I'm only a consulting GM, but I don't think Transformers are really in the 'spirit' of the game that Master Bruce is running here.

B A C K G R O U N D....The individual 'Evie' is an enigma, splashed and adorned in obscene colors of gaudy embellishment, tales spun through elaborate gestures and broad smiles, an obtuse bearing grin and laughter wed to the brim with delight. Lived and told of jovial pursuits in life edged with manic, euphoric dalliances. Felt, but never seen, flitting through life as a touch of radiance: blinding and adoring and suddenly never there. She is razor nails linked and edged in metallic and hole-punched ears, smoke and ash fallen on her curling tongue found to be entirely charming with loosely spun utterances and darling drawls of a Southern Belle with prettily enunciated endearments: 'Oh bless your heart.'
....Evelyn has been studied as an eternal creature of the sun, a glowing lamplight of existence therein to eclipse the shadows of unknown origins, smothered in the brightest of lights to cast the darkest of shadows. An overbearing wraith that stands on high as a would-be defiler of torment to shade blonde and blue bearings with a waif figure adorned in chimes, trinkets, delicate touches of dainty jewels befitting a royal dame rather than an Agent acclimated to espionage. Uttered as the literal cloak and dagger, a silent creature that stalks through establishments unseen and unheard; a ghost, a specter, an illusion that phases through wall and shadow. The apparition ornamented in shades of grey as monochromatic conspiracies of what one would refuse to acknowledge or endure, the underbelly of society in which she thrives because someone has to.
....A child found wallowing in the swamp and marshlands of Louisiana, thrown through reeds and muck and grime, an orphan babe thought pitiful, forlorn, and silent-bound clung to cypress trees. The assumed year of her birth was hastily scrawled on loose sheets of paper, her likeness embellished with coiling, barrel girls, saturated eyes of blue and dusted pink on cherub bearings to promote health and vigor, to charm and ploy and pry into families that would see her in awe, fostering her with care and intention to fill empty homes and vacant hearts. From home to home, Evelyn was shuffled and plucked, moved at a constant pace through each sparkling American family that sought to preen and pride itself on its image of an ill-fated dream unachievable by mortal depravity. Darling nicknames here and there, attached as leashed monikers to bribe and coax words from her, small names of family attached as loose-stitch merits, praise unwanted or unheard as she refused to entertain them, even as a small child. She didn’t speak until the Dark Eclipse as the world stood still, bridling through adult and child alike in throes of concentrated energy that would shift the destinies of all. She unleashed laughter and song and accented words with impacted vowels and shortened whispers.
....Age eventually wore her out of the system, family after family trading her for less. Evelyn cycled through doors and arms for years, learned their particular graces of home, learned to speak and soothe and phase through them all. Appearing in places she should not be, never quite belonging but always present.
....It was not long before she briefly entered the home of [REDACTED].
....It all goes hazy and murky when she crests adulthood with a meager education in hand and shadows worn into the light of her exuberance. At only eighteen, Evelyn Deveraux vanishes from public society, gone unnoticed and unheeded, just another statistic lost under a crumbling system of war-orphaned children.
1Speculated Birthdate.________________________________________________________________________________________R E C R U I T M E N T
R E C R U I T M E N T....Virumosis ravages her body swiftly, every cellular structure expanding, twisting, painful awakenings that erupt at the age of eleven and push outward before sluicing through slivers of skin and bone that phase out into whispers of ethereal wisps. It ebbs and flows, and Evelyn is left with the hideous sensations that canter through her body as she unwittingly phases through objects, materials, even people with little control possessed to temper the occurrence. As a child, it goes unnoticed whilst she moves from place to place, interlinking her fingers through doors, walls, and glass, fringing onto shadow and light as dust motes intimately twining through shaded darkness.
....Through time, Evelyn lingers close to fortified facilities, leans in just so to decipher utterances of phrases and curious words exchanged under breaths. From one place, and then another, casually trespassing onto high-security properties, blinking out of view as she merely drops into basements and chambers and vaults. She doesn’t take anything of material value, not quite; it’s information she seeks, names she hunts, looking toward and for answers that she’ll use another day, for another time. Realistically, it’s just because she can. She plays the part, laughs and soothes, and bribes; moves along to an unheard song and dance. There’s little to inspire a criminal penchant, for the world is donned with shades of grey, and she the pinprick of light in its perpetual gloom with an eternal smile. Her appetite gradually wanes until Evelyn wonders a little closer than she should, beside an unmarked, unassumed building, unbeknownst to her, that immediately casts her likeness upon H.E.L.P’s radar, particularly the Enforcement and Response Division, which results in a constant cat and mouse game for two years. She performs just enough to be interesting, walks into establishments she shouldn't, smiles at the camera, and then whisks away. Not enough to advertise her differences publicly or to be worthy of immediate recruitment, much to the vexation of her soon-to-be superiors, not until Evelyn manages to [REDACTED]
....It goes without saying, upon immediate detention, that ‘Evie’ is introduced to the Bureau officially.________________________________________________________________________________________C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A U
C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A U....Evelyn is sporadically deployed for rather lengthy operations, an inconsistent career that employs her skillset for less than desirable situations and interactions that H.E.L.P would rather not be publicized. The other side of the coin, so to speak, that has Evelyn loosely labeled as a 'Fixer', a particular brand of Agent that operates primarily on solo missions, assigned to distinct underhanded methods and dealings that fester in favor of the undesirable person she has been assigned to 'fix'. In seven years with the Bureau, Evelyn has secured an alarming success rate. P H O T O I D E N T I F I C A T I O N_________________________________________________________

__PRIMARY CLASSIFICATION || Esoteric
__SECONDARY CLASSIFICATION || Dynamic
__POWER SCALE || TBD
__THREAT CLASSIFICATION || TBD....Evelyn's virumosis wracked body can phase through a vast assortment of physical matter and materials, feeling her skin and bones and blood vibrate apart and back, fizzling outward into ghost-like tendrils off-white and silvered as she pushes outward and steps through. She can feel the grit of stone or slivers of metal through every link of the expanded cells of her figure or selected limb. She phases in and out, a flicker of a thought or shuddering emotion that also wills objects to pass through her and she through brick and motor and even earth. Evelyn can also phase through flesh and bone of others, interlinking her fingers through soft skin and hardened bone, and solidifying within, taking hold and rendering them immobile from the inside out.
....Evelyn is also capable of fusing objects and people; she pushes and intertwines high-energy particles through her body, concentrating vast quantities through her hands or portions of her body. She can push and pull through matter, provided she has a secure grasp, pulling objects or people through in the same manner she can phase through materials.
L I M I T A T I O N S ||....Evelyn struggles with thick constructs, though able to phase through them, it sometimes takes longer than usual and introduces a unique fear of Claustrophobia. Massive objects that she attempts to pull through also prove difficult, as do more than one person that she attempts to phase and fuse with. Overloading masses of HZEs can also overwhelm Evelyn and disrupt her flow, vibrating molecules struggling to solidify and snap back together, as can intense waves of sound. Her glassy, weak constitution also limits the number of times Evelyn can phase her entire body through matter, requiring periods of rest in between vast and rapid usage.
W E A K N E S S E S ||....Whilst phasing and stepping through, Evelyn is suspended in a brief, minute state of vulnerability, though capable of ignoring most physical constructs and dangers, she cannot react or respond in this particular state. Intense agony sears through her limbs when she phases, as Evelyn is incredibly sensitive and subjective to what is happening to her body. Able to bypass most objects, Evelyn, however, cannot resist Electron Beam Irradiation; her body locks up, contorts, and shudders, proving her to be overly sensitive to inhibitors. Physical touch also unnerves her, unless she initiates. Evelyn goes out of her way to avoid coming into contact with others.

