Once upon a time, I used to cheer for May the 4th... now I cry with disappointment. *Except Clone Wars S7 and the Mandalorian - they are awesome*

Upper-Platform Level 3 ----> Stadium Floor

@Pirouette, @KaiserElectric, (Anyone in Stadium)

*thoom*

Callus suddenly detects a faint rumble trembling from the ground, rippling from his feet and up through his entire body. The scaly Draconian's eyebrows perk up slightly as he looks towards the ground, raising his hand to halt the fairy from saying anything more. He listens carefully towards the ground, wondering if they heard it, but alas they seem as if they hadn't taken notice of it. After all, it was only a weak tremble that can be dismissed as an insignificant mini-quake. However to Callus, something about it was off.

"Did you feel that?" he asks the fairy curiously, making sure he wasn't going crazy.

*Thoom*

Another tremble surfaces, this one being slightly more powerful than the last.

"That." Callus confirms to the fairy, regardless whether she asked for specifics prior or not.

He frowns deeply as he crouches to the solid concrete ground, laying his claws and tails down to get a better feel for the shaking. He needs some quick answers from the Earth regarding the disturbance. This doesn't feel like an approaching earthquake. And even if it is, the pattern doesn't follow a traditional quake. He closes his eyes as he connects his soul with the ground below him, feeling every ripple through the ground as if it was a liquid mass. He can feel the faint stomping of cheering people and the solid blows coming from the opponents below, yet they were weak and predictable compared to what he just felt.

*THOOM*

The shaking becomes even stronger. This can only mean one thing. The shaking wasn't necessarily getting stronger, but rather it's coming closer. Callus' worse fears are finally coming to life, knowing full well what's going to happen. He swiftly perks up from his crouching position, feeling a sudden rush of blood flowing through his head as his body regulates the recent shaking jotting through his figure. He hesitates momentarily before regaining his figure, his eyes widening as he turns his head back at the fairy, with the elevator door opening behind him revealing two or three persons. The Draconian only mutters the phrase:

"It's coming this way."

*THOOM*

At that point, the ground became silent as they can finally feel the ground shake from underneath them. Now they sense what Callus has been feeling, but by this time it's far too late to alert the officials about it. Whatever's coming is going to burst out any second now. He can hear several people shout earthquake off in the crowd, but no one had no idea what's about to come, not even Callus knew exactly what's coming up. He bursts towards the railing gazing towards the stadium with a fearful gaze as he begins to sound the alarm.

"EVERYONE TAKE COVER!"

But it's already too late...

*THOOOOOOM*

*CRUNCH*

Bursting in between the two contestants, a giant stone oni emerges from the rock below as it's presence causes a mass panic of spectators attempting to get out of the entire stadium. Even the walls began shattering around the compound as massive dark figures began invading the facility. Callus only looks in sheer terror at the absolute calamity that has just been unleashed, hearing the echoing bellow of the barbaric monster and the cackling of electricity striking his grimacing face along with the black creatures pouring in. There's no time to waste. Whatever it wants, it's clear it's purpose is to wreck chaos through the event.

"Hold off the swarm." Callus says towards the fairy, "I'll deal with the brute."

The Draconian grips his Kurogica tightly as it begins to glow a reddish-brown haze. Through the intense concentration of the earth, Callus connects with the solid matter around him. Gaia permits the usage of the ground to Callus' will, the earth ready to be used against the malevolent terrorism beyond. Without any further delay, the Draconian jumps high into the air and into the radius of the battleground. He raises his sword into the sky, blade pointing downwards, as he attempts to slay the creature with his sword. Even if he misses and hits the ground, the impact unleashes a miniature earthquake of its own which attempts to throw the oni off balance. Regardless whichever strike happens first, Callus follows it up with several sweeping strikes at the lumbering oaf.

A creature of its size is easy to outmaneuver as long as a fighter keeps in constant motion and strikes both swiftly and efficiently.

