Rine of the Frostmadien: Take two

Alright we are going to try this again, new thread and hopefully less clutter.

I still do not intend on it being a rapid campaign as I do have time restrictions with work and life but I will try to get a few posts in a day. Please let me know if issues come up that you cannot post. I will attempt to keep your character with the group if you would like. However if there is a opportunity and you would prefer, your character can stay in one of the towns. Please try to post at least once a week or let us know if you cannot.

With that said feel free to ask questions and I'll probably add more details as questions are asked, or I remember different things.

• I prefer character sheets on mythweavers or d&d beyond.
• Please stick to Players Handbook, Xanathars Guide to everything and Eberron rise from the last war, for classes, subclass, spells, and feats. These are the source books I have and will use. As for the use of Tasha's cauldron, I will allow some use in regards to the customizing of races provided it fits the character and their backstory.
• Use of Mordenkianen's tomb of foes for player races will be allowed.
• Character secrets will be available to players. I will DM people the list to choose from. It can be chosen randomly or simply picked. Some have no direct benefit, others may be a benefit or a hindrance.
• Players will start at level two.
• I will be randomly selecting where the party will be starting. It will be in one of the Ten-Towns.
• Everyone starts with cold-weather clothing as well as their classes starting gear. Or starting wealth if you should choose that instead.
• Attributes will be rolled. 4d6 drop the lowest, and if you so choose you can reroll 1s. If you would prefer you can do point buy
• I intend on using the milestone method for leveling up rather than xp. Less to track for yall.
• No variance encumbrance will be used.
• I will cap the total party members at 6.
• I will also keep links to the active characters in the zeroth post. Also passive stats will be there for mostly so I do not have to keep cycling through character sheets.

Now if you all would like the group to have been adventuring together for a time I'll leave that up to you. We will be starting in a different location and events in the prior thread/campaign have no sway here.

I will try to keep this post updated as more information is added.

He was mildly surprised at Kathryn's refusal of payment. True she was already being paid for dealing with goblins in the area, but aiding him in his investigation? Most folk he had worked with in prior years would not have given a second thought to getting paid for helping him. Perhaps times have changed more in the last several decades than he anticipated. Well at least in the matter in which pay was offered outright. It was possible that the disappearance of Samuel and the dressmaker's daughter could be related to the goblin issue Kathryn and her group were hired for. Rickard was unsure of the little he knew about either disappearance would help them track down goblins. Maybe there was more to the disappearances, or even to this group that Kathryn was a part of.

As Kathryn introduced the recently arrived purple clad woman, Rickard gave a curt nod. "Greetings Victoria. I was discussing with Kathryn a person I had come into the town to visit. His father had not heard from him in sometime and asked me to make sure nothing happened to him. Unfortunately it seems he is missing and no one here has really noticed until recently."

His attention shifted back towards the doors as someone called out that the man next to the door was in need of help. The person in question looked to be a tiefling, and also appeared to most likely be from an area with warmer climate. She had slapped the unconscious man twice in an attempt to wake him. To her credit he did seem to wake up some. Kathryn called out to the tiefling, naming her Kosara, telling her to leave the man alone. Shortly after the commotion started, another woman approached the two and said something that Rickard could not hear from his position as the bar. From what little he could see she did not seem to pleased by the matter at hand.

"I presume the you know her?" The question was Kathryn but Rickard had not turned to face her. The scene that was unfolding in the doorway had his attention, as it did for other patrons. He mentally started to ready himself to intervene should the situation escalate, though he was not sure it would. Reasonably the most he could do right now was watch and wait.

I am wanting to check and see who all would be interested in continuing this. For those who have been away awhile they can be auto piloted to be elsewhere until the player is able to return. However if everyone wants to we can start over, potentially with a new thread, and go from there.

True, climbing isn't even necessary as we could probably just lift someone up to the window.

He followed Aura up to the tower watching the top for anyone who may have had the idea to start dropping things on the heads of those who were by the door. He did one more check to ensure his half-helm and shield were secure as he neared the rest of the group.

As Flicker told everyone to shut up Jørmund rolled his eyes and moved up next to the door. "They may not expect anyone to go through the upper window but if anyone does they should not go alone. Aura is correct in that being a very bad plan. If you want my opinion I suggest we knock the door down and get this over with." With a slight shift he braced himself ready to start forcing the door open.