She can also render other people and objects intangible by touching them. When phasing through extremely dense materials, such as adamantium, Kitty experiences pain and disorientation as well as those with dense metals in their bodies should she phase through them. Kitty is capable of phasing any amount of her body through objects as well as humans, leaving them unconscious. Kitty is also capable of killing another being by phasing them into a solid object and then releasing them, causing them to solidify while still within the object. Kitty has trained herself to reflexively assume her intangible state at any indication of danger, such as a loud noise like a gunshot, to protect herself. Kitty can disrupt electronic devices by passing through them in this manner without harm to herself. When she uses this ability in the opposite direction, she can levitate herself by walking on air, as if she were walking up a flight of stairs. In her intangible state, she is weak against certain energies, psionic and mystical attacks. While in phase form, Kitty has a remarkable resistance to psychic probing and psionic attacks, and she the potential to be able to use her phasing abilities to perform surgery, essentially phasing cancerous growths out of people's bodies. One theory that could potentially explain Kitty Pryde's power of intangibility is that of "spintronics". This theory is based on electrostatic repulsion, which is the force that keeps subatomic objects from passing through one another. Electrons naturally repel each other and instead of positive or negative charge, electrons have what is called "spin", which is based on a random pattern of up and down. If Kitty can rearrange her molecules into an organized manner so that they are "polarized" with the objects she is trying to pass through, then she can pull her molecules through objects (like a molecular magnet) by controlling the spin on all of the particles in her body. By reversing the polarity on air, she can then air walk by making the air around her much harder. This also explains why she disrupts electronic systems since she basically polarizes the spin of electrons in objects she passes through and drastically changes the conducting forces in circuitry. ◼ LOCKHEED Coming Soon to an IC near you. - T O O L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ KATANA Equipped with a pair of katanas during her time as Ogun's Shadowcat, Kitty is an accomplished swordsman due to her programming at the hands of the Samurai Master. His agility far surpasses that of an Olympic-level gymnast, and his bone structure allows him great flexibility. His spine is more flexible than an ordinary human, enabling him to remain in a crouched position for a long time and perform contortionist-type feats without causing any damage to his spine. Nightcrawler's balance and bodily coordination are all enhanced to superhuman levels. He can cling to surfaces through microscopic suction cups located on the pads of his hands and feet. However, some surfaces are so frictionless that he cannot cling to them. He also possesses superhuman dexterity, being able to manipulate items and fence with either hand as well as his tail. ◼ TELEPORTATION Kurt Wagner is a mutant whose primary mutant power is the ability to teleport himself, his clothing, and a certain amount of additional mass from one point to another virtually instantaneously. He teleports by displacing himself into the Brimstone Dimension, travelling through it, and then returning to his own dimension at a certain distance from his point of departure. He consciously determines his point of return. The entire process occurs so quickly that Nightcrawler is unaware of being in the Brimstone Dimension at all. Nightcrawler guides himself through the Brimstone Dimension by a subconscious, natural direction-finding sense. Although Nightcrawler controls his teleportation ability with his conscious mind, his power to teleport is not psionic. Rather, it is the result of an unknown biochemical/biophysical reaction which he triggers mentally. He can teleport distances of up to two miles (3 km) under optimal conditions. The longer the distance over which Nightcrawler teleports himself, the harder and more exhausting it is for him to make the teleportation "jump". It is easier for him to teleport between north and south (along Earth's magnetic field lines) than it is for him to teleport between east and west (against the magnetic lines). Under optimal conditions, teleporting only himself and his costume, Nightcrawler can displace himself a distance of about two miles east-to-west, and up to three miles north-to-south. Making a vertical teleportation upwards is difficult and dangerous, fighting against both the electromagnetic and gravitational fields. He possesses a limited unconscious extrasensory "spatial awareness" ability which prevents him from teleporting into solid objects within his immediate vicinity, but this ability diminishes the greater the distance he teleports. Because teleporting into other solid matter would cause severe injury or death, he will only teleport to an area he is familiar with or that he can see at the time or has seen in the past. His power automatically displaces liquids and gases when he arrives. The process of teleportation places a strain on his endurance and that of any passengers; carrying mass other than his body and clothing when teleporting adds additional strain to his body. Through practice, he has been able to teleport with a passenger over a long distance without exhausting himself. Extensive training has raised his tolerance for teleportation, but most of his passengers lack this tolerance. Therefore, one of his tactics is to grab opponents and make several quick teleportations with them. They usually become weakened or even pass out from the strain. After Nightcrawler teleports, he leaves behind the smoke and a faint scent of burning brimstone; this is a small portion of the atmosphere of the dimension through which he travels when he teleports. His teleportation power is due to a biophysical/biochemical reaction he consciously triggers within himself. A loud "bamf" noise is always present whenever he teleports (being the sound of air rushing to fill the space he was just occupying). His teleporting also causes a slight change in the atmosphere before he arrives, although only superhumans with heightened senses can detect it. ◼ UNIQUE MUTANT PHYSIOLOGY Nightcrawler has only three digits (including an opposable thumb) on each hand. He also has only two toes on each foot, each longer than an ordinary human's, with a toe-like protrusion on his heels (which allows him to grip with his feet). He has a prehensile tail, approximately 3'6" long, which could support his own weight. Nightcrawler has pointed ears and pronounced fang-like canine teeth. His spine is more flexible than an ordinary human being's, allowing him to spend much of his time in a semi-crouching position without damaging his posture and enabling him to perform contortionist-like feats. His body is almost entirely covered with a fine blue-colored fur. He can blend into shadows, both as a result of this indigo-coloured fur and the dimensional portal which always surrounds his body and absorbs photons. The Brimstone dimension he travels through constantly bends the light around him, making him appear in shadow during normal daylight and rendering him nearly invisible in the dark. Nightcrawler's prehensile tail is dexterous enough to allow him to grab onto objects with relative ease. His tail is strong enough to not only support his body weight, but also lift an adult man completely off the ground at the same time, and is deft enough to fight with while wielding a sword or blunt object. T H E S T O R Y S O F A R... Unlike metahumans, mutants had existed long before the word 'superheroes' became common jargon. James Howlett was one such mutant, born in the mid-1880s in Northern Alberta. Upon the night of his father's murder, James' mutant abilities manifested, and he stabbed his father's killer, Thomas Logan, before fleeing with his caretaker and best friend, Rose O'Hara, into the wilderness, while Thomas' son, Dog Logan, told the police that Rose had murdered Thomas. The pair were inseparable, and their bond grew and evolved well past friendship while living on the lam. Their time together cemented their love for one another as they found a small mining community and integrated into it. James would go to work in the mines while Rose tended to their home. This all changed when Dog Logan, at the behest of James' grandfather, tracked the pair down. This encounter forced James to put Dog down. Despite having already seen James kill once before, something changed into Rose as James was forced to kill their former friend. She slipped away in the middle of the night, leaving only a note. This, combined with taking another life, broke something inside of James, and he fled into the wild. Living among the dense Canadian Wilderness, Logan was adopted by a pack of wolves over which he quickly exerted dominance. Living among animals, he became one himself, and the feral man became something of a local legend, at least until his encounter with a small Blackfoot community where the feral James was introduced to a woman named Silver Fox. Due to a combination of his feral period and the trauma, James's mind had regressed to a point