IS THIS STILL OPEN I WANT TO JOIN SO BAD
Is this still open? :) I'm very interested!

Location; Abhainn Ballroom
Interacting With; Prince Lucian Auclair @Wolflover

The ball had been growing in volume, both audibly and in size, but the most important individual had yet to make his appearance. King Maddox's tardiness wasn't anything new to Alice, but she always did have the same level of concern regardless of how many times he would be late to an event. Her eyes scanned through room, passing by every noble in search of a familiar face, preferably King Maddox. Her discomfort from his absence wasn't primarily apparent because of her hidden love that she had for him, nor his charming looks to enjoy gawking at, but moreover, the reassurance of his safety. Being a former battle-maiden within the military, she would never let go of the duty of making sure those around her are protected, especially her King.

Alice's thoughts were interrupted by a familiar, youthful voice of none-other-than Prince Lucian. She stood, giving him a quick, faint smile before curtseying out of respect, "You're highness, it is a pleasure to see you."

Alice's lady-like mannerisms were unordinary since many of her companions had never seen Alice as her noble-self. For years, she bore her signature armor and spent most of her days training or within the war room. Prince Lucian would not be used to a curtsey gestured by Alice, given their history of training together, Alice being the instructor, and Prince Lucian being the student. Nonetheless, it had been awhile of living as a noble bearing expensive garments of silk and jewelry, but her presence lacked her well-known might and vigor in which was generally brought upon by her equipment. Slapping on make up and throwing on a delicately made gown truly showed a side of Alice that nobody expected, regardless of the minor discomfort that could be seen through her mannerisms from time to time.

It was clear that many of the other nobles were starting to become aware of the absence of King Maddox, judging from Prince Lucian's concern. Alice gave the smallest of chuckles at his verbal mistake, finding the humor more within the reaction of the surrounding nobles, but also within the innocence that Prince Lucian still had by referring to him as 'brother'. "I have not seen his majesty either, but I'm sure he should be here soon," she replied, reaching over to fix a bit of his collar that had folding in before continuing, "Try not to worry too much, his tardiness is nothing to be stressed over, even if this celebration is said to be the 'biggest of the century'."

Alice took a moment to analyze Prince Lucian's appearance, finding a bit of changes within his stature from growing. Without expressing it, a level of sadness formed within the pit of her stomach from not being the favored mentor that she used to be. Although she was forcibly retired from all things related to military and combat, she wished to still train Prince Lucian to help him become as great of a warrior as can be -- and to successfully fill the slot in which Alice was ripped from. Except, this type of mentorship was nonexistent, even if the two still saw each other as trainer and student, but Alice still held that same respect for him, regardless. Being a former mentor, these were all the usual thoughts one would have when faced with a student that grows, yet still has so much room for improvement.

Alice's mood was shifted from this quick rush of nostalgia, feeling discomfort within the setting of crowded nobles and booming chatter. "I'm going to step outside, all this celebrating has me feeling uneasy. Care to join?" With that she would proceed out to the balcony that overlooked the beautiful land of Abhainn. The cool, crisp air combined with the faint sounds of rushing water from a nearby waterfall caused almost immediate ease for Alice, walking over towards the edge to rest her hands along the banister.

Alice looked over to the only pair of nobles that secluded themselves from the celebration. She recognized their appearance, it was none other than the King of Sliabh and a nobleman of Sliabh. Alice turned and couldn't help but roll her eyes, still holding lingering animosity for their country and it's people, but she was trying to get past that.
I've posted with a change in setting!

Although abrupt, I want to further advance within the plot as I'm seeing that the character interaction is very little right now. So I think this added push will be fun!

There's nothing more painful than a werewolf's bite.

Location; Washington Square
Interacting With; Alden Wright @Monacho - Genevieve Alleron @Alfhedil, Blaine Moore @ihinka

Ambrosia's eyes gazed around the square in which people roamed from booth to booth, trying to take advantage of deals or to support the local businesses, but nothing was out of ordinary besides Ambrosia's discomfort spawned by the combination of the sunlight and the holy boon that enchants the square. Without any suspicious activity to be seen, Ambrosia got up from the bench and straightened out her dress, "Let's roam the square and play it off, then we'll make an earlier leave."