In that context I was thinking more the humans competing against each other so as to breed the best creatures for the team, setting their different pets against each other to determine which would be the best before helping to take down particularly vicious foes together. Sort of like PvP arena combat before facing the PvP wilds missions.

If humans were teleported to the future world, I don't think they'd be really able to breed monsters so effectively. Maybe in a future world where humans are more predominant and have more advanced technology to tame them (like Monster Hunter Stories) yes, but here is where monsters rule and humans have gone extinct. All of this is not necessarily in line with my vision.

My vision is a world in the future, when humans have gone extinct and the monsters have developed higher intelligence for speech and complicated thought processes/sentience. They rule the world with hierarchal kingdoms situated through most biomes and sectors, with a Monarch ruling over his/her/their people, with Counts owning land territories, in which they in return are given to Barons and they maintain order through their biome. They are becoming intelligent within a Feudalistic society.

The RP is to either focus on an exclusively monster-based perspective, as one starts out as a weaker creature growing up to become powerful monsters. Or, have a band of hunters be teleported after fighting a mysterious monster, and they have to survive in a Monster-Ruled land as they attempt to find their way back home.

I honestly do not have many major plans to mostly focus on breeding and genetic tampering with the creatures. Again, this is something to be explored in another RP - I think it would be cool - but in the one Im planning, it won't be such a focus.

These are good suggestions referring to my second idea:

No option to play as a human hunter with a 'pet' monster which they're forcing to fight in battles, forage for food and eat rare candies to help them evolve in a direction that would be beneficial for the hunter? It would help with the roleplaying if the rival humans could trade smack talk before getting their giant beast to battle each other for supremacy. Defeating an Apex predator would give you the option to try and tame it, using it as one of your pets until it dies in bloody battle for your glory. A bit like in Pokemon.

I suppose you could attempt to tame/recruit monsters into your group. Remember though, these creatures are by all instances sentient, in which they can talk and feel, with many of the monsters having an incredible dislike to humans. However, if you're able to be on good relationships with the Barons/Counts/Prince/Monarch, you can be rewarded or simply given a monster to help you on your hunt. The type obviously depends on the mission, but by default you could get something as small as a Jaggi/Jagras, to something as large as a Tetsucabra - maybe even a juvenile/sub-adult Rathalos/Rathian for example. Larger threats may require a hunter to take arms with large creatures.

I will also keep heads on the humans being with factions. The original plan was for these hunters to be united while trying to find their way back home to their era, but perhaps to have them represent as one of the last human hunters of a territory, being maybe blessed by a god/goddess, could be an idea to explore.

You could take the RP in a totally different direction and make it a little like Horizon: Zero Dawn, where the monsters are machines which the humans can hack and take control of. By destroying other monster machines the hunters would be able to salvage parts from them to upgrade their favourite pets. Defeating an Apex predator would let you salvage some of the advanced tech from its body and bolt it onto your own monster, but if you get defeated in battle an opponent might rip the shiny tech off and start using it themselves.

Yeaaaaah, machines aren't going to be planned in the RP in any form. However, the core mechanic in hunting and getting hides will most certainly be in effect, as I plan for the hunter to be stripped of all but one piece of their armor (to make it unique amongst the crew of humans). Monster armor can also be heavily considered, even regarding my first idea. And Monsters can learn human tactics if the hunters fail the mission at hand, or strike back at them at a later date.

And another different direction would be to have the monsters similar to the Zerg from Starcraft, the Kaiju from Pacific Rim or the Tyrandis from Warhammer 40k, where each 'hive' is controlled by a central intelligence which can spawn creatures with different abilities depending on what they need them to do. Players could take on the role of one the the 'overminds' breeding new species in competition with the overs, trying to gather new genetic materials to unlock new traits, abilities and skills, as well as biological material to actually grow the beasts. Defeating one of the Apex predators would then give you the ability to spawn a clone of them, but you'd have to collect enough biomass to feed into the spawning pool before being able to make something that big.