where he no longer remembered his name. This led Silver Fox to dub him 'Piinotoyi'. During this time, a serial killer dubbed 'The Slasher' was working his way across Alberta. Encountering Silver Fox on a trip into town, the incognito killer stalked the woman while she was buying gifts to celebrate Piinotoyi's birthday. The Slasher had other plans and followed Silver Fox from the small town before attacking her. Piinotoyi intercepted too late, flying into a rage over Silver Fox's body and attacking the Slasher. The Slasher ultimately emerged the victor, but not before savouring the fight and promising Piinotoyi their paths would cross again. Devastated by the loss of Silver Fox and having seen Piinotoyi fight against the Slasher, the Black Foot gave Piinotoyi another new name, 'Carcajou', before banishing him not to return until he had properly taken vengeance for Silver Fox's death. Tracking the Slasher, Caracjou was eventually led back to the Howlett Estate, completely unaware of its significance due to his lost memories. Bearing an undeniable resemblance to both Thomas and Dog Logan, Caracjou was mistaken as the younger Logan and brought before his own senile and aged grandfather, who offered him Thomas' old role of groundskeeper. With the Slasher in the wind and no leads, the newly dubbed 'Logan' accepted the job. When the Great War rolled about, Logan was drafted and enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. His mutant abilities were eventually outed, leading to Logan becoming part of the Devil's Brigade. A special unit tasked with the most suicidal missions in the war, the Devil's Brigade was under the command of Silas Burr, another mutant. Logan's time in the Devil's Brigade earned him an invitation to the Weapon Plus Program, where he was assigned to Team X. A part of this special operations, Logan was ever the man on the move, travelling the globe carrying out covert operations. During these travels, he encountered and earned the respect of Ogun Ryu, a martial master and disciplined samurai who offered to train Logan in the ways of Bushido. Logan declined and continued on with Team X, serving the unit through the Second World War, where a special interest was taken in Logan. Unbeknownst to Logan or the other members of Team X, their memories were constantly being manipulated, wiped and replaced with false ones at the end of every mission. Already a man with a fractured mind, Logan eventually forgot about his mission of vengeance against the Slasher. The Slasher, however, had been going by the alias, Sabertooth and was also recruited to fight on Team X, Logan happily working alongside the man he had promised to kill. Selected to be Weapon X, Logan underwent an experimental procedure that bonded the metallic alloy known as Adamantium to his skeleton, before fusing completely with him. Under the effects of his healing factor, the Adamantium further evolved, becoming an integral part of him and recognized as Adamantium Beta. During his time with Weapon X, Logan was heavily sedated and controlled through a helmet, giving him false memories and turning him into a sort of puppet for the Program. He was even forced to kill an entire town, wanting to test if Logan would do any assignment. His abilities were put to the test. Eventually, Logan was able to resist the mind-control and break free from the facility. Enraged and more beast than man, he killed nearly anyone who stood in his way, leaving behind a trail of bodies. Despite his shattered memories, Logan retained Ogun's offer to train him. Finding his way to Japan, Logan mastered bushido, finding peace again to accept love in the form of Itsu, Ogun's daughter. But under the orders of the Weapon Plus Program, Sabertooth had been sent to track Logan down. Unable to best Logan this time, Sabertooth killed Itsu, re-igniting Logan's quest for vengeance while sending Ogun down one of his own. Only this time it was against Logan. Logan and Sabertooth would go on to tangle several more times, each time bloodier than the last. But neither was ever able to put the other down. Their blood feud even outlasted the Weapon Plus Progam as the events of the Reach's invasion forced the doors to close on the program lest it be compared to the horrors inflicted by the alien insurgents. But in the wake of the Reach came something far worse. Despite the horrors the Reach inflicted on those they experimented upon, metahumans and mutants alike are viewed as Reach sympathizers, even allies. Repulsed by these 'creatures', a sect of extremists known as the Purifiers began hunting down mutants and metahumans alike, with a special target on Wolverine's back. But it was not only the Purifiers after Logan. Ogun's chance for vengeance also presented itself when a man named Carmen Pryde found himself in debt to Ogun Ryu. As Ogun had lost his daughter, so too did it cost Carmen his daughter, Katherine, whom Ogun had manipulated and reprogrammed into an assassin of his own before eventually unleashing the 'Shadowcat' against the former Weapon X. During a confrontation in Madripoor, Logan and Shadowcat fought, with Logan eventually able to break Katherine of her programming. Reuniting the girl with her father, Logan promised to find a way to pay Carmen's debt. Unfortunately, the Purifiers had already discovered their location and to save his daughter, Carmen sacrificed his own life, needlessly jumping in the path of a bullet meant for Katherine, who would have phased through it. With nowhere left to turn and forced on the run, Logan begrudgingly took Katherine on as the pair fled Madripoor, finding themselves on a boat to Germany. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) Kitty and Logan are a pretty natural pairing in the comics, but I always enjoyed the dynamic that X-Men Evolution presented between Kitty and Kurt. Building on that, Kurt and Logan at times have a fun dynamic, so I figured what better plot than to have this little dysfunctional father-daughter combo running around with a potential love interest. They're loners who are on the run, they're not affiliated with the X-Men or any other established team. They know they're hated mutants, and they're being hunted. Logan is running from something in his past that has ties to Kitty as well, and Kurt gets pulled into it, eventually proving himself an invaluable ally to the pair. The boon of playing this trio is that they're still able to keep up with some of DC's and Marvel's heavier hitters, allowing the 'Exiles' to crossover into other plots and larger events. I'm looking forward to playing some new characters while doing world-building in the mutant corner of the 'Verse. Ideally, expanding the world vision that these three currently see and taking them from mutants on the run to something larger than themselves. |
We also have no Flash, Cap or Thor. We usually have atleast one of them. and they're usually played by me

B A C K G R O U N DVietnam. A land cursed by a war in which no man won, where no man left its fields without but many scars laden across themselves. And a member of the citizenry, Dominique Ngô was a person who hadn’t been one of the few to escape its trials. Born the bastard child of a French academic and a Vietnamese farmer, only but a few miles north of Hue, the world in which they emerged into was not one that should not have been faced by a child but so pure. With a loss of their mother after birth whose face they had never been given a chance to see, for but most of this short time within their life, that is only remembered in clouded fragments of half memories, it was only two within the household they live; a lone father and the child in which they bore responsibility. They lived in a landscape of napalm fires that burned the fields in which their father tilled, but till his back gave out. They hid within the compartments, tucked away in hidden spots from soldiers of both sides' war that waved either the red or yellow banner depending on who passed.
As the years passed and the war only continued to rage on in the Vietnamese countryside, it was not long before Dominique’s father had decided to flee the country. As the North made its final push in the year of ‘75, Dominique had been placed upon a boat of refugees headed to Canada. Alone, they stood in their voyage across the sea, as there had only been but one spot available upon the rickety ship which ferried those across the ocean to a land where they would find a new life. It was a journey not for the faint, the waves were unforgiving to those aboard as it tossed and turned their vessel, not made for such a journey in the first place.
Dominique was a child, alone in a vessel so unfamiliar, surrounded by faces so unfamiliar, heading for a land so utterly foreign from all they had lived till this moment. And in but only a few days into their trip, they felt a change. Their body went hot as they sat in the darkness of the cabin, their stomach groaning as something shifted. Skin twisting and turning and molding into something so unfamiliar, hair grew into long locks upon their face, as even those small intricate patterns that marked one's hand were contorted into a different pattern. Dominique left the boat a different person than when they had boarded it. With a face so different not even they recognize it as their own. Wearing a skin that wasn’t theirs, in a land so new that nobody but themself even knew it was so.