"Are you sure, Mrs. Sanguis?" Mr. Edwards questioned.

Ambrosia nodded, taking his arm before they began to roam around, her eyes still darting from person to person. She couldn't help but feel anxious by the unpleasant feeling that the enchanted field brought, but moreover, the unknown purpose for the enchantment made all feelings of unease come alive. Every other second it was as if the world was spinning for Ambrosia, bringing fatigue and exhaustion to the table of discomfort. Shaking her head to try to cast her building concerns away, she stopped at the petting booth and brought out a genuine smile at the sight of all the adorable puppies. Attempting to distract her mind from the growing pain, Ambrosia approached one of the volunteers. "May I pet one of the dogs?" she spoke as her eyes met with the blue-eyed, red-haired girl whom was adorned with their signature dog ears.

Before any response, Ambrosia turned to the various dogs that gathered to look at Ambrosia, each one of them growling and giving an occasional bark with territorial manners. It was clear that the dogs sensed her dark presence that brought hostility and unease to the atmosphere. Without paying much attention to any response the girl would give, she gave a simple smile before walking away from the booth, Mr. Edwards still interlocking arms with her. She spoke to Mr. Edwards after going a short distance away, "Perhaps this enchantment is making my presence more apparent. We should take our leave now before things become worse."

They made their way past the gathering crowd of people to set up chairs in preparation to watch the fireworks, Ambrosia wincing and shaking her head every now and then to try to overcome the piercing pain that grew stronger and stronger with each step. Once they made their way to the perimeter of the field, they were stopped by a girl's sudden scream that echoed through the open air. It was long and sustained, increasingly louder as the screaming girl came running towards the large crowd of people in hopes of some sort of protection. It was only moments before the constant chattering of people dimmed to properly observe the strange event. It took awhile for Ambrosia to gather herself from the distracting pain to look around and bring her attention to the girl that made her way through the crowd, only to fall at the feet of Ambrosia and Mr. Edwards. In this instance, it was not the assumed event of a drunken girl being an absolute idiot, but rather a girl fleeing for her life from a rabid wolf that made itself known in the growing crowd.

The temperament of the wolf suggested that it could've strayed from the forest, but why would it come so far into civilization just to attack a girl that must've been running for quite some time? Ambrosia eyed the brown-colored wolf, the glow in it's eyes hinting at it's supernatural identity, but it was tinted with a black haze that clouded over it's glowing eyes. Shocked at the event, many people just watched before a chain of screams began to fill the air. Ambrosia hesitated as she watched the wolf gnaw at the helpless girl's calf before reacting. With a swift motion, she reached for her concealed pistol and shot the wolf right in it's shoulder to free the girl from it's harsh bite. The girl crawled her way towards Ambrosia as they all watched the wolf bark loudly, though it didn't approach. It stopped at the edge of the square, following the perimeter to meet a new prey as people scattered about. It wasn't long before a band of wolves followed behind this wolf, causing people to run about to try and seek protection somewhere away from this rabid attack. The pack of wolves that disbanded to seek out helpless victims to attack could've been easily counted up towards a dozen, or maybe more.

"We're going to get out of here -- take the girl with us," Ambrosia told Mr. Edwards, coldly, as she turned to him.

Mr. Edwards didn't think twice to follow her command, picking the girl up to carry her bridal style. She looked at them in a panic with tears falling from her big brown eyes, only to stain her face with black mascara, "Please take me to the hospital!"

Ambrosia gazed into the injured girl's eyes, narrowing her own eyes as she focused, "You'll be fine." The girl went unconscious within a matter of seconds as they stood within the grounds of the enchantment. The streets were nearly cleared of people, cars turning away from the square to get away from the sudden scene of confusion and bloodshed. There were many victims that lined the streets, nearly all of them bearing several bite marks and wounds that left them in a mess of blood and guts. It didn't take long before people crowded within the square and the perimeter of the enchantment was made apparent.

Ambrosia began to brainstorm, speaking aloud to Mr. Edwards, "They won't enter the square. It must be the enchantment that's keeping them away." With a wince, she looked at the werewolves that infiltrated the streets before continuing, "I can't last much longer in this, we need to go. Hopefully there's a hunter or three that isn't afraid to fight so they can buy us some time."

