In other news, I've started construction on a Discord server for us to encourage more communication and collaboration. Joining is completely optional, but open to everyone.
That's completely fair. If you have anything specific you want to ask (like about wider setting implications), I can do my best. I also have a first post done, so if you'd like I can finish the follow up that concludes the section and PM them to you if you want to get the vibe for how my take reads.
That would actually be great and incredibly helpful for me.
If there's any trepidation over this one for any reason (like my game activity, or setting questions regarding source material) don't hesitate to reach out, I agree that it's odd, but I'm pretty confident in the concept.

Twenty-three years ago, the world as we know it almost ended. Mass destruction of souls tipped the metaphysical balance in ways that would have collapsed the cycle of life and death, creating a world with neither. It may have been a better world, especially for those who fear death, but it was averted. Things did and still do remain as they are. Chad did not save the world himself, but he was there supporting his friends along the way, recognized for it in some ways as others went unnoticed, and that was fine. Since then he’s found footing in a boxing career, becoming world renown after more than a decade in the ring.
But for all his strength, he has so much buried within that hasn’t seen the light of day. The part of him that burns to fight has grown cold as hard fists are covered in padded gloves. The part of him that flourishes from helping others has withered under the spotlight. The devils in his shoulders are whispering to him to seek something more, and he is one chance encounter away from listening.

An off-handed reference to Bleach in the Discord channel discussing this experimental game in this lineage left me wondering: how could I make it work? While most of the setting would be relatively difficult to incorporate due to its deliberate distance from Earth’s society and human perception, Chad is what’s called a Fullbring, and can use his powers without turning into a ghost that’s invisible to most people like the majority of the rest of the cast. And he’s also Chad. Bleach is a favorite story of mine, but in a cast of phenomenal characters, Chad is at once among the main cast and is only passably fine. The 'Yamcha' of Bleach, if you will. Part of my aim would be to expand and focus on a relatively secondary character in the source material. An angle with which to do that is his age. Comics are cyclical, rebooting characters and moving their storylines forward in time (Captain America was once displaced from WWII by only a couple decades…). But manga start, go for their length, and end, with really popular ones continuing on in some fashion (Bleach included as we wait for its continuation after a tease several years ago now). To represent this, I set the Bleach timeline at exactly the length it is in canon. The main conflict of Bleach concluded in 2003 over 20 years ago, the epilogue set 10 years later too long over. While he has so much context to his backstory, in the RP he’s a gentle giant who’s boxing career is leaving him cold, his superhero career being born out of an intersection of the fighting he enjoys (at odds with his defensive pacifism) and the kindness and will to help others that are so central to who he is. In rediscovering the self he hasn’t touched since high school, he’ll rediscover the strength he tempered alongside his friends, and perhaps see some inner devils along the way.
I genuinely don't know enough about Bleach to be comfortable accepting this sheet into the game. While I trust you as a writer, this is feeling outside the bounds of my comfort and limits as a GM.
If anyone else wants to weigh in, I'd be happy to listen, but I've been mulling a response for several days now, and I keep coming back to no.
The day Crescent City was ripped out of California and suspended several miles above the Earth. A shield fell over the city, completely encasing it and immediately some sort of pacification waves. The general populace remained blissfully unaware of the changes to their life, going about their day like nothing had happened.
But Crescent City's Hyperhuman population remained unfazed and aware.
Perhaps save Abduction for Season 1 finale to change up Status Quo for Season 2

I'm sorry, this RP has several different enforced rules, one being that a character must come from various canon (Marvel, DC etc) but also two being an enforced character structure.
You think you're slick knowing this is a stealth STAKE revival but the joke's on you, my planned saga will eventually bring another entirely new character in that I was also theory-crafting their own sheet before realizing I could just hijack it into GR as well.
Man, knowing you that could be anything from Jonah Hex to Eve Coffin to Daimon Helstrom
While we're throwing down gauntlets for secondary sheets, here's something I drew up previously, that I've tweaked for this game and cooked up a new saga for that I'm quite excited about:

Danielle Ketch was born Halloween night, 2006, to single mother Roxanne. Her father was out of the picture far before her birth, unable to handle the idea of becoming a father and providing for a family, and his departure had left Roxanne destitute. The poverty and hardship she felt in the months leading up to and shortly after Dani's arrival created an unfair resentment of the daughter who she felt had robbed her of her one proper chance; Roxanne was a cold and distant mother, barely achieving bare minimum for Dani's wellbeing most days, and this subsequently taught Dani how to look after herself, and more importantly, how not to be like her mom.
Their differences only widened the rift between them, and as Dani grew, what little relationship they had deteriorated further. Dani would spend days at a time away from home, returning only when no other options for shelter were available - and even then, she'd still occasionally opt for a bus stop bench instead. When Dani turned 18, her mother stopped getting benefits, and also stopped being legally responsible for her wellbeing - so Dani got a day to fill one box with whatever few possessions she could claim as hers, and then her mom told her to hit the road.
A lifetime of being unwanted had not instilled Dani with a naturally happy or friendly disposition, and once ejected from her home, she began to wear out her welcome with the few people left in her small nowhere town who were willing to lend futons and couches and floors. When she eventually hit the streets, she ended up getting ticketed for vagrancy, and then arrested for assaulting a deputy, and then spent a night stewing in a cell with nothing to do but sit with her rage and misery and misanthropy; nothing to do but wish for revenge. This was when Mephisto appeared to her, and offered just that.
Dani left her little parish of Hicksville in the Devil's asshole of nowhere that night forever, under cover of darkness and on the wings of power far from her own. By the time she woke up from her unconscious escape, the redneck hive she'd left behind was a smoldering inferno on the far horizon. Whatever power Mephisto had lent her had razed the town to the ground as its first act, indulging Dani's thirst for vengeance against a cruel and cold world in a most terrible wreaking of revenge. It left ash in its wake, and worse still it remained within her, residing in her heart, hungry and thrashing for more.
Now on the run from forces both mundane and Hellish, Dani spends every sleeping moment reckoning and grappling with this new presence and power that seeks to dominate her completely - and every waking hour fleeing from its consequences.

Dani Ketch was a character I tried a long time ago, before my knees creaked, and I have been wanting an opportunity to revisit her. While Black Knight's very character-driven, the way I like it, he's also mopey and unsure of himself and has a lot to learn, and won't have much of an opportunity to travel. Dani, on the other hand, will be a road-trip story all across the US with a (planned) ensemble cast, that will allow me to revive some other concepts I've enjoyed previously, explore more characters I've never thought about playing with (like I'm doing with Dane), and let me cross paths with nearly anybody else in the game - all while still scratching that supernatural itch I love so much and having a plot to pursue in the meantime. I recently discovered some art that reinvigorated my ideas for the character, (thank you @Lord Wraith for the edits once again!) and I have a very strong saga to pursue with Ketch and her eventual crew.

This is what my previous Jonathan Crane-shaped question was in relation to, as I want to use him as the story's major villain with some inspiration from the Absolute incarnation of the character. If this will get in the way of other's plans, it's flexible, I have options - just let me know. I don't want to hog him all to myself, but Scarecrow will be instrumental as the arc's antagonist.
Ghost Rider (Backdoor Pilot/Revival of Agents of S.T.A.K.E.) is accepted.