For Dominique, their life had held no clear path forward, no light guiding their trek, not a hint of the north star in the night sky. The young child learned through the trials of homelessness the art of survival, the path hidden in the grime to make little out of nothing. To scavenge for scraps to feed the ever-growing pit within their stomach was a task often hard to accomplish. To learn the tongue of this new land which their father sent them to for opportunities greater than those they would’ve had back home. As the days passed, the pursuit of more aided Dominique to learn their ability. To shackle the dragon that terrorized their life, and to master its control were endeavors that took years of their life to even begin to start. By the age of sixteen, Dominique, after a stint of several petty robberies using their abilities, was picked up by the likes of H.E.L.P., who had received a tip about a young local hype. After being taken under the wing of the organization, Dominique was enrolled in specialized schooling to continue on the rest of their adolescent life under the watchful eye of H.E.L.P., who assisted them in gaining mastery over their ability.________________________________________________________________________________________R E C R U I T M E N T
R E C R U I T M E N TFollowing their graduation from secondary schooling in Canada, Dominique continued their education at the University of British Columbia, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology before attending the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and achieving a master of Arts in Criminal Justice. And throughout such time, continually improving upon their control over the ability that first stood as a confusing hex upon their life. Eventually, returning to the organization that helped pull them out of the struggle initially, Dominique applied and was accepted as a probationary.________________________________________________________________________________________C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A U
C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A UDominique’s career within the ranks of H.E.L.P. has been one that was dwarfed compared to the likes of their comrades. Quick on their feet, sharp in the mind, and familiar with the workings of the organization, Dominique quickly moved on from their days as a probationary agent. Since their formal induction to the rank of special agent only two years prior, the brevity of their career does not define the accomplishments they have made in such a short time. The pinnacle of undercover investigation within their division, Dominique has contributed heavily to the case in which they are assigned, for who is better at surveillance than who has no set face, no set voice.
For when a case gets hot, there is no better disguise than that of the people searching for you. Dominique is an agent mostly known only by name and the light-hearted tricks they play upon their comrades. A career laden with an often tense relationship with authority and a stubbornness unmoved by its will. Despite their problems with those of higher rank, the effectiveness of their ability and performance on the field has been an undeniable factor in their tenure. __THREAT CLASSIFICATION || TBDDominique Ngô is a hyperhuman who presents the ability of Somatic Atomic Reconfiguration, commonly referred to as shapeshifting. This ability, as documented through the observations of one [REDACTED], allows the user to reconfigure the molecular structure that composes their body, allowing Ngô to manipulate all facets of the human appearance, including but not limited to through current observation: hair (and its facets), eye color, skin color, body shape, height, weight, and other bodily features. The process by which Ngô can reconfigure the atoms in their body involves the use of the stored HZE ions concentrated within. These special particles attach to the body's atoms, breaking the chemical bonds that hold them together to allow movement of them into different orders, as well as being the spark that recreates these bonds to produce different combinations in order to achieve Ngô’s desired change. And if the body does not possess enough mass to produce the desired changes, it will use energy to extend the HZE ions to pull the elements that the human body is constructed of out of the environment to compensate for the deficit.
L I M I T A T I O N S & W E A K N E S S E S ||
E T E R N A L V O R A C I T Y & O V E R H E A T I N GThe process of using their ability requires a vast amount of energy from Ngô to complete any such rearrangement. The amount of energy needed is not uniform, however, it is based upon the amount of change to the molecular structure, which has occurred under their direction, scaling exponentially as Ngô requires surrounding atoms to add more mass to their body or remove mass from their body. The consequences of this facet of their power ignite their metabolism into overdrive, requiring copious amounts of sustenance in order to gain the required amount of energy to complete a transformation successfully. However, the amount of food required heavily relies on the amount of changes to their atomic structure performed as mentioned prior.
The reconfiguration and building of bonds of the atoms within their body are exothermic reactions. In light of such a fact, the changing of appearance by Ngô continually heats up their body, with the amount of heat built up depending on how big the changes are. The heat produced is usually negligible for transformations which occur in distant intervals from each other, but in situations in which Ngô manipulates their atom structure multiple times within a short time period this heat will build to levels which become detrimental, spurring symptoms of sickness and, on rare occasions, even heatstroke.

B A C K G R O U N DJane was born and raised in the charming German Village nestled just outside the bustle of Columbus’s downtown. Born to a pair of doctors, one an immigrant from Australia, and the other from Canada, Jane did not want for much growing up. Her childhood years were spent walking the brick roads of her hometown, enjoying the fantastic food scene that began to spring up around her, and experiencing the best education her family could find in this idyllic community. Jane had fantastic grades and excelled in sports like basketball and Football, where her ability to seemingly score from anywhere made her a fan favorite.
Things began to unravel when she was thirteen years old. News had broken about Hyperhumans and their incredible powers. While Jane did not initially think this would affect her or anyone she knew, others were not so sure. A rival on her sports team became convinced that she was a Hyperhuman and was dead set on proving it. One day, after practice, the girl and several of her friends pulled Jane into a side room and began to attack her. They demanded she admit that she was a freak who was using her power to benefit. The blows kept landing as Jane professed her innocence, and the blows would continue to fall despite it. At least, until the blows stopped landing. Unbeknownst to Jane, the trauma of the altercation had triggered her gene, and a forcefield had begun to soften the blows, absorb the force of impact, and store that energy for use later. Jane’s emotions began to swell, and with a defiant ‘stop’ she accidentally released the stored energy and threw her assailants away with force. Most of the girls suffered broken bones, many suffered concussions, and Jane was left sitting in a pool of her blood, shocked at the sight of what she had just done. Even though she had never used her powers before, at her school, she was now a freak who everyone assumed had. All her accomplishments, all her accolades, were now gone, and her ability to continue playing the sports she loved was stripped from her. Jane would fall into a depression, a pit she has yet to fully climb out of.
Her parents did not treat her any differently, however, as they were medical professionals and understood that there was something medical at play. Above all else, they knew, with the paranoia and hatred at play, that their kid needed to learn how to hide and control these powers. The family uprooted their quiet and peaceful life in Ohio and moved North to her father's home country of Canada, settling down in Toronto. They gave their kid a fresh start away from as much of the crazy as they could. They helped Jane learn more about her power, and how to keep it contained without further outbursts but this meant that for her High School years, Jane was more sheltered, alone, and distant. Jane retreated into her studies, eventually she finished High School before she followed her father's footsteps, returning to America, and enrolled in the Ohio State University and began to pursue a degree in Psychology.________________________________________________________________________________________R E C R U I T M E N T
R E C R U I T M E N TIt was just after she finished her Bachelor’s degree that she was finally discovered by H.E.L.P. She was at a house party back in Toronto and, as one does, was playing cornhole with her friends. A rather rude man had boasted about his playing ability one too many times, and Jane had had enough. She challenged him, outright, and he happily accepted. He was less happy when every throw seemed to veer ever so off course, however. Either it nearly went into the hole or fell just short, or its momentum seemingly carried on for a second or two too long, and the bag slid off the end. Jane dominated the game thanks to her ability, and the sad thing was she didn’t even need to use her ability to do so. She seemed to be able to sink shots from any angle without it. The drunk men did not notice her use of ability, nor did the rest of the crowd, but the H.E.L.P. P agent who had arrived at the party noticed the subtle twist and twitch of her hands on every throw the man made. She was picked up by a squad later that night and taken back to the station for questioning. It was during these sessions that Jane proved the worth of her education as she got to know the agents very well by shaping the conversation and getting to the root of who these agents were, what their problems were, and how they could begin to tackle them.