Ambrosia lead the way through the crowding people with a fast-paced walk, keeping one pistol in hand in case she would need protection, though she kept her second pistol that contained silver bullets stowed away to save for a more appropriate time. While passing through people within the square, she awaited a proper exit that offered a discreet opening to properly get around the various wolves that kept the people cramped and afraid within the square. Ambrosia halted at the sight of two individuals, both giving off a rather strong aroma, the mix between the two suggesting strength and danger, but Ambrosia, casting away any signs of danger that resonated from the pair, saw it as an opportunity for formidable protectors. The first attempt at compelling seemed as if she was taking a wooden stick to an iron wall, presumably due to the enchantment that greatly reduced Ambrosia's power, but there was a much stronger leading factor. Ambrosia eyed the woman of asian descent -- this particular target to compel was offering an effortless defense that really provided such a rigorous mind battle. Ambrosia let go of the attempt after several long seconds, without trying to perform any further attempts on the dark-haired, blue-eyed woman that stood beside her. This event helped to resurface Ambrosia's anxious feelings, assuming a defensive stance in case she was, now, dealing with opponents similar to the wolves that were attacking the square.

Worried that they might identify her vampiric presence, this strange moment of shock was soon interrupted by an older man that stood on the lifted stage in the center of the square, booming a deep, 'Hello', into the microphone that caught the attention of nearly every individual within the square. He bore a big, heavy cross around his neck with a bible in his raised-hand. His thick, grey hair was styled and his black suit suggested that he was a priest. Ambrosia, living a long life within Salem, Massachusetts, couldn't recognize his face at all, despite the fact that she wasn't the type to attend church on a weekly basis. Though there were no real comparisons in stature beside him, it was clear that he was tall, broad, and strong, regardless of any physical traits that hinted at his older age.

"Fellow citizens of Salem, Massachusetts," his English accent was as loud and clear as his deep-toned voice that echoed within the open air, "What you are witnessing at this very moment is what threatens our beloved sanctuary, our home, and our society. For too long, we have lived behind a curtain of darkness in which leaves us surrounded by rumors, lies, and false hope for a safe future. This is only the beginning of a madness that has yet to reach your very doorstep." The sounds of police sirens seemed to overlap his adjourned speech before he continued, "Come see me at St. James Parish if you seek answers -- and join me in a quick testament tomorrow night at eight o'clock -- pm."

With that, he was gone from the stage in a matter of seconds and lost within the crowd of people. Gunshots were echoing within the air as colors of blue and red flashed through the dimming afternoon. The night was being welcomed by shock, death, and confusion. Everything began to tie together for Ambrosia -- the enchantment, the attack, and the man's speech. Was this a demonstration that would welcome in a chain of events to oust the supernatural realm? This very moment caused a chill to run up Ambrosia's spine, becoming fearful of what lies in the future. Was this to rid of the low-profile that the supernaturals successfully kept in an attempt to finally bring upon a war to lead in genocide?

So, just to let you all know that I have a lot going on in real life at the moment and I am currently without internet service. I’m not going to close this but just letting you guys know if I go silent for a few days.

No worries! We're at a spot in which we could keep interacting with each other if you still want to leave posting open. Unless you want to do a posting rotation!
Compelling: I think I'll finalize it in that hunters with training have a great deal of resistance to the vampire's compel, some even being able to overcome it depending on how rigorous their training was and how much experience they have. Granted, an elder vampire whom is skilled with compelling would offer a more challenging match. I think I'll eliminate all physical fortitude with this, leaving it based on the willpower of the individual -- sort of like a mind battle? Though, I do agree in forewarned, forearmed. So people that know of the ability or, at least, have experienced it, will generate resistance towards it. So excessive use on the same individual would be unwise. To add to this, a vampire that compels an individual that offers known resistance will help suggest that the individual has experienced a vampire's compel before, the amount of experience depending on their amount of resistance. Or maybe the individual just has good willpower? Not sure on this.

