Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Despite its massive flaws, my RP, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, is still one of the longest ongoing RPs in RPGuild - It turns 4 years old in July and the current thread itself is more than a year old.

The next day, Par was in a medium-sized anteroom, shooting at the wall opposite him with his light crossbow, then pulling out the bolts from where they got stuck; he couldn't afford to waste one bit of ammunition. Malko, once again wearing his trousers and moccassins, watched his lover - no, boyfriend - practice his fire on the walls before remarking:

"Your best range is three meters? Haven't you been learning how to use your weapon since you were 14?"

"I can actually shoot somewhat longer," was Par's answer, "but, well, with my limited ammunition, I dare not risk it." This elicited a smile from Malko, who then said:

"I can make you illusionary targets; it won't cost me that much energy. You'll have to not use Aurism, though; they might disappear." A smile from the Kvaren, which was returned by Par, who said:

"Thanks, Malko!" before, after pulling out his corporeal bolts, standing back to the very far edge of the room, and, once fairly large, but freely floating, targets began to appear in Par's line of vision (said targets looked like cantaloupes), the 19-year old began shooting again, hitting the large targets more often than not.

"Shift positions from time to time; you're a sitting duck!" Malko said, forcing Par to run around, changing positions, and even once, crouching, as he tried to hit more of the illisionary cantaloupes, managing to take out two targets with one bolt. Finally, however, he ran out of ammunition, and Malko, clearly a little tired out, stopped decieving Par's senses, allowing the latter to pick up his spent bolts. Once the merchant was done, his boyfriend said:

"So, what other skills do you have? Besides buying and selling stuff, seeing through buildings, and persuading your father to not murder me?" A chuckle at that; that latter part actually happened twice, because Arthur had not been happy to see that his son had given his virginity to a Kvaren.

"Well, I'm a fast runner, and I can do the simplest of high jumps, stand upside down, and do some backflips..." Par trailed off, causing a spark of mischief to flash across Malko's eyes - the other 19-year old's next words were:

"Why not give me a demonstration, then? Actually, perhaps you can practice that skill here? It'll give us something to do."

"All right," Par was suspecting something, before immidiately beginning a backflip; it was crude, but not too sloppy. Then, he began another flip, and another, to claps of encouragement from Malko.

"You're doing well!" said the Kvaren as Par kept doing backflips, "not yet as good as a true tribesman, but it'll save your life one day, that's to be sure." A smile from him, as he looked at a sweaty Par.

"Yeah," said the merchant, "I'm dripping, though." He then realized what Malko's plan was, and chuckled, waiting for the Kvaren's next words.

"What about taking everything off, then? That way, you can keep practicing, and I can see your hot and sweaty body. Everyone wins!" Malko then watched as Par took off every article of clothing, not ashamed to exhibit every part of his body to his lover, and then resumed his acrobatics practice...

------

After a long and exhausting morning, Malko and Par ate lunch; the former brought his own food and drink, while the latter was clothed again. Malko then continued, in-between mouthfuls:

"I'm thinking of another way to get in shape; why don't we race around the hillfort's keep, within the inner walls? That way, we'd be safe from any intruders, while we'd still have enough room to race."

"You know you'd win in a heartbeat," said Par, "but the point is to get in shape, right?"

"Of course, of course," Malko said. "And of course, we can do it naked."

A smile from both growing young men, before the two quickly finished their lunch and went for the door.

-----

A few hours later, the two were naked, resting by the doorway of the old fort and letting the afternoon sun warm them; Malko also had an ointment that prevented Par's pale skin from getting sunburn.

"You know," said Malko, "plenty of things can go wrong. For both of us."

"Hey," Par smiled, "at least we'll have these memories for when things are at their bleakest. These will warm us in cold nights."

"Metaphorically cold, or really cold?" Malko questioned.

"Both," was Par's answer. "So, I have to ask; how long do you have until you have to go back to The Bats and your Shadewalker duties?"

"Oh," said the young man, "I have one more day; debt or no debt, the tribe would kill you if you distract me too much from my duties."

"One more day of training, eating, talking, and making love, then?" was Par's question. "Let's make the most of it."

And so, the two lay back, looking at the clouds...
I made a Solo RP involving Par!
This is a Solo RP for Par; Malko is a World NPC.
Starting Date and Time: Saffra, Day 1, 301DM

Starting Location: Ebonfort Region, Southewest Border.

CS URLs: Paradise 'Par' Rapids

Paradise 'Par' Rapids could not believe he wasn't out of Ebonfort territory yet. He had already taken a huge risk in leaving his parents on a small hick town in the borderlands, where they might be found by Ebon Knights, Kvaren - not Malko's tribe - or both at the same time. Heck, leaving, alone, with only speed and a light crossbow for protection, was also a risk for him. Of course, he had a survival kit, and it would last a while, but that meant that he would be forced to, how does one put it? Forced to refrain from exploring things outside his direct path, which in turn had to lead outside of Ebonfort territory in the shortest way possible.