Jane was moved to a new office and held for a week, and it was here the full extent of her abilities were uncovered. Not only did she have the barrier that protected her, but she also held the ability to adjust the trajectory of objects in the air. Jane made a strong first impression with her education, and then continued to impress with her skills demonstration. She was given two options. Either she could become one of the statistics that filled the evening news, or she could put her education and skills to use with H.E.L.P., and further her understanding of her abilities. She quickly chose the option that celebrated her skills and allowed them to flourish.________________________________________________________________________________________C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A U
C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A UThus far, Jane has not had the chance to do as much work as she would like. She has instead focused on her training, the development of her skills, and furthering her own education to make herself an attractive candidate for the group. She has added a second degree to her belt, a BA in Criminal Justice. Her goal has always been to use her skillset and her education to be one of the agents who helped profile a target, and to not be a liability if she was brought in to take them down. While dealing with Hyperhumans was different than dealing with serial rapists or murderers, there was still an art to the science of tracking them. Jane has pushed relentlessly to join the group outside of being an outside contractor, and eventually she was given her wish as she is now a New Agent Trainee. She is incredibly fresh, but excited to finally make her mark. P H O T O I D E N T I F I C A T I O N_________________________________________________________

__THREAT CLASSIFICATION || DeltaJane's Hyperhuman gift manifests in both a passive and active way. Passively, Jane has a barrier up around her at all times that causes a steady drain of her stored HZE ions. While she is not focused, the barrier is weak but able to deflect and absorb the impact of many slow-moving objects or weak forces. A thrown object would be guided away from her body as if a moving current of water picked it up, a punch would connect with the barrier but a portion of the force would be absorbed by the barrier, and an object that did pierce the barrier would find it slowed down significantly before it hit Jane herself. When Jane concentrates on this ability, she charges the barrier and can manipulate it. She will be able to stop or deflect faster-moving objects, including some bullets, thus keeping herself protected. She can also extend the barrier to cover herself and others by expending some of her stored HZE Ions. If she expands the barrier outward, she will find that it drains her at a rapid pace. The barrier converts the kinetic energy of these impacts into potential energy that is stored within the barrier itself. Jane can unleash the energy willingly when needed, or it will release itself when it reaches a certain threshold, sending a shockwave outward while also depleting the barrier for five minutes.
Jane can also manipulate objects in motion by expending her HZE ions to extend her barrier and enveloping the object within it. She cannot grab a still object; instead, she is limited to something that already has that kinetic motion. Jane will also be unable to stop an object entirely, only adjust its trajectory. Jane has developed a use for this with various throwing weapons that she will bring on a mission. She will throw out a knife and then guide it to a target, whether that target is running, behind cover, or still. This manipulation can also extend to people, and she is a natural counter to speedsters and other Hyperhumans who utilize their physical abilities. For example, if a suspect were to throw a punch at her, she would be able to 'grab' the punch and redirect it to hit a wall next to her, or the face of the suspect's friend, instead.
L I M I T A T I O N S & W E A K N E S S E S• Jane has a versatile skill set that requires her to balance her offensive abilities with her defensive abilities.
• Jane's barrier has a built-in discharge function if too much is thrown her way. If the barrier exceeds this limit, she will be left without her only defensive layer for a prolonged time.
• While the barrier is active, she is limited in how much HZE is available for offensive purposes. While the barrier depleting would, in theory, allow her to have more power behind her offensive abilities it is a gambit that has an unknown payoff thus it would be risky to try and fight without it.
• Jane can not use her abilities on objects that are not moving. While she can extend her barrier to protect a still object she can not move it herself. Once an object is in motion she’ll be able to keep it in motion, but an object at rest will forever remain at rest.

B A C K G R O U N DBorn in a Virgina mining and logging town on the edge of Appalachia in the 1950's, Solomon Winters grew very accustomed to injury, death, and the campfire tales told about the forested mountains their town was nestled against. He was a morbid child, accustomed with the macabre through familiarity, but otherwise developed well as a young boy, growing tall and thin and with a sharp mind, used to his own company as an only child. He spent 15 years living a steady, normal childhood and early adolescence; stability that would be sorely missed for the rest of his life.
In 1967, on Solomon's 15th birthday, the Dark Eclipse hit the planet, and Damascus suffered poorly. The outages from the CME that hit Earth caused severe malfunctions and shockwaves, causing a cave-in deep in the mines and trapping two shifts of miners deep underground, Solomon's father, Thomas, among them. Though a rescue effort was mounted, emergency services were stretched thin, and the resource simply wasn't available. Many men of the town lost their lives in the Dark Eclipse; Thomas Winter was one of them, counted among the miners who never saw the surface again.
A few months after the tragedy, Solomon began hearing voices, claiming to speak to the ghosts of the trapped miners, and in particular his father. While initially mistaken by his mother, Louise, for difficulties processing grief and trauma in the wake of the Dark Eclipse, soon Solomon's tales and assertions were not limited to the calamity that had claimed his father's life, and he began repeating town secrets too old and too buried to have any earthly way of knowing. His mother took him to multiple doctors, and all came back with a singular diagnosis: schizophrenia.
Prescribed a cocktail of anti-psychotics and mood stabilizers, Louise had saved her son from incarceration in an attempt to keep her remaining family close, but instead only introduced Solomon to a different kind of prison. The medication dulled his interface with the world; he became socially withdrawn, emotionally numb, mind clouded and engaging in long periods of mutism. All the while, the voices continued; Solomon simply didn't talk about them anymore.
In the summer of 1970, Solomon neared eighteen after a medicated 2 years, and the Winters household was approaching a criticality. The insurance payout from Thomas' death had paid off a sizeable chunk of the mortgage, but what had been left was trickling away on further bills. Solomon was unable to work; a mute shut-in with a propensity for the morbid and macabre, his diagnosis and medication scaring away any employer who may have been willing to look past his developmental difficulties. Despite medication, he had grown - slowly, steadily - worse in his condition, often holding entire conversations with thin air; more worryingly to Louise, he'd also begun to dechiper her own thoughts and memories through physical contact, repeating back - seemingly involuntarily - the feelings and musings she held as her own. Solomon frightened her; fear he felt directly through those same repetitions, and found confusing. He frightened himself. The medication did nothing. Wasn't she his mother?
A week after his eighteenth birthday, doctors and nurses arrived to Damascus to escort Solomon back to Petersburg, where he would be interred and treated at Virginia Central State Hospital. Medicated, sedated, and often confined to his room for days on end, Solomon plummeted to rock bottom and stayed there. In 1971, alongside many other patients at the institution, Solomon was chemically sterilized. Determined to retain some semblance of self, Solomon spent the few conscious hours he had, whenever possible, reading - attempting to educate himself and stay abreast of the world outside the white walls of his confinement, ignoring the continued voices and the waves of information from every touch. Solomon began, ever-so-slowly, to suspect - or finally give credence to long-held suspicions - that he was not schizophrenic. That he was something else entirely.
It would take seven more years of commitment before he would have an opportunity to test these theories.________________________________________________________________________________________R E C R U I T M E N T
R E C R U I T M E N TIn 1978, the fledgling Bureau of Hyperhuman Enforcement, Logistics, and Protection received an unusual, incoherent, but urgent plea from Solomon Winters in a letter he'd managed to send out, and by some miracle, they followed it to its source. H.E.L.P. arrived at Virginia Central State Hospital to an incredulous and hostile staff, but whether through providence or persuasion or sheer medical apathy on the part of the state of Virgina, they left with Solomon Winters remanded into their custody.
What followed were hard but monumental years for Solomon. Still suffering psychologically from his abilities and the years of stunted development after the fateful disaster of the Dark Eclipse, he now had H.E.L.P's assistance in weaning himself off the medication he'd spent a decade growing physically dependent on. He sobered up, and with the aid of the Bureau's research, began to educate himself on the nature and function of his abilities. The time he had spent reading while committed now gave way to a voracious appetite for knowledge, and with H.E.L.P's guidance he secured his G.E.D., and then dived headlong into further education, becoming a specialist in the occult and paranormal as he strived to understand the implications and ramifications of his powers. He plunged into Death & Culture academics alongside his extra-curricular studies, and soon possessed a Bachelor's degree - majoring in Death & Culture Studies, minoring in Mythology & Occult Sciences - and after that, went on to secure a Masters, and then a Doctorate.
