Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

The sheet looks great! All I can say is that the Engineer has already appeared in the story, and is currently with Blazermate as a Striker, so you could replace him with a different character to utilize that kindred spot. Otherwise, feel free to post the sheet in the Characters tab, and I'll send you a PM with your entry point.
I appreciate all the effort put into your CS! It looks good, although the question of making Sephiroth 'level one' is a difficult one, to be sure.

You did mention how he performs in Smash. In Smash, he's got a lot of power and range, but while his movement speed is fast his frame data is on the slow side, and some of his moves have a lot of recovery. He's also on the lighter side, able to be launched without much difficulty. This could make him into a fighter in World of Light with obvious strengths but also obvious weaknesses, and maybe lead to a personal angle where Sephiroth is frustrated by the damage he keeps taking when he knows he should be better than this.

'Expert Combatant' and 'Superhuman' describe who he is, but not how he'll perform at the beginning. Levels are power for NPCs, so at the beginning, if Sephiroth were to fight, say, Tora and Poppi, two level eight characters, he would be trounced despite the incredible difference in their canon strength. As cool as it would be, he can't exactly make his entrance by slicing through a boss, either. If this if fine, then Sephiroth is accepted! Post the sheet in Characters tab and I'll send you a PM about an entry point.
Looks like we're shaping up to have an interesting roster. The personalities on deck should allow for some fun dynamics. We've got a gung-ho fight-lover, a professional stoic, a girl who's kind but bashful, a bemusing eccentric, and an impulsive doof. If everyone's got communication issues except the two who just blurt out whatever they feel, talking to civilians (not to mention battlefield chatter) will be something else.

I don't think commitment should be an issue so long as I have a solid goal in mind for whatever character I might try to go with in mind, and maybe even notes on their arc as well, though it might be next year when I take four CIS classes. Though those are on the weekends it seems, so that might just be a null issue.

Other than that I think I've gotten the spirit system figured out, as that was the most confusing part for me since I've only played Smash back when it had versions on the GameCube, and thus had to look up some of the more recent lore.

I see. Well, I don't foresee our typically weekly update cycle being too much of a problem then. Glad to see you're more or less up to speed, as well. I'll look forward to your application!
@Lugubrious Merry Christmas to you and all.

Likewise! I hope you enjoy your holidays.

I have looked at this before, and after multiple read throughs I think I get how the mechanics of the World of Light part of Smash work now. Will say, while it might be foolish to join this since I'm in other roleplays, I am interested. I just have to think of which game character to use, though I am also tempted to go with a recently added edgelord.

Hey there! If you're sure you've got the time to give this RP a full commitment, I'd be glad to have you, and also glad to explain whatever you might want more information about.
Limsa Lominscuttle Town

Location: Aftcastle
Frog's @BlackMist16, Ace Cadet's @Yankee

“Finished for the day?” The receptionist behind the counter did not look surprised, but given how little Katheryne tended to emote for any occasion, that couldn't necessarily be counted as praise for Frog's adventuring ability. His skills, however, spoke for themselves. Not many adventurers worked in Limsa at all, and fewer still could match his ability. Every day he arrived here at the Aftcastle to get the day's commissions, and if in good form he'd be done with all four and back to collect the rewards before lunch. After jotting down Frog's name and the time in her ledger, Katheryne handed over his rewards. In addition to the typical handful of gil, he received a few shards of purple crystal, which supposedly harbored strengthening properties. Just how to use them, however, was anyone's guess, so those who went to the trouble of earning them typically kept them as pride points.

“Farewell, and see you again on the morrow.” So saying, the receptionist waved Frog away. Whatever the rest of the day held was up to him. In Limsa Lominscuttle Town, there was seldom a dull moment. Even putting aside the constant activities of the navy, a capable warrior could find plenty to occupy his time. Whether that took the form of undersea expeditions into the nearby ocean, a sortie with the seastack city's Half-Genie Hero, or just undertaking maneuvers with the Maelstrom guard, who could say.

Today, however, things were a little different. Whispers abounded among the commonfolk of strange new arrivals, who moved through the hubbub of the city with both wonderment and urgency. This wasn't too surprising, given how rarely the city greeted total strangers, but apparently those newcomers had been carrying around some serious coinage. Stunned townsfolk murmured of sacks and carts stuffed with gold coins, ferried to and fro, but never to the stores and stalls of Hawkers' Alley and beyond.

As Frog left the Aftcastle behind, with no need to deal further with the Maelstrom today, he happened to overhear an exclamation from someone close by. “Look, there's one now!” She pointed out to her friend excitedly, indicating with less-than-perfect subtlety a certain redhead a ways away. Indeed, the man was a stranger to Frog, both in terms of his appearance and the style of his equipment. He looked ready for battle, and no stranger to it, but he boasted an easygoing and personable face. Right now the face turned this way and that constantly, as if he was searching for something or someone.
Now might be a good time to admit I have zero memory of anything that happened during Horde of Evil.
Looks like we'll have two adrenaline-fueled, battle-raging melee powerhouses, eh?

@Lugubrious Nah man that would take much longer than it would take for me to try and do this myself. I mean someone could copy it for me and put it to the CS tab and then I could quote it.

I can do that.