And...in his direct path loomed a large hillfort, one that presumably belonged to one of the Pre-fall Empires, or might possibly be an old Ebonfort outpost itself; however, Par needed to make certain that he would not find any bandits inside, or even Kvaren - he didn't want to die or be enslaved so soon!

So, the 19-year old boy began circling the fort, looking for any visible water and food sources; even bandits and temporary Kvaren occupants needed to supply themselves in order to stay within the hillfort. Then, he looked at the fort itself - and felt a sense of vertigo as his sight was suddenly boosted, boosted to a new realm. He can now suddenly see inside the hillfort, see that its well had dried up and that all the food was long since gone, and most importantly, that there were no occupants

Shocked, Par was then overcome by a feeling of woozieness, before closing his eyes, squinting. When he opened them, everything was normal again, although the 19-year old boy felt as though he needed to eat and drink. So, he took some dried meat and a loaf of bread from his pack, and, as he ate, washed it down with wine.

Riding his horse inside the hillfort, knowing it was safe now, Par then went inside the suprisingly snug main building, then unrolled his bedroll on the floor, before wondering:

Was that Magic I just did? I knew there were rumors, but I never thought - and of course, what is inside this hillfort... Overwhelmed by his discovery, and tired due to his exertion of magical energy, Par then went to sleep; the question of what was inside the hillfort left for later...

------

"Par?" a voice called out his name, as the merchant was being nudged gently. Startled out of his sleep, Par's eyes snapped open, to find a familiar face before him. A familiar, brown-skinned face. It was Malko, his Kvaren friend and sometimes lover. Smiling, Par said:

"Never expected to see you again for a long while."

"I couldn't get enough of your face," Malko said in Kvaren, the musical tounge soothing Par's nerves. "But, to be honest, I came here to tell you that your parents will be as okay as I can make them; The Bats," it was the name of the Malko's tribe, "never forget a debt. Also, I wanted to talk to you. About our future."

"Right now," was Par's response, "I have all these grand schemes in my head, grand schemes of alliances and armies and leading them against Ebonfort, while you build power among the Kvaren. But...to be honest, I'm not sure those grand schemes won't fall apart at the outside sign of pressure."

"I'm not talking about that," Malko sighed. "What I mean is, what do you want for your people? What do you want for mine? What do you want for the world?"

"Those are hard questions," spoke Par. "But, to be honest, what I want is a world of peace and prosperity, of free and fair trade and honest living and work. A world where people are bound to each other by choice, not forced onto the will of another. A world where authority can be freely questioned, yet still remain authority precisely because it allows itself to be questioned. A world where the hungry are fed and educated, and of course, a world without slavery." He looked at Malko, expecting him to be displeased at that last comment.

"I won't lie," the Kvaren said in turn, "that last part, I myself don't like it, and it's going to be hard for our people as a whole to swallow." He then gazed at Par's grey eyes. "Yet, because I love you, I will do my best to make it a reality." At the look of shock in Par's eyes, Malko continued:

"Again, I owe you a debt twice over, the first for saving my life, and the second for showing me what love is." By the light of the crude fire Par had made, one can also see that Malko was wearing only trousers and tough moccassin shoes, exposing his fit, well-muscled, and hairless chest to the air. Par smiled at that.

"Let's lay together again," Malko spoke, "let's give ourselves to each other once more." Par didn't speak, kissing his Kvaren lover firmly on the lips as the latter made to remove Par's own shirt -

-------

Later, as the two shared the same bedroll, completely nude and panting, Par then said:

"If you hadn't been so eager to make love, I could have told you that I discovered that I had magic just earlier today."

"Oh, what sort?" was his lover's question.

"Something that allowed me to see inside walls, and even underground"

"Ah, Aurism," Malko said, "that's what it's called in Common."

"You know about Magic?" Par was surprised. "Or rather, what terms are there for Magic?"

"Yeah," was the reply. "My own magic is Illusion; it's pretty small, though, but enough to break people out, like your father." A smile from Par.

"Thanks again for that; I owe you a debt. Anyway," Par said. "Let's sleep for now."

And with that, the two drifted off in each other's arms...
@Hawlin, Thanks, but LHG might be gone for today and perhaps tomorrow.
@Letter BeeI haven't had a chance to post and need to catch up, as there are a lot of posts after mine, but I should still be in.

Thanks, TU!
@Gentlemanvaultboy, @TheUnknowable, @Happy Go Lucky, you guys still in the RP?
@agentmanatee, All right.
I just recieved word that LHG would be unavailable for a day or two, so can some people please post?
@Letter Bee - Ranged Weapons is not a skill. You want Ranged Weapon (Light Crossbow) as your skill

You need to read the Survival Kit a bit more closely.

<Snipped quote>

This means you don't get the 1000gp for not having a house. This is your house, essentially. You need to redo your possessions/ledger.

@Landaus Five-One - Children usually get apprenticeships (which come with a wage) but can get jobs as well. As a child you pretty much are put on an apprenticeship path, raised as a page or squire. There are no orphans, as they get adopted by knights. Slacking children are not tolerated, and will be sent to the knights.

I thought that might be the case, but @Drache told me otherwise. Will convert my repeater back to a Light Crossbow.