The freshly-honoured Doctor Solomon Winters was now H.E.L.P's - and most of the continent's - foremost expert on occultism, death practices, and paranormal culture, with an additional insight afforded to no one else. He was inducted into the ranks of the Bureau after a short vetting process, granted Special Agent status immediately in recognition of his expertise, and more subtly, his unique status even among other Hyperhumans, which did not escape the Bureau's attention. His continued research was permitted, even encouraged - as long as Solomon would keep himself available for H.E.L.P's own research.________________________________________________________________________________________C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A U
C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A USolomon has worked within or alongside H.E.L.P. for over twenty years now, and for such a long career, his rank within the Bureau - Special Agent - doesn't reflect the sheer breadth of his experience, service, and expertise. What is does represent is the reaction his comrades, superiors, and the Bureau at large invariably have to him. Solomon remains an odd, vaguely-absent, stilted man; off-putting and anti-social in personality, and unnerving and disquieting in nature; there is also H.E.L.P's long-standing wariness about Solomon, due to his troubled history and the unique and not-yet-well-understood circumstances of his abilities. Coupled with his obsessive study and research into aspects of the supernatural and un-reality that the organization doesn't necessarily consider worth the time-and-resource-investment Solomon continues to commit to it, he ends up passed over for promotions and more senior leadership positions simply for being deemed unsuitable for it.
As a result, while Solomon is a well-respected and widely-known agent among most within the organization, he's also an incredibly 'internally-mobile' one; he's been shipped around and transferred between many units, offices, operations and task-forces across the wider H.E.L.P. structure, more than nearly any other individual within the Bureau. He struggles to make friends, and is absolutely incapable of playing the political-and-social networking game to his advantage, spending more time in the company of the morgue than his fellow agents in the field; it is only the sheer tenure of his service, the span of niches filled by his academic expertise, and the unique utility of his powers (and H.E.L.P's continued research into them) that cause him only to be shuffled, instead of disciplined, demoted, or fired entirely. This dominion allows Solomon to interact with the dead (and sometimes the living) in a handful of ways:
• Through focus, Solomon can conjure up the Überseele of the dead and communicate with the lingering consciousness contained within, able to ask questions, share memories, and with the more recently-deceased, engage in full two-sided conversation;
• By making physical contact with deceased bodies, Solomon can funnel his dominion into simple commands to the Unterseele of a being, animating the dead flesh into carrying out his command;
• Through a combination of resonance with the Über- and Unterseele in tandem, Solomon can dip into a being's memories and emotions, feeling them for himself. Using the same method, he can also experience the final living moments of a recently-expired corpse.
L I M I T A T I O N S & W E A K N E S S E S• While Solomon can connect with the Überseele of a living being to experience their memories and thoughts, he cannot influence them, nor can he command the Unterseele.
• Solomon's Unterseele commands require a corpse, and physical contact with said corpse; he cannot animate dead-flesh from distance.
• Commanded dead-flesh is still subject to real-world physics, and isn't imparted with any additional durability or strength, so can be fended off accordingly by those capable.
• The Überseeles of the more recently-deceased, or those of individuals who were particularly strong-willed in life, can manifest to Solomon independently of his summons, which can distract, frighten, or overwhelm him with voices and thoughts he didn't willingly conjure.
• Due to the Einseele inherent to Hyperhumans that unifies and balances the Über- and Unterseele, Solomon's abilities do not work whatsoever on other Hypes.

B A C K G R O U N DDylan was born in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, the youngest child of Benjamin and Lydia Thatcher, sister to Wyatt and the twins, Caleb and Gabe. The early years of her life were unremarkable, but everything changed when the world did. During the events of the Dark Eclipse on October 18, 1967, her parents and her oldest brother were subjected to the virumosis that many others experienced, developing abilities that seemed inexplicable. Confounded with the unknowns of their new reality, the family picked up and moved, acquiring a rugged patch of farmland just outside of Honesdale, Pennsylvania - a town that was small enough to know everyone’s business but big enough to give the Thatchers the space to maintain their secret.
Dylan grew up elbow-deep in dirt, sandwiched between the controlled routine of barn chores and the unfiltered madness of her three competitive brothers. Her greatest enemies and yet her most prevalent protectors, they taught her how to throw a punch, lie convincingly, and win arguments through sheer force of personality, while her parents instilled in her the value of hard work, but also patience - though that never quite really stuck.
Unlike the twins, whose powers manifested loudly upon reaching puberty, Dylan’s abilities were slower to surface. At age fourteen, she began experiencing strange emotional outbursts - feeling fear or anger that she couldn't place, sensing unspoken tension that didn't belong to her, hearing rogue thoughts like distant radio static. At first, she kept quiet, unsure if it was real or something she was imagining. Then one afternoon, while working silently beside her brother Gabe, she replied to something she had heard him say, but in reality, he hadn't said anything at all. His unspoken thought had been clear and unmistakable and it was only then she realized the truth: the chaos in her head wasn’t hers. It was everyone else's.
Over time, Dylan’s powers developed. Empathic awareness became emotional manipulation; the occasional stray thought turned into fully fledged mind reading. She slowly but surely learned how to navigate the constant mental strain that came with being telepathic - filtering background emotions from true intention, separating her own thoughts from the echoing voices of others. What began as a trickle of impressions became a torrent of potential, and Dylan adapted with agility and grace. She graduated from high school and went off to college, electing to study Psychology in order to further grapple and understand the constructs of one's mind and shape the gift she had been given.
Academia gave her language for the things she’d always sensed; She already had visibility into people’s inner worlds, now she could define what she saw. Professors called her insightful. Classmates found her magnetic, even disarming. None of them ever realized how often she already knew what they were going to say. College also taught her limits. In a crowded lecture hall, the emotional static sometimes rose to a roar. Intimate relationships grew complicated when she couldn't not feel every shift in mood, every flicker of fear or doubt. She learned to wear masks over mask, deflections that made people underestimate just how deeply she could cut if she wanted to. She was confident, fast-thinking, and defiant - flirtatious and sarcastic to disarm, stubborn to survive.________________________________________________________________________________________R E C R U I T M E N T
R E C R U I T M E N TDylan hadn’t been trying to cause trouble. She was just playing the game.
Graduation was behind her, the night was loud and loose, and the bar was packed with people riding the same wave of freedom. She and her friends had blown through their last round of drinks and were half-joking, half-daring each other to flirt their way into a fresh one. Dylan, naturally, volunteered. After scanning the room, she picked her target—a well-dressed guy alone at the bar, polished but relaxed, a tad bit older, and definitely not local. She slid up next to him with easy confidence and sent the usual feelers out; something she’d done a hundred times without thinking: read someone’s mood, lower their guard, and stack the odds just slightly in her favor. But this time, it didn’t land.
Where she normally felt pliability, she found resistance. This man's mind was intentional and fortified, one that had been trained to shut hers out. For a beat, they simply stared at each other. She knew he knew, and he knew she’d tried. What followed wasn’t confrontation - it was curiosity. He didn’t call her out or make a scene, instead the man asked her name, offered to buy the round anyway, and kept the conversation light, but deliberate. She played along, more intrigued than annoyed, sensing something beneath his polished exterior. The next day, Dylan received a call from a number she didn’t recognize. It wasn’t a coincidence.
Within a week, she was sitting in a quiet office, across from someone who knew exactly what she could do. The man at the bar had been none other than Tiberius Church, Supervisory Special Agent with the Bureau. He hadn’t been looking for recruits - but Dylan had made herself impossible to ignore.________________________________________________________________________________________C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A U
C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A UDylan has been with the Bureau for nearly a decade, carving out a niche that leverages both her telepathic talents and her natural charisma. Her skillset has made her indispensable in missions demanding subtlety and finesse rather than brute force. From her early days on the team, assignments were carefully tailored to her strengths, mainly in social infiltration, delicate diplomacy, and covert intelligence gathering. She uses her personality traits as a calculated tactic to disarm and engage targets who might otherwise remain guarded. Once close, her telepathic abilities allow her to read thoughts and influence emotions subtly, steering conversations and outcomes without raising suspicion.
