You can't just assign an entire fucking half of the team to other people. I call bullshit. JW already said he's considering dropping out because of this INCREDIBLE display of poor GM behaviour, and now I am too.
Either give us our teams back or JW and I are leaving. You have plenty of other people interested in this, so I'm sure they'll be glad to fill in the spots.
I'm sure it was an honest mistake. We do have nine pages of OOC banter after all. Let's tone down the hostility aand bad mouthing to all our fellow men, women, and hyper intelligent marsupials with Internet connection.
Your statement sounded awfully pushy in regards to people being able to post/having a post up quickly, especially with the "no one has actually posted in the IC" part, but no worries.
Hehe, sorry, tone's hard to convey in pure text and my verbiage was a touch too forceful for decency's sake.
As for the issue of teams, I don't see it being that big of a concern. For one the tourney is, from what I've surmised, a prologue. And since we aren't going to be focused as intensely on inter-personal conflict as a strictly PvP RP the imbalance isn't such a great threat as it could be.
Perhaps there will be a team or two or a solo player not strictly bound to a grouping. That just means they go less detected in a conflict and can better maintain the advantage of surprise while the larger teams focus down the bigger threats.
The opening post has been up for only a day. Not everyone can up and drop a multi-paragraph post right away at a moment's notice. Some people have jobs or school among other things that may keep them busy.
That statement sounds like you want to rush for the sake of rushing. Yes, this is a PvP-based scenario with fast paced combat, but speedposting can and will drive people away. I'm not saying everyone has to post every post cycle, but if people are literally unable to react to opposing players (e.g. a team preforming a flanking maneuver) due to speedposting, then yes, we have a problem.
I whole heartedly agree with your standing on speed posting, but that's missing my point entirely. I'm not against taking time to work on posts, but adding the four or five people who are already cued up in a de-factor waiting list when we already have, as you say, jobs and other things to keep us busy, won't do anything to help us along.
At the very least we need to see how we operate with the nine people we have before we consider expansion or contraction of the player base.
Wouldn't more people slow down the over all post cycles? Especially when this is starting in a PvP scenario were we all have to wait to react to anyone around our characters for fairness sake.
And considering no one has actually posted IC we may not want to slow things down even more.

A generally stolid and down to earth young woman, lacking in lofty ambition as she carries on through life. She tended to be very reserved and rarely interacted on a personal level with others, her exterior hiding a discomfort with getting close to others. Koga never adopted any strong beliefs and presented herself as put together, but unremarkable. It's a small miracle she was latched onto by a mooching red head in kindergarten or she'd be bereft of any contact she actively wanted.
Koga graduated high school intending to enter college but found she had no drive for any particular degree and instead found herself swept along as the straight woman to her air headed best friend's dreams of internet fame. It seemed as good a path as any and it saved her the expense of college debt, so she went along with it while maintaining a low commitment job to get by on her own.
With a resting expression that is naturally severe she doesn't have many close acquaintances outside, leaving her ample time to try her hand at nurturing the fan base of the up-and-coming Gudako. It can be tiring work given the girl's tendency to make claims she can never hope to achieve but it's at least enjoyable. Her hope is to remain behind the scenes and manage things, usually finding herself up late into the wee hours of the morning editing videos and managing social media accounts.
In short, she's management, and to her eternal bemusement behind closed doors, she enjoys it.

Roche isn't much for being fancy. She wants the job done and she doesn't care if anyone gives her a D in Style Points. Incendiary weapons are her main tool of choice, an overwhelming tide of fire and chemicals to burn her enemies out while concealing herself amidst smoke and flame. Wielding an exotic Gauntlet-mounted flamethrower, she needs only one hand to fire and thus utilizes a great deal of explosives and utility grenades to flush out enemies or protect herself and allies.
That a roaring inferno makes an excellent backdrop for others to fight is an added bonus.

Her name was not Roach, but that didn’t stop the phone from belching it out into her at a god forsaken hour of the morning.
Koga Ooe, or more commonly known by her universal online Nome De Guerre of Roche, awoke with her cheek pressed to the cool surface of a desk with her arms splayed over a keyboard and the dimmed light of her monitor seeming as baleful as the sun to her gaze. Flinching away from the offending illumination she reared up against the padding of her swivel chair and grimaced at the crack of cartilage and bone.
”Ugh.” Koga groaned as she reached out for a glass of tepid water she’d thoughtfully pushed far from her sleeping position, finding the relief of moisture on her throat helped to rouse the senses. It brought with it a chill passing beneath the hem of an over-sized T-shirt draped over her and providing none of the warmth the alluring mattress over yonder tempted her with.
She wanted it badly, but the incessant ringing of her phone forced her hand and answered the device with a grim swiftness. Delaying would only make it worse, of that she was certain when this particular ring tone sounded.
It didn’t last a minute yet her explosive sigh spoke of the strain it put upon her. A lesser person would have hid beneath their bed covers and waited the approaching horror out, but the more experienced Koga knew full well the bane of her sleep schedule had a key and would drag her from bed without a second thought.
Better instead to prepare for the inevitable and get a pot of coffee brewing. So she resigned herself to her fate and pushed the chair away from her desk, only to pause as the jostling re-ignited the screens brightness and compelled the monitor to reveal it's secrets. There before her was the upload of their latest video, a dungeon guide if the title was to be believed.
It had finished some hours ago and already the view count was in the dozens. Nothing to brag about but it brought a serene smile to her haggard lips regardless. The memory of absolute desolation in the views department was not so old she couldn't appreciate every last one that came her way. Koga nodded to herself and left the computer behind, resigned to be carried along on the whirlwind of Ryuko's obsession. Resigned, but content.
Perhaps it was because she was the only one there to be spared the Magical Girl's glare and thus ignored, or maybe it was her bold declaration that spurred her on, but Kanbaru could not even fathom restraining the peels of derisive laughter that poured past her lips. With an arm wrapped around her gut and the other clutching the desk in a manic grasp, she belted out raucous chuckles as though she heard the greatest joke to grace her ears.
And when it came to a sudden halt she adopted a smile that was chilling in the absence of mania. Painfully sane and fully aware of herself, she stood and loomed over the invalid without a threatening mannerism to be seen.
"You've got this backwards. You think we don't have any hope? That we flinched and faltered while you carried on fighting the good fight? That's a hoot. From where I'm standing, life is grand. I've got a room full of swell friends, a charismatic leader who understands and inspires us, and every night I can see that my work makes a tangible difference and empowers us all to be even better the next night."
Kanbaru released her midsection and settled the palm upon a cocked hip while her gaze focused solely upon the Hag's own pupils in an unblinking stare. "Now look at you. Alone and posturing in front of people who should have nothing but animosity towards you. Who have had their sanctuary intruded upon and been affronted by such open hostility."
"But you know, if we justifiable took out our ire on you, we'd be proving all your misconceptions correct in your mind. You think you have the moral high ground, whereas we deny any such place exists, sooooo~" In the blink of an eye she stepped aside and swept her arm out over the class as though offering it on a platter to the interloper. "Why don't you join us for our Christmas deliberations. You may call this a time of mourning but we still have a holiday to celebrate and one more mouth won't break our budget. Come on, we won't bite if you don't~"
