Glimmway picked up the gemstones, running her grubby fingers over their smooth surface. She turned them around in her hands, watching the light catch off the smooth surfaces and glinting off the corners. They were, undoubtedly, the most beautiful things she'd seen in her short life so far.

She promptly stuck the smoother milky stone in her mouth and sucked on it.

It was only after the giggling vanished and her curiousity had been quenched by the strange stones that she noticed the shadow looming beside her. She turned to see Rizz in the dark caverns nearby, already making a hasty exit.

Glimmway scambled over, trying to keep up with her longer stride. Eventually she managed to catch up, just about, though her stubby little legs had to work pretty hard to do so. She tugged on Rizz's hand, pressing the red gem into her palm if able. Glimmway's face lit up in a big closed-mouth grin, her cheek bulging.

@CollectorOfMyst I'm happy with that so long as none of my players have any objections.

We're still very early in, you may even be able to join the initial caravan if you wish.

Here's the current caravan setup, everyone:

"You want us to clear out the gypsies so that the General, in his majesty, doesn't string them up on the battlements when he gets back."
Vadania Siannodel

Granlow took a long draw from his goblet. He hadn't expected anyone's hearing to be that good.

"It isn't my place to question the General's methods but yes, I have no doubt that fate will await them should these travellers still be causing trouble by the time he returns. He will hardly be in good humour after his campaign and, let us say, it is in his interest to make a show of strength in a timely manner."

The servants returned, this time with a selection of stewed fruits and cream custard tarts. More wine was brought along with them, one youth staring at Tae perplexedly before switching her glass with water. Granlow began to wonder if it had been so wise to ply the group with drink.

The Chamberlain listened to her slightly slurred question, looking up to the ceiling as he recalled the details the men on the wall had relayed. He had not touched dessert, just yet.
"It is only a small group, a little over a dozen, with half as many draft horses and four wagons between them. We are unaware how many magically-inclined individuals are among them, however, and all of our most trusted casters are away with the General." He eyed Mirrors of Bright Water meaningfully as Vadania brought up some of her concerns.

"They're not gonna listen to us if they wouldn't listen to the guardsmen, especially if they've got those versed in the arcane among them. But, I'll lend my bow to dislodging them."
Vadania Siannodel

Granlow leaned forward, his tone dropping."I don't plan on giving them much of a choice. Things have escalated, and a polite inquiry is no longer on the table. No, I require your group to deliver an ultimatum on behalf of myself and Fort Rock. As I said, it isn't to my liking for this to be dealt with violently, but some fates are worse then others. If you are able to deliver my message and resolve the situation peacefully, that would be in everyone's best interests."

At the mention of the bewitchment, Granlow knotted his hands together, his knuckles turning white. He chose his words carefully. "We have no true professionals present, but the men talked very kindly of the travellers for the next hour or so upon return." His face twitched uncharacteristically. There may be more to be said on the matter.

I might know how to get rid of them.

Granlow turned to Jameson, his eyebrows arching in the faintest indication of surprise. "Any peaceful method is viable. My only requirement is that my ultimatum is delivered and received tonight."

β€œI suppose I can go along if Jameson is. So long as you can assure that those who are innocent are not persecuted once we are done with our task, otherwise we will have problems.

Granlow nodded in reply. He seemed pleased. "Those terms are amenable to me. I have enough business in Fort Rock without dedicating resources to issues beyond our walls. There is no risk of retribution from the men, either, I should think. We shall all be glad of it when the issue is resolved."

"So," he said, looking between each of you. "Will you take on the task of delivering my ultimatum this night? You are in the best position to do it. There will be half bonus pay if you can resolve the matter peacefully before dawn." He added with a glance in Jameson's direction.
EDIT: Inventory updates pending... || Everything but the sash, is transfferred, I believe
@Majoras End

@CollectorOfMyst Man, I swear I've added that sash a bunch of times now. Gonna start thinking it's haunted. I'll add it up shortly.

You've still got the whiskey, sash and pistol to decide on. By the gold, do you mean the price of the Horse Trade or are you cashing in some items for more gold to splite between the two characters?

@Briza Eldress dodges the bite at the last second, determined not to take any damage.
Sorry for the wait!

Here's a Fodder goblin, though I haven't referenced her anywhere yet IC:

Glimmway stared intently at the end of the cave. She was in no particular hurry just yet, and while bugs would soon no longer be a filling meal she figured she could wait a little longer before heading out into the wider world. After all, something interesting had caught her attention.

She stared for a good long while.

Yes, there was definitely something going on there, some sort of light. Glimmway looked around, trying to see if anyone else had noticed.

Some of the other goblins zipped this way and that. There were a few that had already differentiated themselves, while others seemed more content to follow their instincts alone. She wondered, briefly, about what the difference was. A few had gathered together in groups and were out hunting now.

Hmm. Glimmway toddled up from her perch and down towards the light, her pace steady and measured. She was ready to react if she turned a corner and found something nasty ready to jump out, but she wasn't going to let the possibility of such a thing stop her from satisfying her curiosity. She doubted that the tribe that had left them would leave anything particularly dangerous down these passageways... but it would be better to find out now then later on.