Often utilized in high-stakes scenarios where a heavy-handed approach would be counterproductive, Dylan excels at turning potentially volatile situations into opportunities for resolution. Her colleagues have dubbed her “The Siren” - a nod to her ability to captivate, manipulate, and control situations with a blend of inherent charm and psychic prowess. She's built a reputation for herself as one of H.E.L.P.’s most reliable operatives, valued for her intelligence, adaptability, and the combination of mental power and social grace she brings to every mission. __PRIMARY CLASSIFICATION || Esoteric
__SECONDARY CLASSIFICATION || Psionic
__POWER SCALE || TBD
__THREAT CLASSIFICATION || TBDDylan is a telepath, her abilities centering around emotional and cognitive perception. She can access the real-time thoughts of others by mind reading in two distinct ways: through a steady, active stream if a subject is within her direct line of sight, or in intermittent fragments if they are simply within her general vicinity. The closer and more emotionally active the individual, the more pronounced the thoughts tend to be.
With physical contact, Dylan can deepen that connection, reaching beyond immediate thought into select memories. These memory extractions are limited in scope - usually brief flashes tied to strong emotional anchors, such as fear, guilt, or joy. She cannot sift through an entire history at will, but she can pull relevant scenes, names, or impressions if the emotional tie is strong enough. Resistance - either natural or trained - can obscure, fragment, or even falsify these memories, adding risk to the process.
Her emotional awareness is constant, passively registering the emotional state of those around her, even when not consciously focused. When directed, this ability becomes emotional influence: she can amplify, dull, or redirect specific emotions, subtly altering a person’s mood or decisions without them realizing they’ve been manipulated.
Dylan also possesses non-verbal telepathic communication, able to project her thoughts to individuals or broadcast them to small groups simultaneously.
L I M I T A T I O N SDylan can only establish a full mental connection with subjects who are within her line of sight— eye contact enhances clarity, but some visual proximity is required. Her powers do not work on mindless or non-sentient entities such as corpses or machines, and she cannot maintain control over an unlimited number of individuals; the number and strength of connections she can manage depend heavily on her physical and mental stamina, as well as the complexity of the situation and the power of the individuals. Additionally, her empathic sensitivity is a constant presence, which is as much a limitation as it is an asset — it's an unshakable background hum of emotional static that she can tune into more precisely when needed, but is never fully shut off.
W E A K N E S S E SOveruse of Dylan's powers can result in physical side effects such as intense headaches, lightheadedness, and frequent nosebleeds - signs of neurological strain from prolonged or excessive mental exertion. Her effectiveness also depends heavily on focus; sudden distractions or emotional disturbances can disrupt and sever active connections. While skilled, she is not invincible - her abilities can be countered or overridden by a more experienced telepath. Additionally, fears or psychological stressors can interfere with her control, making her more susceptible to emotional overload.

To be east of the Iron Curtain in the 60s was akin to having steel fingers wrap around your throat every single day. You either learned to live with less and less air each day or you died. Elek's parents learnt this the hard way, hoping that the fall of Nazi Germany would usher in a new era of peace and prosperity but instead, their country traded one would-be conqueror for another.
Elek was born under the eve of the Catalyst. He awoke to the dim glow of a fluorescent lightbulb and inside a cramped mold-infested bathroom that was only big enough for one person. It was at a young age that he learnt about the real and hidden rules of the world he lived in. He learnt about the rules that could be broken when he plucked wild strawberries growing under a military guard post in the thick of night and the rules that couldn't broken when his uncle was executed for trafficking western films into the depths of the eastern bloc.
Furthermore, Elek displayed abnormal behaviour during his pre-adolescent years, saying that he heard the call of spirits in the walls. His parents became worried about his behaviour and how it would attract attention from the state police. Already, rumours of individuals with supernatural powers had spread throughout the Soviet Union and after the Catalyst event, their neighbour's trigger fingers were itchy. His parents sought the help of a state psychologist at a young age who had diagnosed him with ADHD and Elek was treated with a cocktail of thorazine alongside a battery of outdated treatments from the Stalin era of psychiatry. Slowly but surely, the whispers at night faded but something changed in Elek. His mind felt bound. Waking up felt more of a chore. In some way, he felt a part of him had been cut out. In truth, Elek' was compeltely misdiagnosed. It wasn't ADHD. It was his burgeoning hyperhuman abilities. The whispers he was hearing were from a high frequency storm of radio broadcasts, telecommunication waves and satellite signals.
Seeing that there was no future for their son in an authoritarian state, the Keyers made their move. His mother tugged on the heartstrings of a Gdansk border official at twilight. Whilst the guard was distracted, his father shoved a screwdriver back. By the time the guards discovered his corpse, the Keyers had fled to Stockholm, using fake papers they had procured from the Soviet black market. There, the Keyers became the Arnesons and soon, they were on a lobster shipping trawler to Boston Harbor.
In the USA, Elek's parents sought to ply the trades they learnt in university. His mother approached accounting firms with a moldy old certificate from the University of Moscow whereas his father found his home in the electronics industry. Growing up in America was difficult for Elek as he struggled to communicate, to connect with his schoolmates on the playground with his passable fluency in English. Even when he became proficient, they still ignored him. Elek turned to troublemaking as a means of dealing with his frustrations, a sign of things to come. Frequent meetings were held between his parents and his homeschool teachers for acts of vagrancy including lockpicking, messing around his school's fire alarm and making inappropriate announcements on the school's personal speaker system.
His mother and father disagreed on how best to deal with Elek's errant behaviour. His mother suggested they send him to a boarding school, preferably military. His father preferred a more subtle approach. For Elek's 15th birthday, his father brought a old Commodore 64 to him and Elek was hooked. The purity of coding, the clarity of the machine catalyzed something within his mind. However, he couldn't make heads or tails of it. Elek sought to understand what was being spoken and so, sought out the help of his neighborhood's computer club. It was located at his local library, down the corner of a lot of mom and pop cigarette shops. With the assistance of hobbyist programmers and software engineers who were amused at the sight of a child typing basic scripts on a keyboard, Elek went from being an amateur to a capable programmer at the age of 8.
One morning, on a cold Saturday, Elek began to hear the same whispers again but they were different. I He saw the language of the world flowing through his mind, roads of binary data streaming through fiber optic cables and blocks of machine code imprinted onto motherboards. The storm of 1's and 0's that blinded him for months eventually crystallized into clear, crisp blocks of code. The revelation was akin to seeing color for the first time when the world had been black and white for most of his life. Meanwhile, in those early days, the computer club exposed Elek to the world of hacking from old beatniks and DIY enthusiasts who took him in like a little brother. They taught him the ethos of hacking, about how technology needed to be explored, to be pushed to its limit in order to understand it. That short brief era of peace was disrupted when the police department arrested several members of the computer club for exposing security flaws within a local branch of Deustche Bank. His mother pulled his membership from the computer club and Elek returned to the boring world of middle school and high school, saddened over the loss of a fraternity that he'd been a part of.
When he turned 18 and joined MIT's prestigious computer engineering program, Elek's powers had grown tremendously. Telecommunication and computurized networks were his to poke around like a pig in a truffle farm. Manipulating machines were becoming more and more akin to breathing to him. Still, he had remained on the periphery, quietly using his abilities for convenience or minor personal gain, never for interfering in the affairs of others. Then, in his second year, he found out that one of his friends had been assaulted by a group of upper class fresh graduates during their graduation party. They'd called it hazing. Elek saw it for what it was; bullying. It was a glitch to him, a bug that needed to be removed.
So, he hacked their shitty little Apples and their Macintoshes, cracking open their accounts with a simple password guessing script and publishing all of their dirty little secrets on MIT's bulletin board. He cracked open their bank accounts, spoofing their identities and transferring most of their savings into a animal welfare charity for shits and giggles. He hacked their school records and edited them in such a way that they would apepar to be obviously falsified. The next term, all of the people who had assaulted his friend were gone, having transferred to another college out of embarassment.