A cool idea for a RP... but I do not believe it will fit the visions I currently have for this RP. However it definitely must be explored in a more original RP.
For this MH RP that may come up, I'm featuring two actual concepts that allow for such a Pre-dominant Monster environment to be a thing.

1). My original plan. This is a monster-only environment, but you start out as a Great/Drome creature. Through completing quests and killing large monsters, you earn evolution spheres, and when you reach enough you can evolve into a new creature. Progression info and branch is explained above.

2). Have a tiny human cast in a pre-dominant monster environment. A group of hunters battle against a mysterious elder dragon, which somehow teleports them into the future, where humans are extinct and monsters live in a hierarchical system akin to Planet of the Apes trilogy. There's Monster Kingdoms and the creatures can talk, and they reaaaaaaally dislike the humans. The hunters must earn their trust as they attempt to figure out how to get home.

Any other suggestions on what may pop out of this are most welcomed!
Because if it's a character driven game the players will likely be monsters. However given the ecological hierarchy there's no real way to progress that I can see. If you play as Prey there's no way to become a predator or become stronger. You either start as a Predator and something meaningful or you don't really have any options.

This I have covered. If this becomes a RP, there will be a starting creature and there will be ways to actually evolve into a more powerful creature. You get to the next phase by collecting a certain amount of "evolution spheres". Here's how it goes:

You'll start off as one of the "Great/Drome" creatures (Great Jagras, Great Jaggi, Cephadrome, Congala, Blangonga, Seltas, etc), which are medium sized monsters that while they're small in the grand scheme of the ecosystem, they are still capable of holding their own. These creatures are pack leaders, and they can call upon their pack to help them take down opposing creatures.

Through completing quests and taking down other large monsters, you can collect evolution spheres in order to evolve into a larger creature. This is when you can choose which creature-class you want to be. Depending on the creature you pick, you'll go down a certain tech tree in which you become more stronger creatures of the selected branch.

Once you graduate from the "Drome-Class", you get to choose to become either; "Brute Wyvern - Flying Wyvern - Piscine - Fanged - or Bug".

So lets say you pick being a Brute Wyvern, you can evolve into a Medium-Class creature, (Barroth, Anjanath) or their subspecies (you can also create your own creature as long as they fit the section class - this applies for all other branches). Once you gain more orbs (Three), you can evolve into a Heavy-Class creature (Uragaan/Radobaan, Abiorugu/Giaorugu, Duramboros, Najarala, etc). And the final evolution is the Apex-Class (Glavenus, Gasurabazura, Deviljho) which you can evolve after gaining four points.

(Basically it goes like this: Drome --> Medium --> Heavy --> Apex)

If you pick Flying Wyvern, you evolve into a Medium-Class creature (Yian Kut-Ku, Pukei-Pukei, Gypceros, Qurupeco, Khezu, etc), then Heavy-Class creatures (Yian Garuga, Malfestio, Rathalos/Rathian, Tigrex, Monoblos, etc), and finally the Apex (Diablos, Seregios, Astalos, etc).

(Basically it goes like this: Drome --> Medium --> Heavy --> Apex)

Here's when things get different:

If you pick Piscine Creature, you evolve into a Medium-Class creature (Tetsucabra, Daimyo Hermitaur/Shogun Ceanataur). Depending on what you pick, you can go down certain a certain sub-branch.

If you pick Tetsucabra (or any amphibian creature), you enter the "Amphibian Branch", and unlock the Heavy-Class (Zamtrios, Pelsioth/Jyuratodus, Lavasioth, etc). If you take the former two creatures (Zamtrios, Pelsioth/Jyuratodus), you get to evolve into the Leviathan Class (Lagiacrus, Nibelsnarf, Baruragaru, Mizutsune, etc). However, if you take the latter creature (Lavasioth), or any creature that swims/burrows in lava/ice, you unlock the Lavscine Class (Agnaktor, Glacial Agnaktor), which then you evolve into the Apex depending on which Agnaktor creature you select Akantor, Ukanlos).