Regeneration: Werewolves will have stronger regeneration than all other supernatural species, which helps add to their 'tank' title. Their regeneration is stronger in their werewolf form, but their regeneration is still strong in their human form. Scarring is very rare since their regeneration is quick. Their blood loss is also minimal since their blood will clot at a very fast rate. If you strike a werewolf with silver, their regeneration on the given area will be weakened a substantial amount, and would be more prone to scarring, depending on the severity of the wound. Werewolves are capable of regenerating missing limbs, but this rate would, of course, be slow.

Example: A minor cut would heal completely in a matter of minutes. A gunshot that doesn't penetrate through vital organs should heal within a day. When vital organs are injured, the werewolf is still capable of regenerating, but at a slower rate. When affected by silver, the rate of healing will be similar to that of a human.

Vampires will have strong regeneration, and this will be heightened through feeding. Vampires are capable of entering long slumbers to recover from severe injuries/poisons/toxins.

Example: A minor cut would heal within a day. A gunshot that doesn't penetrate through vital organs should heal within a week when feeding at a regular rate. When a vital organ is injured, they'll be weakened substantially and they'll be required to fall into a slumber in which their body can focus on healing, only to awake thirsting for a great deal of blood. The length of their slumber depends on the severity of the injury.
I suppose it would depend on what lore we choose to follow. It stands to reason though that vampires would regenerate faster while feeding or immediately after they've fed. As for the Weres, from what I've read that included Werewolves they all seamed to heal faster while shifted and slower in their human form, but still faster than normal humans.

I do believe in Blaine's sheet it is stated she lacks the resistance to vampiric compulsion. I think at the time I meant it to be discovered it was some sort of hex or a charm placed on her, or something connected to her turning. Also, to know and understand something doesn't make you immune to it. Although they do say forewarned, forearmed. So I suppose it would depend on the strength of will and mind to try to fight the compulsion, rather then resist or negate it outright.

And lets not forget human ingenuity is never to be underestimated, tis why we, as a species, are placed on the top of the animal food chain. Otherwise we don't stand a snowballs chance in hell against a great white for instance. So the hunters might very well have devised a way to be protected against compulsion if they've studied it's mechanics long enough. It's, at least, something to be considered.

I never mentioned anything about immunity, but if you can go back and find somewhere that I did -- go for it!

But yes, I agree. Forewarned, forearmed. But, I'm confused by the end of the post. I do agree that any trained hunter should be more resistant to a vampire's compel from devising ways of resistance in such instances, but when you speak of human ingenuity, are you saying that humans, in general, should be capable of resisting a great deal?
@Lionhearted @HushedWhispers

I updated Lizzie's character sheet. Let me know...?

Looks much better! You may place her in the Characters Tab!

Just a note: Her ability to make people forget her existence or to manipulate their memories to forget her, or events, in which she's involved in will be most successful on regular humans. As for other supernaturals, as well as hunters, this compel ability will be much more difficult to perform since it is a pretty strong skill.

DISCUSSION

Alrighty~! I'm loving all the introduction posts and I'm thinking about moving forward with the roleplay either tonight or tomorrow to begin a new round of posting, BUT I do want to discuss a topic that was brought up before.

The question being: How powerful is a werewolf/vampire's regeneration?

I've read sources that werewolves can regenerate, at least, 10x faster than the rate of a human can, with minimal to no scarring. For vampires, I'm assuming that it's going to be much weaker than a werewolf's, but through the process of feeding, it can speed up. I'm curious to see if anybody is okay with this idea or has any input!

More questions: Can a vampire resistant another vampire's compel? How much can a supernatural resist the vampire's compel?

I've spoke to my co-gm's and we've come to the conclusion that physical fortitude would not be a major factor when it comes to resistance, but moreover, the willpower of the individual being compelled will be the leading factor. Those that know vampires and know the supernatural realm will understand the compel of a vampire. I do want to allow the supernatural races to have a natural resistance to the ability, but I don't want to completely under-power hunters, though they will always be at a disadvantage when it comes to their lack of racial abilities.
@Lionhearted

fair concerns. I was struggling a bit with the actual transition. I'll work on changing your points later today. thanks!

No problem! I look forward to seeing the revised character! ( ^_^)b