It was at that moment that Elek discovered the thrill, the joy of owning someone's information, of having their fate in his hands. He didn't care about making the world better but he sure as hell didn't like people who tried to make the world worse.________________________________________________________________________________________> R E C R U I T M E N T
> R E C R U I T M E N TThroughout his undergraduate degree, Elek dove back into the world of underground hacking with a vengeance, operating under the psuedonym of under_walker. He quickly developed a reputation as a daring yet taciturn hacker, publishing the results and methods of his hacks in a byzantine manner online. None of his hacks could be replicated in spite of the instructions due to the use of his Hyperhuman abilities to help smooth over the innate challenges in implementing some of his methods in a normal manner. This streak of hacking eventually culminated in the infamous Triangle Hack. The details are sparse but in the most overt usage of his Hyperhuman abilities yet, Elek managed to hack the IRS by gaining superuser privileges over most of their eastern board mainframe network. From there, he was able to provide dozens of "positive" tax returns to numerous underprivileged communities. The attempt had left Elek in a coma for 2 days but the damage was massive, costing the IRS 10 million dollars in damages.
After letting things cool off for two months, Elek returned for his final exams, only to be called up to the dean's office. He walked up, calm and assured. He made sure to wipe traces of his connection from the IRS servers and kept his identity anonymous on the boards. There was no way the CIA, NSA or FBI could have traced him. When he opened the door, it wasn't the dean who greeted him but one Tiberius Church. Tiberius offered him an ultimatum: join H.E.L.P or be imprisoned in a state of the art Hyperhuman facility.
After one dinner and an hour of tense negotiations later, Elek made his choice.________________________________________________________________________________________> C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A U
> C A R E E R W I T H T H E B U R E A USince joining the Bureau, Elek has served a unique role in H.E.L.P's operational technology department as its resident specialist Hyperhuman. His knowledge in computer systems and programming coupled with the technological hyperhuman abilities have made him invaluable to the organisation when it comes to cases or investigations requiring a touch of digital forensics, electronic surveillance or cyberwarfare. When a building surveillance needs to be hacked or a potential target needs to be tracked, Elek is often the first one to be assigned. During assignments, Elek often prefers dealing with his targets from far away behind the safety of a monitor or in a covert manner rather than being face to face with his targets, in spite of frustration from his superiors. His talents and operational approach given rise to the nickname: "Phreak" in reference to the era of telecommunications hacking that arose during the 70s.
However, his methods have garnered consternation from some of his senior and fellow agents outside of the operational technology department who perceive his remote methods as evidence of a lack of commitment or courage. His reclusive and laconic persona does little to help soothe over any issues in teamwork or collaboration that may arise during fieldwork. His 'extra-curricular' activities, as Elek refers to them, are continuously monitored by his superiors. In spite of warnings and threats of incarceration, Elek continues to be defiant, routinely engaging in a bit of off-the-books hacking every now and then when it interests him. > P H O T O I D E N T I F I C A T I O N_________________________________________________________

__PRIMARY CLASSIFICATION || Exoteric
__SECONDARY CLASSIFICATION || Electromagnetic
__POWER SCALE || 6
__THREAT CLASSIFICATION || S I G M AElek's primary hyperhuman ability is technopathy: the ability to mentally control, communicate and interface with all forms of electronic technology via the usage of HZE-induced electromagnetic manipulation with a secondary ability to detect and process most forms of electromagnetic phenomena. Researchers in the Sciences Division have speculated that Elek's original abilities were broad electomagnetic wave manipulation but early exposure to antipsychotics during his childhood led to a formation of a mental block in his powers. It may be possible for Elek to access his original abilities with rigorous counselling and psychotherapy but he has frequently resisted attempts, believing his powers to be perfect the way they are.
Elek's perception of electromagnetic phenomena is omnidirectional and does not rely on line of sight for detection. He is able to mentally visualise the precise direction, location and of electromagnetic wave, though, he is primarily limited to low frequency electromagnetic waves. He is able to control his awareness, blocking out background frequencies to focus on specific signals or mute his senses entirely. He is able to broadly detect other higher frequencies on the electromagnetic spectrum such as visible light, ultraviolet and radiation in his surrounding environment but is unable to discern specific characteristics about them.
Elek's control of technology is achieved primarily through emission of electromagnetic waves through touch based or remote contact. Through creative use of both his electromagnetic detection and manipulation of technology, Elek can effortlessly interpret and control all facets of any technology he encounters such as its firmware, software, stored data, network connections and subsystems.
However, a quirk of Elek's technopathy is his usage of programming languages for abstraction visualization of the electromagnetic spectrum and as a heuristic tool for his powers. Elek's mentally interprets all forms of electromagnetic data and wave emissions as abstract blocks of code and manipulates technologies by mentally constructing and transmitting code in the form of scripts or programs. Compared to other similar Hyperhuman twith cyberpathy, Elek's method is more precise and efficient in terms of control and energy but is slower and requires extraneous knowledge to mentally write each line of code. Elek's quirk also enables him to upload software or firmware onto each technology such as malware new features and rudimentary virtual intelligences. Each language is fast and efficient in its specific use case. Incorrect usage of a programming language or bad code can possibly result in lag, ineffectiveness or possible unintended behaviour. Elek, therefore, must be careful with his chosen language.
The current list of languages that Elek deploys and their specific roles are as follows:
C: C to Elek is his workhorse for technological manipulation as it achieves a blance in terms of efficiency, speed and reliability.
Assembly: The most simplest and hardest to use. Elek primarily uses the Assembly language as both a means of quickly crashing/destroying machinery through buggy overflow injections/bitflips and when he requires microscopic precision with his technopathic powers.
C++: Used interchangably with C, C++ is used by Elek when it comes to complex software creation such as virtual intelligences, viruses or replicating programs.
Perl: Elek's most high-level language. Perl places the least amount of mental stress due to its higher level of abstraction but lacks the precision when it comes to C or C++. Elek's preferred usage for Python is to deploy quick and dirty scripts or software when he needs something ad hoc and fast.
Bsh: Bsh scripting is the equivalent of a compass by Elek and is used as his primary tool for interpreting and navigating server systems
COBOL: Elek's most hated language and yet the most necessary. It's the best in his toolbox when it comes to cracking the security of large institutions, particularly banks, government agencies (like the IRS), healthcare, supermarket retail chains and airliners.
> L I M I T A T I O N SThe very quirk that enables Elek's technopathy is perhaps one of his most fatal flaws. Elek must continuously learn and adapt to new programming languages and code. If Elek encounters a new form of coding paradigm or language on a piece of technology, he must first study and understand it before he can effectively manipulate it. His technopathy gives him an advantage when it comes to learning but not to the point of effortlessly becoming a savant.
Logically, Elek is unable to manipulate any non-electronic device or any device that operates on non-electronic mechanisms with his coworkers often teasing him about it. EM or RF shielding devices such as faraday cages, copper/aluminium shielding or carbon-polymer plastics can also interfere with his ability to effectively control technology.
The maximum range of Elek's powers varies with the amount of physical and natural obstructions in the environment. In an open, natural environment such as a forest or a desert, his maximum range measures over 500 meters in radius.
> W E A K N E S S E SUrban materials such as concrete or rubber can dampen the range of Elek's abilities. Electromagnetic pulses or activity can also briefly 'short-circuit' Elek's abilities for a short period of time.
Usage of Elek's technopathy can result in both physical and mental overstrain.and increase his cerebral temperature to dangerous levels if he does not rest and recuperate. Foods rich in short-chain carbohydrates and fish oils are needed to maintain optimal efficiency of Elek's powers.