If you pick the Medium-Class Daimyo Hermitaur/Shogun Ceanataur, you enter the Carapaceon Branch, and unlock the Heavy-Class (Akura Vashimu - And the other Scorpion creatures), and then the Apex Class (Juvenile Shen Gorens).

(Basically it goes like this: Drome --> Amphibian/Carapaceon --> Heavy --> Apex)

If you pick Fanged Wyverns, you evolve into a Medium-Class creature (Dodogama, Tobi-Kadachi, Kecha Wacha, etc). Depending on what you pick, you can go down a certain sub-branch.

If you pick (Dodogama, Tobi-Kadachi - or any four-legged carnivore), you enter the "Pelagus Sub-Branch", and unlock the Heavy-Class (Azuros, Lagombi, Caeserber, Kamu Orugaron, Volvidon, Midogaron, Slicemargl, etc), then unlocking the Apex-Class (Zinogre, Odogaron, Gammoth).

If you pick Kecha Wacha (Or any ape-like creature), you enter the "Primatius Sub-Branch", and unlock the Heavy-Class (Gogomoa, Lolo/Ray Gougarf, etc), then unlocking the Apex-Class (Rajang, Voljang, etc).

(Basically it goes like this: Drome --> Pelagus/Primatius --> Heavy --> Apex)

If you pick a bug type creature, their branch is going to act differently as well. If you pick say a Seltas, or any hive-drone creature you'll become a Seltas Queen (or a queen of said creature) as a Medium Monster. There you can diverge into either a large land-based or flying-based creature. Land-based you can turn into say, Mantis, Spiders (Nerscylla), land beetles, etc, while flying are say dragonflies, bees/wasps, etc. Each does have an apex stage.

(Basically it goes like this: Drone --> Queen --> Large Independent Bug (Land or Flying) --> Apex)

Elder Dragons will unfortunately be off limits, but your creature can get to the point where they can rival these creatures. For more info and creatures of these types, click here.

"Damn is this Dragon Lady fast." the hellknight thinks to himself as his suit's thrusters struggle to keep up with her.

He still has no idea where or who exactly this dragon lady is, but he's only thankful that she's here to even the odds out. She's practically carrying the entire team at this point, which makes characters like Mephilius seem rather useless in comparison. However, no doubt that if he didn't call for her to snap back into action during the Oasis fight with the Hydra, things could've gone a bit differently. Or maybe not, who knows. Either way, this dragon is certainly kicking ass and hastily carving a path for Hell to follow. But how long will this last before she bites something more she can chew?

Soon enough they come up upon the first pyramid. It was a grand looking marvel to be held indeed, with the lights issuing a warm fiery glow while right next to a calm river. It does initially seem like a welcoming place, but Mephilius knew better. Horrid creatures ought to lurk in these halls, perhaps creatures with bird-heads and crocodilian mouthes, maybe even an undead pharoh of some sort. It's only the first pyramid after all.

The dragon had entered the temple first before the Hell Knight could land by the shore of the river, but as he lands, he hears a loud roar booming from the giant structure. He rushes towards the pyramid's entrance, only to see the dragon lady engage battle with a large crocodile-headed humanoid while becoming intangled in the plants below her. Worse of all, it wielded water, something that both he and the dragon are quite vulnerable to, considering their powers are worse against it. Fire definitely won't be good here. The Knight will have to rely on brute strength and other rounds to do the job. Good thing he has kept his electrical bolts in his gunlance.

Mephilus quickly launches several electrical bolts at the crocodile, diverging his attention and possibly stunning him as he rushes forward at the beast, his thrusters launching him and his lance quickly towards him.

