worldbuilding is allowed?

Edit: 6.) I heard this RP is ending soon; is this true?

@IcePezz
Is there still room for new players?

Edit: Ah, just read the part where the RP promises to be Dark Fantasy. I must courteously withdraw my application, then.
Also if it comes to this I might introduce some NPCs for more interaction. ^^;

If it comes to what?
@SilverDawn: You're a little late. ^^; @Green Rhapsody already responded. If you need someone to interact with, try heading for the ramen shop maybe? Only two people there.

@SilverDawn, or you can witness Osamu trying to climb up an apartment building.
Staying in one place and watching people eat was not Osamu Akiyama's idea of fun. Granted, it wasn't supposed to be fun, it was work, but he was still 13, and thus easily bored. But, he wasn't going to shirk his duties, and that was not the only option.

The boy took out his smartphone and called:

"Ichijouji-sama, are you here?" Ken Ichijouji* was an old family friend of the Akiyamas and a member of the local Ministry of Silence. He was also the one Osamu, who was named after Ken's deceased older brother, reported to.

"Osamu-kun!" a surprisingly friendly voice for a Magi spoke, "glad to finally hear from you. Business, or boredom?"

"Both; I found Asami Ando, eating ramen in a mundane-held business, a local one that is frequently...frequented by residents. There's only a 10% probability of a fight starting there, but, well..."

"I understand," said Ken. "Takaki's, right? Your father told me a lot about it, and yes, for a fight to break out there would be mildly catastrophic - no offense. I'll send two watchers immidiately. In the meantime, shift positions as you will." The tone of trust was evident.

"Thank you, Icijouji-sama!" Osamu said a little loudly, before going down to the building below, and rushing out to find another high spot in order to watch things more closely. Thankfully, the publishing company also had a set of bicycles at the bottom, most belonging to the employees, but a few just left there for members of the Akiyama family to use.

And so Osamu drove off, to find another building...

-------

Said other building was an apartment complex, and a generic-looking one at that. Osamu also realized that he made a newbie mistake; how was he going to get on top of the building? Well, when there's a will, there is a way, and that way was the fire escape.

Getting down from his bike, Osamu clambered up the fire escape, glad for his streneous training. The railing was slick with grease, and the boy had to use his handkerchief to protect his fingers from some bird poop. Nevertheless, he was finally on top...only to find said top dusty, dirty, and filled with more bird poop.

Oh, fuck this, thought the boy as, not caring anymore, he began shooting arrows of light to vaporize the dung and the dust, clearing a space for him to finally sit down and begin his observations. Problem was, he was in the same apartment complex that Daichi Arata was living in, meaning that the homonculus would have seen him either clamber up the fire escape or clear the rooftop of debris.

And, for one last icing on this cake of minor shit, Osamu was hungry, and didn't bring any food, causing his stomach to rumble.

"Aww bleeping hell!" he shouted.

*Yes, I went there.