As Saef joins up with Lucifus' dash towards the next area, the former picks up the reading of a machina drone that's nearby. The archangel may not have the advanced tech that his partner has, but even he can pick up the signals that they're being watched. No doubt this drone is going to hone on their location and call for reinforcements. He may not know where it is, but they alas cannot afford to hide or focus in dealing with it just now.

"Be on a look out for it." the archangel replies to Saef as he continues flying, "If you see it, we'll shoot it down."

Lucifus then proceeds to whisper quietly towards Saef regarding their next possible strategy, just in case the drone was able to record audio.

"But now, let us make haste and diverge from the others in the first Pyramid. Chen and Ama are in one group, so we should team up for the time being. We can combine forces with the other duo once we reach the last pyramid and go from there."

With that said, Lucifus finds himself by the First Pyramid. As he comes out of the the forest, a mighty roar rippled through the trees, which appears to be coming from the pyramid itself. Whatever is lurking inside, it's big and possibly scaly. As he enters through the hallway, he sees two reptiles duking it out along with an armored hell knight. One was a crocodile deity who appears to be guarding the place, while the others were that demonic dragon lady and the armored demon. They seemed to be preoccupied with one another... could it be a chance for them to sneak around them?
@Dead Cruiser I may be no GM, but uh, how's that collab going? We're kinda waiting on you and Darkmoon to finish up. Can you give a public status on how that's going?

Callus pauses his advance as he listens to the announcement at hand, as well as the fairy's response prior to it, and continues thinking on the event that's currently happening. She's already stating the obvious to him, although she may not recognize his telepathic abilities which is quite understandable. The Draconian already knows about everything that is going out both in and out of the stadium, both with the rising tension of within and the agents deploying beyond the walls. He's not just an old figure that's lost his hearing through the years, otherwise he wouldn't have likely heard the word that there would even be a tournament today. These assumptions would've galled him considerably, but he has learned to keep his temper trampled beneath his unperturbed essence. Now he doesn't really care what many people think or call him, for he has succeeding in putting himself in peace. All what really matters is that he knows who he is, his strengths, his weaknesses, his capabilities, and everything else. And as long as he knows where he lies, he has little to doubt.

The Draconian continues listening to the fairy, notifying about what happened to the prior event at Rio, as well as trying to be the wisest person in the room. If only she recognized to whom she's talking to...

"Who." answers Callus as he faces towards the woman, "Who, is the question. Who are we facing with. Could it be that we're facing a terrorist organization wanting to cause chaos or a deity bent on vengeance. Yet there's absolutely no doubt that this storm has to do with the evil that is slowly creeping in. I'm certain of it."

He then proceeds to finally enter the archway.

"If I make haste," Callus mentions as he waits for the elevator, "I might be able to identify the looming threat before it arrives... I only hope that I'm not too late."

Aleksandr's horrendous attempt at humor seems to have a brief moment of surprising success before the woman declared her reasoning for going there. It's certainly clear that he's not the best when conducting comedy, but at the same time it can be considered as a serious question. It's a weird amalgamation of two polar opposite themes, making it difficult to figure out if it's one or the other. Could it be his weird sense of humor kicking in? Or perhaps its the lack of sleep for three full days that is finally beginning to affect him. It could be both for all he knows, yet the commando does consider the female warrior to be part of MAVERICKS. After all, who else in a metal suit consider asking a soldier like him directions to the spa. And ironically, Aleks strangely wasn't given that order to go. All Aleks was given was to patrol the nearby area of Otaru for this robot problem and that was it.

Strange.

But he might as well go along with this little event. The man clears his throat as he too drops his "act" and gets back to being serious

"Yes." he replies bluntly as he turns off his holographic projection, "I'm here for same thing. Pardon my aloofness... Lack of sleep can do things to you. Let's go."

My new bad nomand to be used as a mercenary-for-hire!

@Pirouette Hate to be a bother, but mind if you post for Mori? That way I can post for both Callus and Aleks at the same time.
